top 2 albums both modern versions of what was known as "coffee table music". Everything is so "tasteful" in 2021. Celeste's album is OK - at least it has some upbeat things on it. Not remotely impressed by any Arlo Parks playlisted songs.

Crikey, so 4 new releases in the top 5 - imagine if they weren't released, the #1 this week would probably break records given poor Harry is sitting at 2.1k.

I think in today’s climate those numbers are good for Celeste! She’s not quite mainstream enough to an Adele or Emeli.

    Good for Arlo Parks.

All that hype for Celeste (and a ridiculously long album pre-order - well over a year!) and those numbers seems ultimately underwhelming.

Wikipedia describes a sea shanty as

A sea shanty, chantey, or chanty is a type of traditional folk song that was once commonly sung as a work song to accompany rhythmical labor on board large merchant sailing vessels. The term shanty most accurately refers to a specific style of work song belonging to this historical repertoire. However, in recent, popular usage, the scope of its definition is sometimes expanded to admit a wider range of repertoire and characteristics, or to refer to a "maritime work song" in general.

A Scottish postman posted a video of himself on TikTok singing sea shanties, the Wellerman one went viral and he got noticed by Radio 1 amongst others. Scott Mills then got him on the show and organised 220 Kid to do a remix of the song which was released last week and now fronts TikTok’s latest advert. He’s now quit his job and has signed a deal with Polydor.

'Home'? It's nowhere to be seen though he's only had one album chart in the UK and that was the first ('Woman', #143 in 2013).
