Stevyy's Chart :: 21/2023 :: Paradise is Here, Tina Turner gets her first #1
Seems like last week was not a true representation of the 20/20 era. The album now is head to head for the #1 position with Bosse's Kraniche. Both albums will be registering 200 plays this week. Therefore, they also fight hard for the #1 position of the singles chart. Over the weekend Justin pushed himself ahead of Alter Affe Angst - the chart's current runnder-up. But the difference is too small to project the winner. Far behind, we see OneRepublic. Native is up for third place, while Hurts will most likely find a new home at #4. Over on the singles chart, we see another Glee rendition making some noise as well. "Closer" will be the TV show's next top 10 hit. The question is how high the song can debut. And where will Mimi be? Early indications suggest, lower in the top 20. The current #1 song has fallen completely off the radar over the weekend.
Great to see Mariah still at the top though and I do like those two JT tracks. I only listened to the first half of the album but "Don't Hold The Wall" was an instant favourite.
1.(1) Mariah Carey - Almost Home
13.(new) Justin Timberlake - Tunnel Vision
14.(2) Emeli Sandé - Heaven (Live from the Royal Albert Hall)
15.(4) The Script - Hall of Fame
19.(new) Justin Timberlake - Strawberry Bubblegum
It was a head on head sprint to the finish line this week, but Justin Timberlake secures the double #1 this week, as Tunnel Vision sours to #1 with greatest gainer credit. Glee had some very close almost #1's this season, but Closer was def. the closest of them all. Bosse completes the top three with last week's runner-up dropping one to #3. Mariah started to gain towards the middle of the week, but it was too late for Almost Home to stay within the top 5. This week marks the song's 5th consecutive week inside the top 10.

From what I've heard from the album so far, The 20/20 Experience has far surpassed my expectations. I suppose this doesn't mean much as I didn't have any sort of high expectations to begin with but...I'll just say that the first half (what I've heard) is terrific! Nice to see the Glee Cast cover "Closer" enter so high too and I suppose they're also to thank for that re-entry for "Super Bass"!

UKmix new favourite alternative/rock band Imagine Dragons re-enter this week with a bang. Radioactive steals the #1 this week from Tunnel Vision and with the parent album re-entering at #2. In the end, Justin's lead was too strong to kick him from the #1 on the albums chart, but Imagine Dragons are coming hard.

Couldn't be happier to see Imagine Dragons at #1 instead of that overrated Timberlake.
