Today's my birthday, but yet another sad day for music with the passing announced of Leonard Cohen, whose You Want it Darker - the title cut from his final album - is a breaker this week, set to enter next time out. Meanwhile, another of 2016's major casualties, David Bowie, has a double-header debuting at #30. Radiohead's domination is over for now, however, with Present Tense relinquishing the top slot and Identikit finally dropping out after four months. Strong upward movement this week from top London bands The Duke Spirit (+18) and relative newcomers Francobollo (+17)...

Ohhh very nice to hear that "Familiar" is one of your faves as well on the album. Love that song!

As for this week, i obviously like to see Agnes spending another week at #1.

It has indeed - a fairly depressing year all round, some might say... Good to see Agnes O holding steady in your singles/albums listings too, however. (I like the performance certifications, too - nice idea, that.)

New Top 40 on its way...

'Ethereal' is the watchword as the shimmering neo-classical stylings of Agnes Obel give way to the arch, alternative dream-pop of The Duke Spirit at number one. (Meanwhile, those new champions of the glamorous and grotesque, Francobollo twitch curtains at number three.) At #16, Coldcut and Roots Manuva become only the third act since the chart re-animated in August to boast a Top 20 entry: Radiohead (#15 with Present Tense - 15/10/16) and Pixies (#18 with Tenement Song - 10/9/16) were the others. The curious Soft Hair have the week's biggest climber at #24. Anyway, enough musing and blather - here's the chart...
