Stevyy's Chart :: 21/2023 :: Paradise is Here, Tina Turner gets her first #1
This week is one of the most exciting weeks of the year. 5 relatively new albums are fighting hard for the #1 crown this week. The Killers, so far, present themselves unbeatable. With more than 250 plays Battle Born still sits atop the Midweek chart. With 180 plays The Spirit Indestructible follows suit. Alanis, Pink and Michael Jackson are completing what I believe is the biggest top 5 we ever had.
Songs
01 01 Here with Me - The Killers 100%
02 14 Waiting for the Night - Nelly Furtado 61,9%
03 NE Price of Fame - Michael Jackson 52,3%
04 07 Believers - Nelly Furtado 48,7%
05 NE Al Capone - Michael Jackosn 47,6%
Just bought "Battle Born" and I'm listenin' to it for the first time right now and I finally can understand your love for 'em ;) - "Here With Me" is amazing; hopefully, it will stay another week on top ;)
As the week continues, so does the plays-counter for those 5 albums. Battle Born by The Killers is still clearly in lead, the album still has a 50% lead over The Spirit Indestructible, which consistently increases day by day and has now amassed more plays than last week and we're only in at tuesday. Pink is also set for a top 3 debut, her lead over Bad 25 has increased dramatically, especially since Try has become a serious thread for Here with Me. Receive is still helping Alanis to maintain a strong top 5 placing, with Bad 25 still in reach.
Songs
01 01 Here with Me - The Killers 100%
02 NE Try - Pink 73,6%
03 14 Waiting for the Night - Nelly Furtado 52,6%
04 NE Price of Fame - Michael Jackson 31,5%
05 NE Thoughts (Remix)- Nelly Furtado 28,9%
The week is done. Pink scores her first ever #1 single on my chart. The rock-bird overshadowed The Killers just tonight and made Try one of the - as I think - most surprising #1's of 2012. The Killers, however, are dominating almost the entire top 20. In personal-union with Nelly Furtado they deliver two-third of all chart-entries. Below my Feet by Mumford and Sons exploded today. It's today's greatest gainer and is responsible for Babel to surpass Havoc this week on the albums chart. Bad25 is another high-profile and anticipated new entry. The late King also scores two top 20 hits. The first three albums have each surpassed the 100 spins total. Battle Born leads with 323 spins, followed by Spirit (241) and Love with 102 spins. This week was the biggest charts-week since I compile the albums chart (2004-today). Due to the unparalleled success of The Killers, Brandon Flowers' solo album re-enters the top 10 at #10.

"Where there is desire
There is gonna be a flame
Where there is a flame
Someone's bound to get burned
But just because it burns
Doesn't mean you're gonna die
You've gotta get up and try try try
Gotta get up and try try try.
You gotta get up and try try try..."
-seriously awesome!-
Alicia's Girl on Fire is one of the most prominent victims of the week. The former #2 song drops off because of Nelly and The Killers. It came in as the 32nd most played song of week 38. It may re-bound next week. It all depends on if the new-factor of The Killers and Nelly wears off. However, Babel is another threat for the song.

Can't wait to listen to 'Babel'. Seeing 'Flamingo' on your album chart reminded me how great 'Only The Young' is. Haven't listened to that song in such a long time.
