The rest are sooo hard… because I love them all I think third gen is above fourth as I love all three in the third gen while I’m not a big fan of Chimchar; similar case with the first Gen and Charmander, however the nostalgia effect there is bigger…… and now that I think about it, third is probably even above second so… based on all these thoughts, it must be:
    3rd > 2nd > 1st > 4th > 7th > 5th > 6th
How would you rank them all?

Ha basically, but not with the stuff you probably have in your mind (at least not in particular ) As for Mario Odyssey, I really wanted to play it however my interest wasn’t big enough so far. My partner already started and it looked very good though. Are you playing it as well?

Yeah, these two moves are really strong and makes Magcargo a great team member for sure That’s good! So you will get one of these (US/US)? I’m not really sure if I buy one of them to be honest, as the original ones didn’t really impress me and despite being a huge fan of Silver, I don’t even play it half as often as I expected so it may be even worse with US/UM
Woah, how did Gen III manage to surpass Gen II after all that praise the other week? Has your experience revisiting Silver been THAT unenjoyable? :x HmMmM...for me, it's basically a tie between Gen I and Gen II for first place. Nostalgia is a big factor, but I also like their designs across all the evolutionary stages more than the other starter groups. Ranking gets tricky in the middle, but Gen IV are an easy pick for last place. The only one I really love is Piplup/Plinfa's line. I'm surprised to see you're not a fan of Chimchar, since I thought you said something about loving monkeys before? Infernape/Panferno is fun to use in playthroughs due to its power and speed, but I've never been into real-world monkeys much, so I'm not drawn to the look of that line. Turtwig/Chelast has its charms, but I'd consider it one of the most forgettable starters ever I do appreciate how Gen IV was the first group that all got secondary types, though, since that helps mix things up a bit when they insist on sticking with the Grass/Fire/Water triangle every single gen.

I watched one of my favorite YouTubers stream Odyssey on Twitch, and my bf bought it, so I've messed around with it a little. I like the exploration/sandbox aspect, which it seems to have more than any previous Super Mario game, but I'm still not into (and not even remotely good enough at) the platforming parts to want to own it myself.

Yeah, if you didn't really enjoy SuMo, USUM don't seem to be different enough to have a much better impact on you. I was pretty disappointed to see them go back to the "3rd version" approach of Crystal/Emerald/Platinum after giving us something more worthwhile with B2W2 (and then nothing at all for Gen VI)...but I've never regretted buying a main series Pokémon game, while I've definitely regretted skipping some (I never got Emerald, which I regret even more after they excluded that Battle Frontier from ORAS), so I'm still interested enough to give USUM a chance. There's also still a lot of Gen VII Pokémon and Alolan Forms that I haven't used yet, so this gives me a chance to journey through Alola with them without just replaying SuMo again. I've actually got a new team bred and ready to transfer over from my Sun game (besides the starter, since I'll just keep the one I pick in USUM): Pichu, Alolan Sandan, Alolan Vulpix, Molunk, and Sankabuh.

Ah, yeah, the concert effect is a powerful force! I'm actually experiencing it myself right now, since just last night a friend and I decided to buy some cheap tickets to Katy Perry's concert tomorrow!

When you say you play your Album Top 20, does that mean you have a playlist with every track from all 20 albums and play through them in order from No. 1 -> No. 20? Or do you bounce around depending more on your mood at the time than their exact chart ranking?

I know I have a partner but I sleep at his place for 2-3 times a week. Also, my previous relationship had some ‘weird’ things and I need to get used to other stuff now, plus my previous relationship left me with bigger issues than I thought it would…

**Hug** I can imagine your own place feeling really lonely sometimes after sharing your home with someone else for so many years. The freedom and total control aspects are pretty awesome...but not having anyone there when you want/need somebody has to be a tough adjustment. Shaking off/moving past everything from a relationship that lasted as long as your last one is no minor adjustment. I totally understand if you don't want to write about this here, but have you and your ex tried to stay friends/in touch at all?

I hope she’s already finish with recording her album, a release date in early 2018 would make the most sense now, especially in the UK.
Same! She has more momentum now than she's had since her debut era, so hopefully a full album isn't far off...

Yeah, its Hot 100 run has turned out to be truly tragic Even if the album effect helps it bounce back for a week or two, it'll probably still end up with one of the fastest falls out of the Top 40 for a No. 1 hit....ever? At least since SoundScan took charge of tracking data in the early 90's, anyway. The only No. 1 hits I can think of that tumbled even faster are the American Idol winners' singles (besides Kelly's), since radio didn't really touch them and the sales were SO front-loaded.

I might've been a bit too hard on it, since it's been popping into my head more than I expected Especially after Jake encouraged me to check out the cute FaceTime video. I'd still agree about it making less of an impact than MANY of her other singles, though!

She's UNREAL! I've never actually seen the show before, so I didn't realize the performances were so elaborate (with the theme/costumes and everything.) It's crazy how her talents go well beyond already being one of the greatest violinists on the planet...

Especially the first half is so strong IMO. That comparison on “Shivers” makes sense – I didn’t even think about it yet Can’t really say who you hear on “Collide” though…

As for Kelly, the album is solid, but my second least favorite release from her so far, only “My December” was a bit weaker. And since the competition on my charts right now is so incredibly strong, she’ll have a VERY shocking second week… If she'd release "Go High" next year, she may turn things around...
Yeah, going back to the Carly Rae comparison once again, hopefully Rachel continues to get enough support to record and release as much stuff as Carly has post-"Call Me Maybe." Rachel does talk about how much she loves making music for a living on "Good Life", so I imagine she'd find a way to keep putting out material even if major labels didn't want anything to do with her anymore.

Even Thankful would rank higher? Meaning Of Life would rank near the bottom for me too, but (almost certainly) above that one, at least...

