Second Chance
Imagine Dragons get a second chance at #1 this week as the song of the same name advances to #1 while former #1 single Shots shoots back up to number 2. Last week's number one What Kind of Man slips down four spots and lands at #5. Over on the albums chart, Noel Gallagher loses his pole position to Madonna, who re-claims the crown with Rebel Heart and a massive 194 plays, only a heartbeat more than Noel's Chasing Yesterday LP. The undisputed returnée of the week, however, is Janet jackson who places four albums of her discography inside the top 20.

Madonna to the second power
Madonna - Queen of Pop - and best selling artist of all times finally completes the double. For the first time in the history of my chart, Madonna owns the #1 single and #1 album in the same week, as "Unapologetic Bitch" makes a huge leap from not charting at all last week to number one this week. Rebel Heart increased its plays as well and comfortably sits at #1 on the albums charts as well. Imagine Dragons also continue to set the airways on fire, with holding the runner-up position on both charts this week. Returnée of the week is Paolo Nutini who re-enters both charts in the top 5. New debuts this week show some diversity and healthy overall spins. Leading the pack of three is Kendrick Lamar who scores his first charting album with "To Pimp a Butterfly" which debuts at number 5. British Boyband Blue enter right behind him at #6 while New Zealand's own Queen of Music Gin Wigmore enters at number fourteen with her debut album from 2009.

Love all these entries. Rebel Heart is such a great album. I'm glad I checked it out. UB, RH (track), LFL are among my fave tracks. Imagine Dragons' too, ICBTY is my fave track, along with Shots (which is flawless) and IBML. Bittersweet Symphony is a song that reminds me of my high school days. WKOM is something I never expected I would like tbh.
Glad to see MIAM is still getting regular spins. Great chart!

Flowers strikes back majorly. The frontman of The Killers is set to debut at #1 this week with his new single "Can't Deny My Love". The song is currently outperforming the entire top 10 combined, as it pushes ahead of the rolling week's #2 by 3:1. The big question is, can Brandon Flowers top the biggest debut of 2015 which currently belongs to Florence + The Machine's "What Kind of Man" (91 plays) and the year's biggest one week streaming total by Imagine Dragon's "Shots" (122 plays)? The alltime record of my previous chart (MPSA) stands at 293 plays in a seven day period, held by Rudimental ft. John Newman "Feel The Love" (2012).

Therefore, Flowers takes home the year to date record with "can't Deny" as the biggest debut of 2015, surpassing "What Kind of Man". Next stop "Shots" by Imagine Dragons (122 plays). Madonna - Queen of Pop - has overtaken Coldplay as the fourth most streamed artist during the LastFM era (2011-). Coldplay advanced to #3 shortly after Ghost Stories had leaked, got pushed down by Paolo Nutini in summer of 2014 and now have to settle for fifth place. But the pressure won't let up as Imagine Dragons are only 250 scrobbles behind while increasing 100-150 plays a week. In the coming weeks, Madonna is destined to surpass Nutini as well in order to re-claim her once owned third rank.

Can't Deny My Love
Brandon Flowers has set the charts on fire this week, debuting at #1 with the biggest one-week-airplay-total of 2015, standing at 182 plays. That sum is as much as the following 4 entries combined. In the ten year history of my chart, only three songs debuted bigger: Say It Right (Nelly Furtado), We Belong Together (Mariah Carey) and Feel The Love (Rudimental ft. John Newman). His power is also responsible for catapulting his debut album back into the top 10 (#7), as well as the last album by his band, The Killers (#14). Florence, who previously to Flowers owned the record for biggest debut of 2015, bows in at #2 with her newly released song "Saint Jude".
