Avicii make it big this week, by debuting directly at #1 on the singles chart. The song which is crowned as the Song of the Summer in Germany confirms this accolade on my chart as well. Besting Jahmene Douglas was as close as it gets. Jahmene's debut album debuts straight at #1 with several songs debuting on the singles chart as well. John Mayer's latest single Wildfire makes a healthy entry at #15.

This week we celebrate new thresholds on LastFM. Canadian rap star Drake finally breaks the 500 plays barrier, becoming the 19th artist to do so. I think I've entered a new phase of super obsession, this time with Kings of Leon. It happened before with The Killers and then John Mayer who had occasional hits in my world, but it wasn't until one point in their careers that they mesmerized me and I invested time to thoroughly discover their discographies. The same thing might be happening again this year with Kings of Leon.
