^ So that Dee Gees / Foo Fighters thing has just been released digitally (half the album is live FF tracks). So it has a chance of staying top 40.

    19 July 2021
KSI jetting towards first Number 1 album with All Over The Place

Plus John Mayer, Pop Smoke and Tina Turner are aiming for this week's Top 40.

    By Helen Ainsley
KSI is soaring straight towards this week’s Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart with his second studio album All Over The Place.

The rapper, singer and online entertainer is outselling the rest of the Top 5 combined with the collection, racing ahead on all formats both physical and digital.

All Over The Place is the follow-up to 2020’s Dissimulation which peaked at Number 2 after a close contest with The 1975, in which KSI promised his fans he would shave his head if he reached Number 1. See KSI's full Official Chart History here.

KSI will join livestream interview series The Record Club with Bowers & Wilkins this Wednesday (21 July) from 6.30pm to discuss the album and answer fans’ questions.

Meanwhile, John Mayer is on course for his third Top 10 album with Sob Rock at Number 3, his eighth studio album. Late US rapper Pop Smoke’s second posthumous record Faith is also eyeing up a Top 10 debut, at Number 4 midweek.

Foo Fighters’ Record Store Day Drop 2 release Hail Satin - as their disco alter-ego Dee Gees - could debut in the Top 10 after landing at Number 7 midweek. If it holds on it will mark Foo Fighters’ 12th Top 10 album and 14th Top 40.

Further down, Tina Turner’s chart-topping album Foreign Affair (13) could return to the chart thanks to a deluxe reissue, Lincolnshire singer-songwriter Stephen Fretwell could land in the Top 20 with Busy Guy (14) after a 14-year hiatus, and Gary Kemp is also eyeing up the Top 20 with his second solo album Insolo (15).

More titles from Saturday’s RSD Drop could potentially enjoy a placing in the Top 40, including Black Sabbath’s third studio album Master Of Reality (21), The Sisters of Mercy’s BBC Sessions 1982-1984 (27), Hot Rocks by The Rolling Stones (31) and The Cure’s Wild Mood Swings (39).

Finally, Swedish prog metal band Opeth are at Number 35 midweek with 2001 studio album Blackwater Park, following a 20th anniversary re-release – if it holds on it will mark the first time the album has charted in the UK.

    Music Week:

The Official Charts Company Midweek Sales Flash is in, and Dave’s new track is homing in on a Top 5 finish.

The lead single from the rapper’s upcoming second album We’re All Alone In This Together, Clash features Stormzy and is on 28,651 sales for the week so far, with all but 761 download units coming from streaming alone. Clash has 3,927,433 streams for the week so far across audio and video, with Tuesday’s streaming data yet to be counted.

At No.1, Ed Sheeran’s Bad Habits has 62,975 sales, with 3 Lions (39,263 sales) still at No.2 despite England’s loss to Italy in the final of Euro 2020. Olivia Rodrigo’s Good 4 U (36,390 sales) and The Kid Laroi & Justin Bieber’s Stay (23,296 sales) complete the Top 5, nestling either side of Dave.

In the albums chart, Irish newcomers Inhaler are going strong in No.1 spot, with 15,069 sales for their debut album It Won’t Always Be Like This. Of that total, 14,134 sales are physical, with 540 from downloads and 395 from streams. Olivia Rodrigo’s Sour (9,113 sales) and Muse’s reissued Origin Of Symmetry (4,826 sales) are also in the Top 3, ahead of Tom Odell’s new album Monsters (4,820 sales) and Queen’s Greatest Hits (4,056 sales)

Looks like 3 Lions is till No.1 without ACR, but of course sales and streams are now likely to tail off rapidly. Probably will be no.2 at the end without ACR (around 70,000 units), unless Olivia increases (she was on 67,161 by the end last week). I expect it will remain at 4 by the end...

Streams and sales for '3 Lions' will fall away very fast now, same for Atomic Kitten. Both will be top 20 on Friday though. 'Sweet Caroline' will still be top 30 and 'Vindaloo' top 40 on Friday.

