  • Number one hits in Zimbabwe

I'm in contact with a man named Eric Stazzu who has a blog dedicated to singles charts (to which I gave some Israeli and Turkish charts), which can be viewed here:
    http://artisteschartsventes.blogspot.co.il/
He gave me a scan of the list of number one hits from the official Zimbabwean chart book (which is out of print to the best of my knowledge), and it is the full list for 1965-1996, so...here it is!
I should note that in the 60's and early 70's the chart included both singles and LP's, but later on it included singles only.

Any information provided for their album charts?

I only have ABBA's thanks to the ABBA charts website.
“B**** come here! B**** come here! B**** come here!”

I don't think there ever was a separate albums chart in Zimbabwe. As I understand it, first it was a combined chart of both singles and albums, and then just a singles chart with no albums chart.

Am I right in thinking their charts were similar to those say of the Pirate Stations here and were radio based with no sales involved?

according to the book's introduction, it was based on retail sales in shops called "record bars" until the mid 90's when the production of singles was discontinued and the chart was based on airplay.
