    Hey Jake

Thanks for coming by! And don’t worry, I don’t think it’s been a while… it’s been a much bigger while since I last commented on other charts I hope I can catch up soon!

Well, i'm taking part in this months FSC so can Leave's Eyes perform strongly and win some high points from me. I've got to admit i've still got checked this song out. I'm hoping for amazingness, no pressure.
I’m not sure if you will enjoy that song because it’s the symphonic metal genre, so typical Tansike stuff But I’m excited to see the results soon.

Impressive to see Iggy going into your top 5. I like Savior but i've liked some of her previous songs more.
It was an instant hit for me, though I’m already more over it than I first expected. It’s still better than “Switch” or “Mo Bounce”.

Ok, this is low key growing on me much more than i anticipated. I thought it'd drop out of my chart fairly quickly but its been on the climb for three weeks and now on the verge of going top 10.
Great news! That’s amazing… and it’s actually a similar case with me, as I also like it much more than I thought I would do, as it’s basically “Stay” 2.0 and I wasn’t blown away at first…

Hopefully this will grow on you. I wasn’t a fan at first but with time I enjoyed this enough for that #13 debut, and last week it grew on me massively!

OMG Is this a pure co-incidence. Best friend entered my chart last week and is now up to #5 in my latest chart. I'd love to see this become a big hit in your chart too.
    Wow, what a nice surprise!!
How did you discover it? I’m part of a new game on UKMix (UKMixtape) and this was chosen from another member there so that’s how I discovered it and it’s so freaking catchy! I even like the Jimmy Fallon performance more than the studio version. So fun and easy to listen to. Not sure how big this will end up but so far it’s definitely a moderate hit.

    Same here

Oh well, at least they didn't pull that when they did the VC release of Red, Blue, and Yellow...

Those first two shows you mentioned are brand-new to me, but I did watch the first couple episodes of Discovery with my bf when they first came out (he knows the Star Trek franchise a lot better than I do.) It was a lot darker and more dramatic/intense than I expected Are you a big Star Trek fan overall? What's your favorite Star Trek series? I feel you with the Netflix originals, though! I've seen most/all of Grace And Frankie, Stranger Things, Disjointed, BoJack Horseman, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt...and I think that's it?
What do you mean there? Did Yellow ever came out? I’m sorry but I don’t remember that at all… #flopfan

Haha no, I never watched Star Trek in my life, though I obviously know what it’s about and also know some of the characters there. So Discovery is the first thing I’m watching from Star Trek and I was blown away by a few episodes. This weeks season finale was quite disappointing though.
Aw, I forgot to mention Stranger Things. I binge-watched season two on the sunday after it came out and LOVED it. Also know BoJack Horseman, but never watched it. Already thought about watching Grace and Frankie… there’s actually a lot of nice things on there. That’s so cool, it’s basically impossible to get bored these days

Agree! Oh, really? A shame, I thought it may become a bigger hit than that…

Well, since I’m not the biggest fan of “Meaning Of Life”, this also speaks against checking “Ctrl” out As I said, maybe I’ll check it out in a less busier time, though I think that won’t happen anymore. Maybe I’ll check out her next album if it does come out this year or so, so it’ll be ‘fresh’.

‘bubbly’ is a very fitting word to describe the song as well, and it really grew on me last week, so you’ll be very pleased with its position on the upcoming chart, as there’s definitely something to celebrate Hmm not sure about that, at least not yet… I admit she already released several bops but not as many as Selena, Demi or Ari. Let’s see how her first full-length album will be… I just hope it will be out soon. Now seems to be a perfect time with “Let Me Go” being a little hit in some countries and “Capital Letters” becoming quite a hit as well due to the ‘Fifty Shades Freed’ movie.

Definitely! And yes, I think it only charted in the UK… let me check… oh, it really didn’t chart anywhere, not even in the UK! What a wasted opportunity then
Maybe she will re-release it after “IDGAF” since that one is becoming a hit as well for her now.

      I definitely agree on this!

Yeah. She’s my second most favorite solo-artist, and was on the edge to become even THE most favorite artist for me, and this would have been my first concert with her and should have been the first concert with my partner, so there are similar things which makes this cancellation quite bitter for me. Also, we already tried to attend Ariana’s concert, and Gaga’s concert already got postponed once, so three tries and all of them failed, it looks like something doesn’t want me to attend a concert with my partner
My next concert may be Evanescence or Imagine Dragons, but I’ll probably go alone to Evanescence and already asked my Mom for the ID one… if I would have known about that earlier, I would have wanted to go with my partner sooo bad

Yes and no…. back when they originally came out, they didn’t do enough for me to let them onto my chart, but I know they existed. With time, I started to like them more and now I think it’s actually sad they never made it onto my chart, as they both are nice songs, especially “Stay The Night”. But as you say, “Break Free” really was the main reason why I got to know Zedd.
As for “The Middle”, so far it’s looking good. I really enjoyed “Stay” after a while and “The Middle” is currently on a similar level, so it may be possible for him to get another certified hit with it. Depends on its longevity, of course. Maybe I’ll be over it in two weeks, but right now I don’t see that.
Does he have a stronger discography on your charts?

that’s okay! It’s still not a masterpiece of course, but I think it doesn’t deserve the bad critics it gets. So I guess you weren’t that much into the “20/20” albums?

o Speaking of adding songs/albums - I did with both of Noah's latest releases on Friday, and I'm definitely feeling "My Way" more than "We Are..." too!
o When you mentioned Gaga getting blacklisted, I honestly thought that meant "Joanne" would tumble 3-OUT.
o Really pleased to see that Top 20 debut for "Capital Letters." Hopefully it can climb "up baby, up" to your Top 10...
o Glad that "Perfect For You" is still hanging around, but this didn't give it enough points to reach Platinum? I don't think I ever asked exactly how your points system works...