    • Glad to know you had a great time with Zara...but I'm less than thrilled to see "Symphony" block "Anywhere" by spending a FIFTH week on top :x Hopefully your enthusiasm for "Anywhere" can hold out long enough to out-last Zara's concert effect!
    • I'll guess you really will never forget "Never Forget You" How close is it now to becoming your longest-charting-hit ever?
Ouch @ that No. 2 ---> No. 17 drop for Lindsey! Maybe it'll rebound once when we get closer to Christmas? On that note, Tarja's holiday offerings took quite a tumble too.
    • I just added "Meant To Be" to my library last week, and it could become my favorite Bebe single to date. She's certainly not afraid to experiment with different genres! From "No Broken Hearts" to "In The Name Of Love" to this (and everything else in between!)
    • I'm obviously lovin' the debut for "What Lovers Do" (one my Top 5 most-played tracks of 2017!) Could you post one of those discography screenshots for Maroon 5? (Unless they've had too few hits here to even warrant one...)
    • Poor "So Good" can't even be redeemed by the concert effect.

Yet another chart that's music to my ears, Tansike!

    • Re: My Charts - week 45 - a concert effect So Good

I like Sam Smith's great debut! I hope the album will stick around for a longer period of time. Personally, I haven't found another "Stay With Me" yet but the tracks a quite interesting (lyrically) and I think that one can listen to Sam's beautiful, emotional and soft voice now and then. #longevity

"Anywhere" must be Rita's best song ever. It's a shame she failed with her bathrobe outfit at the EMA's (how uncool!); I would like to start taking her more seriously, though. I hope her upcoming singles will be as listenable as "Anywhere".

Love to see Dark Element getting certified! I can't wait to see their album being #1 for a week until Tansike's Tarja Madness will kick in again

You did predict "Symphony" would climb up the chart again, but I didn't expect it to rocket back to #1! Anyway, it makes for a fantastic chart-topper. It's really one of my favourite songs of the year!

Great to see "Anywhere" at #2; for me, it's pretty damn close to perfect.

"Wolves" has actually been a song I'm revisiting quite a bit. I know it's nothing overly special, but it's a really pleasant listen.

I just heard "Too Good at Goodbyes" at the supermarket a few hours ago. It's not bad, but "Pray," and "Him" are definitely superior.

"Call It What You Want" is quite...soothing. I had it on repeat for about an hour recently, and the melody was just so gorgeous, I couldn't move to another song. I'll listen to Reputation when she releases it on the streaming platforms (i.e. Spotify).

You simply made me think about it, and I didn’t really do that before your question. But last week when I was thinking about all starters, I remembered how much I ADORED the 3rd gen starters and how it was nearly the only Generation where I always wanted to play all three, and where I did multiple playthroughs with all of them. But hey, the 3rd Generation is my favorite one overall to be fair.

Ah yes, I love monkeys, which also surprises me that I never liked Chimchar. But it’s one of the few ones I never played with to be honest, maybe I should do it once to see if I can change my mind about it. Since I’m usually picking the plant starters, I also had my playthroughs with Turtwig and I always loved it, but I also love penguins (my favorite animals back when I was a child) and so I also loved Piplup, so it’s two good ones and one bad one, which makes the whole fourth Generation still quite good when it comes to Starters… I’m quite surprised you rank the newest Generations higher than the fourth

Ah okay. Well, I still haven’t got it yet. And slowly I’m starting to really think about if I actually should buy it or not, because right now I’m not that interested in it

Oh oh oh waiiiiiiittttt you never got Emerald? It is BY FAR my favorite game I spent HOURS in that Battle Frontier and getting some perfect teams, I have played around 400 hours on my current account there Anyways, USUM may be a good way to pick a different team for me and try other things out…. so I may still give it a chance. Oh, sounds like a very nice team to me! So you already have your full team ready?

Oh wow, I hope you enjoyed it! It looks like I’m going to see her as well, but only on the 1st june next year Will be interesting to see how big the concert effect will be on your charts

The second thing is the case… I don’t have a playlist, I just play them in a random order, usually with the ones I’d like to play the most. Usually it’s possible to get everything done from monday to wednesday… like, I work the full day on monday & wednesday and only in the morning on tuesday, so I play the Album Top20 in every morning and usually my Singles Top40 in the afternoon on monday & wednesday. Sometimes there’s enough time to play a few albums more than once, but sometimes it’s also the case that I don’t play all 20 albums, like this week. I only have played half of the Top20 so far and it’s already wednesday, simply because I get stuck on one album and want to play that one over and over again Plus I arrived at work very late on all days

Thank you. Yeah, well, I just realized that I don’t really want that freedom and total control… I want something ‘cheesy’ like going up with the person you love every day, coming home with him, going to the grocery shop and easy stuff like this But hey, here’s hope I get there again one day. Oh, well, it was very complicated at first and I won’t go too much into details, but we met us for a drink two weeks ago and a week ago he even came over to my place for a very short visit (to smoke a cigarette ). So we at least can talk to each other and see us without beating the other one down or so The interesting thing for me is, despite being together with him for so long, I moved on completely when it comes to feelings. Like, there are no feelings left at all. I didn’t expect this to happen so fast… But it’s obviously better that way, at least for me…

This week looks much better, I think it went 34-37 iirc. And it should rise again next week due to the album release, so its chartrun may look slightly better now. But yeah, it’s still quite sad how fast radios let it go…

I hope so too, though Rachel’s new album was a huge flop, while Carly’s “Emotion” still did pretty ‘well’. But to be fair, she already released stuff prior “Fight Song” and her major label deal, so maybe if she gets dropped again by the label, she will still release under a small(er) label or on her own. I’d wish her to do that, so far she has released two albums full of great pop tracks.

