Happy to hear you've been enjoying the recent music releases. I did check out Camila's album, and I was underwhelmed. Beyond "Havana" and "Never Be the Same," there really weren't any keepers, just decent pop songs that I could do without ever hearing again.

Damn. I got my hopes up thinking we'd be more in-sync when it comes to Camila. I mean...I'm not about to crown it one of the greatest albums of all time, but it's definitely more up-my-alley than the recent influx of pop/rock/country-ish efforts we got from the formerly-poppier/dancier ladies like Gaga, Kesha, P!nk, Miley (and then pop/R&B/soul-ish in Kelly's case.) Comparisons aside, though, I'm just feelin' it <3 Pretty much from start to finish (albeit to slightly varying degrees), which I was NOT expecting! It's probably the most pleasantly-unexpectedly-consistently-enjoyable album for me since I checked out Dua's (which I remember also underwhelmed you. Ah well...)

Yeah, I love the uptempo melody, too, and the lyrics are so relevant! It's a perfect song really, and I have cheapthrills to thank for introducing it to me. I'm elated to read that you love it as well!

You can absolutely count on seeing it on my next chart!

Really? That is an odd pick for favourite, but I think the song is fairly underrated actually, so good that you appreciate it. You do have a history of appreciating unheralded gems, so perhaps I shouldn't be too surprised. <3

That feels like a much gentler way of saying "you like the random-ass tracks that nobody else does"...but I'll still take it Thanks!

o Great to see the new piano version of "Joanne" help Gaga nab another No. 1 here! How many does this make from that album now? "Perfect Illusion", "Million Reasons", the title track...? I just got around to giving the piano version a listen, and I was expecting to come away from it like "It's nice/sweet/touching, but I'm fine sticking with the original"...but it's actually a much closer call! It's no surprise that Gaga can nail a ballad, but this rendition (of a track I already liked well enough) is grabbing my attention more than I thought it would.
o Lovin' the Top 10 debut for "Casanova" - but that's a version I've yet to hear The original has been one of the standouts from her CollXtion II that I added a couple weeks ago. I just added this mix too, so we'll see how it fares!
o Many thanks for still giving "Curious" a proper chance after your lukewarm (at best) first impression! I especially love the sexy little "yeah"s at the end of the first couple lines of the chorus, and then the faster bit is just so damn catchy (without sounding like total gibberish, though I did have to Google the lyrics to figure out everything she's saying...)

I read your comment in the pop forum and loved the name check. Is this the original version or new piano version you're charting? Hearing the song as a ballad works so beautifully and it makes me think this is how the song should've sounded all along. A bit like when Kelly Clarkson did the idol version of Piece by piece. Some songs just work better as ballads.

Iirc this just narrowly missed out on making my top 20 after the album was released. The music video has definitely given the song a new lease of life but i personally still don't think this is single material.

Wow What led to this entering now for the first time? This was as instant as it could possibly get when it was released and became the first ever song to debut at #1 in my chart just 24 hours after release.

I still haven't re-visited Butterfly and "The Beautiful Ones" There's just been a lot of new music that's captured my attention lately (including Camila's album! I know you had mixed feelings about her personally, but you were a big advocate of "Havana" and even "Crying In The Club" to an extent, so have you given it a chance?) Yep! The video is sub-par, but I still like the song. It relaxes me.

Expect to see Shakira entering my chart next week with Trap. It's not quite as amazing as Chantaje for me but there's definitely something interesting about this track.

Same here! I haven't had time to really decode the lyrics, as I'm not entirely sure he's not addressing an incident he had on Twitter regarding his Jesse Williams comment. The song, though, is much more in the vein of what he should be releasing.

Ah, for me "Trap" is so much better than "Chantaje". The former has so much sex appeal, whereas the latter just falls flat. I could also say the same for the respective videos for each.

"Your Disco Needs You" is a strong contender for my favourite Kylie song (though that's a tribute/countdown still to come). It's easily among my favourite songs ever.

Like I mentioned to SummerPeur, "Breathe" help me to relax when I'm stressed. It has such a mellow melody. So soothing!