Yet another chart with no reason to apologize, Tansike!
Oooohh I would absolutely LOVE it when “hopeless fountain kingdom” may be your next album addition! Also, “Colors” is a great track, so a deserved #1 hit on your chart for Halsey

YASSS. “My Way” is so incredibly catchy, I love it! “We Are…” also grew on me, though I was hoping for a stronger track considering the feature.

I was thinking about that to be honest But yeah, it didn’t happen. But she’ll have a big drop this week, not only because of the cancellation, but also because I think the piano version is actually very boring and I keep on skipping it…

      It will climb…

My points system is actually very easy… a weekly #1 gets 40 points, #2 gets 39 points and so on, down to #40 getting one point. This may be a bit unfair sometimes (like a #2 scoring nearly as much as a #1 despite me maybe liking the #1 much more etc.) but it’s the easiest way for me to give out points and certifications. Also, “Perfect For You” hang on longer than expected, also because I keep on spinning the album and I keep on loving it, especially the first half… so, maybe Rachel will have something to celebrate very soon – who knows?

      Thanks a lot

Oh really? That's nice to hear, as i know you weren't a big fan of her previous songs. "We Are" is definitely a fun pop track, so i'm glad you enjoyed it!

It had a strong first week and i enjoyed it a lot. Let's hope she'll finally released that damn album...

I knew you wouldn't like that drop and the upcoming week doesn't look much better tbh But yeah, it had a fantastic start and to be fair i'm still just a casual listener when it comes to Kylie, so she's far from a hitmaker on my chart.

week 07/2018 – 15 february 2018 writing History My Way

          • Singles Top40

It was about time! Noah Cyrus earns her first number one single ever, as her “My Way” alongside One Bit climbs 2-1 in its third week. It’s not only Noah’s first number one, but also One Bit’s first chart topper (and only chart entry so far). Noah already got a huge hit last year with “Again”, which drops 11-15 this week, which is its lowest position ever in its 21-weeks-chartrun. As if this isn’t already enough to celebrate, her “We Are…” featuring MØ rises 8-4, becoming a third Top5 hit for Miley Cyrus’ little sister.

Out of six debuts in the Top40, three of them made the Top10, with one of them doing so last minute. The highest arrival goes to Marshmello, as he teamed up with Anne-Marie on “Friends”, which is new at #5. It’s his second chart entry following the Selena Gomez collaboration “Wolves”, which hit number one last year, while Anne-Marie already got five entries on her own prior “Friends”, but the new track is only her third Top5 hit. Finnish singer and former UK X-Factor contestant Saara Aalto has the first entry from this years Eurovision Song Contest season, or at least a possible entry. The singer was already chosen to represent Finland on this years contest, and the public will decide between three songs, with “Monsters” being the first revealed one of these three. It debuts at #9 after only discovering it on Monday. From an upcoming ESC artist to the winner from 2013s contest… Danish singer-songwriter Emmelie de Forest is finally back! The singer just released a new mini album called “History”, and its title track becomes her seventh Top10 hit at #10. The previous single “Sanctuary” also returns to #18 this week.

All other new entries are a bit lower on the chart. Following the surprise success with “As She Pleases” on the album charts, Madison Beer also gets her very first notation on the singles charts now, as “Dead” arrives at #20. It took him some time, but James Bay is finally back with new music in form of “Wild Love”, which becomes his third chart entry ever at #32. Last but not least, Calvin Harris owns the sixth and final new entry as his latest output “Nuh Ready Nuh Ready” featuring PartyNextDoor just made it to #40.

The rest of the best: Halsey’s “Sorry” dips 1-2, followed by Hailee Steinfeld, who gets her very first Top3 hit as “Capital Letters” jumps 13-3. Leaves’ Eyes’ “Across The Sea” is down 4-6 while Nina Kraljic’s “Lay You Down” (6-7) and Zedd’s, Maren Morris’ & Grey’s “The Middle” (7-8) both slip one spot each.

Due to these changes in the Top10, there are obviously a few songs that have to leave that part of the charts, and most of them are doing so with a quite big drop. Iggy Azalea’s “Savior” falls 5-11, though it has the smallest drops of them all. Auri’s former top hit “Night 13” already decreases 3-12 only in its third week, while Sigrid’s “Strangers” goes down 9-16 after six consecutive weeks in the Top10. As if these drops aren’t big enough, the biggest one goes to Lady Gaga, who tumbles down 10-27 with “Joanne”.

