                              • Year end chart of 2008

                                Top Artists:
                                51-45

                                #51

The Gorrillaz come in at #51 this year, they had no new stuff out in 2008, so only demon days (from 2005) reached the top 10 in 2008.

                                #50

2008 wasn't that kind to Bette, her only album that reached the top 10 was Cool Yule, unfortunately the album didn't return to the charts in december 2008. Only 2 points for Bette in 2008, she's down 26 spots from 2007.

                                #49

Joe Cocker reached the top 10 this year for the first time. His Greatest Hits album scored 7 points in 2008.

                                #48

The Beatles are legends, they charted again this year with their amazing album "love". But now in 2008 they are far away from their peak no new GH release mean not so good points. Down 14 from 2007

                                #47

Morcheeba debuted in 2008, Dive Deep (released in 2008) stayed in the charts for 3 weeks and peaked #7.

                                #46

Bruce Springsteen belongs to the most played male solo artists ever in my chart. Magic was one of the most successful albums of 2007 and even in 2008 the album peaked at #3. But also he is down some positions in comparison to 2007. Bruce is down 25 spots from 2007.

                                #45

Whitney Houston currently is the 10th most played albums artist since 2004/on the alltime list. I'm really waiting for another album, hopefully the rumors are true and she releases new material in 2009. Whitney Houston is down 14 spots from 2007.

Dido debuted in 2008 with Safe Trip Home, i also own all of her previous albums but they haven#t debuted yet. Dido scored 11 points in 2008.

                                  #43

Duffy also debuted in 2008, i don't like her hit single Mery so much, but the album had some nice tracks. Duffy scored also 11 points.

                                  #42

Michael jackson scores his worst position ever on the year end list. Michael Jackson came in at #12 in 2007 with several of his previous albums re charting, but in 2008 non of his 2008 greatest hits or special edition releases charted on my top 10 albums list. Michael Jackson still is #4 on the alltime male solo artists list, but without new releases he'll soon lose that position 4 sure. So in 2008 Michael jackson is DOWN 30 positions from 2007.

                                  #41

So this year the #41 ACT is a german act.. congratulations for the no angels debuting on my chart in 2008. Their newest album Destiny is a R&B masterpiece full of catchy uptempo tracks. The No Angels scored 14 points in 2008.

I am a huge Bryan Adams Fan and if i had made my chart earlier than 2004 he would have been a huge star on the alltime list, because i loved the soundtrack to the movie spirit.. Bryan Adams has an amazing cataloge of songs and in 2008 his newest album 11 made it into the top 10 peaking at #7 and staying in the chart for 5 weeks. Bryan Adams scored 16 points in 2008.

                                    #39

Rihanna debuted in 2008 on my chart with her mega selling bestseller album good girl gone bad (reloaded) i really liked umbrella but the rest of the singles were crap. But Disturbia or rehab (with justin) are amazing songs, so thats why this album made it all the way up to #4 on the charts. Rihanna scored 18 points in 2008. I guess she's still very young and she can grow as an artist and maybe in some years she will lead the year end charts, over the course of her career she improved her music and i guess 2009 will also be kind to her.

                                    #38

Linkin Park are a household name on my chart. Minuites to Midnight was their best album to date and also reanimation charted in 2008. They scored 18 points and Reanimation peaked at #3. But in comparison to 2007 they are down 25 spots in 2008.

                                    #37

Timbaland is the kind of modern R&B Beatz and he comes in in 2008 at no. #37. His peak was way back in 2007 when shock value reached #4 for 3 non-consecutive weeks, the album then reached a new peak in 2008 at #3. Timbaland the head behind justin/nelly or madonna scored 18 points in 2008, but is DOWN 20 from 2007's year end chart.

                                    #36

Still the candle is bruning for Elton John. The mega-legend peaked at #5 in 2008 and scored 19 points. Hes down 19 from last years chart finale.

                                    #35

Mika relaxes this year at no. #35 on the year end chart, life in cartoon motion debuted in 2008 and peaked at #5. Mikae scored 23 points in 2008.

Katy Perry delivered one of the most played song of the year: I kissed a girl.. She's young and fesh and has even better songs on her album "one of the boys".

Beyoncé is on the top of her game right now, #1 single in the US and she released her latest album in november that already broke into the 2m of album sales in a few weeks. B'day was the first album by bee that reached my airplay top 10 last year, but I am Sasha Fierce became the bigger success.
Beyonce is UP 3 from 2007.

Kanye West is a superstar, i love his music so much he is a true genius. He's currently charting with his latest 2008 release 808's & Heartbreak which debuted at #2. Its the first album of his that didn't debut at #1 or peaked at #1. Kanye scored only 29 points and is Down 22 from 2007 when graduation became the 6th most successful album of my chart.

