Midweek: Il y a avril en novembre?

Avril Lavigne has taken the #1 position on the Midweek singles forecast. Hush Hush leads a stormy top three. Gaga descends to #2 with Do What you Like while Birdy's Wings holds at #3. The question is, can Avril complete the double? Has finally somebody released an album that can overtake Mechanical Bull - the reigning album of the past 5 weeks? Avril further finally reached 100 plays or more on LastFm.

Avril Lavigne does the unthinkable. The Canadian dethrones Katy and Kings of Leon. For the first time in 2 months Kings of Leon are not featured in my top 5 singles. Since 2004 every single Avril Lavigne album reached the #1 position on my chart. She has earned her AA status. Prism, Mechanical Bull and Avril Lavigne are all more or less in the same region. It was just a handful of spins that separated each album and determined their positions this week. Next week should be interesting. With Celine Dion's latest effort the top 3 should become a top 4. Can Celine debut at #1 on the albums chart? Taking Chances did so and reached triple platinum for more than 100 charting points.

Game Over

This week was unquestionably the biggest week ever on my chart. Never before has the race for the #1 on my singles and albums chart been more exciting. Matt Cardle - the surprisingly odd one - overshadows AA acts such as Celine Dion who is one of my alltime most played acts. Even last week's #1 Avril Lavigne couldn't compete with the underdog. More surprising is Lada Gaga's disappointing #4 debut. Eminem completely destroyed everyone in the past 1 and a half days. Up until wednesday Eminem was just making the top 10, he was the greatest gainer in absolute terms on thursday and late wednesday. For the first time since August, Kings of Leon are not represented in my singles chart. Mechanical Bull tumbles down to #7 on the album chart. Although the album is heading towards a platinum certification for charting points of 75 or more. Next week Mariah Carey's new single The Art of Letting Go will be released. her past 3 singles, Triumphant, Almost Home and #Beautiful debuted with massive numbers. Will Mariah Carey be the next leading lady on my chart? It would be her third #1 single 2013.

LastFM Alert:

Matt cardle, Celine Dion and Eminem all added +100 spins this week to their tally due to their new releases, resuling in Cardle topping the 500 spins barrier and therefore becoming a GOLD artist due to my LastFM certifications. He also overtakes Bruce Springsteen and becomes my 20th most played act since 2011. Dion overtook Mumford and Sons and is about to break the 400 plays barrier. She is the greatest gaining female act in the top 100 this week. Gaga finally breaks the 250 plays barrier while Eminem looks to become the biggest rap act on my LastFM tally. He became the 61st act to cross the 100 plays mark.
