Yeah, voting system in UK is a little bit unfair, but on the other hand,
if a proportional voting system were used,
UKIP would have had at least 60 seats in parliament,
    - that will be bad.
(in my opinion, conservatives are the lesser evil)
Yes, but Greens would have 25. And Liberals would also have more. By the time the new system would be introduced, hopefully UKIP will be less popular - five years is a long time. The BNP went from being a relatively popular alternative to practically non-existent in that time. UKIP right now are in a battle with each other over their "is he - isn't he?" leader. A similar farce to the downfall of the BNP.

I'm now a paid up member of The Green Party so i have to fight for and believe in a better alternative.

Waiting for your comments on Best Coast and Tamaryn. Look, i've got an indie rock #1!

    • I'll try the new Best Coast as John seems to like it too, I've found their previous a little too....like candyfloss.

              Yea, i noticed that
(Silent/quiet because i don't wanna spell/spoil/ruin this rare magic moment on your chart)
              Tamaryn great too,
need more listens of Bill Fay's song, for now i'm ... cold.
Like all three Phases songs (the one with lead male vocal way too low)
Darkness (music is alright, but i can't stand the singer)
48 NEW Years and Years - King VIDEO
Yes, i'm late but i never caught on to its eighties inflections till now.
i'm in love and hate with this song
(unlike Real which i definitely love)
You're late with Twisted too (video seven months on You tube and only 11 views - this must be a (negative) record)
You tube describes Love zombies as Blondie covering Ramones - my first thoughts were Go-go's (Belinda's voice)

Well he only does the high-pitched histrionics at the end of the chorus here, otherwise you wouldn't know it was him

                  31 29 Beck - Heart Is A Drum (6 weeks; peak #23)

41 RE Du Blonde - Black Flag (6 weeks; peak #36)
42 NEW Taylor Swift with Kendrick Lamar - Bad Blood VIDEO
The most star-filled video ever turned out to be something of a disappointment. What's the point in getting all these people together if all you do is pose? It needed a four minute Gaga style prologue and/or epilogue. :-? And neither version of the track is fantastic, the synth style of most of the rest of the album is far better.

                  43 38 Best Coast - California Nights (3 weeks; peak #34)
                  44 33 Blanck Mass - Dead Format (9 weeks; peak #10)

48 RE Maria Olafs - Unbroken (4 weeks; peak #39)
                  Poor vocal let her down.

49 RE Electro Velvet - Still In Love With You (4 weeks; peak #35)
Come on, we can do it!

                  50 20 Cause Of Accident - Sick Of This Sh*t (4 weeks; peak #2)

                  -----------------------------------------------

MY ALBUM CHART 22nd MAY 2015

1 NEW Tom Holkenborg (Junkie XL) - Mad Max: Fury Road (OST)
                  SPOTIFY

A fantastic breakneck film from creator George Miller - let down slightly by its relentless pace (i had to go to Wikipedia to clarify what i had just watched - in 3D at a cinema - as it's so cluttered and hardly pauses to explain itself!). Junkie XL goes full on orchestral and uses his actual name for this dramatic score.

                  2 RE Taylor Swift - 1989 (5 weeks; PEAK)
I finally got the CD - now it can have a genuine run.

                  3 1 Beck - Morning Phase (18 weeks; peak #1)
                  4 2 Kitten - Kitten (21 weeks; peak #1)
5 NEW Ex Cops - Daggers SPOTIFY

                  Quality indie / synth.

6 8 Best Coast - California Nights (3 weeks; PEAK)
                  7 3 Bill Fay - Life Is People (3 weeks; peak #1)
                  8 5 Bill Fay - Bill Fay (3 weeks; peak #2)
9 6 Bill Fay - Time Of The Persecution (3 weeks; peak #3)
                  10 4 Blanck Mass - Dumb Flesh (2 weeks; peak #4)
11 NEW Du Blonde - Welcome Back To Milk SPOTIFY
Reminder that it's Beth Jeans Houghton who has done OK sales-wise with a risky rebranding. I daren't post the uncensored album cover!

12 7 Bill Fay - Who Is The Sender? (3 weeks; peak #4)
13 NEW Best Coast - Fade Away (MA) SPOTIFY
So their least known release is actually among their best - and it's only slightly shorter than their first full length.

