  • Chart buffs - quiz help needed!

Hi all - a friend has sent me a 500 question music quiz he devised over lockdown and it's pretty tough.

A lot of the answers I've got, but there are some I just can't find no matter how much I research, rack my brains or scroll through chart sites.

    13. Which girl band from Croydon featured the 3 Mason sisters?

3: Shaun Cassidy's cover of 'Da Doo Ron Ron'.
4: I think the start of 'Wooly Bully' contains English, Spanish and Portuguese numbers.

A few otheres show up by just googling the question, is that cheating?

            8. I Fought The Law - The Clash....

They replaced "left my baby" with "killed my baby" when performing the song live, but the studio version bottled out and retained the original lyric...

Thanks for those! Nope, the quiz is over email so it was designed specifically to be tough and need Google!

I’ve googled them all myself but couldn’t get the answers, mustn’t have been wording some right.

19 Paul King (Tears for Fears Manager & Mungo Jerry Guitarist)

15 My guess would be Van Morrison but he may have had more than 16!

21 I know Jess Glynne has, trying to recall if anybody did before her

My guess for #21 is Alanis Morissette but I need to get clarity on whether he means top 40 hits.

As far as I can tell, Van Morrison had a few more than 16 albums before his first top 10. George Benson went top 10 with his fourth album. Iggy Pop might be a good shout, it's around that number...

                                Aaah yes good point.

I established that question relates to top 75 entries too, so Florence & The Machine fits - unless any female did this earlier?
