Nice to see Lena sticking around in the top 10 though, and Carly staying (at least) the same number of weeks in the top 30 as she did on my chart (with a similar peak as well).

There are quite a few songs I haven't checked out, but most of them are by artists that flopped for me before so I'm not sure I'll bother listening to them. I did check out the #1 and #3 but didn't like them. Why is K€sha famous again? Never liked anything she released (although lots I didn't check out). Demi has been a bit hit and miss and this song definitely belongs to the later category.
Why 'unfortunately'? I think that's quite a few, and from what i remember there were already weeks when you liked even less While i like "Life's About To Get Good", i still agree with you as i expected a much better song from her. I'm still very excited that she's finally releasing a new album again after all these years. Do you plan to check the album out as well?
Lena... well, i'm currently getting over "Daughter" a bit so she'll have a not-so-nice drop this week...

Aww sad to hear this, especially about "Praying", since it's different from her usual stuff. Well, she's started as songwriter, and somehow got that record contract As for Demi, many people seem to dislike it, but it's still surprisingly successful in the US right now. Maybe it's a grower for many, including you? I think it's nice, but far from her best...

Haha yeah more or less. But that's normal i guess. These 'negative' feelings are nothing too bad if one would look at them from a neutral position...

True! But if it would, it could become boring as well, don't you think so?

He's straight. Yeah it really does, which is adorable on one side, weird on another. But i'm okay with it. The only problem i have is that i want to spend more time with him than i can, so i'm not always in the best mood when he says he wants to spend more time with his best friend cause they are already spending lots of time together. But i should be fine with it, i mean i knew it from the beginning, and they're really sweet with each other. Who wouldn't want a best friend like this? Well in the first week they're doing a surprising appearance on a wedding from one of their friends, the other two weeks they will visit the family of my partner (as he's half Filipino).

Aw, I really like "Birthday", and I think it made sense as a follow-up to "Dark Horse" at the time...but after that under-performed, I have NO idea why they went with the equally-silly-but-way-less-catchy "This Is How We Do" instead of something like WOA or LL.

I hope you can get around to it sometime, but yeah, with so many brand-new albums to always be checking, it's even harder to make time for older ones like that now.
Ok good to know, so I won’t spend time to search it or so. I usually really dislike these Target releases as it’s hard to find the songs online

Funny I’d prefer “This Is How We Do” over “Birthday” which would be my least favorite single ever by her. But yeah, these two really deserved a single treatment.

True. And if I would have time to check something old out, I usually what to listen to other older albums I’m already familiar with, as I don’t do that too often… (like currently I’m having a Selena Gomez (& The Scene) phase)…

I've never been a massive fan of bars either (and I was already in my current relationship when I turned 21, so I've never experienced the bar/club scene while single.) I generally prefer clubs, since I usually want to dance when I'm drinking, and bars are often so loud that it's impossible to just have a conversation anyway.

I try ;) It's a lot like what you described about yourself: I've become increasingly negative, irritable, bitter over the recent years. That's not to say I'm always yelling at everybody, but I'm definitely more quick to anger than I remember being, and I'm almost always complaining/ranting about something trivial in my head (like something someone posted online, or having to dodge a cyclist while I'm walking on the sidewalk, etc) I'm way too much of a grumpy old man for 28 (or any age, really.)

Ooh...already getting close with his family, eh? It makes sense that reading and writing would be easier than having a conversation. You can take as much time as you want with reading/writing, and there's no tricky accents to worry about understanding. I took Spanish classes throughout high school, and although I've lost most of it by now, I have a much better chance of translating something I'm reading than understanding something spoken in real time (especially with the accents that native speakers often have.)
Thank you! And yes, that’s probably the case. Oh well dancing while drinking sounds fun, my main problem there is that I’m just way too shy to do that when there are many people around me

Really? But then I could ask the same question like you’ve asked me: You’re more like your true self on UKMIX then?! Because I’ve never had the felling you’re negative or so on here, not at all. Then I hope you can change that somehow. It’s most likely just a phase, and things like these can depend on other things as well, like having stress at the job or so.

yes. He already met my dad as well, we’re kinda fast. But we were fast with everything so it’s okay, I guess That’s so true! Like, it actually happens quite a lot that I don’t know a word while writing something on UKMIX, so I can google translate it (or take another translator) and no one knows that I wouldn’t know that word. When I have to talk and I don’t know a word, I have to find another one or try to describe what I want to say. Oh wow, Spanish is a cool language! Are there other languages you’re speaking?

