Wow, I decided to check in after coming back form my trip and see you haven't been posting. So, on one hand I haven't missed much, but on the other where are your charts???

Anyhow, I see one Wonderful Life is rubbing off another - guessing Gwen was checked first seeing as she is #1. Also, it looks like someone's been checking out the 50 Shades soundtrack.

Athletics finally started at the Olympic Games late last week so the lion's share of my free time has been spent following the action I've waited FIVE years for. I actually haven't been listening to music much at all, but Thursday's and today's charts are coming in a few short minutes.

Hope you had a great trip!

I think August should get play every day of this month

I don't think I have ever seen you skip a day, but maybe you have and I just haven't noticed. I totally understand getting caught in Olympics fever. I did catch a little bit of it on my vacation. It seems to kind of work out with the time difference that they can show events live, which I wasn't expecting.

I prefer July's list to the August one since it has Rainbow and Formation, but I do appreciate just how eclectic the selection is for your most recent chart. The Arctic Monkeys, Beyonce, AND Bob the Drag Queen??

It's rare that it happens. I've had my life fall apart, then woken up in the middle of the night when I realised I'd forgotten to post that day's chart.

                    • Although I much prefer the final album version, the original demo of "The Lakes" put folklore back on my brain in a big way. Looks like this marks the 39th day at No. 1 for "August" (and the month's just begun) Is HIAM still your all-time record-holder with 48 days total?
                    • Speaking of different versions of the same song, I can't recall if you've shared any thoughts/strong feelings regarding the original "Midnight Sky" VS the "Edge of Midnight" remix?
                    • Diggin' the little "passage of time" theme with double "Clock" tracks in the mix ("Night Changes" really fits too). I hope SZA can break through the label BS and deliver her second LP this year.
                    Yet another timeless chart, Akini!

Yep! Its days are numbered, though. I envision "August" getting there by year-end.

I like the remix, but I'm good with just sticking with the original.

"Clock Don't Stop" is such a pretty song from Carrie!

I had to run in here to see Whitney - it's amazing how her version has supplanted the original in my head. When I saw the lyric, it was the Whitney rendition that went through my head. (I know the original was newer for you, but to me it briefly messed with my mind.)

I'm loving all the Troye appearances lately!

Looks like Tony and Gaga got a courtesy listen - it's OK, but for some reason, I feel like there's a better showstopper on the album.

Same thoughts here on the Tony/Gaga song.

Interestingly enough, since the Whitney version was released, I feel like I've been hearing the original version suspiciously often!

Anyhow, that thread title is so downbeat! And then you have two songs named Cry? SOS? I Don't Want to Live Forever? Should I be concerned?

When I saw the lyric, it was the Whitney rendition that went through my head. (I know the original was newer for you, but to me it briefly messed with my mind.)

I'm loving all the Troye appearances lately!

Looks like Tony and Gaga got a courtesy listen - it's OK, but for some reason, I feel like there's a better showstopper on the album.
Sorry to jump in on your convo but did you know that Whitney actually did a cover of the original years ago. It was a bonus track for Japan.

Billie Eilish claims her second Number 1 single with What Was I Made For? , scoring a last-minute victory over Dua Lipa’s Dance The Night.

That bolded bit is so true!

I was actually in pretty high spirits yesterday, but I guess my heart wanted that special pairing of sombre lyrics and uplifting melodies that Mika does best.