What else is happening that’s worth a mention this week? First of all, there’s only one new certification on both charts, and the lucky one is Rachel Platten, who scores her very first Platinum certified song ever with “Perfect For You” (35-34). This makes the current era a nearly perfect one, as the album “Waves” also earned her the very first Platinum certified album, plus the previous single “Broken Glass” already became her first Gold certified single a few weeks ago. Other than that, Sofi Tukker’s “Best Friend” reaches a new peak this week by climbing 18-13, The Dark Element keep on rising again as “My Sweet Mystery” (28-21) and “The Ghost And The Reaper” (25-22) are about to enter the upper half again, with “Dead To Me” making a re-entry at #35, and last but not least, some big hits like Machine Gun Kelly’s & Co.’s “Home” (20-29) or My Indigo’s “Out Of The Darkness” (19-30) are falling a lot. Meanwhile, with “For You” by Liam Payne and Rita Ora, there’s also a third re-entry at #38 due to the release of the ‘Fifty Shades Freed’ soundtrack. It’s also worth a mention to see Clean Bandit’s and Zara Larsson’s Year-End Charts 2017 number one “Symphony” leaving the charts after staying there for a very long time.

Hailee Steinfeld’s “Capital Letters” is the biggest climber while Lady Gaga’s “Joanne” is the biggest loser this week.

The lack of big new entries makes room for older releases to shine again, and so it happens that The Dark Element’s self-titled album rises back to the top this week for a fourth non-consecutive week at number one (4-1). It was also the most played album of the week, as it gathered over 100 plays for all of its songs, and it’s currently the second most played album of the year, only behind the obvious “Sign Of The Dragonhead” by Leaves’ Eyes, which is down 1-3 after four weeks on top.

The biggest competition for The Dark Element was one of two new entries. Danish singer-songwriter Emmelie de Forest won the Eurovision Song Contest back in 2013 with the song “Only Teardrops”, soon after her debut album with the same name came out and became a huge hit, as it’s currently certified with 2x Platinum. Apart from an acoustic EP, fans had to wait quite long for a new EP or a new album, but last week she was finally ready to release the mini album “History”, which enters the charts at #2. While the last soundtrack for ‘Fifty Shades Darker’ only reached #11 and left the charts after a single week, its follow-up soundtrack to ‘Fifty Shades Freed’ is having a much better start, as it’s the second new arrival of the week at #4. That’s not a big surprise though, as the soundtrack already spawned two Top10 hits with “For You” by Liam Payne & Rita Ora and “Capital Letters” by Hailee Steinfeld & BloodPop.

The rest of the Top10: Rachel Platten’s “Waves” goes up 6-5, First Aid Kit’s “Ruins” is down 3-6, followed by Madison Beer’s “As She Pleases” (2-7), Justin Timberlake’s “Man Of The Woods” (5-8) and Halsey’s “hopeless fountain kingdom” (7-9). The tenth and final entry in the upper half is “Shine” by Anette Olzon, which returns 12-10 in its 115th charting week.

Camila Cabello’s “Camila” (8-11) and Meghan Patrick’s “Country Music Made Me Do It” (10-12) already proved to be successes, but they both leave the Top10 for the first time after four weeks. “Here Come The Runts” by Awolnation is also leaving the upper half, but with a much harsher drop following its debut a week ago (9-20). Last but not least, Rachel Platten is really riding on a big wave when it comes to success, and now her last album “Wildfire” is also making a little comeback at #15.

I backtracked as i thought i'd posted only a couple of weeks ago only to realise i've not posted in this thread for over a month. Mind you i was preoccupied with helping my mum after her operation in early January so a lot of my time last month was spent helping out, so not as much time on here. At least things are back to normal now.

Oh Well, you never know. I might like this just as long as there aren't any of those growling vocals. Also i'm planning on going through all the entries this weekend when i will have a bit more time. I don't mean to plug my entry here (of course i do ) but the official music video for my entry was released two days ago and its stunning. Even i wasn't prepared for such a beautiful looking video considering its a dance track.

Yes, that's what initially put me off the fact it was a blatant attempt at recreating Stay. The music video has boosted the song which in turns has tugged at my affections.

Well, anything is possible but i doubt Hailee will be returning to my chart this weekend. I've been enjoying many other songs all week although a few of them are already in my chart.

Ahh that's so cool. I thought it might've been the JakeP effect. I didn't sign up to the UK Mixtape game as it started when i was still struggling to find time to come on UK Mix. It's still amazing to see Best friend impacted here. I've been aware of the song for a few weeks after seeing the song #1 in Benjamin's dance genre chart, but i never got round to checking out the song. Then the song was #1 on Belgium iTunes which got me interested so then i checked it out on YouTube and a week later it entered my chart. I love the song even more now hence its climb into my top 5.

Which brings me to this weeks highlights.

1 (2) One Bit & Noah Cyrus – My Way

I should revisit this one. I didn't really get into this when i first heard the track so perhaps with fresh ears it'll click.

                3 (13) Hailee Steinfeld & BloodPop – Capital Letters

Wow So this really has grown on you. Does this make Capital letters Hailee's highest peaking single in your chart?

                5 (NEW) Marshmello & Anne-Marie – Friends

I've been listening to this track quite a few times this week so it's looking set for a decent chart entry for me this weekend. It's looking likely to be Anne-Marie's biggest hit since Rockabye, and the music video is coming tomorrow and it looks like it's gonna be great.