Hmmm...I'm a bit nervous about guessing wrong now Looking at their positions at very start of the video: my first guess would be the guy in the top-left (with the hat.) Second guess would be the guy next to that one, in the middle (with the necklace.) Whichever one you've snagged, they all sound great! ;)
Haha well that's not the problem, the spontaneous schedule it is. Especially because i'm a person who needs to plan stuff like weeks before they happen But hey, that's a great mixture so far. I'm happy when i'm more spontaneous, while he's happy to get more things planned.

It's the other guy with the hat, who sings the chorus (probably obvious now that i mentioned he's half Filipino above...)

I haven't seen that performance, so I'll definitely have to give it a look!

What are your thoughts on the "Versace" remix VS the original?
I know Just made a comment on your charts yesterday... so i think i'm fine with the video if it's helping that much. Here's the performance, if you'd like to watch it. I also liked the SNL performance to be honest...

Oh, i haven't heard the remix yet...

I'm surprised by some of her previous chart-toppers (mostly because most of my favorites apparently missed out) How did "Your Love Is My Drug", "Take It Off", and "C'Mon" do here?
      • I was curious/excited for new Demi, but the "Sorry Not Sorry" chorus really isn't clicking with me. I can't pinpoint exactly why, but something about the way she sings it comes off more grating than catchy. It might have something to do with the sort-of-soul-sound she was going for...
      • On the other end of the spectrum, I've been COMPLETELY hooked on "New Rules" after checking out the video last week! The video is so vibrant and cleverly choreographed (not to mention how gorgeous Dua looks.) The song totally holds its own even without the video, though!
      • Speaking of videos, did Helene ever drop one for "Herzbeben"?
      • Awesome to see "Want You Back" make an appearance!

      Yet another divine chart, Tansike!
Yes! Very glad to hear you like “Praying“ and i agree about it being a perfect comeback for her. What do you think about the follow-up, “Woman”? It’s more like her old sound so you may like it… as for the songs you’ve mentioned, “Your Love Is My Drug” peaked at #5 with just 4 weeks on the chart, “Take It Off” peaked at #4 but with 16 weeks on the chart (her second biggest hit on my charts going by points!) while I never really liked “C’mon”… it still was able to debut at #3 but it left the chart after just 5 weeks.

Aww. Demi used to score quite a few hits on your charts, didn’t she? So I hope “Sorry Not Sorry” will grow on you. I liked it more than I thought I would, but it’s definitely not one of her best ones yet…

Haven’t seen the video for “New Rules” yet, but the song was such an obvious single choice. Glad it seems to become a hit for Dua, and glad you like it

      No she didn’t

Nice you like its appearance, though it will be a short one…

      Thanks a lot!
And, looking back at it, I didn’t realize how much I was talking about my new partner, so sorry for that

        week 29/2017 – 20 july 2017 Fetish for a Woman’s Body

        • Singles Top40

In a week with a meager four new arrivals in the whole Top40, it’s quite impressive to see three of them making the Top3. It’s also interesting to see all of them having a song title with just one word, which now means the whole Top7 is full of songs with one single word as song titles.

The one who left the competition behind was obviously Selena Gomez. The singer has released “Fetish” as a new single, the follow-up to “Bad Liar”, and she immediately gets her 12th top hit out of 22 chart entries in total, including her collaborations with Zedd, Charlie Puth, Cashmere Cat and Kygo. Selena now has as many top hits as Lana Del Rey, Miley Cyrus and Tarja, who all are the artists with the third most number ones in their discographies, behind Kerli with 14 #1s and Lady GaGa with 15 #1s. “Fetish” also pushes “Bad Liar”, which continues to have a weird chartrun by climbing 20-10 and also goes Gold this week. Also impressive is the fact that “Fetish” got an incredible 118 plays as of yesterday, which is the second biggest start for a song during 2017 so far. Selena’s closest rival this week just scored a top hit only a week ago as well, as it’s Kesha who already has released the follow-up to “Praying”. The track is called “Woman” and debuts at #2. Last but not least, Loreen fills out the complete new Top3. The Swedish ESC queen from 2012 is back with a song called “Body”, and collects her ninth Top40 entry with it. The singer will finally release her long-awaited new album or EP soon which will be called “Nude”, as the follow-up to “Heal”, which spent an incredible 58 weeks on my album charts back in 2012/2013.

So there’s just one more new entry on the whole charts, and that’s “Don’t Let Me Be Yours” by Zara Larsson, which debuts at #13. “Galway Girl” by Ed Sheeran is the only re-entry, coming back at #32.

