    ^Lyric video by BloodyMoffin.

    2 6 Blanche - Fences (2 weeks; PEAK)

3 2 Jarv Is... - House Music All Night Long (5 weeks; peak #2)

8 8 The Birthday Massacre - The Sky Will Turn (11 weeks; peak #1)
    9 9 Jessie Ware - Spotlight (6 weeks; peak #2)

    ^Icarus remix.

    10 12 Lizzy Farrall - Addict (11 weeks; peak #4)
    11 10 The Psychedelic Furs - You'll Be Mine (4 weeks; peak #5)
12 18 Carlie Hanson - Daze Inn (2 weeks; PEAK)
13 16 AKA George - Bad For You (2 weeks; PEAK)
    14 11 I Break Horses - Death Engine (8 weeks; peak #11)
15 NE Spray - We Are Gothic / I Am Gothic

As detailed on last week's albums. I've now decided to chart the song. 2017 rework / 2003 single remix (different to the album).

    16 19 Ren Harvieu - Strange Thing (4 weeks; peak #12)
17 NE Elephant Tree - Bird

More modern prog-metal / space rock.

18 26 Lizzy Farrall - Gas Lighting (2 weeks; PEAK)
    19 14 The Psychedelic Furs - Don't Believe (9 weeks; peak #1)
20 15 Clannad - Who Knows (Where The Time Goes?) (4 weeks; peak #9)
    21 17 Selena Gomez - Rare (12 weeks; peak #1)
22 NE Dua Lipa - Physical

So i relented and submitted to the 80s vibe! Was probably the unoriginal lyrics that put me off it. The new single Break My Heart is a lousy redo of INXS though.

23 NE Sazzie - Hot Stuff

Not a Donna Summer cover! Good Natured / Lovestarrs singer is back with her best one under the Sazzie name.

    24 24 Gabrielle Aplin - My Mistake (6 weeks; peak #18)
25 34 Pound Shop Boys - Coronation Street (2 weeks; PEAK)

Autobahn has both the highest new entry and biggest climber!

    26 13 Sian - Electricity (2 weeks; peak #13)
    27 21 Marina - About Love (9 weeks; peak #3)
28 NE Venus - No Signs / Amy / You're Alright, I Guess (Wicked Things EP)

^Entire EP (less than 10 minutes) is up as a YT stream from Leeds rockers.

29 NE Purity Ring - I, Like The Devil

^I added that comma as that's what they actually sing. Title could be misconstrued otherwise.

30 NE Daphne and The Fuzz - Early Morning

Rather short but nice retro feel.

    31 20 Taylor Swift - The Man (9 weeks; peak #4)
    32 22 Best Coast - Different Light (9 weeks; peak #9)
    33 23 Echosmith - Love You Better (2 weeks; peak #23)
34 NE Smoke Fairies - Elevator

One of the few tracks on the album that justifies OCC including them on Rock / Metal charts.

35 NE Rekording / Chris Franklin - Stay The F*ck At Home

A poem by Franklin on coronavirus urgency became a viral hit when set to music by Bob E Kelley on his Rekording channel (he was an AOR musician in the 70s/80s).

    36 35 Winona Oak - Another Story (2 weeks; peak #35)
    37 29 Ren Harvieu - Yes Please (12 weeks; peak #2)

    18 9 The Weeknd - After Hours (2 weeks; peak #9)

    • Good to see Physical, shame you don’t like Break Your Heart!

      • 39 NE Desire - Escape - that's a cute one albeit slightly repetitive

Yay for Lizzy debut in the album top 5. Smoke Fairies' single is also enjoyable.

What about Elephant Tree? I wouldn't even know about them if you hadn't charted them!

Oh i just went on Twitter and saw what Hep is doing. Watching Eurovision 2009 again. Go back to a show i haven't seen and i might join in (pre 1986).

With regards to the comment section, I just don't see you making a comment in my notifications...
I have just noticed that #EurovisionAgain was treding, so I joined in.

        • Great top 4 and great to see "Physical" finally enter. Not a fan of the Pound Shop Boy one, as interesting as it is!