Ah sorry, no. I never heard “Thankful”, so I can’t compare that one to her other albums. So second least fave without “Thankful” – I only liked “My December” less, but it still was not bad, and it contains “Never Again”, one of her best singles IMO

Zara’s concert was on a thursday so you could say she had a full week of concert effect, which probably also explains why she’s so successful this week (or last week). She already will fall a lot on tomorrow’s update, while Rita will definitely stick around for a bit longer with “Anywhere”, as I still love it a lot. However, the competition is not sleeping, so #1 will be VERY tough to reach for Rita…

No I won’t, definitely one of my most favorite songs of all time. Funny you’re asking this, as the last time when “Never Forget You” appeared on my chart, you already asked a similar question, so I’m just posting a link to my comment from back then, if you don’t mind
That list is still pretty much accurate except for the obvious “Never Forget You” which has 48 weeks, Ariana’s “Break Free” which has 49 weeks and Ed Sheeran’s “I See Fire” with 58 weeks, but I guess that’s it

These Christmas songs will take another big dive tomorrow, but you’re right, they should rebound again once we’re nearer to Christmas. Plus Tarja’s releasing her album tomorrow, so she may get a boost next week

Yay, that’s good news! It’s a really good song, though it kinda suffers from being released during a busy time when it comes to my own charts. But it’s also one of my faves from her and I agree, she’s not afraid there, which is very cool.

Top5? That’s huge The song is better than I thought it would be, a shame I didn’t care to listen to it much earlier They had too few hits on my chart, but here’s still one of those discography screenshots for Maroon 5 I'm afraid you'll be shocked/disappointed...

Definitely not a worthy title track for the album, and there are many better tracks that deserved to be a single instead of this one

          Thanks a lot

It will be tough for him to stick around very long & high up on my charts right now as there's a lot going on with lots of debuts i'm really looking forward to. Also, the album didn't click with me yet as much as his debut did. He'll obviously do better than someone like Kelly Clarkson though... but i'm not too sure if he can repeat the success of his debut at this point

Wow, very glad to hear you enjoy "Anywhere" that much! I think it may become my favorite one from her as well, though it's currently still "I Will Never Let You Down" for me. Haha I thought that look had something cool... and, when it comes to EMA's, at least she absolutely slayed her performance

They will get another certification tomorrow, and i think you may like it even more Well, who knows about that #1... Taylor and Evanescence released something new as well and they won't give up the fight for the #1 spot. As for Tarja, my excitement is really low at the moment. I mean, she's releasing a freaking new album in two days and i currently don't care at all. I'm afraid the #1 won't be as obvious for her as it used to be for her previous albums...

Spotify).

            ...
Glad you like that climb! Already nice to know that we share one of our favorite songs this year I've played it quite a lot again lately and i still love it so much. The intro, the first few seconds, are always sooo good and makes me feel kinda nostalgic, because when the track came out earlier this year, there was a lot going on in my personal life so i connect "Symphony" to these things, which makes the song even better for me.

            YASSS glad you like it

Oh interesting... while i'm happy to hear you like "Wolves" now, i'm already starting to get over it, which is way too soon for something by Selena. I think even "Fetish" sticked longer to me... Here's hope the AMA performance and the video may help...

But you already heard it before, did you? I think it's still my favorite song on the album... typical Sam but i like it a lot.

It's nice but i'm surprised they went with this as a promo single, as it's more like an album track for me (= sounds good while listening to the album, but doesn't do much alone). Excited to hear your thoughts about the whole album! I 'had' to buy it physically as i didn't want to wait a week longer to get to listen to it

              week 46/2017 – 16 november 2017 a Dark Synthesis

              • Singles Top40

After a week when it was all about Zara Larsson, it’s slowly going back to normality, as the Swedish hitmaker is already falling quite a lot with most of her entries from a week ago. However, there aren’t many new arrivals on the chart, just two to be exact, and both of them were fighting for the top spot. In the end, it’s The Dark Element’s fourth release which made it, and that track is called “The Ghost And The Reaper”. The project by Anette Olzon and Jani Liimatainen has released a video for the song on friday, alongside the release of their self-titled album, and they already get their third number one hit with it, following “The Dark Element” (re-enters at #24, gets certified with Gold this week) and “My Sweet Mystery” (12-9). Only the promo track “Dead To Me” failed to get the top spot, but still peaked at a great #2 (and goes up 7-3 this week). Their closest rival is Within Temptation frontwoman Sharon Den Adel, who has released her solo debut single “My Indigo”, which is way more pop than the stuff she’s doing with her band. The last album by Within Temptation came out nearly four years ago and spawned four Platinum certified singles and one Gold certified single, so the anticipation for a follow-up is very high. The tracks of this weeks Top3 are also the most played songs of the week, with “The Ghost And The Reaper” having over 100 plays and “My Indigo” & “Dead To Me” having around 40 plays.

Zara Larsson goes from having four Top10 hits to one, as “Symphony” is the only one which remains there (1-5). She’s still having some other entries in the upper half though, with “Never Forget You” (5-13), “Uncover” (14-14), “Only You” (8-16), “I Would Like” (9-18) and “Don’t Let Me Be Yours” (13-20). “I Would Like” even goes Gold this week. Her other tracks which are still charting are “Girls Like” by Tinie Tempah (19-30) & “Lush Life” (22-37), while “This One’s For You” by David Guetta, “Ain’t My Fault” and “So Good” have to leave the Top40.

The rest of the best: Rita Ora’s “Anywhere” falls 2-4, Eluveitie’s “Rebirth” goes down 3-6, Marina Kaye’s “Something” dips 6-8 and Selena Gomez & Marshmello’s “Wolves” already decreases 4-10. Last but not least, Clean Bandit score their fourth Top10 hit in a row as “I Miss You” rises 11-7, becoming also the very first Top10 hit for the featured Julia Michaels.

As mentioned, there are only two new arrivals in the Top40, however there are a lot more re-entries, including some due to album releases. The Dark Element’s album was not the only big release that came out last week, as both, Evanescence and Taylor Swift also released their newest records. Evanescence’s release of “Synthesis” brings “Imperfection” back to the charts (#15), while Taylor’s release of “Reputation” is responsible for the re-entries of “Look What You Made Me Do” (#17) and “…Ready For It?” (#21), with the first one going Gold this week. Taylor even owns a third entry, as “Call It What You Want” is still charting too (28-36). The fifth and last re-entry belongs to Halsey, who makes a rather surprising comeback with “Bad At Love” at #34.

