Was tempted to see how long you would keep Wild Roses at #1 before giving in, but I gave it a listen and it’s really nice! Reminds me a lot of The xx in the verses. I added it to my B List.

Will be charting new Jessie this week!

From 36 hits, this is only Charli's 5th number one! Boom Clap, Need Ur Luv (a song that briefly looked like a single), Boys and the Vroom Vroom EP being the previous. (my other fave Marina has 10 #1s from 29 hits).
Just going back through the thread and i missed Explode - the song from The Angry Birds Movie. Doh! So she's had 7 number ones including White Mercedes.

13 NE John Williams - Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker (OST) SPOTIFY

          27 23 Plumb - Behold (MA) (4 weeks; peak #16)
28 8 Lorne Balfe - The Musical Anthology of His Dark Materials (OTVST) (2 weeks; peak #8)
29 RE Rob Halford with Family and Friends - Celestial (2 weeks; peak #20)
          30 24 FKA Twigs - Magdalene (6 weeks; peak #4)

Quite unusual to have an expanding Albums chart at Christmas - not unusual to have a shrinking Hits chart.

26 NE Eliza Shaddad - Girls - sweet, while being purposefully under-the-radar (Eliza's vocal still as hazy).
33 NE Alessandro Cortini - Sabbia - looks lliked the zoomed in version of the initial music video
            ALBUMS
24 NE Tawings - Tawings - far from perfect, but I still find it messy and cute (in a way)

Nice to see Taylor get that Christmas #1, though having listened to "Wild Roses" I'd like to see that climb back to #1 in the new year. Good to see Jarvis enter.

                  TONY'S HITS CHART: 28th DECEMBER 2019

Posting early so i can concentrate on YE lists.

1 NE The Modern - Just Takes Time

I only discovered this group had got back together (vids are from 2016) by accident going through my past festive number ones! They aren't on social media (apart from YT) and aren't publicising it much so it's no wonder i'm THREE YEARS LATE!!!!
Looks like it's Emma, Chi and a mysterious third member who isn't Nathan (now Kid Kasio).
                  This song is gorgeous.

2 NE The Modern - Hey Boy

Bouncy pop song that "shows" the whole group.

3 2 Of Monsters and Men - Wild Roses (8 weeks; peak #1)
                  Another plan ruined!

32 NE Una Healy - Wild Grasses YOUTUBE

39 RE Janet Devlin - Wake Up, It's Christmas (6 weeks; peak #1)
While going through my past Christmas number ones, i noted that only Bjork did it twice like Janet (93 BTS, 95 IOSQ) and only Janet did it 2 years running (2015 DD, 2016 WUIC).

40 RE Millie Turner - Swimming Pool (9 weeks; peak #11)

                  -------------------------------------------

                  TONY'S ALBUMS CHART: 28th DECEMBER 2019

1 NE The Modern - Revenge
                  SPOTIFY
Same title as a classic Eurythmics album. CD release 2017 - digital 2018. It's just incredible to have them back. Album thread is here. The first album (now retitled to match the first digital release before they changed to Matinee Club) was good but this one feels like an album and not a set of singles and mixes. Only Limousine misfires. I Hear You Calling is immense.

2 NE Millie Turner - Hide and Seek (MA) SPOTIFY
I'm only 6 weeks late on this! I hadn't realised she's produced by David from Lovers Electric - synthpop duo who topped my charts. She's such a talent - Landline should be a single.

                  3 1 Hannah Diamond - Reflections (5 weeks; peak #1)
                  4 3 Maxim - Love More (2 weeks; peak #3)
Would be awful if this just went ignored.

                  5 2 Kate Rusby - Holly Head (4 weeks; peak #2)
                  6 8 Dan Levy - I Lost My Body (OST) (5 weeks; peak #2)
                  7 5 Jorge Elbrecht - Gloss Coma - 002 (3 weeks; peak #2)
8 4 BT - Everything You're Searching For Is On The Other Side Of Fear (2 weeks; peak #4)
                  9 9 Lee "Scratch" Perry - Rainford (3 weeks; peak #5)
                  10 10 Lee "Scratch" Perry - Heavy Rain (3 weeks; peak #6)
                  11 11 Julia Haltigan - Trouble (4 weeks; peak #4)
                  12 14 Cigarettes After Sex - Cry (9 weeks; peak #1)
                  13 15 Lou Rebecca - Restless (3 weeks; peak #10)
14 6 Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross - Waves (OST) (2 weeks; peak #6)
15 7 Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross - Watchmen: Vol. 03 (OTVST) (2 weeks; peak #7)
16 NE Jim Noir - AM Jazz SPOTIFY
17 17 Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds - Ghosteen (13 weeks; peak #1)
                  18 18 Taylor Swift - Lover (18 weeks; peak #1)
                  19 20 Bat For Lashes - Lost Girls (16 weeks; peak #1)
20 NE Various (Scott Walker / Natalie Portman / Raffey Cassidy) - Vox Lux (OST) SPOTIFY
Film is on Netflix - it's OK but doesn't really work. Sia's songs (barely featured in the film) and Walker's score are good enough to chart, though.

21 13 John Williams - Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker (OST) (2 weeks; peak #13)
                  22 22 Magne Furuholmen - White Xmas Lies (4 weeks; peak #10)
                  23 16 Harry Styles - Fine Line (2 weeks; peak #16)
24 21 Leonard Cohen - Thanks For The Dance (5 weeks; peak #3)

32 NE Una Healy - Wild Grasses - the vocal production is a little bit off in this song for some reason
I kinda prefer "Hey Boy" to "It Just Takes Time".

I used to like The Modern but at first listen I don't like your #1 I'm afraid! Though I'm loving "Wild Roses" at the moment so thanks for that.

Franky Wah is great and nice bounce back for Grace Carter. Una's song is alright too.