          • Sorry heppolo the comment thing was referring to me! You can't quote a comment so i removed it from that section and edited it into my next post. I realised afterwards that asking a question in a comment was a bit pointless.

My initial comment was more aimed at Thriller. You spend an hour and a half to 2 hours putting a chart post together and get a response within 2 minutes on a song everyone knows. Even the Jessie Ware remix gets not a mention.

No mentions of Birthday Massacre album - Lizzy Farrall basically nicked their purple bunny thing for her look and has some other similarities. I realise TBM have no promo videos but a comment even to say they are average/disappointing (like last time) would be good. The guitar sound at the end of Crush is the greatest musical moment of the year so far. I'm happy Ste likes them a bit but it wasn't him i was getting at.

PS: nobody likes Janet Devlin's best song in ages. Not even LastDreamer ?

I actually liked Janet Devlin's song, but I forgot to find a place for it in my own chart

Sadly this album of mainly covers is not great - but there's 3 or 4 tracks that are good (including Stones cover Playing With Fire and the doo-wop song In The Rain) and it's trying to do something at least.

                • So nice to see the extended top 75 chart today.

You've beaten me to featuring those three songs in your chart, I definitely like them even more (all gonna be pretty high in my chart in days to come)
                  54 NE Hania Rani - F Major
64 NE Hayley Mary - Brat
66 NE The Naked and Famous - Come As You Are

65 NE Sateen - Crystallized - what's this all about? the music video reminds me of those weird youtube channels
71 NE Beans On Toast - Strange Days - I haven't heard it before, strange days indeed but sounds weirdly cosy.

TOPS have actually been frequently featured in my chart, but are yet to peak higher than #5, yet you make me look at their catalogue once again.

                  • Well it’s nice to see Tove Lo, albeit a lot lower than I have her this week! Also Kiesza.

Sorry, new Charli one is terrible IMO.

                      • Nice top 6 - the Tops #1 is good. I like the Charli one but need to listen a bit more.

Good to see Tove Lo enter too.

SPC ECO - I forgot all about them but I've liked some of their stuff in the past - annoying it's not on Spotify though - I like all my music in one place. "Don't Mind Me" stands out on first listen.

I think they've retreated to Bandcamp because it suits them as being fairer to artists. The first song on the EP is quite atypical and is a bit like Lily Allen at her softest. There's a YT link but it's not official and i wanted to direct people to Bandcamp where all the info is in one place. I might post the YT next week to highlight that song, though.

26 NE The Sounds - Things We Do For Love - interesting, I wasn't expecting it to end up as high
29 NE Another Sky - Brave Face - I was waiting since the build-up is quite slow and intricate, but well the climatic part was worth it
56 NE Ane Brun - Feeling Like I Wanna Cry - drowsy
61 NE Igorrr - Very Noise
                                - musically and stylistically all over the place, but also so much fun

Laura Marling is a bit too low in my opinion. The album (fixed my initial "EP" mistake) is a crude yet recognisable image of Laura's other work. Too same-y, probably.

                                • Another Sky were added by Radio 1. An unusually great choice - not picked by any other station. The group have played on Jools Holland so aren't unknown.
Marling's release is an actual album not an EP. I respect her more than like her - Lump was a better project.

yup, I misattributed LP as an EP because I was thinking of the 13-minute short film she has just released for the song.

My celebrity crushes : Monika Sedziuviene, Kristina Ivanova (YVA).
In my head I like to imagine LastDreamer in the land of Lithuania right now with a suitcase of simcards, a box of chocolates and a wedding ring. It would be a great base for an epic Eurovision fan fiction.