                  14 13 Marina and The Diamonds - Froot (10 weeks; peak #1)
                  15 11 Plumb - Exhale (3 weeks; peak #6)
                  16 18 Charli XCX - Sucker (14 weeks; peak #1)
17 9 Patrick Watson - Love Songs For Robots (2 weeks; peak #9)
                  18 12 Priest - Priest (3 weeks; peak #5)
19 NEW Tamar Kaprelian - Yours To Keep (MA) SPOTIFY
I've followed this American-Armenian since her MySpace days and now she's part of an Armenian ensemble with a dreadful mess of a ballad at Eurovision. She released this country-tinged 5-track to coincide.

                  20 10 Roisin Murphy - Hairless Toys (2 weeks; peak #10)
                  21 15 Bjork - Vulnicura (17 weeks; peak #1)
22 NEW Best Coast - Crazy For You SPOTIFY
23 NEW Faith No More - Sol Invictus SPOTIFY
Getting a great reception - can't see why. I was a huge fan of The Real Thing and Angel Dust. The next two albums were among the biggest disappointments of my life as a fan of an artist and this album doesn't do anything to reverse that - nothing is as great as the brilliant Motherf*cker.

24 NEW Chumbawamba - In Memoriam: Margaret Thatcher (MA) YOUTUBE
Recorded in 2005 and posted to fans upon Thatcher's death. Only just discovered this.

25 16 Godspeed You! Black Emperor - Sweet, Asunder and Other Distress (8 weeks; peak #3)
26 NEW Best Coast - The Only Place SPOTIFY
27 14 Tove Lo - Queen Of The Clouds (2 weeks; peak #14)
28 NEW Brandon Flowers - The Desired Effect SPOTIFY
...was not achieved with me. As ever with his solo work (and most of the later Killers) too often corniness ruins any good sounds he can come up with - i might have liked the "Tony" song Diggin' Up The Heart if it didn't evoke Billy Ray freaking Cyrus.

                  29 19 Allie X - CollXtion I (MA) (4 weeks; peak #4)
                  30 20 Mew - +- (4 weeks; peak #6)

Tony's Charts ft Hits / Albums (8th August 20) - Hannah Georgas, Hannah Ferm, Alain Johannes, Arre! MY ALBUM CHART 29th MAY 2015

                        1 2 Taylor Swift - 1989

2 1 Tom Holkenborg (Junkie XL) - Mad Max: Fury Road (OST) (2 weeks; peak #1)
                        3 5 Ex Cops - Daggers (2 weeks; PEAK)
                        4 14 Marina and The Diamonds - Froot (11 weeks; peak #1)
I only found out this week (via an interview where she laughs it off) that Better Than That is allegedly about Marina's former friend Ellie Goulding. Though she denies this, all the lyrical clues and references - and Marina's nod to Greg James and Ellie's own responses on Twitter - suggest it can't be about anyone else. Yes, i know i'd have known sooner if i hadn't abandoned her threads but i can't be doing with arguments anymore, that's why i'm out of the genre forums and anywhere else that's contentious.
Would love a video where Marina kicks "Ellie" out of a window, Bad Blood style!

NAH not that one, Taylor's track is rather dull in remix, I would remove the rap part... beat is OK though....

                                    • MY HITS CHART 5th JUNE 2015

1 NEW Foxes - Body Talk
                                      AUDIO STREAM VIDEO

Her best single since #5 hit Beauty Queen is this eighties type dance-pop track (sounds like Groove Armada / Saint Saviour's Paper Romance and the Stevie Nicks / Ladyhawke synth stormers). Hopefully she's not trying to copy Florence anymore.

                                      2 1 Best Coast - Heaven Sent (5 weeks; peak #1)
                                      3 2 Tamaryn - Hands All Over Me (5 weeks; peak #2)
4 NEW Muse - The Handler LYRIC VIDEO (starring the band)

First of the singles / grats i've liked from upcoming album Drones. Great riff.

5 NEW How I Became The Bomb - Ulay, Oh VIDEO

Video made for artist Marina Abramovic's Museum of Modern Art performance / subsequent film The Artist Is Present. Released last year, the video suddenly went viral in the past week. If an element of artifice is involved it doesn't matter, the emotions are still real and the track is gorgeous.