9 (NEW) Saara Aalto – Monsters

I can't believe a song of this standard is only part of Finland's selection process. This is the type of pop anthem the UK should be sending to eurovision. Needless to say Monsters is so much better than the SuRie song Storm that is going to represent the UK. I can't see the UK doing that well this year. No change there then.

13 (18) Sofi Tukker feat. NERVO, The Knocks & Alisa Ueno – Best Friend

                Keep climbing.

32 (NEW) James Bay – Wild Love
40 (NEW) Calvin Harris feat. PartyNextDoor – Nuh Ready Nuh Ready

Neither of these are even close to making my new top 20. Wild love is easily the better of the two but after one play i was unconvinced (and that lyric video made my head hurt ) then a second play didn't really change that. Whereas the Calvin Harris song is just pure disappointment. I'm unsure what he's trying to achieve making music like this, i just want Calvin to go to making "songs".

As for Emmelie's standards on my charts, it's surprisingly her lowest peaking track ever so far But i have to admit i enjoy this song more than i thought i would. But i totally get what you mean.

Aww... i hope everything is fine now with your mom <3
Real life and especially things like these are always more important, so it's okay to step back a bit with UKMix during these times.

Hmmmmm.... We'll see! It obviously also depends on all other entries, and as if it's a strong month overall or not. I also plan to go through all entries later today. I'm excited, as i didn't take part last month or even the month before iirc. Excited for your entry... i'm always even more excited to hear the entires of members i really like on here (like yours or Mainshow)

That's "In My Arms", which debuted exactly ten years ago and had a really strong chartrun (9-5-5-6-3-5-7-10-10-Out). There was just a weekly Top10 then

No, sadly not, not this time I read "Best Friend" was the song to the iPhone X ads so i thought this may have been the way how you discovered it. I also saw it's charting high in Belgium, but only after hearing it on the Game i mentioned. Sometimes it's really funny how people discover things, there are always so many ways...
Have you seen their performance on Jimmy Fallon? I love it!

Hopefully! I would love this to be a hit on other personal charts as well It's obviously nothing new or innovative, but it's just so incredibly catchy. And i love me some Noah, she's having an amazing run for me.

It really did! Hopefully the same happens with you Yes, it does... previously, "Let Me Go" was her highest peaking single with a #4 peak.

What an amazing trailer Thanks for posting! Need to watch the official video as soon as possible!
This is also her biggest hit since "Rockabye" on my charts, though she already collected some other great hits with "Ciao Adios" or "Then" here. She really has a lot of potential and i hope she releases a debut album (or at least EP) soon.

I know!! This is amazing and could do wonders on the contest. The second song called "Domino" is out now and it's also not bad, though "Monsters" still is much better. So fingers crossed they pick this as their entry this year. Saara will slay that stage I haven't heard the UK entry so far so i can't judge that one yet...

To be honest both of them are likely to already leave the charts next week as i keep on skipping them. While it was nice to get new tracks by both of the artists, i really also expected something better by both of them.

Not many of my favourites in your chart, to be honest. And, as far as I can see, no Swiss artists either (I'm not from Switzerland and currently Dabu Fantastic have two songs in my chart: one @ #33 and another one @72 and also there are two songs of I Quattro - what a paradox). And Kylie's dropping so faaast... In my chart it coldn't yet even thrive properly Big plus for Feuer - definitely stands out from the crowd.

Haha no, I never watched Star Trek in my life, though I obviously know what it's about and also know some of the characters there. So Discovery is the first thing I'm watching from Star Trek and I was blown away by a few episodes. This weeks season finale was quite disappointing though.

Aw, I forgot to mention Stranger Things. I binge-watched season two on the sunday after it came out and LOVED it. Also know BoJack Horseman, but never watched it. Already thought about watching Grace and Frankie… there's actually a lot of nice things on there. That's so cool, it's basically impossible to get bored these days
Ha, no worries! You're never a flop. I'm often much less clear than I realize, so I've gotta watch my wording/phrasing more carefully I just meant that Yellow got its Virtual Console release on the same day as Red and Blue (February 27, 2016), unlike what they decided to do with the VC releases of Gold, Silver, and Crystal.

Aw Bummer that the first Star Trek season to ever really hook you ended on such a lame note. Ha, yeah, there's such an awesome variety of original shows being produced by streaming services like Netflix and Hulu now that they've definitely eclipsed regular "TV shows" for me. The convenience of being able to progress through the season at your own pace (when they release it all at the same time) is a really nice perk too (instead of having to wait until every Tuesday at 7:00pm or whatever.)

The official "Til I'm Done" video just dropped on Friday, so maybe that can at least help it re-enter (and re-peak) on the next UK chart...? I'm not too encouraged by the fact that it has less than 200k views so far, though :-? Even poor flop "Guilty" has over 1.7 million...

Let's see how her first full-length album will be… I just hope it will be out soon. Now seems to be a perfect time with "Let Me Go" being a little hit in some countries and "Capital Letters" becoming quite a hit as well due to the 'Fifty Shades Freed' movie.
Yeah, it definitely should/needs to happen sometime this year (preferably by summertime.) I wouldn't be too shocked (or disappointed) if they sweep "Most Girls" under the rug (maybe a deluxe edition bonus track at best), but they can treat "Let Me Go" as the lead single and then drop one more shortly before the album...