Kesha’s “Praying” drops 1-4, followed by Clean Bandit and Marina And The Diamonds’ “Disconnect” (2-5). Katy is decreasing from three Top10 hits to one, as “Bon Appétit” (8-14) and “Swish Swish” (9-16) both leave that part, while her collaboration with Calvin Harris, Pharrell Williams and Big Sean on “Feels” remains strong (4-6). Demi still has two Top10 entries with “Instruction” by Jax Jones (5-7) and her own “Sorry Not Sorry”, which has a better second week than expected (3-8). Last but not least, Tarja has the last Top10 entry with “An Empty Dream” (6-9).

Zedd’s “Stay” may just leave the Top10 (7-12), but he nearly got another one as “Get Low” with Liam Payne is up 12-11. After a good start, Lena has been falling more and more with “If I Wasn’t Your Daughter”, so it’s probably not the biggest surprise to see the track dropping 10-19 now. Apart from all that, there’s not that much going on in the lower half of the charts, which is typical for summer.

Selena Gomez’ “Bad Liar” is the biggest climber while Calvin Harris’ “Heatstroke” drops 29-40 as the biggest loser this week.

        • Album Top20

It’s still summer, so it may be no surprise to see just a single new release making the album charts, which results in a quite boring and very stagnant Top20 this week. Halsey spends a sixth week atop the charts with “hopeless fountain kingdom”, now having the longest running number one album since Nightwish spent ten weeks at number one with “Endless Forms Most Beautiful” during 2015. Imagine Dragons are the unlucky ones, as their “Evolve” remains at #2 for the fourth week in a row, with Coldplay’s “Kaleidoscope” filling out the Top3 as the only debut of the week.

Apart from that, the Top10 has nothing new to offer. Katy Perry’s “Witness” (3-4) and ZZ Ward’s “The Storm” (4-5) both slip one spot each, with the first one going Gold this week. Lorde’s “Melodrama” goes up 7-6, followed by Calvin Harris’ “Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1” (5-7). And while “All Is Vanity” by Christina Grimmie remains at #8, Anette Olzon’s “Shine” (10-9) and Seven Lions’ “Where I Won’t Be Found” (9-10) switch places with each other.

HAIM’s “Something To Tell You” already leaves the upper half after its debut a week ago, as the set falls 6-11. While Zara Larsson and Ed Sheeran are both back in having an entry on the Singles Top40, their albums remain incredibly stable just outside the Top10, with Zara’s “So Good” holding at #12 and Ed’s “÷” going up 14-13. Following the hype of new single “Fetish”, Selena Gomez returns to the album charts with “Revival” (#15). Next week will see the arrival of Lana Del Rey’s new studio album “Lust For Life”, which could be a big competitor for Halsey’s “hopeless fountain kingdom”.

It's not an "instant classic", but it has that something that makes it exciting.

Glad you're taking it all in stride! Being able to take a step back and look at things neutrally can be a real challenge, especially when emotions are involved (perhaps even love...?)

Ha, you might have a point there. On one hand, I don't have much patience for most "drama"...but things do get stale if people are always agreeable, passive. I guess the goal is to keep a little spice without letting it turn into strife.

I think I hear you. There's no fear of cheating, since this guy is definitely straight - you're just tired of having to share your man so much It does sound like a really deep, beautiful friendship...but it still sucks to feel like a 3rd wheel (especially when you're his actual romantic partner!)

True. And if I would have time to check something old out, I usually what to listen to other older albums I’m already familiar with, as I don’t do that too often… (like currently I’m having a Selena Gomez (& The Scene) phase)…
Ever? EVER? Worse than "Ur So Gay"? I can't remember how "Rise" did on your chart...

I feel you there. I've been doing that with Kylie this week (especially her Kiss Me Once album.) I usually try not to get too hung up on the idea of certain songs fitting a certain season, but there's something quite summery about a lot of Kylie's catalog. A lot of perfect pool-lounging tunes.

Just sounds like you haven't had enough to drink, then ;) Or maybe they're just not playing the right music...

Thanks. I'm glad to hear I don't come across that way Although I won't lie/pretend if I really don't like a song, I think a place like UKMIX is more fun when you focus on the stuff you DO like (and have in common with others) than trolling the stuff you don't like.

I took one semester of Japanese in college, but I've forgotten about 90% of that (and I wasn't very good at it even back then.) I just know a handful of words/phrases from watching (undubbed) anime.

Aw! So basically, you're already helping each other grow into even better/balanced people? I definitely prefer preparation too, though. Not a big fan of people just dropping by unannounced or changing plans at the last minute.

