Aw, that Glee Cast spotlight made me remember how much I love their "Singing in the Rain/Umbrella" mash-up. It's brilliant! Their "Let It Be" cover was terrific too and I also enjoyed their "Hey Jude" interpretation; I thought that scene was so sweet.
"Rather Be" is a good song, but "Purple Rain" is a huge classic! That's my sister's favourite song so I've heard it quite a bit over the years and I've grown to love it too.

Midweek: Mariah Carey's next impacting smash hit Your Mine along its remix with Trey Songz is on the way to shake up the weekly top 10. How far can Carey rise this time around? The late release date might prevent the songbird from snatching her 5th consecutive #1 debut. The Fox by Glee is currently leading all songs with 113 spins into the week.

MPSA #07 of 2014
Glee is the Sound
The cast of Glee made it again. Our favourite showchoir debuts at #1 this week, even surpassing Mariah Carey, with their hit-cover of Ylvis' The Fox. The Fox has amassed 123 spins in the first week, 3 times more of what You're Mine. However, the Mariah tune only had 1,5 days of airplay. Over on the albums chart, Dan & Pip continue to smash the competition. Justin Timberlake makes surprising re-visits with both of his 2013 comeback releases.

I actually haven't even heard the Glee Cast cover of "The Fox".I should probably get around to that soon. I did see the "Nasty/Rhythm Nation" mash-up and I LOVED it. Jake's dancing is really impressive and he is so cute too!
Mariah's new song is alright, but I'm not crazy about it. "Dance With My Father" is a classic. I hate hearing it sometimes, though.

Midweek Chart:
Carey On
Mariah Carey is about to repeat history. The chart queen could place three singles in the top 3 this week again. Carey previously achieved this remarkable feature in 2012 when Triumphant and two of its remixes occupied the entire top 3 as well. Whitney Houston is the only other female artist who achieved this record prior to Carey. In the week of her passing, Houston occupied 17 out of the top 20 positions. Katy B pushed ahead of Dan & Pip on the albums chart now. Can Little Red become her first ever charting album, and a #1 debut on top of that?

Katy A+'s new album is amazing, don't know the deluxe tracks, but the standard is amazing. Everything is my favorite, followed by 5AM. Emotions and Still are also among my favorites. Actually, every track is among my favorites.
Sam Smith's song is okayish, growing on me slowly, though I don't think it'll ever chart on my chart
