I like several songs from the Brandon Flowers album. 791 plays for one album in a week isn't really all that high; my record is 1,435 (I DO listen basically non stop when I'm not sleeping or watching TV/movies). Been almost two years since one artist had my entire top 10 though.

without lena.. and without #1 to infinity.. brandon could have added their totals as well.. it was a surprise that he would go against the two of them. 791 is the highest ever recorded total during my lastfm era (2011-) and for that i think it did outstandingly well.

Sweden's Hero

After a staggering 9 consecutive weeks at #1 on the singles chart, Brandon Flowers is dethroned. Eurovision champion Mans Zelmerl�w from Sweden powers ahead with one of the most successful singles to have ever come from the competition. Heroes debuts at #1 with a wonderful 149 plays. Zelmerl�w also hits the jackpot on the albums chart, placing all of his previously released studio albums in the top 10. However, still lightyears ahead - The Desired Effect dominates all albums with yet another weekly smash record. The album becomes the second album ever to hit 3,000 lifetime scrobbles, being automatically certified 6x multi platinum - a record it now shares with the (still) alltime leader Me. I am Mariah. The Eurovision soundtrack bows in at #2 with one of the biggest playcounts for a #2 debut. Another AA (highest priority) release debuts at a slightly shocking #10. Will Young only benefited from 1 day worth of airplay, since his album is not yet technically released in Germany. He is expected to amass over 300 plays as well in his first full week. German legend Sarah Connor is back as well, however, she is still very much below Lena who only loses a handful of spins and stays at #3 for a second week. Florence and her Machine are back in full force. The British queen of ceremonials debuts at #1 on the albums chart with 651 scrobbles, giving her her third consecutive career #1 album, as well as the biggest opening week of all times. For the first time in ages, Brandon Flowers has to vacate his #1 residency, as The Desired Effect settles for the #2 position this week. Complete and utter D.O.M.I.N.A.T.I.O.N.

There is only one M.A.N. alive who can single handedly outperform Florence and stopping her from her own reign of regal and stern dominance; and that single man is Brandon Flowers. The King - and not ever has this word fitted more accurately - dethrones the Queen and grabs both the albums' and singles' crown again this week. I Can Change completes not only its third non-consecutive week at #1, it also is a decent week away of becoming the 2nd most scrobbled song in the history of the LastFM era (noted: Flowers owns the entire top 3 positions regardless). The Desired Effect's airplay is so strong that it has overtaken Me. I am Mariah since early last week to become the #1 most played album during the LastFM era (the gap to Mariah has now risen to almost 400 scrobbles). ESC Emperor Mans Zelmerl�w grabs the #3 position this week with his new album Perfectly Damaged. With its strong debut, it has also received the title as the most successful album by a male solo artist to have ever come by a non-German ESC contestant (only C�line Dion performed better). However, Italian Idol Marco Mengoni makes a staggering comeback as well. The former balladeer from Italia debuts at #4.

top 2 albums are great. Been stanning the hell out of Florence.

Have put the Brandon album on the backburner because the vinyl isn't released for two more weeks, so I'll probably really get headfirst into it when I get a physical copy.

from the beginning of 2015, those were my top 2 most anticipated releases and they have not disappointed me, to the contrary they expanded my admiration even further when I thought that I couldn't love them even more deludedly than before. AS you can see from my playcounts, i do enjoy The Desired Effect a tiny bit more. However, there is one song which I think belongs to the alltime elite of the best written songs of all times and that is How Big How Blue How Beautiful. The details in the production are absolutely mindblowing. I also grow more and more obsessed with Mother. I love the BIG electro explosion at the end of that song.

Apart from the absolute brilliant music, another selling point of both is their shy nature. I could not be happier that those two slay me in the manner they are currently doing (and have been doing for a long time).