Ooh...I'm pleasantly surprised by those live vocals during the verses! Granted, I haven't seen many of Katy's performances, but I didn't think she had a particularly strong reputation for her live singing. Ah, so "Take It Off" had one of her best runs despite never reaching the top. That's some pretty good consolation! Poor "C'Mon", though I really love that one! Easily my favorite Warrior single.

Yup! She's scored seven Top 10's so far. Her highest-peakers have been "Give Your Heart A Break" and "Body Say" at No. 2, while her longest-lasting hit has been "Really Don't Care" (No. 5 peak, 13 weeks.) I only count the lead acts when it comes to hit tallies, but she was featured on the chart-topping "No Promises" earlier this year.

                    • I'm probably in a VERY small minority (or maybe even the only one), but I'm not feeling "Fetish" as much as "Bad Liar" so far I like it enough to keep coming back to it, though, so there's still a chance it could really click with me (and I definitely prefer it to "Sorry Not Sorry", at least...)
                    • Ooh...I'm lovin' the diversity that Kesha's serving up between "Prayer" and now "Woman." Definitely has me even more excited for what's in store on Rainbow!
"If I Wasn't Your Daugher" is falling pretty fast for a multi-week-No. 1, yeah?

                    • For some reason, "Fetish" has really connected with me. I've even go as far as to say it's my second favourite single from Selena since she left the Scene (my favourite being "Kill Em with Kindness").

"Woman" is solid, but I need a few more spins to be truly convinced by it. "Get Low" grew on me around the same time as "Fetish".

That’s definitely true. Well, especially in phases where the emotions are really strong (and messy) I try to think of it from a neutral way. It can help a bit, but it doesn’t all the time.

Oh okay… well, I’m able to be a drama queen… Anyways, I agree, it has to be a middle thing. I knew a pair who never fought with each other, they were always ‘happy’, and they still broke up in the end, which was shocking, but they even said that this may have been the reason…

That’s true. Well, it’s good to say when one doesn’t like a song, but there are some people hating over the same thing over and over again which becomes tiring quite fast…

Ha, whoops Guess I don't know your type as well as I thought Any rate, is there anywhere I could see some pix of you two together? Perhaps you've recorded and uploaded a certain type of video to XTube...?
Yeah I think so, or at least I feel like it may be that way Yeah true.

Haha that’s cool. As I said he’s half Filipino, which is a special coincidence cause my ex partner was full Filipino Not that I’ve searched a certain type of guy, it just happened, and everyone around me is always like ‘wait, someone from the Philippines again?!’ Hahaha… nnn… no to the video There’s just a little picture on my facebook page, which is the only one ‘online’. Do you have facebook?

The dance routine is pretty adorable (especially that crouch-hopping-in-a-circle bit.) Thanks for linking to that!

                        Speaking of linking...
Yes, Katy’s live vocals are often very shaky and not that good. That performance was really good, I also enjoyed the choreo a lot

Thanks for the link. Watched (/listened) to it earlier today and it’s okay. The original sounds better, and it sounds more like a Daft Punk remix than a Guetta remix…

Yes Oh, interesting pick. I always thought it was too basic somehow. It’s not bad of course, but I prefer “Die Young” and “Crazy Kids” a lot more.

I only count the lead acts when it comes to hit tallies, but she was featured on the chart-topping "No Promises" earlier this year.
Okay so yeah, then I hope “Sorry Not Sorry” will grow on you, would be sad if it would become a flop for her…

                        • Ooh...I'm lovin' the diversity that Kesha's serving up between "Prayer" and now "Woman." Definitely has me even more excited for what's in store on Rainbow!
"If I Wasn't Your Daugher" is falling pretty fast for a multi-week-No. 1, yeah?
                        • Since I know you've seen the "New Rules" video now, hopefully it'll help the song reverse course here!

                        Yet another gratifying chart, Tansike!
I already thought that it may be that way since “Fetish” only had a moderate debut on your charts so far, which was a little surprise to me. Also good to hear you prefer that one to Demi’s track… anyways, maybe the video will change it for you? It just came out yesterday and it’s… weird?!

Same! Only two more weeks until the album drops, I’m really excited

Yes definitely, though Clean Bandit’s “Symphony” shared a same fate (first four weeks at #1, only four more weeks in the whole Top40…)

                        It definitely will

                        Thanks a lot

"Woman" is solid, but I need a few more spins to be truly convinced by it. "Get Low" grew on me around the same time as "Fetish".