Olivia will have the #1 album and #2 single on Friday. It's the last week in the top 5 for 'Good 4 U' unless its streams can suddenly increase. The track is on course for moving to ACR from Friday, which will affect its chart position next week.

Streams from Sunday will be added tomorrow (Tuesday) so all the football related tracks should get another boost for one final day (though paid-for sales will be zero) before dropping to almost zero.

So 3 Lions is probably no.1 without ACR (probably around 40-42,000 'sales'), but since it will probably get zero streams/sales from now, I don't think it'll 'really' be there by the end of the week. Probably be at 3 (unadjusted) depending on how Olivia and others hold up....

    Music Week

Inhaler are currently out in front in the race for No.1 with their debut album, It Won’t Always Be Like This (Polydor), based on the Midweek sales flash.

The Irish band’s album has so far moved 12,345 copies (including 11,667 physical units) in its first week, according to the Official Charts Company.

Last week’s No.1, Sour (Geffen/Polydor), by Olivia Rodrigo is currently in second place with 5,133 sales (4,649 from streams).

Muse’s 20th anniversary edition of Origin Of Symmetry (East West/Taste) is currently at No.3 (4,297 sales), ahead of Tom Odell’s Monsters (Columbia) on 3,867 sales.

After narrowly missing out on No.1 last week, Queen’s Greatest Hits (EMI) is down to No.5 (2,629), ahead of Doja Cat’s Planet Her (Ministry Of Sound) at No.6 (1,608) and Dua Lipa’s Future Nostalgia (Warner Records) at No.7 (1,568).

Another 20th anniversary edition, Turin Brakes’ The Optimist (Two-Piers), is chasing a Top 10 finish (No.9, 1,461).

In the singles chart, Ed Sheeran’s Bad Habits is still on top so far this week (38,336 sales). Three Lions by Baddiel, Skinner and The Lightning Seeds has surged 4-2 (24,400), though the sales only go up to midnight on Sunday so England’s Euros 2020 defeat will not be reflected in that result.

The highest new entry in the Midweek sales flash is Clash by Dave feat. Stormzy (Dave Neighbourhood) at No.4 (17,803). Stay by Kid Laroi & Justin Bieber (Columbia) is new at No.6 (13,534), while BTS are pushing for the Top 10 with new single Permission To Dance (Bighit) on 11,787.

Inhaler’s debut album It Won’t Always Be Like This heading for Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart

Plus Tom Odell is on course for the Top 5 with his new album Monsters.

    By Jack White
Take a deep breath Inhaler fans – the Irish rock band are on course for Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart with their debut album It Won’t Always Be Like This.

The Dublin quartet lead today’s Official Chart Update by over 7,000 chart sales having racked up the most physical and download sales this past weekend. Should Inhaler hold onto the top spot by Friday’s final chart, they’ll become the third Irish group to top the albums chart in the last decade, following The Script and Westlife.

Last week’s Number 1 SOUR by Olivia Rodrigo is the most streamed album of the week so far placing at 2, while Muse album Origin of Symmetry is on track for a return to the Top 5 at 3 following its XX Anniversary RemiXX edition release. The revamped offering was released digitally last month, with its vinyl rollout occurring last Friday (July 9).
MORE: Official Top 40 biggest albums of 2021 so far

On course for a fourth consecutive Top 10 album this week is former BRITs Critics’ Choice winner Tom Odell with his first record for three years Monsters at Number 5. Also eyeing up a Top 10 slot this week at Number 9 are folk rock group Turin Breaks with a reissue of their 2001 debut album The Optimist which originally peaked at Number 27.

After his singalong classic Sweet Caroline became an anthem for England fans during EURO 2020, Neil Diamond’s All-Time Greatest Hits is rebounding back to the Top 40 (19), a new S Club 7 hits collection Essential could become the pop act’s sixth Top 40 album and first for 18 years (25), and finally, Rolling Stones live album A Bigger Bang: Live On Copacabana could sneak into the Top 40 (36).

If England wins the EuroCup today the #01 will most likely be "Three Lions".
Is so strange to see Olivia holding on so much with a so uninspired song.

Billie Eillish seems to be slowing down a lot as #21 on mid-weeks means it may probably miss the TOP 40 this week.
