These Days

It was the longest it took for any Take That song to reach the ultimate #1 position on my singles chart. These Days accumulated spins each week and finally completely won me over this week. Imagine Dragons step back one position to land at #2. Over on the albums chart the tight battle between Lenny Kravitz and John Newman is heating up once more while Alex & Sierra drop out of the race and are down to #4. Mariah Carey continues to shake airwaves with her Elusive Album which could soon overtake Paolo Nutini's smash Caustic Love album as the leading album of the year.

Ware is the Problem?

Jessie Ware strikes again. Almost 2 years after she smashed hard with "Devotion" the British songbird returns to the #1 slot with her second album "Tough Love". She now ties Florence + The Machine as the artist whose first 2 albums debuted at #1. Taylor Swift and Nick Jonas make their chart premiere this week on both the singles and albums charts. German singer Laith Al Deen places a single and his album of the same name "Was Wenn Alles Gut geht" inside the top 5, while "These Days" by legendary icon Boyband Take That defends the singles pole. One Direction make a rather disappointing #3 debut on the albums chart, but their album is massively gaining. Next week is going to be very interesting in that aspect. More surprising, however, is Nick Jonas' smashing airtime - he won thursday in terms of overall spins!

From Boyhood to Boyband

One Direction for the first time ever, complete the Double this week. Our favourite five British lads have been a safe bet for the #1 position early on and couldn't be overtaken by anyone, although Nick Jonas came pretty close. Hozier - the discovery of the week - bows in like a meteorite as well. He became the most played act of the past 2 days and should make some waves next week as well. Next week, Coldplay and Olly Murs are going to enter the fight for the #1 position as well. Going by their previous chartings, Coldplay seem to be the factor to beat.