Yeah. On one hand, I'd love to see some belated justice for "Last Dance"...but I also feel like she shouldn't wait too much longer to start moving onto her next era, so making "IDGAF" the last single from her debut might be for the best (then hit us with something brand-new in the fall, perhaps...?)

Also, we already tried to attend Ariana's concert, and Gaga's concert already got postponed once, so three tries and all of them failed, it looks like something doesn't want me to attend a concert with my partner

My next concert may be Evanescence or Imagine Dragons, but I'll probably go alone to Evanescence and already asked my Mom for the ID one… if I would have known about that earlier, I would have wanted to go with my partner sooo bad
That was going to be your first Gaga concert ever too? Damn. That really does make it especially tragic. It really sucks that your concert dates with your partner in particular keep getting blocked :x You just wanna start making some magical musical memories with your man!

Maybe I'll be over it in two weeks, but right now I don't see that.

I just went to check after seeing your question, and I didn't realize that all of his Paulboard entries (as the lead artist) have gone Top 10:

                          "Clarity" = No. 1 peak | 11 weeks total | [P]
                          "Spectrum" = No. 4 | 8 wks | [P]
                          "Stay The Night" = No. 8 | 7 wks | [P]

I only picked up the first 20/20 Experience - and (like all of his albums, really), I keep getting lured in by enjoyable singles (and the general hype around him as an artist), only to be pretty underwhelmed by most/all of the rest of the material The only non-single on the first 20/20 Experience that really stood out to me was "Blue Ocean Floor."

                          • In just 3 weeks, "My Way" manages to do what mega-smash "Again" never quite could! That screenshot you used inspired me to check out the video, which is pretty fabulous! It's "simple" in a way, but the fantastic colors, special effects, and choreography make it a much more entertaining viewing experience than some videos that had much bigger budgets/elaborate stories/etc.
I did NOT expect Hailee to jump "up baby, up" to her highest peak EVER! If this achievement doesn't inspire her to finally drop a proper album, idk what will...
                          • Lovin' that little rebound for "Never Be The Same"! That re-ignites my hope that it could end up with an even better run than "Crying In The Club." ;)
                          • Rachel finally clutching that beautiful, shimmering Platinum cert!
                          • I'd forgotten that "For You" tumbled out in just three weeks during its initial run I'm not too bothered, though, since you clearly made the right call when it comes to the superior Fifty Shades Freed single! ;)

                              Anyway, liäbi Grüsse us Pole
                              Hey prz, how are you?

Wow, that's amazing news for both, Dabu Fantastic and I Quattro. I'm not that much into both of them, though Dabu Fantastic already had a few nicer songs. But yes, there are no Swiss entries at the moment, but i have to admit i'm usually not the biggest fan of them by myself and there hasn't been a great song from a Swiss artist lately IMO.
Glad you highlight "Feuer" by Faun, love the instrumental parts a lot there

                              Greetings from Switzerland

Aw Bummer that the first Star Trek season to ever really hook you ended on such a lame note. Ha, yeah, there's such an awesome variety of original shows being produced by streaming services like Netflix and Hulu now that they've definitely eclipsed regular "TV shows" for me. Oh, it got the same release date? Somehow i completely forgot about that, and i think i also didn't think about this back when it got released, because i only got Red and not the other one, which would have been cooler after all... :-? :x

Don't get me wrong, i still enjoyed the season finale, it was just not as strong as i was hoping for, especially after having 3 brilliant episodes just before the finale...
Yeah i agree there, they're doing an amazing job creating new TV series. I've heard of Hulu but i guess it's US only iirc. Netflix is the only thing i use so far, but this may change someday as there's a lot out there at the moment and it's definitely the future when it comes to watching TV. Speaking about TV series, are you watching RuPaul's Drag Race?
What i also love is that even if not the whole season is out at once (like Star Trek, where every episode got released each week), you are still able to watch it whenever you want, and don't have to sit in front of the TV at the exact time when it would air.

Fingers crossed for that! I haven't followed the charts at all lately so i have no idea if the video helped. If not, then i still hope she continues to promote the song, as i think it could do really well. The general public just needs to know it exists. Oh, okay... this doesn't sound too promising

That would make sense, but including "Most Girls" would be a good choice too as it did quite well in Australia and the US iirc (well, for her standards at least). I'm sure she announces it soon, as another pop girl i'm currently rooting for also finally announced her debut album (Anne-Marie), and it will include a song from 2016! Zara Larsson or Dua Lipa also did the same, so i can see that with Hailee too.
It'll be interesting to see how they treat "Capital Letters", as it's more like a soundtrack single and not really 'hers', if you get what i mean.

Hm okay. Well, you didn't miss a thing with the second "20/20 Experience" album IMO. Well, maybe when there are no other albums to add to your library, "Man Of The Woods" would be a nice choice and also good enough to give it a chance.

I already took a short look on your charts (i actually do so every week - only a comment is missing, i know... ) ... and i'm SOOO happy to see her success there! That's also how my YEC is built in the end. So following my charts may already make it quite easy to predict some YEC positions. I already thought about including plays (for example one play is one point), though that would be quite unfair for older songs plus i played A LOT in 2013 so a few songs have hundreds of plays that i don't like that much compared to a few songs with less than hundred points i adore, so it also wouldn't make sense to me...

