Jack Harlow and Harry Styles enter close race for Number 1 this week

Can Jack score his first-ever UK Number 1 single with First Class?
    By George Griffiths
Jack Harlow and Harry Styles have entered a very tight battle for Number 1 in the UK this week.

Kentucky rapper Jack is currently leading the charge at Number 1 with First Class (which samples Fergie’s Glamorous), which would become his first-ever chart-topper here.

But with less than 2,000 chart sales between the two a week left, it’s still all to play for.

Can Harry and the record-setting As It Was close the gap? Keep your eyes peeled on OfficialCharts.com for all the updates.
MORE: Jack Harlow's Official Charts history in full

Pink Floyd are on track to make a startling return to the Official Charts. Hey, Hey, Rise Up! featuring Ukrainian singer Andriy Khlyvnyuk could debut at Number 5. It would be the band’s first UK Top 10 single in 43 years - since Another Brick Wall hit Number 1 in 1979.

David Guetta, Ella Henderson and Becky Hill could also be on track for a Top 20 debut, with their collaborative single Crazy What Love Can Do currently at Number 16.

The Official Singles Chart Top 100 is revealed on OfficialCharts.com every Friday at 5.45pm. Follow the Top 40 countdown live on BBC Radio 1’s Official Chart show with Scott Mills.

As It Was has racked up 57,822 sales so far, over twice as many as erstwhile No.1 Starlight by Dave, which falls to No.2 (26,684 sales). Aitch and Ashanti's Baby holds at No.3 (24,641 sales), ahead of Lost Frequencies/Calum Scott's Where Are You Now (17,827 sales) in at No.4, and Fireboy DML & Ed Sheeran’s Peru (17,548 sales) in at No.5.

It's a similar story in the albums chart: Red Hot Chili Pepper's 12th studio album Unlimited Love is the unambiguous frontrunner, posting 24,569 sales. Ed Sheeran's =, at No.2, trails in its wake with 4,230 sales, and last week's No.1, Michael Bublé's Higher, falls 1-3 (3,202 sales). Olivia Rodrigo's Sour feels the benefit of its Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album, rising 8-4 and posting 2,961 sales, pushing ArrDee's Pier Pressure into fifth (2,730 sales). A strong performance in the singles chart boosts Harry Styles' Fine Line from 28-6 (2,590 sales).

Red Hot Chili Peppers on course to claim fifth UK Number 1 album with Unlimited Love

The Wanted’s Greatest Hits collection heading for Top 10 following Tom Parker’s passing.
    By Carl Smith
Unlimited Love is on track become Red Hot Chili Peppers’ fifth UK Number 1 album this week as it outsells its closest competition by almost 8:1.

Currently leading on weekend sales, Red Hot Chili Peppers’ twelfth studio album Universal Love is flying ahead on physical formats. If it holds on, it will become the group’s first Official Number 1 album in over a decade; their last being 2011’s I’m With You. See Red Hot Chili Peppers’ full Official Charts History here.

Unlimited Love also sees the band reunite with guitarist John Frusciante, who left Red Hot Chili Peppers in 2009. He last appeared on the group’s 2006 Number 1 album Stadium Arcadium.

Another new entry in the Top 5 comes courtesy of Swedish extreme metal group Meshuggah, with their ninth studio album Immutable landing at Number 5 midweek. If it maintains its position, Immutable will become the band’s first ever UK Top 10 album, with their previous peak being 2016’s The Violent Sleep of Reason (32). See Meshuggah’s Official Charts history in full.

Elsewhere in the Top 10, Harry Styles’ 2019 album Fine Line vaults 22 places up the Official Albums Chart following the release of his new single As It Was; taken from upcoming third studio album Harry’s House to be released next month. Harry’s 2017 solo debut Harry Styles could also soar back into the Top 40 this week, at Number 35.

The Wanted’s Most Wanted: The Greatest Hits returns to the Top 10 following the tragic death of member Tom Parker, who passed away aged 33 last week. Upon its original release in 2021, the collection became the group’s fourth UK Top 10 album, succeeding 2010’s The Wanted (4), 2011 record Battleground (5) and 2013 release Word of Mouth (9).

The Top 40 sees two further potential new entries. Essex-born rapper French the Kid’s debut mixtape Never Been Ordinary is on course to enter at Number 21, while Hannah Peel & Paraorchestra’s collaborative project The Unfolding also looks set to score a strong debut at Number 30.

Harry Styles heading for second UK Number 1 with As It Was set to make huge debut

As It Was is set to make a huge debut on the Official Singles Chart.
    By Admin
Harry Styles’ As It Was is set to make a massive debut on the Official Singles Chart this week as it heads straight for Number 1.

After 48 hours, As It Was has more than double the chart sales of its closest competition - reigning Number 1 Starlight by Dave – and is well on its way to becoming Harry’s second solo UK Number 1 single, following 2017’s Sign Of The Times. The new track is the first release from the former One Direction member’s upcoming third solo album; find out everything we know about Harry’s House here.

American rapper Lil Tjay is heading for his fourth UK Top 40 entry with In My Head, eyeing up a Number 14 debut.

Becky Hill and Galantis continue to scale new heights with their collaboration Run. In the Official Chart: First Look the track is set to rise three to a new peak of Number 19, potentially Becky Hill’s tenth Top 20 hit and Galantis’ sixth.

Michael Buble, Placebo and Machine Gun Kelly go head to head in the race for this week’s Number 1 albume

Plus Foo Fighters prepare to re-enter the Top 5 mid-week following the death of drummer Taylor Hawkins.
    By George Griffiths
Michael Bublé, Placebo and Machine Gun Kelly are entering into a close battle for the UK’s Number 1 album this week.

Canadian crooner’s Bublé’s first new album in four years, Higher is currently leading the race to top the Official Albums Chart, though British rock duo Placebo’s eighth studio album Never Let Me Go is only a few hundred copies behind at Number 2.

If Higher were to maintain its lead, it would be Bublé’s fifth UK Number 1 album following Crazy Love (2009), Christmas (2011), To Be Loved (2013) and Love (2018). See Michael Buble’s Official Charts history in full here. However if Placebo can overtake with Never Let Me Go it would mark Placebo’s first-ever chart-topping album in the UK - find out some more chart facts about Placebo here.

At the midweek mark, Machine Gun Kelly’s fourth album Mainstream Sellout (3) is the UK’s most-streamed album of the week so far, putting the rapper firmly in with a shot of this week’s Official Albums Chart crown.

Following the sad news this weekend that Foo Fighters’ drummer Taylor Hawkins has died aged 50, the band’s Greatest Hits vaults 72 places all the way into the midweek Top 5 at Number 4, while live album Skin And Bones could also take a spot in the Top 40 at Number 36. More on this here.

Meanwhile, Jamaican reggae artist Koffee is heading for her first Official UK Albums Chart entry with debut album Gifted (6), and former Bros member Matt Goss could score his first solo Top 10 album with The Beautiful Unknown (7).

English rock band Stone Foundation could also gain their first Top 10 entry with Outside Looking In at Number 9, while indie icon Bon Iver could see his influential second album Bon Iver, Bon Iver return to the chart at Number 10 thanks to a 10th anniversary reissue. It previously peaked at Number 4 in 2011.

Outside the Top 10, New Zealand folk singer-songwriter Aldous Harding’s fourth record Warm Chris could be her highest-charting yet (18), while electronic musician Jon Hopkins is another new entry with Music For Psychedelic Therapy (30).

Finally, rock band Loop are looking to earn their second UK Top 40 album with Sonancy, tracking to debut at Number 40.
