          • #40.(70) Snow Patrol

Snow Patrol released another album this year which featured the #2 single This Isn't Everything you are.

            #39.(7) The Killers

A great fall for The Killers. last year they rocked my world with their Live album/dvd Live from the Royal Albert Hall. The album re-entered the top 10 several times last year.

            #38.(new) Ed Sheeran

British newcomer Ed Sheeran had a #1 hit last year with Drunk. Another song, Lego House, is going to debut in the top 5 on tomorrow's edition of my singles chart.

            #37.(new) Ardian Bujupi

Ardian Bujupi came it at #3 on the last DSDS (German Idol) season. He is by far my most played DSDS contestant of all seasons. He's also the highest ranked German artist of 2011.

            #36.(46) Whitney Houston

Queen Whitney never left my yearly top 75, it's her 8th consecutive year. She's an icon and in 2011 I still couldn't get enough of I look to You (album) which re-peaked at #1.

            #35.(new) Chris Brown

I cannot believe I played his album so much to get him into my top 40. I usually can't stand him because of the Rhi incident. But his album was hot.

            #34.(new) Noel Gallagher

Oasis is a big name on my chart but 2011 was all about Noel Gallagher. His solo album is one of the best rock albums of 2011.

            #33.(34) Nicki Minaj

Nicki Minaj made a huge debut last year and she even rises 1 spot in 2011. She's def. hot.

            #32.(25) OneRepublic

They had one song on the final of the song of the decade noms chart and belong to my top bands since they debuted on my chart in 2008.

            #31.(new) George Harrison

George Harrison is my favourite Beatle last year. My Sweet Lord was one of the biggest hits of 2011.

            #30.(47) Nelly Furtado

It was her Greatest Hits album that accounts for most of her charting points. Say It Right grabs the #1 spot on my Most Played Songs since 2004 list.

            #29.(new) Engineers

Their debut album of the same name became my first digital album purchase. Home went straight to #1 for a second time after I watched the finale of Big Love.

            #28.(new) Bruno Mars

Bruno debuted this year and made a very promising entry in early 2011 with getting both his album and one song to #1. His collabo with Lil' Wayne was a huge hit too. It will rain flopped though.

            #27.(19)Limp Bizkit

Limp Bizkit have fallen from grace and barely anyone seems to remember them but the Germans. Here, their album debuted at #1 and had a great chart-life. Shark Attack is currently placed on the single chart.

            #26.(new) Dave Matthews Band

DMB had a huge revival this year. I cannot explain why. But it has something to do with Live8 which I watched again and Dave Matthews did a great performance there.

Before I continue with the 2011 YEC, I have to release the first edition of 2012's chart. Amy Winehouse still goes strong. James Vincent McMorrow scores two Top 10 singles this week while Ed Sheeran makes a grand return, too. Runaway by Will Young celebrates another week in the Top 10. The song debuted in october 2011 and has never left the top 20.

Janet stayed in the spotlight throughout 2011. She's one of the biggest artists of all times on my chart.

                                            #24.(new) Matt Cardle

Matt debuted this year with one of the best classic pop albums.

                                            #23.(new) Adele

She was the biggest selling artist of 2011. She did not have so much luck on my chart. Her album 21 peaked at #2.

                                            #22.(26) Mumford & Sons

Unfortunately, their success was splitted between 2010 and 2011. That is why no. #22 on this year's YEC is their absolute highest position ever. Thristle & Weeds reached #1 last year.

                                            #21.(57) Katy Perry

Katy Perry makes a huge jump thanks to her mega hit E.T. Her debut album was one of my favourite albums of 2008 but Teenage Dream left me cold, until I re-discovered it. It was a #1 album last year.

                                            #20.(re) Lil' Wayne

His look still scares me. Tha Carter IV is better than Tha Carter III.

                                            #19.(14) The Black Eyed Peas

The BEP were hugher than huge in 2009 with The E.N.D. Their 2010 released album The Beginning continued to bring them two more #1 hits in 2011.

                                            #18.(new) Olly Murs

Who cannot fall in love with those eyes? His debut and sophomore release made my top 10 this year. He just currently became my 10th most played artist ever on LastFm.

                                            #17.(re) Britney Spears

#21 was her biggest year end result 2009. Britney has never been any more successful than last year. TTWE is one of the biggest hits ever.

                                            #16.(1) Robbie Williams

2011 hasn't been his year, except for his amazing performances with Take That. Robbie is supposed to release a new album later this year which is one of the most anticipated projects of 2012. His last solo album Reality Killed the Video Star was the second most played album of 2010.

                                                    #14.(50) Jay-Z

Jay-Z had his breakthrough year in 2011. Watch The Throne became a smash.

                                                    #13.(new) Plan B

Plan B debuted in 2011 on my chart. The Brit stayed in the YE Top 10 for almost all of the year until he dropped off in the 4th quarter.

                                                    #12.(3) Mariah Carey

The curse is over. Mariah Carey drops out of the top 10 for the first time ever. Mariah and Robbie dominate my chart like no one else. They both cracked over 1,500 points and rank 1st and 2nd on the alltime list. Is this the end of her domniance?

                                                    #11.(13) Maroon 5

His hotness Adam Levine is resonsible for a very successful year of one of my alltime favourite bands, Maroon 5.

                                                    #9.(5) Drake

Since last year Drake is one of the hottest new artists. Thank Me Later belongs to my most played albums of all times. Take Care is an incredible album, too.

                                                    #8.(re) Avril Lavigne

Avril is back. She was so huge in my world with Under my Skin but her follow-up album The Best Damn Thing underperformed. 2011 was the year of her immense comeback.
