Legendary singer Tina Turner who was the overall #1 artist of last week (tracking week ended on Thursday) has now surpassed last week's total and is projected to hit over 1,500 streams for this tracking week - which would set a new alltime record. Since Friday, Tina Turner has amassed more than 500 streams for the current tracking week across 10 albums. Tina currently occupies the entire top 10 albums chart - midweek update, as well as the entire top 10 singles charts update.

It would be the first time in the charts history that one artist would clear the entire top 10 on both the albums and singles charts.

Since her passing on Wednesday, Tina was able to add more than 1,000 streams to her alltime total (spread between two charting weeks). Tina hs now also advanced from #83 (prior to her passing) to #68 right now. Tina became the 70th artist to surpass 3,000 streams during the LastFM era (2011-).

Everything! Music legend Tina Turner set the MSSA on fire the week of her passing. She was last present on the MSSA in January and February 2023, however, this week Miss Turner collected her first #1 on the singles chart. Paradise is Here received the most streams this week, followed by yet another Tina Turner song, "I'll Be Thunder".

On the albums chart, Tina was able to place 5 albums in the top 10 - her entire currently available studio albums catalogue. Tina Turner could become the first ever artist to occupy the entire albums top 5 next week if the streaming keeps the level that it is currently at. Tina also advanced to #9 on the Year to Date Top Artists ranking - her highest position ever were it to stay that way.

American Music legend, Tina Turner, passed away on May 24th 2023. The music world lost one of the greatest - if not the greatest - female performer of all times. The Queen of Rock & Roll who was twice inducted into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame, was inducted into the MPSA Hall of Fame in 2019 as well.

Tina Turner lived a hard life. Her initial break as one half of Ike & Tina Turner meant great commercial success and cultural impact, but it was also a time of great personal stuggle. Her first marriage to Ike Turner was plagued by abuse. When Tina divorced Ike, her initial solo career was not met by acclaim. It took her a while. However, in 1984 she would conquer the world with her album "Private Dancer" - a musical comeback which inspired everyone. Tina was back and she was bigger and stronger than ever before.

She became a huge idol of perseverance, persistence and strength. Her impact was, remains and will remain palpable. She inspired many generations of performers, musicians and the world.

Now, her heart is light and her soul is free. Tina Turner will never be forgotten.