Who would have guessed that Noah Cyrus – Miley Cyrus’ little sister – would have a huge hit this year, and probably even ends up above her sister on the Year-End Charts? Well, exactly this happens, at least the part with having a huge hit, as her single “Again” goes Gold this week (10-11). It’s her very first certification, also for the featured XXXTENTACION. Rachel Platten is another pop singer who is having a great 2017 so far, and this week both of her singles gain some spots, with “Perfect For You” climbing 15-12 and “Broken Glass” going up 34-27. Meanwhile, there are some bad news for Christmas releases once again, as Lindsey Stirling’s “Dance Of The Sugar Plum Fairy” plummets 17-38 and Tarja’s “O Tannenbaum” tumbles down 20-39, with her “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel” leaving the chart completely. It’s already pretty safe to see these songs having success again nearer to Christmas, and Tarja’s two songs maybe even already next week, as the singer will release her Christmas album tomorrow.

Rachel Platten’s “Broken Glass” is the biggest climber while Lindsey Stirling’s “Dance Of The Sugar Plum Fairy” is the biggest loser of the week.

              • Album Top20

As expected, the three new albums by Evanescence, Taylor Swift and The Dark Element make a big impact on the Album Top20 this week, with all of them debuting inside the Top3. And while it was expected to see them having a rather strong battle for the top spot, it was quite easy for The Dark Element to win that race with their self-titled studio album. The album generated a massive 300 plays in the last week, and is already the 7th most played album of the year with around 800 plays. “The Dark Element” is not only the first album for that project, but also the first notation for Jani Liimatainen, while Anette Olzon already scored a number one album with her solo debut “Shine” back in 2014, plus another one with “Imaginaerum” in 2011, when she still was part of the symphonic metal band Nightwish.

Funny coincidence, but Evanescence arrive at #2 with “Synthesis”, just on the same position like they debuted with “Evanescence” six years ago and “Lost Whispers” earlier this year. Both of these album rose to the top spot in their second weeks, so it will be interesting to see if “Synthesis” is able to do the same thing. So far, it looks promising, because based on early predictions it was expected to see them only arriving at #3 this week, so they already exceeded these expectations. So, obviously, Taylor takes the third place with her sixth studio album “Reputation”. Her last three albums all debuted atop the charts, with “Speak Now” spending five weeks there and “Red” & “1989” one week each.

Rachel Platten’s “Waves” (2-4) and Marina Kaye’s “Explicit” (4-5) are still doing very well considering the new entries. Meanwhile, after a short visitation back atop the charts, “So Good” by Zara Larsson already falls down 1-6. Sam Smith’s “The Thrill Of It All” drops 3-7, followed by P!nk who stays at #8 with “Beautiful Trauma”, Eluveitie who rises back up 10-9 with “Evocation II: Pantheon” and Lindsey Stirling, who is already about to leave the upper half with her Christmas album “Warmer In The Winter” (7-10).

A fourth and final new entry makes the Top20 this week, and that one belongs to French singer Louane. Her debut album “Chambre 12” was a huge success in Switzerland and France, however it was quite unlucky on mine and peaked at #11. Now, with her second, self-titled studio album, Louane is still very unlucky, as it also arrives just outside the Top10 at #11. Also near to the Top10 is Halsey, who is climbing back up the charts with “hopeless fountain kingdom” (16-12). Similar to last week, there are also some very huge drops on the charts this time, such as “Conscious” by Guy Sebastian (6-13), “Slow Motion” by Eliane (11-19) and “Red Pill Blues” by Maroon 5 (5-20). Kygo’s “Kids In Love” already leaves the Top20 after only one week at #13. Last thing worth a mention is something about Miley Cyrus. While her album “Younger Now” may be stable this week following a few drops lately (14-15), the set goes Gold this week as her fifth album in a row to do so.

I agree, but it's definitely not a bad first solo single. Her voice is just so magical, so this probably helps a lot...

These are the songs that I have heard and like (on some level). Didn't hear "My Indigo" until just now but it sounds promising! So many singles from The Dark Element . There are other songs on the album that I like more but these are good too. Nice to see the return for "Ready for It"!

The top 5 on the albums chart looks much better this than last week! As you already know I listened to the #1 and I really like it, will probably go top 5 on my chart next week. And I'm not surprised Taylor Swift isn't #1 here, but still nice to see her in the top 3.

I haven't actually listened to Louane's album yet but I'm including it anyway because I'm pretty sure I will like it, even though maybe the low(ish) entry here might mean it isn't as good as I had hoped? Going to listen to it tomorrow.

Did Tarja's Christmas album already drop out? I was "debating" with myself whether I should listen to it now or wait until it's actually Christmas. Usually I would wait but now another Christmas-themed song is already smashing (this one, simply too amazing to postpone) so then it probably doesn't make much sense to let other interesting new Christmas songs wait...

That's quite a lot - glad you enjoy all these songs (more or less, at least ). Are you familiar with who is behind My Indigo? It's the frontwoman of Within Temptation, Sharon Den Adel. It's a really nice song and i always loved her vocals. I know, they released so many songs prior the album release, it's incredible Glad you think they're good

Ha, i think i know why you think so And i think you'll be happy to see a certain album fall a lot this week...
Anyways, i'm happy you enjoy so many albums this week. Great news for The Dark Element when it comes to your chart, and no surprise you like "Reputation"

I'm not sure there, as to be honest i also never got much into her debut album, which also just peaked at #11 on my chart. Both are quite similar, i'd even say i prefer "Louane" slightly more than "Chambre 12", so you may like it too.

