  • Nice to see Hania Rani and Sebastien Tellier charting.
Blanche album is alright, it has some impressive moments ("Till We Collide", "Summer Nights").

Fun Tonight is clearly a single. 1000 Doves and Alice. Can't believe Skrillex is involved in Plastic Doll as it's not rubbish.
The instrumental interludes are co-written by Morgan Kibby who records as White Sea (her albums are great) and was previously in M83. If only they'd worked together on the whole album - it could have been a progressive dance / pop crossover classic like Ray Of Light. As it is, it resembles a more intelligent Kesha. Most of this will sound dated in a few years time.

        • That’s funny, as Fun Tonight is most people’s least favourite in the album thread

Mine are Sour Candy, 911, Sine From Above and Enigma.

          • Really good chart - Jessie Ware, Charli XCX, Foxes Blanche, Camden Cox, Kim Petras , Cigarettes After Sex, Chain Gang of 1974.

The Blanche & Chain Gang of 1974 albums are on my list to listen to. Chromatica is good but so far not lived up to my expectations- need to listen more.

10 NE Nina - Sleepwalking BANDCAMP / SPOTIFY

2018 set from German born London based Nina Boldt. Much better than her new album - higher quota of strong songs.
11 NE Maserati - Enter The Mirror BANDCAMP / SPOTIFY
Rock / electronic instrumental band featured on 13 Reasons Why: Season 4 official playlist SPOTIFY (which substitutes for any soundtrack albums this year).
              12 9 I Break Horses - Warnings (5 weeks; peak #1)

              17 12 Lady Gaga - Chromatica (2 weeks; peak #12)
18 NE Nina ft Lau - Synthian BANDCAMP / SPOTIFY

New album. As with a lot of "synthwave" it has the "right" retro sounds but the songs simply aren't strong enough. Neither is her voice IMO. Synthpop should stand out to be commercial - which is why Wolfclub work so well.
              19 14 Run The Jewels - RTJ4 (2 weeks; peak #14)
              20 21 Tops - I Feel Alive (10 weeks; peak #2)

              23 16 Sol Seppy - I.A.A.Y.A. (I Am As You Are) Pt 1 (4 weeks; peak #4)
              24 13 Anne Clark - Unstill Life (2 weeks; peak #13)
              25 18 SPC ECO - June LP (2 weeks; peak #18)
              26 20 Sparks - A Steady Drip, Drip, Drip (4 weeks; peak #6)
              27 19 Nicole Atkins - Italian Ice (2 weeks; peak #19)
              28 28 Wolfclub - Runaways (6 weeks; peak #2)
29 NE Dion - Blues With Friends SPOTIFY

Features Springsteen, Paul Simon, Van Morrison and others.

              • 6 NE Nina - Sleepwalking
Not quite the "99 Luftballons" I was hoping for (I know that's two completely different acts). "Sleepwalking" in particular like some of those Nordic synthpop/electropop revival acts from 10-15 years ago.
35 NE Jarv Is... - Save The Whale
                Decent. Oddly familiar nonetheless.

The #1s reign is as long as if it's a regular modern chart based on streaming numbers.

                    • Just realised i made a boo-boo in my chart posting recently, implying that Jessie Ware was Radio 1 playlisted when she isn't - and i update the damn thing! Shame she's not. Very weird. Maybe Jessie Reyez confused me there and i misremembered!

                      • It is odd that they’ve ditched her when she’s arguably at her peak, yet they’ll play something as generic as Daisies.

Saw this 2017 film on Film4. Really great story of an unlikely female rapper and her quirky friends. PBNJ are the fictional band of the film. This should have charted worldwide. See Albums...

                            • 36 NE Yello - Waba Duba - you've beaten me to charting it, essentially it's reminiscent of their classics, especially "The Race"
Good entries by Doves & Annie.

Also I like the new additions from Mike Haunted, Jessie Frye, Annie, Polly Scattergood & Magne Furuholmen.

It's only 16 and a half minutes! A poetry set backed by music. 9 tracks on it so i wasn't sure if i should call it a mini album.

those two songs are somewhat decent, but the description is slightly troubling. I can only assume Claire decide to withdraw from any publicity or to avoid breaching contractual obligations, maybe?

She's been self-releasing since 2018, though. Lily Allen took herself off Twitter, too. As did Demi Lovato. It's too much for some people. Regarding her YouTube channel, she might simply have forgotten about it - you can still get them on YT so it's not like they're hidden from anyone that won't approve.

Although her last couple of uploads have an ominous description on them, considering the fact i can't find any trace of this EP that was meant to come out:

Hello, I'm Clare Maguire, a singer-songwriter from the UK. This is the first track from my new EP coming out early 2017. The track is called 'Keep Running'. Video made by me. After years of being told 'no' I'm finally saying 'yes' and putting out tracks that have been shelved because I like them. Thank you for your support. Love, Clare xxxx
The EP is listed on Wiki but not on Discogs. Even the cover of You Keep Me Hangin On isn't on there. She was on Virgin in 2016.

Those two tracks you quoted do sound like they could have been on Light After Dark - the Polydor album.

                                            • New Jessie Ware is great. Some good climbs for last week's entries, some of which I've also charted this week

I'm also enjoying the recent work of Grace Davies - possibly the best release so far from her.

Good to see The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart back.

I own the signed CD. An album of classy sexuality that is both retro-classic and modern-cool. Just a shame Overtime isn't on it even as a bonus (her competition Haim have 3 bonus tracks on theirs).
