      Last Minute Victoire

Mariah Carey - against all odds - remains at #1 this week. First One Direction made headlines when they overtook her on tuesday, then Avicii became a serious thread, but Mariah fought back. Robbie stays at #1 on the albums chart. When it looked like a closer battle at the beginning of the week, it became a one-man show towards the second half. Early indications show that Britney's latest release "Britney Jean" will debut in the top 10, but can Britney make it to the top 5 or even higher?

      • Great to see Strong enter in the singles, and good to see Robbie stay top of albums.

        • Flawless debuts for "Say Something" (which I consider to be one of the most beautiful songs of 2013) & "Strong" - I would like to see the UK being represented in Eurovision by London Grammar

                  • Really cool for Beautiful Pain. I'm glad you like it. It's one of my top tracks on the album.

Yay for Bad Guy too. You know it's not a song you can replay over and over again. You listen to it, but you need a small break if you know what I mean. Such an epic track really. Probably one of the best songs on the album.

Hey Brother is annoying, but I see why you like it. It's still a fun track. Keep stanning for Em.

Take That Back or Take Back That?

Gary Barlow and Robbie Williams lead this week's singles and albums chart and it's not even Take That related. The Boyband superstars smash my charts this week with their great new solo stuff. Gary dethrones Mariah in the singles tally while Rob ended his third straight week at #1 on the albums list. Eminem has now strengthend his lead as this year's most successful Rapper. Kanye underperformed, Drake couldn't land a sustained hit single; only Jay-Z performed well enough to be considered a threat. Britney lands at #8 with her new album Britney Jean.

1.(new) Gary Barlow - We Like To Love
                        2.(5) London Grammar - Strong
                        3.(12) Eminem - Bad Guy

As we head into the holiday season with lightspeed, Christmas music is heavily increasing this week, leaving little room for anything else. However, I also managed to look back and play some of those tracks and artists that I enjoyed at the beginning of the year and this is the result, friday-sunday

                                        • Midweek: Stabilization: It looks like Robbie will experience a nice return to the top 10. Eminem and Matt Cardle look to be savely in the top 10. Naughty Boy, however, continues to increase like there is no tomorrow. Lifted could become one of those rare +100 spins debuts. The song amassed 87 spins thus far into the tracking week.

Lovely surprise to "Who Wants To Live Forever" enter. That one's one of Queen's best songs. It's probably in my Top 4 faves from them alongside "The Show Must Go On", "We Will Rock You", and "We Are The Champions". Glad you like "Tik Tik Boom" too. It's definitely one of the highlights from a sub-par record.

Naughty Boy is the undisputable king of this week's chart, however, the producer is not vocally present on his songs, for that he needs high profile A-listers and one of those is the already legendary Emeli Sandé who is the secret champion of the week. Lifted amassed 116 spins in the first week - making it one of the strongest debuts of all times. While Eminem and Rih ride the wave of their groundbreaking real life success, The Monster climbs all the way from 7-3. Massive kudos to another legendary band. Pink Floyd enter the albums top 10 this week with the ever so magnificent album The Wall - massive.
