#1 Again

Maroon 5 - one of the most enduring music acts of the MSSA / MPSA / LastFM era (2011-present) have returned to the summit with their exciting smash hit "Lost". After a relatively "slow" start, the "Jordi" era is shaping up to be a real summer smash. The album is now in striking distance to topple Cro's 8 weeks #1 smash album "Trip". So far, only ESC alumni Mans Zelmerlöw was able to sneak in a week at #1 during the Cro revival. A lot of new smash hits have entered the top 20 this week, among them German poet Bosse who is serenading about perfect summer adventures, while Bastille even debut ahead of Marco Mengoni with "Distorted Light Beam". Jack Savoretti grabs this week's hot shot debut at #8 with a lot of potential to grow. Overall, it has been a strong charting week.

MSSA #27 of 2021

Wrecked

Chart Titans Imagine Dragons have returned to their favourite position on the MSSA chart with their latest smash hit "Wrecked". The soft, yet explosive song debuts straight atop the MSSA singles charts, shattering Bastille's dreams to elevate their own "Distorted Light Beam" to the pinnacle. On the albums chart Maroon 5 have ended Cro's reign of dominance this week. "Jordi" consistently put on steam and was finally able to give Adam Levine & Friends another #1 album. The biggest new-entry of the week comes from Israeli Dennis Lloyd. His new smash album "Some Days" debuts at #7 this week with a whooping 121 streams. This is his first albums entry on the MSSA chart.

Rock is sob

John Mayer has returned. In true legendary fashion, he collects the hot shot debut on the singles and albums charts. His latest effort, called "Sob Rock", enters at #1 with a smashing 256 streams - earning him his debut on the list of the "biggest debuts of all times".
Inhaler are able to grab their maiden debut with their new album "It won't always be like this" and also Tones and I debuts with "Welcome to the Madhouse". This is Tones and I's second overall charts entry after "Dance Monkey". Bastille continue their resurrection with a second week at #1. It also is the song's 4th consecutive week in the top 5. Their new song "Give me the Future" becomes the 2nd highest new-entry of the week at #5. One week after Cro's smash album "Trip" surpassed 6x Platinum status, Kings of Leon do the same with "When you See Yourself". The cert is given for surpassing 3,000 lifetime streams.