That's awesome! I wouldn't rank it that high yet, i still prefer some other songs, especially "Same Old Love", though it's fantastic to hear "Kill Em With Kindness" is your favorite as it's also my favorite 'solo' song from Selena

Nice to hear "Get Low" grew on you, it seems a little bit underrated to me. Also i hope "Woman" will click with you, it's a fun tune

                            week 30/2017 – 27 july 2017 Lust for Fetish

                            • Singles Top40

Selena Gomez spends a second week at number one with “Fetish”, easily defending that spot against Kesha, who still has two high charting entries. They are, however, rising and falling a bit, as now it’s “Praying” (4-2) which is above “Woman” (2-3).

It’s a busier week than lately, as seven new arrivals found their way to the Top40, and two re-entries. The highest new entry immediately makes a new career-best for Belgian musician Loïc Nottet, as his new single “Mud Blood” debuts at #5 as his first Top5 hit. It follows “Rhythm Inside” (#6) and “Million Eyes” (#7), giving him his third straight Top10 peak. One place below is something which got released only a very few hours before something tragic happened… Following “Heavy” and “Good Goodbye”, Linkin Park has chosen “Talking To Myself” as the third output from their latest album “One More Light”. Unfortunately, shortly after the video release, it got announced that frontman Chester Bennington has committed suicide, which is probably also a reason for the high debut, as “Talking To Myself” enters the charts at #6 as their second highest peaking single ever, which remains “Castle Of Glass” (#5, 2013).

While “Life’s About To Get Good” is still charting (26-31), country legend Shania Twain has released a second song from her upcoming studio album “Now”, and the track is called “Poor Me”, debuting and peaking a spot higher than “Life’s About To Get Good” did (#12). Scottish singer-songwriter Amy MacDonald also has chosen her next single, and that’s the ballad “Down By The Water”. The song enters the charts at #16, and could end up as her first single to miss the weekly Top10 if it won’t climb any further. Also new in the upper half is “Back To You”, a collaboration between former One Directioner Louis Tomlinson, Bebe Rexha and Digital Farm Animals. While this is the first entry for the former and the latter, Bebe already scored a huge hit earlier this year with “I Got You”. Since this is Louis’ first chart entry, all former band members of One Direction now have made at least one entry on my singles charts. Country singer Maren Morris already scored a Gold certified album with her debut “Hero”, but she has yet to score a hit on the singles charts as well, as both singles didn’t perform that well. This may change now, as she debuts at #25 with the third release “I Could Use A Love Song”, which immediately becomes her highest peaking track so far. Last but not least, Sara Hartman makes the new entries complete as her new single “Dance With A Ghost” arrives at #40.

While her singles didn’t perform as strong as she was used to, a new album release by Lana Del Rey is still a quite big event, and so it’s no surprise to see both, “Love” and “Lust For Life”, making some big re-entries on the singles charts this week following the release of her fourth set “Lust For Life”. The lead track “Love” nearly made it back to the Top10, as it re-enters the charts at #11, while the title track makes its return to #13.

The rest of the best: Loreen’s “Body” dips 3-4, Selena Gomez’ “Bad Liar” rises 10-7, Clean Bandit & Marina And The Diamonds’ “Disconnect” falls 5-8 followed by Calvin Harris & Co.’s “Feels” (6-9). The last Top10 entry belongs to Dua Lipa, who takes a surprising leap with “New Rules” and scores her second Top10 hit so far (22-10).

Due to these new and re-entries, there are some bigger drops on the charts this week. Jax Jones’ “Instruction” (7-15), Demi Lovato’s “Sorry Not Sorry” (8-17) and Tarja’s “An Empty Dream” (9-18) all leave the Top10. Meanwhile, “Lost Girls” by Lindsey Stirling (20-22), “On My Own” by Marina Kaye (15-23), “Bon Appétit” (14-24) and “Swish Swish” (16-29) by Katy Perry, “Don’t Let Me Be Yours” by Zara Larsson (13-26) and “Now Or Never” by Halsey (18-27) all leave the upper half of the charts, with most of them having quite a big loss in positions. Also leaving that part of the charts but with an even bigger drop is Lena’s “If I Wasn’t Your Daughter”. The track may have spent its first three weeks on top and goes Gold this week, it however lacks of longevity now, as it tumbles down 19-34. Its chartrun reminds of the one by Clean Bandit and Zara Larsson’s “Symphony” now, which had a brilliant start too and also lacked longevity (1-1-1-1-5-10-22-37-Out).

Dua Lipa’s “New Rules” is the biggest climber while Lena’s “If I Wasn’t Your Daughter” is the biggest loser this week.