Yes, it came out last friday! Need to check out that track you posted (i'm at work and can't right now... ) but i think november is actually a good time to start listening to some Christmas music, especially if it's good music as you say

                          week 47/2017 – 23 november 2017 a Dark Christmas

                          • Singles Top40

Following a week with many re-entries, there are a few more new entries on the charts this week, but none of them made a really big impression. The Dark Element are still going on very strong, and while the album release pushed their songs on last weeks chart, three of them remain in the Top10, with “The Ghost And The Reaper” getting a second week atop the charts (1-1), “Dead To Me” even re-peaking (3-2) while “My Sweet Mystery” dips one spot and closes the Top10 (9-10). Only the title track “The Dark Element” already leaves the charts completely after returning to #24 a week ago. The Dark Element’s biggest competition came from Rita Ora, as the singer rises back up 4-3 with “Anywhere”, for a fifth week in the Top10.

The highest new arrival comes in at #5 and is the next single of Lindsey Stirling’s Christmas album “Warmer In The Winter”, called “Christmas C’mon”. It’s one of three original tracks on the album and features singer Becky G. While this is a high arrival, it’s actually a new all time low for the violinist, as all of her singles peaked inside the Top3, but since Christmas is still ahead of us, there’s a chance to see the track getting a new peak sooner or later. Meanwhile, her previous release “Dance Of The Sugar Plum Fairy” already falls off the chart after a disappointing three weeks. It’s been a while, but Emmelie De Forest, the Danish ESC winner from 2013, finally returns with new music in form of the new single “Sanctuary”. The track immediately enters the charts in the Top10 at #9, becoming not only her sixth entry overall, but also her sixth Top10 hit.

Outside of the Top10, there are another three new arrivals and four re-entries to find. American folk singer Brandi Carlile has announced her new studio album “By The Way, I Forgive You” which will be released in early 2018 as the follow-up to her number one album “The Firewatcher’s Daughter”. Alongside the pre-order, she also released the first track called “The Joke”, which arrives at #12 this week. Luis Fonsi may have the most watched video of all time and the most successful single of the year with “Despacito”, however he never made an appearance on my charts so far, until now, as he debuts at #19 with “Échame La Culpa”, the follow-up to that massive hit and a collaboration with Demi Lovato, who scores her 18th chart entry with it. Despite starting as the clearly weakest Disney girl, she already has three chart entries more than Miley Cyrus, but is still behind Selena Gomez who has 23 entries on her own. The fifth and final new entry belongs to DJ and producer Steve Aoki, who collaborated with Fifth Harmony member Lauren Jauregui on “All Night” (#30).

As mentioned, there are also four re-entries, and all of them are back on the charts due to album releases. Tarja has the highest one, as her former number one hit “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel” is back at #23 following the release of “From Spirits And Ghosts”. The duo Aly & AJ celebrated their very first notation ever just a few weeks ago with “Take Me”, which returns to a new peak at #33 now thanks to their new EP “Ten Years”. Meanwhile, Swedish hitmaker Tove Lo is back at #38 with “Disco Tits” due to the release of “Blue Lips” while Paloma Faith re-enters the charts at #39 with “Crybaby” due to the release of “The Architect”.

The rest of the best: My Indigo’s “My Indigo” falls 2-4, Marina Kaye’s “Something” is back up 8-6, Clean Bandit’s “I Miss You” stays at #7 while Noah Cyrus & XXXTENTACION’s “Again” returns 11-8.

After a meager three weeks, Selena Gomez’ “Wolves” already dips out of the Top10 (10-11). All other of her official singles spent more weeks inside the Top10. Eluveitie’s “Rebirth” (6-13) and Clean Bandit & Zara Larsson’s “Symphony” (5-16) also leave the Top10, with the latter slowly going back to normality following the concert effect of Zara’s first concert ever in Switzerland three weeks ago. All other songs by Zara also keep on decreasing, with “Never Forget You” dropping 13-22, “Only You” going down 16-27, “Don’t Let Me Be Yours” falling 20-37 and “I Would Like” even tumbling down 18-40. The most impressive thing is the consistency of “Uncover”, which only slips 14-15. After rising back up the charts a week ago, Marina Kaye’s “On My Own” is going back down 26-31, however it gets certified with Platinum this week as her third song to do so following her debut single “Homeless” and the song “Sounds Like Heaven”, which featured Lindsey Stirling.

Maroon 5’s “What Lovers Do” got a surprising boost and is up 35-26 as the biggest climber while Zara Larsson’s “I Would Like” is the biggest loser this week.

Three huge names all debuted a week ago, and while this week was yet another busy one with another five new arrivals, there was only one which was expected to make a really big impact, and that’s “From Spirits And Ghosts (Score For A Dark Christmas)”, the new Christmas album by Tarja. The singer already gets her impressive 11th chart entry with that record since the album charts started back in 2010, with the last nine all even debuting right at the top of the album charts, only her first entry “My Winter Storm” got a #5 peak, simply because it was originally released in 2007 and therefor it wasn’t able to get that much of success. Despite that incredibly huge discography, the Finnish siren doesn’t enter the charts at number one this week, as “From Spirits And Ghosts” only arrives at #2. That’s probably not the biggest surprise though, as her last single “O Tannenbaum” also currently is her first single ever not to reach #1 on the Singles Charts, but since it’s a Christmas album and that time of the year is yet to come, there’s a chance she may get a new peak sooner or later.

So, who blocked Tarja? Funny coincidence, but it’s also a former Nightwish frontwoman, as it’s Anette Olzon’s project The Dark Element which stays at number one for a second week with their self-titled album. Evanescence make the symphonic rock Top3 complete as their “Synthesis” slips 2-3.

As mentioned, there are five debuts in total, but only four of them made the upper half. Apart from Tarja, that’s “Everyday Is Christmas” by Sia (#6), “Blue Lips” by Tove Lo (#8) and “Ten Years” EP by Aly & AJ (#10). Tove Lo’s debut is rather disappointing, as she’s coming from two Gold certified #2 peaking albums, while this is Aly & AJ’s very first album notation ever.

The rest of the Top10: Rachel Platten’s “Waves” (4-4) and Marina Kaye’s “Explicit” (5-5) remain strong in the Top5, Taylor Swift’s “Reputation” already falls 3-7 while Halsey’s “hopeless fountain kingdom” climbs back up 12-9.