                                              4 4 Blanche - Fences (5 weeks; peak #2)

                                              5 5 I Break Horses - Death Engine (11 weeks; peak #5)

                                              6 NE Woodkid - Goliath

                                              Long time coming!
7 6 Janet Devlin - Away With The Fairies (7 weeks; peak #2)

8 NE Mecha Maiko - Phones

Canadian (again!!) synthpop artist Hayley Stewart. Nice dance-inflected sound.
                                              9 8 Tops - I Feel Alive (3 weeks; peak #8)

                                              10 10 SPC ECO - Wishful Thinking / Don't Mind Me / Who We Are / Let's Get A Little Bit (April EP) (3 weeks; peak #10)

I really recommend Wishful Thinking which is minimal and tender like Lily Allen.
11 29 Another Sky - Brave Face (2 weeks; PEAK)

Great song that builds and builds (see also #5). Yet another one that is better than Florence. Added by Radio 1.
                                              12 9 Little Mix - Break Up Song (5 weeks; peak #3)

                                              ^Official vertical video.
13 NE Pearl Jam - River Cross

Eddie Vedder did a performance of this for One World: Together At Home and was a clear standout (along with Taylor Swift). I had neglected the album but am charting this as it is a stunning song in the mould of their early anthemic ballads.
                                              14 17 Dua Lipa - Physical (4 weeks; PEAK)

15 28 The Howl and The Hum - Until I Found A Rose (2 weeks; PEAK)

Great synth/indie - a lot better than The Killers currently, bit like Slow Readers Club. On Radio X playlist.
16 7 Jarv Is... - House Music All Night Long (8 weeks; peak #2)
17 NE Spray - Chump (For My Love)
                                              BANDCAMP

You've got to love the punning there! Like Heaton and Abbott gone synthpop or Chumbawamba but subtler. From an upcoming EP. The track is available in earlier versions on YT.
18 11 The Birthday Massacre - The Sky Will Turn (14 weeks; peak #1)
                                              19 12 Cam - Till There's Nothing Left (11 weeks; peak #1)
20 NE Jessie Ware - Ooh La La

About as meaningless as the title suggests and she's not even a forefront vocal on it. But it's a decent dance track.
21 NE Charli XCX - Claws

22 NE Empathy Test - Monsters

New song from UK synthpop band.
                                              23 16 Carlie Hanson - Daze Inn (5 weeks; peak #12)
24 37 The Sounds - Safe and Sound (2 weeks; PEAK)

She goes from nu metal to sounding like Mariah on this album! It's so bewildering even for me - i may have to listen a few more times. It's so eclectic it's like commercial insanity!

I had no idea this slipped out digitally in January - it hasn't charted on any classical charts. Unfortunately Lisa's deep register only suits the first movement. So soon after Beth Gibbons' triumph, too. You can see the original live concert on YT - including bonus DCD and Gladiator material.

Sadly the rest of the album is mostly as unremarkable as the singles. Don't know why they are still listed under rock / metal. It's not even REM level heaviness.

                                              • Ain't nobody got time to watch this whole One World: Together At Home, that's why I haven't seen this Eddie Vedder performance.
I only noticed Jordyn Jones' song after I have finished another of my "missed the cut" section, the melody is so familiar.
I quite like Zella Day's song, the good kind of throwback for me.
                                                Impressive Mecha Maiko debut.

I only listened to Rina Sawayama one and it's as if Babymetal has decided to split all of the their songs' numerous parts into separate songs.

                                                • I've not heard of Woodkid before though that's an interesting atmospheric track.

I can see why you have made the Chumbawumba comparison on the Spray track - similar tone to the vocal. Bit Corrs like too.

Not a fan of the new Jessie Ware one.

Charli XcX & The Howl & the Hun quite good. Dua Lipa still climbing too and like your top 4.

Not listened to "The Bonny" - thought the songs I've heard so far were a little disappointing though I have enjoyed him in the past.

                                                  • Jessie’s new one is quite Roisin-esque, really like to. Surprised to see new Charli that low down, it’s better than Forever (which is just noise) IMO.

I didn't watch the whole thing - i skipped through the pre main show six hour stream and the first hour of the main show up until i caught up near the end. So i caught every performance but skipped through the ones that i wasn't into. Only took me 2 hours to "watch" the whole 8 hours. Plus there was a 2 hour main show broadcast live and a UK TV version the next night. Eddie and most of the interesting ones were in the main show - Christine and The Queens was in the pre-show.

You have heard Woodkid's Run Boy Run steophonic - it has been used in numerous TV spots. The video has over 74 million views.