Clueso is the 3rd and final german act that reached 2008's chart edition. Clueso developed from being a german soft rap star into a serious musician with great melodic soft and serious lyrics. Loved his 2008 album so sehr dabei! Clueso scored 36 points in 2008. he's also up 5 from 2007 edition.

Pink is back in 2008 with a good new fresh album that is, besides of the 1st single very quiet and calm. Pink is still charting and up 16 from 2007.

                                            #22

Beautiful world was the 3rd biggest album in 2007. In 2008 tried to come back and released an even better album: The circus. The Circus was the no #1 album for the last 4 weeks in 2008. Because their back cataloge didn't chart in 2008 they are down 16 from 2007. The Beautiful world tour DVD became the 2nd most played music dvd of 2008 in my statistics, though music dvds are not allowed to chart on my most played albums chart list! TT scored 40 points in 2008.

NO AIR and Freeze 2 of the best R&B songs of 2008, that's why Jordin sparks deserves to be #21 on the year end chart. Great album, great voice.

Justin Timberlake was #2 in 2007 with his amazing album futuresex/lovesounds. Justin was a featured artist in 2008 without new solo singles, so he's down 17 from 2008. Justin scored 60 points in 2008 though FSLS peaked at #2 in 2008 and stayed in the chart for 12 weeks. But the year wouldn't be over without a crown for JT, his tour dvd live from madison square garden was the #1 played music dvd in 2008, beating take that. FSLS was able to defend its alltime chart poistion, the album currently is the 3rd most successful album on my chart ever.

A true legend has fallen, Robbie Williams didn't release anything new in 2008, so thats why he's down 13 from 2007, when he defend his yyear end titel as the most played artist of the year. RW was the 1st artist ever to break the 1000 point mark, hes currently the #1 alltime solo artist (male) and #2 on the combined list. The Greatest Hits was his biggest album on my chart in 2008. If the rumors are true then Robbie will release another album this year-can't wait for that. 2008 is also the first year for Robbie to miss the year end top 10. He scored 76 points.

Discipline peaked at #1 and was held off the #1 spot because of mariahs mega hit emc². I hope that janet won't retire and goes on releasing such great work. Janet is UP 8 from 2007.

Ryan Tedder is a brilliant songwriter, he created one of the best pop albums of this decade. The album is also one of the biggest of all times on my chart.

Once i didn't like Kylie Minogue and i still don't like her can't get you out of my head era.. But X is like one of the best dance records that i've ever heard. Its sooo fresh and cool. I think its in the same level of quality as madonnas confessions album. I was addicted to X, one of 2008's best albums.. It's sad that real good albums still sell less than average crap. This deserved to be huge all around the world. It's the first album by Kylie that charted on my list. Kylie scored 109 points

Wasn't there a time when we all were just addicted to bleeding in love? Thank you ryan Tedder for that amazing song, and who listened to Jesse McCartneys version of the song (also a songwriter) knows that it must have been Ryans influence of production that made the song unique. Leona Lewis is absolutely amazing, she looks beautiful and has a fantastic voice. She's also a great live performer, hence she's got everything that makes a real superstar.
Spirit was a very great debut album and i'm excited what we'll hear next! Leona scored 111 points.

Coldplay, Coldplay, Coldplay! The biggest and most most successful band in the history of my chart from 2004-2009. Last year they released 2 new studio albums, Viva la Vida and Prospekt's March EP. Both albums set new best marks of quality. The first album that charted was their X&Y album in 2005 which is until now the #11th most successful album on my alltime list! Viva la Vida was the first album that ended Mariahs straight 9 weeks #1 run with EMC², there was not 1 album coming close to the two. Coldplay are UP 25 spots from 2007. They scored 153 points

                                                    #2

Madonna is Back. She's a true legend, i love her most recent work up to hard candy her 2008 new album. Hardc candy is by far not her best work but still solid and better than most albums with the same genre. Without the success of the #1's new album madonna would have been easily 2008's biggest artist!
                                                    Madonnas year end positions:
                                                    2008: #2
                                                    2007: #5

Madonna scored 215 points. Hard Candy didn't hit #1, but in fall of 2008 her GHV2 record stayed on top for 3 non-consecutive weeks.

And again for the 2nd time it's Mariahs year! Mariah released one of her best records in 2008 E=MC²! I waited sooo long for that and i didn't even download the songs from the internet, i really waited to buy the album and i was addicted to that. Migrate truely is her best urban song ever, for the record and love story are groundbreaking, not to mention side effects.. BUT the best song mariah's ever done in this decade is I wish you well, so emotional so traditional, so gospel. The album hit #1 and stayed there for 13 non-consecutive weeks. (TEOM still holds the alltime #1 record with 15 weeks). But in total weeks the album was less successful than TEOM on my chart. Mariah scored 403 points in 2008, nearly double the points of what the #2 artist scored.
