Bicep and Bring Me The Horizon battle for Number 1 album with Isles and Post Human: Survival Horror
The Northern Irish electronic act and the Sheffield rock band are neck-and-neck midweek.
https://www.officialcharts.com/chart...horror__32273/
By Jack White
Bicep and Bring Me The Horizon are locked in a tight battle for Number 1 on this week’s Official Albums Chart with their respective collections Isles and Post Human: Survival Horror.
Just 103 chart sales separate the Northern Irish electronic duo and Sheffield rock giants on today’s Official Chart Update, with this week’s race for the top spot sure to go down to the wire.
The second studio album from Bicep – aka Andrew Ferguson and Matthew McBriar – Isles has scored the most downloads over the weekend and is the most-streamed new release of the week so far, putting the pair well on their way to a new personal best on the Official Chart this week. The pair’s self-titled debut album peaked at Number 20 in September 2017.
MORE: All the big albums confirmed for release in 2021
Bring Me The Horizon are narrowly behind at Number 2 with their apocalyptic EP Post Human: Survival Horror. The set charted at Number 5 upon its digital release last October with the CD, cassette and vinyl rollout potentially about to deliver the album a new peak position. Post Human has racked up the most physical sales so far this week. Their last album, Amo, went all the way to Number 1 in 2019 - could they nudge ahead and claim their second chart topper this week? See Bring Me The Horizon’s chart history.
Following his 80th birthday this past weekend and BBC special honouring the occasion, Neil Diamond’s All-Time Greatest Hits is set to return to the Top 40. Currently at Number 4, the retrospective topped out at Number 25 in 2015.
MORE: Official Top 40 biggest albums of 2020
Acoustic album Under A Mediterranean Sky from blues guitarist Steve Hackett is at Number 7 midweek, and a vinyl reissue of David Bowie’s 1975 album Station To Station is spurring it back into the Top 10 at Number 8. Norwegian folk group Wardruna could enter the Official Albums Chart for the very first time, presently at Number 10 with their fifth album Kvitravn.
Finally, a third successive Top 40 album could be on the cards for both Cambridge alt-rock group Lonely The Brave with The Hope List (20) and Australian-American rock band The Dead Daisies with Holy Ground (36).

Radio 1 credited all the remix people on Wellerman but i don't know how OCC are crediting it. His original version is just him and both versions are popular.
EDIT: confirmed that they are just crediting Evans https://www.officialcharts.com/chart...lerman__32272/
Just outside the Top 20 after 48 hours at Number 21 is London rapper Fredo with Back To Basics, a track taken from his upcoming album Money Can’t Buy Happiness.Last edited by Blondini; Sun January 24, 2021, 19:02.

This is why i always edit chart posts to make everything look on the same level. I even make all the "&"s into "and"s. Although thankfully BuzzJack doesn't do the block capitals thing much in the weekly thread so most of the editing involves re-arranging the featured acts so they are alongside the main acts and not part of the titles.
And the lower case thing is also annyong. If something is a title it automatically should start with a capital letter - unless it's "iTunes" or "eBook" something like that.
No such thing as kd lang, no such thing as folklore or evermore (i love both albums, i love her but she's not gonna make me shift on this). This pretend humility versus this shouting from the rooftops. It's nuts.
I've ranted on all this before and i'm not having a go at anyone here, it was just an honest reaction to a particular week of shouting.
And surely we can agree that the weekly chart threads look uniformed and neat by avoiding the stylisations? Everyone is treated as equals, nobody is allowed to stand out or hide.Yes, that includes you, Olivia! (i don't correct the spelling of the word "license" of course because it's correct in her country)

I don't think ACR/SCR is applied to top 100 only. Imagine if the track run was like:
40 (SCR) -56 (SCR) -67 (SCR) -99 (SCR) - 101 (SCR?) -100 (SCR) -99 (SCR) - 99 (SCR) - 99 (SCR) -120 (ACR) - 50 (+25% increase= reset to SCR?)
I don't know if this is the way how it can work

The OCC only officially publish the Top 100 ACR-adjusted chart, so logically this would be what the rules are based on, otherwise there is no transparency to how they apply their rules and its all a big fiddle! Of course the charts are complied for the music industry and not us, and we know that they compile a non-ACR chart and probably compile a chart that includes every single song that has had at least one stream or sale for internal use. Some of the music industry perhaps do get to see the unadulterated charts and/or a top 200/500 or whatever number they wish to go down to, meaning that those in the music industry may know when/why the rules are applied and in that sense I guess it doesn't have to be only the top 100...Last edited by braindeadpj; Wed January 20, 2021, 00:24.