So... you say 'I'd do my Year-End Countdowns' ... so this means you also didn't do one just for you? Or did you do that for 2017?

I did NOT expect Hailee to jump "up baby, up" to her highest peak EVER! If this achievement doesn't inspire her to finally drop a proper album, idk what will...
                                • Lovin' that little rebound for "Never Be The Same"! That re-ignites my hope that it could end up with an even better run than "Crying In The Club." ;)
                                • Rachel finally clutching that beautiful, shimmering Platinum cert!
                                • I'd forgotten that "For You" tumbled out in just three weeks during its initial run I'm not too bothered, though, since you clearly made the right call when it comes to the superior Fifty Shades Freed single! ;)

Yet another chart that makes me wanna do it your way, Tansike!
Haha... yeah, it did it! I was so obsessed with "My Way" during that week though so it was even a quite easy number one for One Bit and Noah Cyrus. Though i don't think it will show nearly as much longevity as "Again" did. Oh, glad to hear that screenshot made you interested in the video, and i have to agree - i love how colorful it is! I saw a comment there saying it's like a mix of Sia stuff and Alice In Wonderland, which fits very well as a description.

Fingers crossed! "Capital Letters" is definitely another bop from her Shame on me for not appreciating it at first!

We'll see. I'm not too sure about that to be honest, also, there are TONS of new entries this week so the competition is really big right now.

Yes, she did it Well deserved IMO! Now she onkly needs to release "Collide" to get another smash... btw, speaking of "Collide", i only discovered this week that she performed it on James Corden's show last month and Billboard even said it's a single, plus it shortly appeared as a single on Wikipedia (though that one got removed now). So... i'm not sure if i should let it onto my chart now or not. A shame on me for not checking it out when it got released as a promotional single... :x

Glad you're not too bothered about the performance of "For You". I loved Rita's last singles but this is quite weak compared to these, plus Liam adds absolutely nothing to the track. Should have been just Rita with an edgier production. I think it's quite sad how this track just ruined an amazing run for Rita...

                                Thanks a lot

                                  week 08/2018 – 22 february 2018 By The Way, we're just Friends

                                  • Singles Top40

With an incredible 11 new entries and one re-entry, this week has been the busiest by far of 2018, and also in a very long time before that year. All these entries obviously brought lots of changes to the Singles Top40, though none of them made a too big impression, so the highest new arrival barely made it to the Top10, with the re-entry being slightly higher...

...but there's still a new number one, and that's "Friends" by Marshmello and Anne-Marie, which climbs 5-1 following its arrival a week ago. This rises the number one ratio of Marshmello to 100%, as his only other chart entry - "Wolves" with Selena Gomez - also made it to the top. As for Anne-Marie, "Friends" becomes her very first number one hit ever on my charts, which is a perfect timing, as she just announced her debut album "Speak Your Mind" which will be released in two months. Her previous highest peaking tracks were "Rockabye" with Clean Bandit and "Ciao Adios", both #3 hits. Last weeks chart topper "My Way" by One Bit and Noah Cyrus drops 1-3, also making room for Saara Aalto's possible ESC entry "Monsters" which jumps 9-2.

As mentioned, the re-entry is even higher than all new entries, and the track that's making a great comeback is "The Joke" by Brandi Carlile. The song re-enters the chart at #5, which immediately means "The Joke" becomes Brandi's highest peaking single ever, surpassing the #6 peak of "That Wasn't Me" from 2012.

Now on to the new entries. Romanian dance pop queen Inna is back with yet another new release, and despite having released her new album only in December 2017, it's already a completely new track. It's called "Me Gusta" and starts at #9. This is far from a bad debut position, but still her lowest peaking track to date together with "Rendez Vous" (2016). There are no other new arrivals in the Top10, but a further five in the Top20. Saara Aalto already gets her second notation with "Domino" at #13, followed by "Heaven" by Julia Michaels which debuts at #14 as the third entry from the 'Fifty Shades Freed' soundtrack. Australian superstar Delta Goodrem's new single "Think About You" enters the charts at #16, with "Mad Love" by Sean Paul, David Guetta and Becky G being new at #17. The last new entry in the upper half is "You Owe Me", the latest release by The Chainsmokers. "You Owe Me" is just their fourth Top20 notation, following "Closer" featuring Halsey (#18), "Don't Let Me Down" featuring Daya (#3) and "Paris" (#19).

From all eleven new entries, five made the lower half of the charts. Muse' new single "Thought Contagion" makes it to #28, Måns Zelmerlöw - the Swedish ESC winner from 2016 - makes a rather surprising entry with "Happyland" at #32, followed by "Love Lies" by Khalid and Fifth Harmony member Normani. Niall Horan's "On The Loose" starts at #38 as the fourth single of his solo debut album and "Under" singer Alex Hepburn returns to the charts after five years with "I Believe" (#40).

The rest of the best: Hailee Steinfeld & BloodPop slip 3-4 with "Capital Letters", Halsey's "Sorry" is down 2-6, Noah Cyrus & MØ's "We Are..." drops 4-7, Nina Kraljic's "Lay You Down" dips 7-8 and Zedd, Maren Morris & Grey's "The Middle" closes the Top10 (8-10).