                            • Album Top20

The expected happened and after an incredible chartrun atop the Album Top20, Halsey’s “hopeless fountain kingdom” slips 1-2 in its eighth charting week. New on top is the newest release by Lana Del Rey, called “Lust For Life”, which is her fourth studio album since her breakthrough and fifth chart entry overall. It also becomes her fourth number one album, following her debut “Born To Die”, the EP “Paradise” and the second album “Ultraviolence”. Her third release “Honeymoon” had to settle down for a #2 debut two years ago, but still ended up with a Gold certification. Lana’s most successful release to date remains “Born To Die”, as the set spent an incredible 78 weeks on the album charts, 12 of which were at number one, and is currently certified with 5x Platinum.

Imagine Dragons’ “Evolve” dips 2-3, followed by Lorde’s “Melodrama” which re-peaks this week (6-4). Katy Perry’s “Witness” is down 4-5, Coldplay’s “Kaleidoscope” EP drops 3-6, ZZ Ward’s “The Storm” decreases 5-7 and Anette Olzon’s “Shine” stays at #9. There may be no other new entries on the album charts, there are however two big jumps. One of them is Linkin Park’s “One More Light”, which is back up 16-10 following the tragic news from last week, while the other one is Selena Gomez’ “Revival”. The album climbs 15-8, entering the weekly Top10 for the first time this year, and for a third year in a row, as the album came out nearly two years ago. With 43 weeks it’s already her longest charting album by far, above “When The Sun Goes Down” with 35 weeks. It is however only her fourth most successful release to date, as all three releases with The Scene were more successful when it comes to charts points.

Christina Grimmie’s “All Is Vanity” (8-11), Calvin Harris’ “Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1” (7-12) and Seven Lions’ “Where I Won’t Be Found” (10-15) all leave the Top10, with the biggest drop going to HAIM’s “Something To Tell You” as it tumbles down 11-20. And following the new single “Mud Blood”, Loïc Nottet’s “Selfocracy” is able to do a little re-entry at #19.

                                • ^ glad you like Amy's song. It's nice indeed.

As for Loïc, i think the album has some better tunes, though i really like "Mud Blood" as well. It sounds a bit Sia-ish.

                                  • Hi Tansike

Amazing to see Lana #1 in your album chart (was there ever any doubt? ) and even though i don't buy enough albums to compile my own album chart, Lust for life is my #1 album right now. <3

Let's see what's happening in Tansike chart land:

1 (1) Selena Gomez feat. Gucci Mane – Fetish

Ahh nice to see Fetish maintaining its lead over the competition. Did the music video give the song much of a boost? Ironically it just about managed to keep Selena inside my top 5 for a second week otherwise it might've taken a bit of a sharper drop.

                                    2 (4) Kesha – Praying

Still love Praying so much, i think i will always have admiration for this song. I watched that video posted in the Praying topic showing teens reacting to Kesha's high note. So funny seeing all their shocked but smiling reactions. I can't see how anyone wouldn't be impressed with that high note.

                                    3 (2) Kesha feat. The Dap-Kings Horns – Woman

Poor Kesha, i actually kept going back to listen to Woman quite a bit last week. Then i bought Lust for life and Lana ended up hogging the limelight so whilst Woman got more plays last week, Lana got even more with her album so Kesha ended up dipping slightly.

                                    10 (23) Dua Lipa – New Rules

Another victim of the Lana domination, still loving New rules so much and it looks like it could become Dua's biggest hit, especially here in the UK which is amazing to see.

12 (NEW) Shania Twain – Poor Me

LOL what an apt song title. Poor Shania indeed. Poor me enters at #18 in my chart compared to the #16 peak for Life's about to get good. However, Poor me also got more plays last week. So despite the lower peak, its technically the bigger hit in my chart.

20 (NEW) Louis Tomlinson feat. Bebe Rexha & Digital Farm Animals – Back To You

...at least Shania made my top 20. I quite like Back to you and in any other week this would've managed to scrape into my top 20. Lana's album domination ended up pushing Louis & Bebe out of the top 20.

25 (NEW) Maren Morris – I Could Use A Love Song
40 (NEW) Sara Hartman – Dance With A Ghost

Not heard either of these before so i'm gonna add them to my list of new music to check out during the week.

                                        Hey Jake!

Well, i think there was, because both of the singles underperformed so far (even a lot compared to all of her previous singles), while her last album 'only' went Gold with a #2 peak. However, she really got me again with "Lust For Life", especially the brilliant "13 Beaches", which would have been such an easy #1 on my charts if every song would have been able to enter the Top40...
VERY glad to hear you like it that much as well!

Can't wait to see your thoughts about last/this week...

Yes, it did. Even if it's weird, it's weird in a good way somehow.

