          • I'm with oldbloke on this one. Normally one should wait at least a month after Grammys (when sales tend to pick up). Besides Spring time-frame is best time to start.

              This is what? Week 6?

                        • Have a question about riaa certification;
                          If people in Canada, or any other country other than the US stream or purchase an album, does it count towards RIAA Certification?

                          Comment

                          • If you buy or stream it in Canada,then it has nothing to do with the RIAA in U.S(however Canada also has RIAA).If you buy an album in U.S and have it sent to Canada,it will count by RIAA in U.S

                            • Canada's equivalent is Music Canada what used to be CRIA Canada's certification levels were lowered effective May 1st 2008 to 40,000 gold 80,000 platinum 800,000 diamond where as RIAA's haven't changed in 30 years other than the addition of the diamond award in 1999 for sales in excess of 10,000,000 and the Latin certifications program in 2000 which has had it's levels adjusted 3 x since to it's currently levels 30 k gold 60 K platinum 600,000 diamond an example or a high certified Latin Album is Selena's Dreaming Of You which is nearly 60 x Latin Platinum last certified in November 2017 when she received her star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame nearly 23 years after her death DOY turns 25 in July 2020

                                • Thanks,

                                  So are the numbers above, or the numbers on the year end chart on the previous page Worlwide sales? Or are the billboard charts US sales.

                                  I seen somewhere that Look Alive has 766 million audio + visual streams so 766million/150 streams = 5.1 million equivalent sales but it is only 3x platinum by RIAA. Would that be because only 3 million equivalent sales were in the US?

                                          Estimated SPS was 275,000 at the end of 2018, which only includes audio streams -RIAA certifications also include video streams.

                                          Sorry for the late reply.

                                            Well "Thriller" & "Essential" were his biggest sellers of 2018 and are #s 14 & 44 on the catalog list posted on page 39.

                                            "Dangerous" has sold around 6.5m. It's one of the albums where the original release and the digital remaster have separate totals in the SoundScan database.

                                            "History" was on sales of 1.18m as of August 2010, the last leaked SoundScan number saw.

                                            "Xscape" finished on the 2014 YE listing at #33 with estimated sales of 459,000. I'd guess it's over 500,000 by now.

                                            I don't have the streaming info,

                                                  Nothing more recent than you have already - last SoundScan numbers I saw date back to 2008. I guess you already checked the numbers from chartmasters.