After an amazing six week chartrun in the Top10, Leaves' Eyes' first chart entry ever leaves that part for its first time (6-11), though "Across The Sea" gets certified with Gold this week as the first song released this year to do so. Emmelie de Forest's "History" also drops out of the Top10, but with a surprisingly small drop (10-12). Her other chart entry "Sanctuary" also only shows a small decline compared to last week (18-21). Due to all new entries, it's no surprise at all to see many more bigger drops, with the biggest ones going to "Night 13" by Auri (12-23), "Savior" by Iggy Azalea (11-25), "It's A Shame" by First Aid Kit (17-27), "Never Be The Same" by Camila Cabello (19-29), "Strangers" by Sigrid (16-30), "Dead" by Madison Beer (20-36) and the complete drop off the chart for Bruno Mars' "Finesse" (ex #23), Kylie's "Dancing" (ex #26) and Lady Gaga's "Joanne" (ex #27). Last but not least, it's also worth a mention that "Home" by Machine Gun Kelly, X Ambassadors and Bebe Rexha goes Gold this week (29-34).

Saara Aalto owns the biggest climber of the week with "Monsters" while Madison Beer's "Dead" is the biggest loser.

                                  • Album Top20

It's a busier-than-usual week for this time of the year, as four new arrivals made the charts this week, all of them being by names who already scored hits or successful albums on my charts in previous years. The highest of these new entries left the competition way behind though, and that's Brandi Carlile with her new album "By The Way, I Forgive You". The set starts at #1, making it her second chart topper following her previous album "The Firewatcher's Daughter" from 2015, which also just made it back to the Top20 this week at #20. "By The Way, I Forgive You" got over 100 plays in its first week, which is quite massive as i took a week off from many things and so the plays overall were really low and on some days even non existent.

The second highest arrival was a surprise release by former Disney girl Ashley Tisdale. Following the success of her 'Music Sessions' on her YouTube Channel, the actress and singer decided to release the "Music Sessions, Vol. 1" EP on Saturday, which makes it to #2 this week. It's her first album or EP release since my album charts started back in 2010, though it's her third entry so far as her two studio albums "Headstrong" (released in 2007) and "Guilty Pleasure" (released in 2009) already made short appearances in 2013. Singles-wise it's a completely different story, as she already collected eight chart entries, with all of them making the Top3 and six of them even to the top. With "Suddenly", Ashley even owns the most successful song of all time when it comes to my charts, as the ballad spent 69 weeks on the charts back in 2008 and 2009, when there was just a weekly Top10.

Back to this weeks Album Top20. The other two new entries were "XV - Best Of" by German Pagan-Folk band Faun (#4) and "I" by German DJ/Producer Felix Jaehn (#7). The latter is Felix' debut album, but he already made a big impression on the singles charts with "Ain't Nobody (Loves Me Better)" featuring Jasmine Thompson back in 2015, while Faun's last album "Midgard" got certified with Gold.

The rest of the Top10: The Dark Element's self-titled album drops 1-3, Emmelie de Forest's "History" is down 2-5, followed by "Sign Of The Dragonhead" by Leaves' Eyes (3-6). When it comes to charts positions, this may not be the best week for Leaves' Eyes, but not only their single "Across The Sea", but also their album goes Gold this week, still making it a great week for the band. "Waves" by Rachel Platten (5-8), "Ruins" by First Aid Kit (6-9) and the soundtrack for 'Fifty Shades Freed' (4-10) make the Top10 complete.

Justin Timberlake's "Man Of The Woods" (8-11), Halsey's "hopeless fountain kingdom" (9-12), Anette Olzon's "Shine" (10-13) and Madison Beer's "As She Pleases" (7-14) all leave the upper half.

Not a bad song by any means. I've also enjoyed that storyline MV. At least some minor commercial success for him as well

Yes, i have to admit i already liked this when his album came out back in 2016, so i'm surprised it's a single just now and even becomes a 'hit' in Germany

Maybe Yellow could be the game that really gets you back into playing Pokémon again...? ;) #nostalgiapower

I had no idea that Hulu was US-only - but you're totally right! You're not missing out on much, though. The only Hulu original show that I really got into was Difficult People - and they just cancelled it after three seasons I've only seen an episode or two of Drag Race that a friend showed me a while ago. Are you a pretty avid follower? Is there a season going on right now? Would you (or your man) ever audition...?

If not, then i still hope she continues to promote the song, as i think it could do really well. The general public just needs to know it exists. Oh, okay... this doesn't sound too promising
No re-entry following the video release So its UK chart run is just *95* - OUT. Hopefully her Sigala collaboration will fare better...

Yeah, "Most Girls" wasn't a TOTAL flop (Top 20 in Australia, Top 40 in the UK, etc.), I've just never been a big fan of the song, so I'd rather get as many new (and potentially better) tracks as possible on this upcoming album At first I thought "Probably not" about "Capital Letters" being on it...but "Love Me Like You Do" did end up on Delirium, so maybe it just depends on how well it does?

She really doesn't understand just how much she missed out on (and the pain she caused...)