Sam Smith’s “The Thrill Of It All” already drops 7-12, followed by P!nk’s “Beautiful Trauma” (8-13), Eluveitie’s “Evocation II: Pantheon” (9-14), Zara Larsson’s “So Good” (6-15) and Lindsey Stirling’s “Warmer In The Winter” (10-16), which all leave the upper half as well. Eluveitie’s album goes Platinum this week, which is their first Platinum certification ever. The fifth and final arrival of the week comes in at #11, and that’s “The Architect” by Paloma Faith. It’s the singers fourth studio album and second chart entry, following “A Perfect Contradiction”, which peaked at #5.

                                • The Dark Element (Anette Olzon & Jani Liimatainen) – The Ghost And The Reaper - Hmmmmm, I'm not sure how I feel about this song TBH. She has quite an amazing and unique voice (well I think so) but the song was a bit over the place for me. A bit too base ravey for me, if that makes sense? But I did enjoy it. Actually reminds me of something that the cast of The Nightmare Before Christmas would sing .

11 (10) Selena Gomez & Marshmello – Wolves - Great to see Wolves hanging on!

25 (22) Kesha – Praying *P* - Interesting chart run for Praying. Personally I still can't get into it. Doesn't feel like the true Ke$ha I enjoyed.

And thanks for checking out "The Ghost And The Reaper". I didn't expect you to like the song, simply because i don't expect many people to like it at all So i'm actually really happy to hear your thoughts about her voice and that you still kinda enjoyed it. I get what you mean with it being too base ravey, and OMG that would fit so well!

Glad you like "Wolves". While i got over it rather quickly for a Selena song, i went back to enjoy it a little bit more again, so it should hang on in the Top20 for some more weeks... (probably also depends on the upcoming Christmas releases).

Ouch Sad to hear this, as it's definitely one of the best tracks this year for me. But i get what you mean, dance/pop Ke$ha was so good...

Gen III is your favorite overall? Not just the starters, but the games/region/characters/etc. too?

Ha, well, when it comes to Gen VII, I can at least say that I really love all three starters in their base forms (which I can't say for Gen IV.) The Gen VII starters don't stay as equally enjoyable once they evolve (especially their middle stages, which are all pretty fugly), but none of them underwhelm me all the way through their evolutionary lines the way that Turtwig/Chelast does (and even Chimchar/Panflam to a degree, due to my unenthusiasm for monkeys) Chespin/Igamaro deserves a lot of the credit for redeeming the Gen VI trio (though Fennekin/Fynx is pretty cute, and Greninja/Quajutsu is pretty undeniably badass, even though I'm not crazy about real-world frogs.)

Based on what I've seen elsewhere, something managed to re-kindle your interest in USUM? ;) Glad to hear it, of course! I'm on Route 5 right now, probably tackling Lana's/Tracy's Trial later today. I've avoided spoilers (aside from the official trailers that were released ahead of time), which has helped the minor differences from the original SuMo feel more interesting/surprising.

Woah Emerald = your absolute favorite Pokémon game of all-time EVER? I really did pick the wrong one to skip (I also passed on FireRed/LeafGreen, but I'm not nearly as regretful about missing those, especially now that the Gen I games are playable via virtual console.) Ha, yeah, I wanted to be able to experience the whole journey with my whole team, instead of waiting until they're available in the wild in USUM (especially since ones like Alolan Vulpix and Sandan probably aren't available until pretty late into the game.) So I bred all five in Sun (besides Litten/Flamiau) and traded them right over to UltraSun at Lv. 1.

Many thanks - and I definitely did! The seats weren't the best for picture-taking, but it was still a ton of fun to sing along to so many beloved songs. She made sure to include all of her biggest hits, while still giving some random Witness tracks time to shine too. She didn't perform "Hey Hey Hey" at all, which gives me hope that the rumors about it being a single are untrue I think I read that Carly Rae will be her opening act overseas? If so, that is AMAZING!!!

Ah, so you have Tuesday afternoons reserved for some...? ;)

Ha, well, it's good to know that he can still be a pleasant smoking buddy, at least It's funny - the little things you describe, they're so easy to take for granted (at least for me) once they become a part of your routine, but I can understand how I'd be quick to miss them if I were ever back on the dating scene. Those simple parts of your day-to-day life that you share with a long-time partner (especially one you live with), but probably not someone you just started dating. I can't imagine many guys would enjoy buying groceries with you on a second or third date...

And now, having fallen No. 31 ---> No. 44, it's officially out of the Hot 100 Top 40 in its 14th week. **Sigh** I'd read that this VERY-rapid drop had something to do with her label deliberately pulling it from radio and pushing stations to spin "...Ready For It?" instead, but Taylor's certainly managed more than one radio hit at a time before, so it just looks/feels like her team is trying to sweep LWYMMD under the rug. :-?

But to be fair, she already released stuff prior “Fight Song” and her major label deal, so maybe if she gets dropped again by the label, she will still release under a small(er) label or on her own. I’d wish her to do that, so far she has released two albums full of great pop tracks.

Ah sorry, no. I never heard “Thankful”, so I can’t compare that one to her other albums. So second least fave without “Thankful” – I only liked “My December” less, but it still was not bad, and it contains “Never Again”, one of her best singles IMO
Ah, you're totally right about Rachel's earlier albums! Kind of like Carly Rae's Tug Of War. Have you heard any of Rachel's pre-Fight Song EP/Wildfire independent material?

"Never Again" really is under-rated (well, that whole era was such a frustrating/heartbreaking mess, of course...)