...at least Shania made my top 20. I quite like Back to you and in any other week this would've managed to scrape into my top 20. Lana's album domination ended up pushing Louis & Bebe out of the top 20.
...and there's worse This will have a huge drop on my charts tomorrow. It's nice, but i expected something better, especially since i really like both, Louis and Bebe.

Not heard either of these before so i'm gonna add them to my list of new music to check out during the week.
I hope you may like them, especially Maren Morris' song. Sara's song didn't do much for me. She has released way better stuff in the past, especially the song "Satellite"

Kidding aside - yeah, it's one thing to pick a fight or explode over every little thing, but it can be just as bad to keep everything bottled up and never discuss anything that might be painful/uncomfortable. I'm generally on the quieter side, so I'm still working on being less intimidated by serious, honest conversations. On paper, I obviously like the idea of being as open and honest as possible with friends/family/partners...but it's not so easy in practice.

Definitely. That’s what I currently have to learn, as we never discussed a thing in my previous relationship, while it’s the complete opposite now. I enjoy that, but sometimes I still need to get used to it. As for myself, I’m always as open as possible, and I’m also always honest. Okay, there may be things I don’t tell to people, however if people ask me the ‘right’ question, I’d never lie to them. First because I don’t want to lie, and second because as Selena would say, I’m a Bad Liar

Yes. In November/December 2015, so soon it’s been two years. I never used it previously but now I can’t live without having a car Just had another similar situation, as I went to see some of my family on tuesday (1st august is swiss national day, so it was holiday) and everyone drank a glass of wine, and I couldn’t do that cause I had to drive back home afterwards (and that’s over 100 km, so it would have been too risky…).

Oh, just asked about the video on your topic last evening, but here’s already the reply haha. I kinda forgot that I asked about it here as well So you weren’t that impressed by it. I think as weird as it may be, it’s still one of her best ones yet. • I've been randomly revisiting "Your Song" this week (partially due to its continued success on the UK and Australian charts) and I've started to appreciate it a bit more. It'd be nice to see her finally score a proper Hot 100 hit (besides "Black Widow"), but I won't hold my breath...

Yet another chart that has me fixated, Tansike!
“Falling Down” is great though Anyways, I’ve started to get a bit over “Fetish”, and it’s also not doing as well as expected on iTunes & Co., despite its great start with the #1 US iTunes peak. I think I’ll prefer “Bad Liar” in the long run

Glad to hear you like Dua’s new charts position, and I think you’ll be even more pleased with today’s spot

Yeah agree. “Sorry Not Sorry” will have an even bigger drop today, I’m over the song now, which is a shame somehow. It’s Demi after all…

My two favorite album tracks (and probably only behind “Never Forget You” and “Symphony” when including the singles) are ”Only You” and ”One Mississippi”, so I would have picked these as singles. Especially “Only You”. That one already did well in her home country Sweden with a #5 peak and 19 weeks on the charts, which is impressive for an album track.

I hope she’ll score that hit, though I’m over the song a bit now. But it’s cool that she’s still successful in a few countries after all these years…

                                            Thanks a lot

                                              • Singles Top40

In a week with no big new release there’s still a completely new number one, but that one wasn’t expected to debut atop the charts, as it’s more like a random discovery I’ve made by a band I already knew, but never really checked out: Eluveitie. Eluveitie is a folk metal band from Switzerland, who are currently also the most popular artist coming from Switzerland, as their last album “Origin” charted in many other territories such as Germany (#6), Austria (#22), Canada (#60) and even in the UK (#163) and the US (#104, #1 on the heatseeker chart). And while being a folk metal band usually is a big plus for me, they never caught my attention, until now. They will release their new set “Evocation II – Pantheon” in about two weeks, which is promoted as an acoustic album, so not as hard as other work from them, which is also the reason why their new song “Lvgvs” is more a folk pop song rather than a folk metal song. The video was released on friday, with me having discovered it on sunday evening, which was enough for it to get 80 plays as of yesterday evening, easily being the most played tune of the week.

The second highest arrival didn’t even come close to being a contender for the top spot, as it comes in at #13. It’s “Caught In The Middle”, the newest release by Anastacia, and the lead single of her upcoming new album “Evolution”. While the band who has this weeks number one may be ‘hard’ on paper, it gets really hard at #17 with Arch Enemy. The melodic death metal band never scored an entry on both of my charts so far, however their lead vocalist Alissa White-Gluz was featured on “Demons In You” by Tarja, which spent incredible seven consecutive weeks at number one on the singles charts last year. Now the band is back and is about to prepare the release of their first album in three years, called “Will To Power”, with the first single “The World Is Yours” becoming their chart debut at #17. Not new, but back in the Top20 is “Symphony” by Clean Bandit and Zara Larsson. The current longest running number one single of the year makes a surprising return to the charts at #18.