Nah - I don't include featured appearances in an artist's overall hit tally. "Featuring" just gets used SO broadly: sometimes the song's a proper duet between both artists, sometimes the featured guest only appears for 15-20 seconds, sometimes the featured guest only provides background vocals, sometimes the feature is just the producer who doesn't actually contribute any vocals at all, etc. In most of those cases, I don't think the featured guest deserves equal credit/success (if the producer gets mentioned, why not the writers too? The song wouldn't exist without them either.) I guess I could decide on a case-by-case/song-by-song basis, but for now I just have the consistent rule of only crediting the lead act for chart histories.

I saw a comment there saying it's like a mix of Sia stuff and Alice In Wonderland, which fits very well as a description.

                                              • I'm definitely enjoying the turnover on top lately! Now that I think about it, a song hasn't spent more than three weeks at No. 1 here since..."Symphony"?
                                              • I love that line in "Heaven" about how "they say 'all good boys go to heaven', but bad boys bring heaven to you." Overall, though, I've actually been more drawn to her other offering on the Fifty Shades Freed soundtrack: "Are You."
                                              • I don't follow Delta too closely (she's had a couple big Paulboard hits over the years with "Sitting On Top Of The World" and "Heart Hypnotic", but I've never checked out any of her albums.) "Think About You" is making a VERY strong first impression, though! I'll definitely be adding this one to my library ASAP...
                                              • I was SHOCKED to see something other than "Seeing Blind" get selected as Niall's next single! I like "On The Loose" well enough, but "Seeing Blind" seemed like the beyond-obvious choice! It's one of (if not THE) catchiest song on the album, it's the only feature on the album, AND they're touring together!

                                              Yet another welcoming chart, Tansike!

I’m not really sure about that! But yeah, there’s also a nostalgia factor around that one and I love how you’re able to get all starter Pokémon there.

I think it’s possible to get Hulu here as well, though not really legally… but glad to hear I’m not missing out too much. Unfortunately, there are only three seasons of ‘Drag Race’ available over here, and that are seasons 7 to 9. I’ve seen all of them at least two times and yesterday I re-started with season 7 again. It’s hard to rank them, but seasons 7 and 9 are better than eight. It’s definitely a very fun show to watch!
As for your other question, I’m not into doing this at all, but my man would like to try it out one day, simply because he thinks doing make-up etc. is very interesting.

Ouch! I hope so as well… anyways, at least she’s doing more than fine on the album charts, and that’s what matters for artists and labels in the end.

Agree with you there, “Most Girls” was a fun pop song but not as good as “Starving”, “Capital Letters” or “Let Me Go” for example. I wouldn’t mind CL to be on the album since it’s such a good pop song

I know …okay, to be fair, it’s not really her fault and I’m obviously sorry for her to be in a bad shape at the moment.

Hmm. I think I get your point, but as you’ve probably seen, I include these featurings to all artists discographies. Sometimes this can do a lot for some artists discographies, for example Nicki Minaj, or also Beyoncé, who is far from being a hit maker on my charts yet she has Gaga’s “Telephone” in her Discography.

Yes, everything is ok (apart from me pissing off some people because they have to wait days or even weeks until they get a reply from me on WhatsApp, Facebook & Co.). There’s just a lot of things happening right now and I barely have time just for me. Yesterday I even ‘dumped’ by man as I finally wanted some time for me, and usually Tuesday afternoon is our afternoon. Also, a week ago, I went to a short trip from Sunday to Wednesday and I barely visited UKMix & Co. and it actually felt so good

Yes, you’re right! It’s actually a very rare feat to get more than two weeks on top these past years. I just looked it up (also because I was interested in this by myself as well) and it even happens less often than I thought it would. Here are the songs with 3+ weeks in the last few years:

                                                [spoiler:2vy7xrh6]2018:

“Wrecking Ball” by Miley Cyrus spent 1 week at #1 in 2014 and 8 weeks in 2013

                                                2013:
“Slow Down” by Selena Gomez (4 weeks)

“I Knew You Were Trouble.” by Taylor Swift spent 3 weeks at #1 in 2013 and 2 weeks in 2012
“The Lucky Ones” by Kerli spent 1 week at #1 in 2013 and 2 weeks in 2012[/spoiler:2vy7xrh6]

So 18 songs with more than just two weeks atop the charts in a bit more than five years…
(sorry for going so much into this topic now, but as I said, I was very interested in this by myself so i thought I’d post everything like this… )

VERY happy you mention that line of “Heaven” as I love it as well! “Are You” is another nice tune but I think “Heaven” is definitely the stronger of these two, plus they’re also pushing it as a single so that’s why it’s charting.

Glad you enjoyed Delta’s new song. I only checked her out when she released her last album “Wings Of The Wild”, which was quite strong and therefor I checked her earlier albums out as well and somehow I was kinda sad how I never discovered her earlier. Excited to see if “Think About You” will be able to enter your charts

Hmm… I’m not that shocked tbh. Okay, “Seeing Blind” was such an obvious choice to me, but “On The Loose” also screamed single to me and so I’m not that surprised they’re releasing it. However, as you say, there were so many things speaking for a release of “Seeing Blind” and here’s hope they will release it after “On The Loose”. Maybe they were afraid that it would bomb because Maren already has a hit with “The Middle” now?

Also, I see you’re quoting Saara Aalto’s “Monster”, which you didn’t quote when it debuted a week ago, so I guess you checked it out and enjoyed it?

                                                Thanks so much