                                      • Hmmm...it's no "My Sweet Mystery", but something about Anette's voice and these melodies makes me think I could actually be endeared to metal more than I'd ever expected If Anette is the vocalist, which one is Jani? One of the guitarists?
                                      • I CAN'T @ Lindsey's overwhelming cuteness in the "Christmas C'mon" video I wouldn't have thought to pair her with Becky G, but they've created a delightful festive offering!
                                      • I wasn't expecting "What Lovers Do" to reverse course, so that's a really pleasant surprise!
                                      • I think a while back I was concerned about "Bad At Love" killing Halsey's Hot 100 momentum, and I was clearly 100% wrong about that It's actually out-peaked it now!
                                      • Nice to see "Disco Tits" back in the wake of the Blue Lips release. I wasn't really able to give it proper attention last week due to all the Thanksgiving distractions, so I'm still sorting out my favorite tracks...but I'm pretty sure it's my least favorite of her three albums so far. Nothing's hitting me like "Talking Body", "True Disaster", 'Timebomb", "Imaginary Friend", etc. What do you think of the rest of it?
                                      • So "Crybaby" (barely) re-entered...but still no sign of "Guilty"?
reputation only entered at No. 3...and is already down to No. 7? Does nothing else come close to "Don't Blame Me", "Delicate", and the singles for you?

Awh thank-you . I just took a bit of a break as a few things that happened didn't sit well with me! But I'm glad to be back ! I did some travelling while I was away though, was thinking of putting some pictures up in the picture thread.

It's always great to check out your chart as there is always some interesting surprises that pop up!

But yes @ wolves going to stick around a bit longer, providing as you mentioned Christmas tunes don't come and push it completely out.

Yes, it is overall my most favorite Generation, the whole thing. 2nd Gen most likely comes second for me
What would be your most favorite Generation, if you would have to pick one?

Aw, sad to hear this for Turtwig, as I really like that one. I agree when it comes to Chespin, I really love that one too and it seems like a better version of Turtwig somehow, don’t you think so too? The whole trio is actually quite good in Gen VI as it’s one of the rare cases when I’m usually not 100% sure which one to pick, as all of them have something cool on them.

Oh yes! I was in a store and they had the new games so I thought why not and bought Ultramoon (I went with this as I already have Sun, so I thought I try UM out and not US). I only played a few minutes, probably like 45 minutes or so so far, so I’m not that far at all, however I already caught five Pokémon on the first possible place (where the professor shows how to catch Pokémon) within 2-3 minutes this morning Starting UM I realized how awesome that region actually is!
Good, I also avoided spoilers and didn’t see all the trailers before the release so I’m excited to find out the difference from Sun to Ultramoon
Which one did you pick? Ultramoon or Ultrasun?

Yes, it is. But if you enjoyed Sapphire/Ruby, you would have LOVED Emerald for sure. It’s still kinda samey of course, but the things after the main story (the battle frontier, or what its name is) is (or was) truly awesome and I spent days there! That was also why my expectations on Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire were so big, and I got disappointed in the end.
I think you didn’t miss much by skipping FireRed / LeafGreen, as they weren’t that different. It was just cool to play the first Generation with better graphics.
Sounds awesome! I really want Sandan oder Vulpix in my team as well as they’re awesome, so I’m thinking about doing something similar too… as once you’d be able to catch them, it’s probably already too late to get it in my team and enjoy it…

Ah, so you have Tuesday afternoons reserved for some...? ;)
Very glad to hear you enjoyed the concert so much! Oh, strange she didn’t do “Hey Hey Hey”. So you wouldn’t be happy about that single choice? I think there’s better stuff on the album, but also worse… as long as there’s a single I’m probably happy with it Oh Oh Oh WAAIIIIT that would be so freaking AWESOME! I nearly bought tickets for Justin Bieber YEARS ago simply because of her being the opening act for him, but didn’t do so in the end. I would love to see her live so this would be a great opportunity…

Haha… mess… I mean, not only Tuesday afternoons are reserved for that

Those simple parts of your day-to-day life that you share with a long-time partner (especially one you live with), but probably not someone you just started dating. I can't imagine many guys would enjoy buying groceries with you on a second or third date...
                                          <3

Now, like two weeks after writing down that I still get along with my ex, I just realized that I don’t want to stay in touch with him. He did more to me than I realized so I think I need to end that chapter of my life now… I know! I think once these ‘easy’ thing are normal, which happens quite fast I guess, you take them for granted and many people don’t even realize how much they have or how nice these things actually are, especially when you’re able to do them with the person you love. Haha going to a grocery shop on the second date would be an interesting thing to do

Ouch. Yes, its airplay started to drop incredibly fast out of a sudden which is why it started to drop so fast on the Hot 100 too. A shame, as “…Ready For It?” didn’t took off the way it should have. But now it looks like “End Game” will do so… so era saved, I guess

YAY! That’s awesome to hear! Well, to be fair, “My Sweet Mystery” and “The Ghost And The Reaper” aren’t typical metal songs, and Anette’s poppy vocals and the melodies kinda make it like ABBA meets Metal, or so, which is also why some non-metal-fans like that stuff
Yes, Jani is one of the guitarists, the one with the long hair. The other two are from one of Jani’s former bands. Jani is also the songwriter and producer of all songs

It’s really cute <3 I wasn’t too sure about that song at first (it was actually one of my least faves on the album!) but since she released the video I’ve been listening to it over and over again and now I’m loving it

Glad you like the climb for “What Lovers Do” (I hope this week won’t disappoint you though )

So unexpected! I really like “Bad At Love”, but I didn’t expect this to become her highest peaking single as a lead artist ever Very happy for her!

It’s all on the same solid level, nothing really stands out for me and overall it’s clearly my least favorite album by Tove So yeah, we feel the same when it comes to “Blue Lips”…

No “Guilty”, but maybe soon as I’m still discovering the album.

Ah don’t worry, “Reputation” will climb again

                                          Thanks a lot

But yes @ wolves going to stick around a bit longer, providing as you mentioned Christmas tunes don't come and push it completely out.

We’re one month away from Christmas, so while the past few weeks were full of new releases, it’s slowly going back to a more quiet time with less new releases, but soon there’ll be more re-entries due to Christmas songs coming back to the charts. There are four new arrivals and two re-entries on the charts this week, with one re- and one new entry being due to new album releases.

