Nothing melts our hearts more than seeing a boyband alumni shattering long standing records. Mind of Mine repeats its reservation at #1 on all component charts with an increase over his first week. Yes, you chart obsessed freaks heard right. Mind of Mine increased by 2 plays to grab the 2nd best second week ever recorded. For that achievement, Mind of Mine has officially gone multi platinum for 1,000 scrobbles or better. Queen of Pop Birdy also sees a major increase over last week. Beautiful Lies becomes the most played album ever that occupies the #2 position of the albums chart. The highest ever registered playount for a #2 album is also responsible for sending 4 tracks into the Top 20 this week. Carly Rae's debut at #4 on the albums chart marks the first time she has ever visite the albums chart top 20.

As we slowly wake up from weekend bliss and re-collect our strength for the coming week, we realize that the soundtrack for staying up late, partying hard with friends and being jolly late to family birthdays came from a French group who just emerged from a half decade long break, M83. "Junk" has registered over 150 spins so far - far leading the pack of recreational evergreens. Heading for a +500 scrobbles debut, M83 are back and they are skyrocketing right now.
scrobbles after Day 1: 92 scrobbles after Day 2: 168 scrobbles after Day 3: 241 scrobbles after Day 4: 256 (Gold) scrobbles after Day 5: 329 scrobbles after Day 6: 389 scrobbles after Day 7: 435
What a week. Week number 15 of 2016 goes down in history as the week with the strongest T5 on the albums chart. All the albums in the Top 5 have amassed over 100 plays, the first 3 have even crossed over 250 scrobbles. M83 are the most dominant force this week. Their new album Junk has amassed the 7th best week in regards to total airplay - with 440 scrobbles under its belt. They not only grab the Triple, but also a Gold Award for Junk. Lissie is another surprise. She also knocks Zayn one position further down to occupy the runner-up position with a staggering 288 scrobbles for My Wild West. System change: The albums chart - as of this week - becomes a Top 30 Chart. This week's total scrobbles top 1,868 plays (down 6% in comparison to last week's 1,987 plays). Total scrobbles in 2016: 25,068.

Hall of Fame induction: Prince Rogers Nelson (2016)
Purple Rain
Prince died on April, the 21st of 2016. One of the biggest music legends is now gone. What is left is the overwhelming depth of his genius which is best represented in his vast catalogue of recorded music, video footage and live performances. He has elevated the level of 1980's contemporary Pop, Rock, R&B, Funk and Soul music to a level in which the combination of all these music genres created something new, the Prince genre. In the following 37 years since his debut, he would continue to shape music culture and push commonly believed boundaries further away. As one of the world's biggest musical visionaries and most impactful and influental music legends, it is time to recognize his life with a long overdue Hall of Fame induction. As a solo performer, Prince has now entered The MSSA/MPSA Music Hall of Fame - the only one on UKmix. He will also be recognized with a "song induction" today. Purple Rain has transcended ages, genres, generations and belongs to the most impactful songs in recorded music history. It is a well-beloved classic and evergreen - covered by dozens of artists and remembered by a fast growing global population. It found its way into our hearts, souls and collective memories. It is one of the ten best written and produced songs in music history. It is now time to pay respect to an evergreen which has become much more than just a classic - Purple Rain has become human culture.
There is not much to add to a lifetime of greatness other than taking the hat and bow down before a human being who has given so much more than just great songs, he has given us Prince - the one and only - a true original artist that only emerges once in forever.
We are gathered here to speak your name.
We are here because we are because of you,
carried, culturally nurtured and then sent out
into the world to make our own mark
and see what we see; and be what we be, but better,
truer, deeper
because of the shining example of your own incandescent life.

Stevyy, why you didn't include Mariah or/and Robbie Williams in your Hall Of Fame ?
Is it only posthumous award ?
So far yes. But I will be hosting a Hall of Fame survey at the end of the year.
2016's Nominees are:
Artists:
John Lennon
Amy Winehouse
Bruce Springsteen
The Who
The Smiths
The Clash
Nirvana
Tina Turner
Songs:
Butterfly - Mariah Carey
Imagine - John Lennon
Never Forget - Take That
Baba O'Riley - The Who
Fix You - Coldplay
Rhythm Nation - Janet Jackson
Vogue - Madonna
Bittersweet Symphony - The Verve
Only 2 artists and 2 songs will be inducted in December.
I have my own system: The AA (Double A) System, in which I rank artist by their contribution to my life. I then roll the dice on who is nominated and who isn't. AA stands for: Alltime Acts
A - Artists (not in chronological order)
AA - Mariah Carey
AA - Robbie Williams
AA - Bruce Springsteen
AA - Nelly Furtado
AA - John Mayer
AA - John Lennon
AA - M83 (NEW)
AA - Coldplay
AA - Madonna
AA - Imagine Dragons
AA - Take That
AA - Tina Turner
AA - Oasis
AA - The Verve
AA - Bosse (NEW)
AA - Amy Winehouse
AA - Brandon Flowers / KIllers
AA - Florence
AA - Paolo Nutini
AA - Kings of Leon
AA - Janet Jackson
AA - Marco Mengoni (NEW)
AA - Mumford & Sons
AA - Alicia Keys
AA - Shania Twain
AA - Beatles
Then I have the CA (=Classic Acts) which are important, but to a lesser degree than the AA acts: such as The Who, The Clash, Nirvana, Queen, Eric Clapton, Billy Joel, Elton John etc.
AA and CA Artists are the top tiers, after that, I have AOT Artists (=Artists Of Today) which feature Gaga, Katy, Rihanna, Britney etc.
Good list and the most from them deserve to be in any Hall Of Music Fame.
From your AA artists I love Robbie (and Take That too), Oasis, Coldplay, Shania and Beatles (with Paul and John post-Beatles material)
In my opinion The Beatles should be inducted all together.
Hello, my name is Lina. 32 years old. Half Lithuanian / half Russian lady, which like old charts, Cliff, Elvis, Engelbert and 90s pop boybands.
Times are changing. Music goes in and out of style - at least a certain style of music. But once in a lifetime somebody comes around whose music is timeless. It exists outside of all boxes and confinements. Prince Rogers Nelson was one of those artists - timeless, original and inspiring. In the wake of his death, Prince has amassed 57 plays, divided by his Best of set and his visionary Purple Rain album. Since his death, he has become the overall most played artist. Today he was inducted into the MSSA's Hall of Fame - as a solo performer and with the song "Purple Rain" which is currently leading the midweek chart for next week's edition of the MSSA. There is not much to say that hasn't already been said, except for: "We will miss you, we love you, farewell now and dream away, purple Prince."