There are also another two new arrivals and one re-entry in the lower half of the charts. Following the release of an acoustic version (including a very rare moment of getting a single cover), “Love’s Just A Feeling” is back at #26 for Lindsey Stirling. The song is still below “Lost Girls”, which holds on well just outside the Top20 (22-21). American singer-songwriter Tori Amos gets her first entry ever with “Cloud Riders” at #30 while Charli XCX owns the last debut of the week as her “Boys” enters the charts at #33.

The Top3 from last week all dip just one position each, which are “Fetish” by Selena Gomez (1-2) and “Praying” (2-3) & “Woman” (3-4) by Kesha. Also quite stable are Loreen’s “Body” (4-6), Loïc Nottet’s “Mud Blood” (5-7), Calvin Harris & Co.’s “Feels” (9-8), Selena Gomez’ “Bad Liar” (7-9) and Clean Bandit & Marina And The Diamonds’ “Disconnect” (8-10). There’s one mover which makes a bit of a bigger jump, and that’s Dua Lipa’s latest single “New Rules”. The song already climbed into the Top10 last week and moves even further now, as it’s up 10-5, becoming her highest peaking single to date.

Country legend Shania Twain has released the video for her single “Life’s About To Get Good”, which gets a small boost through it (31-28). Her other charting song “Poor Me” is about to become her first Top10 hit though, as it’s up 12-11. It switches places with Lana Del Rey, who holds on very well in the second week after the album release, as “Love” (11-12) and “Lust For Life” (13-14) both only slip down one spot. Linkin Park have a bigger drop, as their “Talking To Myself” falls down 6-16. There are some other big decreases in the lower half of the charts, especially “An Empty Dream” by Tarja (18-25), “I Could Use A Love Song” by Maren Morris (25-34), “Sorry Not Sorry” by Demi Lovato (17-36), “Swish Swish” by Katy Perry (29-38), “Back To You” by Louis Tomlinson (20-39) and “Don’t Let Me Be Yours” by Zara Larsson (26-40) fall a lot.

Dua Lipa’s “New Rules” is the biggest climber for a second week in a row while Demi Lovato’s “Sorry Not Sorry” shares the title as the biggest loser of the week with Louis Tomlinsons “Back To You”.

Summer goes on, and unsurprisingly there’s just one debut for yet another week. Lana Del Rey easily defends the top spot with her “Lust For Life”, while Halsey easily sits behind her with “hopeless fountain kingdom”, getting an incredible ninth week in the Top2 now. The only arrival makes the Top3 complete, as it’s the surprise release “The Boy Who Cried Wolf” by Passenger. The singer already scored two entries on the album charts with “Whispers” (#6, 2014) and “Young As The Morning Old As The Sea” (#2, 2016) and following this new release, he will take a break from the music business for some time.

Summer time is a time when old releases may get a surprising push, and as every year lately, Anette Olzon somehow manages to do so for another year, as her “Shine” improves 9-4 – in its 103rd charting week! Selena Gomez’ “Revival” also keeps on climbing, up 8-7 this week. Not that old but still older than most other records in the Top10 is Ed Sheeran’s “÷”, which returns to the upper half as well after quite a while (14-10). The other Top10 entries are “Evolve” by Imagine Dragons (3-5), “Melodrama” by Lorde (4-6), “Witness” by Katy Perry (5-8) and “The Storm” by ZZ Ward (7-9), with the ones by Imagine Dragons and Lorde going Gold this week. This makes “Evolve” the third consecutive certified album by Imagine Dragons, while “Melodrama” is the first certified release ever for Lorde, including the singles.

Coldplay’s “Kaleidoscope” EP (6-13) and Linkin Park’s “One More Light” (10-18) leave the Top10. Meanwhile, Lindsey Stirling is back to having two entries on the singles charts, which also pushes “Brave Enough” a little bit (18-12), which is charting for 50 weeks now. Only two more weeks and the violinist will already score her third album with a year or more spent on the charts. Lana Del Rey gets a second entry as her major label debut “Born To Die” returns to #14 for a 79th week on the album charts.

Managed to have a run of solid 5 days in my chart (which is almost twice the average lifeline of an entry in 2015-2017), a strong song.

As for Eluveitie, yeah, they sample the same traditional like Scooter did. Actually a very old song. Eluveitie do the better job obviously