So, with not much new things going on, it’s no surprise to see the Top10 being quite constant this week. Actually, the Top8 has the exact same songs like last week, just with a slightly different running order. The Dark Element’s “The Ghost And The Reaper” spends a third week atop the charts as only the third song to spend more than two weeks at number one this year so far, following Clean Bandit’s “Symphony” and Lena’s “If I Wasn’t Your Daughter”. Their “Dead To Me” slips 2-3. Meanwhile, Lindsey Stirling’s “Christmas C’mon” has a surprising boost, as it’s up 5-2 following her appearance on Dancing With The Stars last week. Her other Christmas single “Dance Of The Sugar Plum Fairy” re-enters the charts at #37. Rita Ora’s “Anywhere” dips 3-4, followed by My Indigo’s “My Indigo” (4-5), which makes the Top5 complete. “I Miss You” by Clean Bandit and Julia Michaels reaches a new peak (7-6), Noah Cyrus and XXXTENTACION’s “Again” just don’t want to die (8-7), and Marina Kaye’s “Something” keeps on being a hit as well (6-8). Only a week following the Platinum certification for Marina’s “On My Own” (out this week), “Something” also goes Gold this week. The final two Top10 appearances are climbers. At first there’s Taylor Swift’s “…Ready For It?”, which jumps 21-9, followed by Rachel Platten’s “Perfect For You”, which improves 14-10. The latter also goes Gold this week, which is Rachel’s second single certification.

The first debut can be found at #14 and it’s Calvin Harris’ “Faking It”, which features Kehlani and Lil Yachti. It’s Calvin’s third appearance for his “Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1” album following “Heatstroke” and “Feels”. James Arthur has debuted his brand new single “Naked” and enters the charts at #24 with it, while the album release for Björk’s “Utopia” brings “Blissing Me” onto the charts (#29). Finally, the fourth entry goes to Alison Sudol. The singer-songwriter was formerly known as A Fine Frenzy, and already collected a huge hit with “Almost Lover” back in 2008. After a long hiatus, “Enough Honey” is her first new material in years and arrives at #39. The two mentioned re-entries are “’71 Charger” by Loreen, which is back at #22 due to her album release, and the already mentioned “Dance Of The Sugar Plum Fairy” by Lindsey Stirling.

While “The Ghost And The Reaper” and “Dead To Me” are still going on very strong, The Dark Element’s “My Sweet Mystery” dips out of the Top10 this week (10-12). Emmelie De Forest’s “Sanctuary” also leaves that part of the charts, but with a much bigger drop (9-16). While there are usually many new entries which are responsible for many big drops, this week it’s kinda different as there are more climbers worth a mention than droppers. Christmas is coming nearer, and so it happens to see both of Tarja’s current Christmas singles climbing even further, with “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel” going up 23-15 and “O Tannenbaum” increasing 32-25. Another interesting boost went to Halsey, as she’s rising with “Bad At Love”, up 29-18 for a fourth week in the upper half. Last but not least, it’s quite unusual to see a low peaking single like Alan Walker’s “All Falls Down” hanging on for so long, however the track goes up 36-31 this week for a fifth week in the Top40, which may be because of Noah Cyrus as a featuring, who is currently smashing with her own song “Again”.

Taylor Swift’s “…Ready For It?” and Halsey’s “Bad At Love” are the biggest climbers while Luis Fonsi’s and Demi Lovato’s “Échame La Culpa” drops 19-38 as the biggest loser this week.

The Dark Element keep on going on strong, as they are not only defending the top spot for a third week on the Singles Top40, but also on the Album Top20, as their album “The Dark Element” remains there this week. It’s the eighth album with three or more weeks atop the charts in 2017, and it’s very likely to see even more weeks to come for this release. Their closest rival remained Tarja, who still sits at number two with “From Spirits And Ghosts”. Rounding up the Top3 is Taylor Swift, who re-peaks with “Reputation”, which goes back up 7-3.

There are two new arrivals on the chart this week, and both of them made the Top10. Swedish ESC winner of 2012, Loreen, is finally back with a new full-length release. The singer has released her debut album “Heal” already five years ago, which topped the charts for one week, stayed on the chart for incredible 58 weeks and went 3x Platinum. This year she finally returned to the album charts with her “Nude” EP, which peaked at #2 and went Gold. Now she’s back with “Ride”, and since the two singles “’71 Charger” and “Hate The Way I Love You” underperformed it’s probably no surprise to see the album only arriving at #4 as well, and being behind expectations. The second debut belongs to Icelandic icon Björk, who debuts at #9 with her newest set “Utopia”, which is also behind the expectations. The singer never had an entry prior 2015, however, with the release of “Vulnicura” early that year, three other albums by her also entered the charts, with “Vulnicura” itself topping the charts for three weeks. It even ended up in the Top10 of the Year-End Charts 2015.

The rest of the best: Rachel Platten’s “Waves” dips 4-5, Evanescence’ “Synthesis” is down 3-6 followed by Marina Kaye’s “Explicit” (5-7), which also goes Gold this week, just a week after she scored a Platinum single with “On My Own” while the song “Something” goes Gold this week too. Halsey’s “hopeless fountain kingdom” rises 9-8 while Lindsey Stirling’s “Warmer In The Winter” returns 16-10.

With “The Dark Element” still smashing, it’s probably no surprise to see Anette Olzon’s solo debut album “Shine” re-entering the charts. It comes back at #15 for an incredible 111th week, which extends its lead as the longest running album ever. In fact, it’s the only album with 100 or more weeks on the album charts, her closest followers are “Lindsey Stirling” by Lindsey Stirling (94 weeks), “Utopia” by Kerli (85), “Born To Die” by Lana Del Rey (80), “Hydra” by Within Temptation (71) and “Teenage Dream” by Katy Perry (68). Last but not least, Sia’s “Everyday Is Christmas” (6-12), Aly & AJ’s “Ten Years” EP (10-14) and Tove Lo’s “Blue Lips” (8-18) all already leave the upper half after only one week.

There is some degree of ambience in this.
This feels tailor-made for a huge cash-in remix (like ''Prayer in C'').
