Do you have Jeremy Jordan? He had only one album (Try my Love), one remix album "Jeremy The Remix" (released only in Japan) and four singles ("The Right Kinda Love", "Wannagirl", "Try My Love" and "My Love is Good Enough".) all released between 1993/1994.

I Searched the Japanese Chart Archive before Asking. The Links for Rolling Stones And Elvis don't Work. Hollies and Sinatra aren't mentioned at all. I even can't find the Artists Names with the Search-Option in the Forum

Funny - I've seen TV shows in Australia where she talks about "big" success in Japan. I wonder what she is referring to.

In fact, the record I saw is not even japanese, it's an import. A duet with Col Joyce.
Her name is written this way: ?????????
In Cashbox, they say, her first tour occurred in january 1969. her first single promoted by Teichiku was "And the trouble with me is you" on Monument record.
Did that mean they promoted an import??? There are no record of her currently on Yahoo Japan.

It's not always easy to evaluate success in japan. After reading intensively Billboard, Cashbox, as I did, then Japanese magazines, tour books, you have to admit that all is not "on the charts". Julien Clerc, Yves Simon, Mireille Mathieu, all had there moment in Japan. What did it mean? 10.000/20.000 records or more, or less?
The more you learn about Japanese audience, the more you realize that they are the same as us, except that when they love a singer, they are going to see him perform live. But to perform, you need to represent something, first.
You also learn that business is prevalent. They don't want to loose money LOL

                                              Herby,

The Spotnicks appears only in the Music Life Charts in 1966. They came to early to make the oricon charts and actually, I don't know if they are featured in Cashbox charts.

As Grendizer says, The Spotnicks charted too early for Oricon. They charted in 65-6 in Music Life Magazine. Those charts are here on UK Mix so you can search for them under that heading. In summary though:

                                                Karelia 11/65 (1)
The Last Space Train 02/66 (2)
                                                Dreamin' Guitar 06/66 (25)

They also charted in something called "Record Monthly":

                                                Karelia 31/10/65 (1)
The Last Space Train 31/01/66 (1)
                                                Sentimental Guitar 28/05/66 (8)
                                                Dreamin' Guitar 30/07/66 (12)

There was also a Golden Hit Parade on Radio JORF:

                                                Karelia 03/10/65 (6)

                                                And on JOKR, Tokyo

                                                Karelia 30/10/65 (6)

                                                And on JOQR:

                                                Karelia 01/11/65 (2)

JOQR also had a "requests" chart:

                                                Karelia 21/10/65 (15)

There are probably other early charts too, but these are the only ones I've found for The Spotnicks.

                                                Regards
                                                Cato
