      • The things I've seen from their Wikipedia article kinda scared me ...

abdon, why was the result unexpected to you? Their last album peaked at No. 55 and for these types of artists an increase is quite normal. We've actually seen even more extreme differences between albums, e.g. The Head And The Heart (debut album: No. 109, second album: No. 10) or Volbeat (4th album: No. 142, 5th album: No. 9).
Je n'ai qu'une philosophie: Être acceptée comme je suis. Malgré tout ce qu'on me dit, je reste le poing levé.

        • I´m so agree with you Timmy !! but please this is very extreme Metal !!! Black/Death/Pagan Metal !!! even though I´m not so addicted to Black Metal (I mean Blood, satan, Sacrifice and rituals) some songs are actually very Possessive and good!! no matter how evil could have been.
Anyways Hope many extreme bands can land with this sales more oftenly!! we already seen this with Cannibal Corpse and some legendary Thrash metal Bands !! maybe Black metal can change this.
But that's the way I like it baby I don't want to live forever
          and don't forget the joker

I just watched one of their tracks/videos on youtube after reading about them here. Track was called "Blow Your Trumpet Gabriel" and well, it was different, didn't mind the music, find the vocals a bit laughable, but the video is nuts, especially from about 2:45 onwards!

Did Miley and ID have big discounts? I can't imagine that VD alone could explain doubling sales.

                                                  Candice Glover (19/Interscope) 17-19k

                                                  (2/19p)
Even winning American Idol cannot generate decent album opening sales.

                                                  • Well Lee already showed that a few years ago with his 39k debut, but now comes a lower place...

I wonder if Alex & Sierra of X Factor 'fame' will do any better, since they did get iTunes #1s and all?

X-Factor has now been cancelled in the US though, so the show won't produce any more acts. Alex & Sierra could do better but the bar is set very low! Season 1 winner Melanie Amaro never even released an album and Season 2 winner Tate Stevens got dropped by his label already due to poor sales.

Yesterday, it looked like Eric Church would likely repeat at #1, but at the moment it's really too close to call—although we've given a slight edge to Disney’s ST. Here's how it looks headed into the weekend:

                                                        • Frozen is really holding well... But I thought Eric Church's 2nd week drop would've been a bit milder, maybe something between 100 and 120k, 75k would indicate a drop of 74%.

Overall sales seem to be very low... Just a little effort could give your album a major boost on the charts, I would say that competition isn't very strong at the moment but danbarj wouldn't like to read this I guess .
