I’m surprised the OCC haven’t siphoned the Christmas songs off into a singles chart of their own by now so they can further tamper with it cos it doesn’t suit what they want it to look like.

Woahhhh... if the chart stays similar to this, we can definitely expect the OCC to change the rules by next year, this will be a very strange chart show on Friday

I’m surprised the Shane Codd song hasn’t cracked the top 10 yet, it’ll surely climb in to it in the coming weeks.

Well, Christmas Tree Farm is in the mids!(won't be there by Friday).
These mids are probably the most misleading mids ever posted. Nobody is buying or streaming Christmas songs and albums beyond Boxing Day.
Ed Sheeran 29 (should be at least top 10 by Friday) .
Comin' Over Here 89 (might be top 40).
Buble has the top album - Taylor might grab it again or Dua retakes it.
Macca's drop might not be so great...Last edited by Blondini; Tue December 29, 2020, 17:05.

It will be interesting to see by how much the chart changes on Friday. The above update will largely be based on streaming data from Friday and Saturday.

I wonder which songs are going to fill the gaps left behind from Christmas, are we going to see Ed Sheeran's Perfect and Lewis Capaldi back in the top 40
I reckon we might see some of those that have been hanging down a bit further get their shot now, like Shane Codd, Harry's Golden, Nathan Dawe/LM, Jason DeRulo, maybe even Jerusalema.

Mariah would be a nice No. 1 to leave the year with but this anti-Brexit track would be a fitting sentiment indeed.

Could even be another week for Mariah... seeing these streaming numbersAround 2.500.000 Spotify plays on December 25 and 300k again on December 26 is huge... and the current numbers (not more than 200-250k per day for positions) seem like nobody can catch up to this anymore... so only a huge number of downloads will matter, most likely.

Hopefully we’ll get a midweeks update at some point in the next couple of days - Sheeran will probably end up #1 if his digital sales are strong enough (his U.K. streaming numbers thus far aren’t that impressive, at least on Spotify).

No mids info but after the Christmas number one campaigns we now have a "Brexit number one campaign" and - as you can see from our iTunes thread - there is currently one contender. Asian Dub Foundation ft Stewart Lee.

They have to get past Ed Sheeran who is above them on iTunes.

It doesn't look like we're getting a First Look. Radio 1 are doing a biggest songs of 2020 so far even though it's saying "First Look" on the Sounds player.
