Sabrina had a huge appearance on my own list a couple years ago being featured on On My Way - and I kept thinking she'd make it back again, but nothing really connected, but I do like Nonsense! It's a good thing that Ava is taking over your chart this week because those are pretty much the only songs I know. My favorite track on the album (that wasn't released yet) is the title track. That one grabbed me from the get-go. I also like Ghost and In the Dark.

Your previous week is much more exciting, as I'm here for the Rebecca Black #1, plsu there's Mimi Webb's Ghost of You returning, Hits Different and Lavender Haze returning, Welcome to My Island returning plus the trifecta of hits that are Flowers, Kill Bill, and Shakira's session. Apparently "On My Way" isn't in my library, so I'll rectify that ASAP! Sabrina had a few Paulboard Top 5's to her name before this, but I had to check out "Nonsense" after reading the Ari comparisons, and it really does sound like someone attempting to make a Positions bonus track.

I didn't notice a ton of praise for the title track in initial reviews/reactions to D&D, so I'm glad that several Personal Charters have been championing it! "In The Dark" stands out for being more guitar-driven on that very-dancey album.

I owe YouTube for nudging me in her direction! The algorithm recommended the "Unbreak Ur Heart" video (which might appear here soon), and I wound up diving into her whole Me At 23 EP. Her singing style on some of the tracks really brings Lily Allen to mind (especially "No One Cares").

"Clap Your Hands" was my intro to Ava, so it felt fitting to revisit it to commemorate her second album (finally) arriving. I don't know much about Le Youth, but I think that track was a random iTunes Store recommendation (since that was before I'd signed up for streaming).

Admittedly, Euphoric Sad Songs suited my tastes way better than My 21st Century Blues but her journey to creative freedom and commercial success is definitely compelling, so I'm happy for everything this project has finally brought her. Ha, well...that's actually a debut for "Escapism" too I wish RAYE the best, but most of My 21st Century Blues just isn't a style that typically gets stuck in my head. Very curious to see her next steps with this newfound creative freedom and commercial success, though! I'll give "Flip A Switch" another listen (or two) in your honor.

Ha, fair! I'm definitely sold on Let Her Burn (never expected I'd care about a Rebecca Black project this much), but if Pitchfork was so determined to chastise it, focusing more on that "too much of a mopey/self-pitying breakup album" angle would've at least made more sense.

Didn't realize "Billions" was one of your standouts! Probably not shocking that one grabbed me less "Welcome To My Island" won't likely be unseated as my overall fave from the album. I think the first "Fly To You" verse is all Grimes, and then she repeats those lines in the background during the final chorus: "how I remember, how I forget, wanted to hate you, but love you instead..."

Pearls at #14 - I guess I'll take it. I can't at how Friday girl is blowing up your chart (I know, I know, I can't help it - she'll always be more known for it, even tho she's miles better than she was at 14.) I don't really know much about what she's done since Friday - has she blown up your chart before?

A few of these songs have come up on my Release radar - like the Caroline Polachek song (Pretty is Possible) and the Glue song, which I hope blows up - I only know her from that TikTok viral song about coffee a year or two ago (I forget the name right now.)

I heard Cuff It on the radio for the first time (I almost never listen to the radio anymore, pretty much if I drive and too lazy to set my phone up), and it was a clean version where they were saying Roll It Up instead I think I actually prefer it haha