6 RE Bjork - Stonemilker VIDEO (360 degree virtual reality version) / VIDEO (2D flat version) (17 weeks; peak #1)
Finally the rest of us can enjoy the audio-visual centrepoint of her art gallery exhibition (MoMA again!). "Find your mutual coordinates" and follow Bjork around a barren emotional landscape (at one point there are 3 Bjorks on screen if you do it properly!). TIP: 360 VERSION IS BEST ON GOOGLE CHROME.

                                      7 4 Taylor Swift - Style (16 weeks; peak #1)
                                      8 3 Little Mix - Black Magic (3 weeks; peak #3)
9 NEW Hilary Duff - Sparks VIDEO (Fan Demanded Version) / VIDEO (Tinder version)

Duff's biggest ever hit on my chart (i always found her inferior to Ashlee and Lindsay back then). After a weird video that sidetracked both the song and the best parts for a Tinder experiment Hilary made an edit featuring only those parts - and what parts!! Legs!!! Great colour scheme! An extremely eye-catching vid which elevates the song about 25 places higher than it might have been without it. She deserves a sales hit for this.

                                      10 5 Bill Fay - War Machine (5 weeks; peak #3)
11 6 Pye Corner Audio - Stars Shine Like Eyes / Quasar II (2 weeks; peak #6)
12 7 Taylor Swift - Out Of The Woods (11 weeks; peak #3)
13 NEW Metric - Cascades AUDIO STREAM VIDEO
14 NEW Metric - The Shade AUDIO STREAM VIDEO

Grat and lead single respectively. Cascades edges it with the punchy keys.

15 NEW Sleaford Mods - Face To Faces FAN VIDEO (language) / AUDIO STREAM (album mix) (language)
A split single with The Pop Group and now a grat from upcoming album Key Markets in a slightly different mix.

                                      16 21 The Darkness - Open Fire (4 weeks; peak #13)
                                      17 9 Alex Winston - Careless / We Got Nothing (13 weeks; peak #5)
18 NEW Shura - White Light AUDIO STREAM VIDEO

21 NEW The Do - Sparks LIVE VIDEO / AUDIO STREAM VIDEO
Not to be confused with #9! They just posted an official YT audio so i assume this is the new single.

22 NEW Tom Holkenborg (Junkie XL) - Brothers In Arms AUDIO STREAM VIDEO
NOT the Dire Straits song but the designated promoted theme from Mad Max: Fury Road.

32 40 Taylor Swift with Kendrick Lamar - Bad Blood (3 weeks; PEAK)
Yeah, the video is keeping it afloat! It's still compelling even without much action.

MY ALBUM CHART 5th JUNE 2015

1 NEW The Darkness - Last Of Our Kind
                                      SPOTIFY

Their best material since the debut and for the most part it's good old hard rock - with a couple of nods to Thin Lizzy. No c*ck-rock here, they've left that to Steel Panther!

How Bland, How Boring, How Back To The Start. I only loved Cosmic Love and Rabbit Heart from the debut, Ceremonials (my #10 album of 2012) was full of luxurious textures and strings and soaring melodies. This album has none of that and reverts to plodding stadium indie rock or dull plaintive ballads. I only love two tracks - St Jude and bonus track Hiding.

                                      • Love how your opinion is usually opposite of everyone else on here (regarding Florence).

White Light from Shura is so nice! Glad to see Murphy & Bill Fay still charting. Love Bjorks new video, really cool.

It's a shame Vindrag's not around as he really disliked Ceremonials (as did some other fans) and i'd like to know his opinion. But i fail to see how anyone can love this over the other albums.

She went from Courtney Love to Kate Bush and is now a glorified Suzi Quatro / Laura Marling mess.

                                          • For some reason I've never been a big fan of Flo, I will try the new album anyway.

I'll check Ulay, Oh. Abramovic's that woman who has been associating herself with Gaga right?

                                            • In fact she and Bjork share two coincidences as well as being back to back on my chart - both videos come from MoMA exhibitions. Both Marina and Bjork's ex Matthew Barney took part in a collection of sex-themed short films under the banner Destricted which i own on DVD.

                                              • I might not be into Bjork's music but that interactive music video is outstanding. Love the Google Maps element to it.

I guess it was only a matter of time before someone attempted this. Really good how they made it possible.

Just listened to that Foxes track, sounds pretty good on first listen.

                                                • Interesting #1! I only just started listening to it and so far I find it a bit boring compared to the best songs on her first album (especially Youth which is decade top 50 material for me).

I am surprised you really dislike Flo's last album, it's not groundbreaking but its quite enjoyable
