Love Bastille!
Pompeii is absolutely fantastic, but my favourite on the album's got to be Things We Lost In The Fire, sad that that one didn't chart, I hope it becomes a single at some point.

Exceptional #1! It's so much better than Mariah's latest release. Great to have "Triumphant (Get 'Em)" back. I know it's an unpopular opinion but I think it's actually a stronger song than "#Beautiful". Oh, and it's always nice when "Let The Groove Get In" resurfaces.

Bastille²

Bastille stay on top of both charts, but this week the #1 song changes. Bastille just collected their second consecutive #1 hit with Things we lost in the fire. Mariah & Miguel stay stable at #2 while the second highest new entry comes from Capital Cities. Timberlake is back at #2 on the albums chart, which is the album's highest position in over a month. Jessie Ware won't let Imagine Dragons overtake her album Devotions as the reigning album of the year. Jessie rises from 8 to 3. Next week marks the debut of Kanye West's new album Yeezus which might very well destroy the competition. Kanye just recently lost AA status, but he could very well earn it back - probably with Yeezus.

Excellent #1. It's actually a close call between "Pompeii" and "Things We Lost In The Fire" for my favourite song from Bastille. Good to see that debut for Capital Cities and "Fix You" is one of Coldplay's greatest concoctions.

Mayer's Doll

Rock legend John Mayer does it again. The American sunnyboy debuts straight at #1 with his new single Paper Doll. Paper Doll is the first cut from his soon to be released next studio album. Mayer last took the airwaves by storm last year when Born and Raised led the chart for three straight weeks. Paper Doll is his first chart leader since A Face to Call Home from 2012. Over on the albums chart Kanye West is the week's hot shot debut. The rap icon lands directly at #1, pushing Bastille down one spot to #2.



Mayer's biggest hit was the 5 consecutive chart topper "Assassin" in 2010, which became one of the most played tracks in my charts history.
