Haha i better not say you ARE cause you wouldn't believe me anyway

That's true too. I'm still kinda disappointed how "G.U.Y." flopped... it's so catchy, fun-pop like "The Fame", has a great video... i guess her time seems to be over
Oh yeah, that would fit the song Hahaha they are

      • Oh well I'd have to believe you if you say it here

IKR !!!! I was 99% sure that G.U.Y would revive the Era and give her life It's so unfair that Birthday does moderately whereas G.U.Y did not even do 'anything"
        Perfectly

            week 19/2014 – 8 mai 2014 ESC, Shatter Me!
            • Singles Top40

What happens when the first Semi-Final of the Eurovision Song Contest, the final of DSDS (german Idol) and two big new album releases all are in the same week? Well, the busiest week EVER happens! A massive 13 new entries arrive this week, this is an absolute record since i started doing a Top40 (well, it also never happened before while doing a Top20).

The highest two are on the first two positions. Lindsey Stirling had an amazing year in 2013. Her self-titled debut album was a worldwide success and the biggest album on my charts, including the biggest single of the year “Crystallize”. More than a year after the release, the US violinist just released her second album entitled “Shatter Me”. The album spawned two singles so far, and due to the album release both of them debut on the Singles Charts this week, with the title track “Shatter Me” featuring Lzzy Hale coming in on top (and becoming her first number one as a main act), and first single and album opener “Beyond The Veil” starts new at #2.

It’s ESC time – again! The Contest always brings some big chart action. A big favorite this year is Sweden, whose Sanna Nielsen debuted at #4 last week with her entry “Undo”. Sanna just qualified for the final on the first Semi-Final on tuesday and climbs 4-3 this week, becoming the second Top3-ESC-entry this year after Elaiza hit #1 with “Is It Right” back in march.

Ariana Grande falls 1-4 with “Problem”. Despite being pretty huge at the moment, the competition was just too strong. Another ESC entry just arrives behind Ariana, as UK-singer Molly enters the charts with “Children Of The Universe”. The newcomer is set for the final as the UK is one of the big five countries, which means she hasn’t performed so far. Lindsey isn’t the only big artist who released a new album this week. Nearly five years after her last album, UK darling Lily Allen finally released her third record “Sheezus”. After the first single “Hard Out Here” (debuted at #1 earlier this year), “Air Balloon” serves as the second single and debuts at #6 this week, becoming her 8th Top10 single.

Despite four new entries above, Lady GaGa’s “G.U.Y.” (7-7) and Katy Perry’s “Dark Horse” (8-8) remain surprisingly stable. OneRepublic’s “Love Runs Out” is down 3-9 and Anette Olzon’s “Lies” closes the Top10 (6-10).

Just missing the Top10 are two others new debuts from the first ESC Semi-Final. The hungarian entry “Running” by András Kállay-Saunders is new at #11 while the dutch entry “Calm After The Storm” by The Common Linnets is new at #12. Despite all these big new entries this week, there’s even one song that can climb a lot this week. After the debut last time, Rita Ora’s newest single “I Will Never Let You Down” pushes forwards this week by increasing 34-13. Maybe it can outpeak her highest peaking single “Radioactive” (#9 last year) anytime soon?

“All Of Me” just hit the top of the US Hot100 this week and now the ballad by John Legend finally debuts on my charts as well, coming in at #22 this week. DSDS winner Aneta Sablik is new at #25 with her winner single “The One” and Pharrell Williams debuts at #28 with “Marilyn Monroe”, the second single of his current album “G I R L”. It’s the follow-up to “Happy” which peaked at #13 earlier this year and is down 26-37 this week.

Apart from Meltem Acikgöz, the runner-up of DSDS, whose “Explosion In My Heart” debuts at #34, the rest of the new entries are all songs from the first ESC Semi-Final: San Marino’s Valentina Monetta arrives at #31 with “Maybe (Forse)”, the albanian entry “One Night’s Anger” by Hersi is new at #35 and Tanja enters the charts at #38 with “Amazing”, the entry for beautiful Estonia.

The already mentioned “I Will Never Let You Down” by Rita Ora is the biggest climber this week (it’s actually one of only three songs that rose some places this week) while the biggest loser is Anastacia’s “Stupid Little Things” (23-39).

            • Album Top20

If someone got the biggest Single and the biggest Album of 2013, a new album by this artist is always highly anticipated. US violinist Lindsey Stirling got both last year, and just released her second album called “Shatter Me” – which, of course, debuts on top of the Album Top20 this week. This is indeed pretty unsurprising and it will be interesting to see if she can repeat her success in 2014. But, after all, Lana Del Rey, who got the biggest Single and the biggest Album of 2012, will also release her new album later this year…

As of now, Lindsey can celebrate her second chart-topping album after her self-titled debut topped the charts for five consecutive weeks last year (2-4 this week). Rounding up the Top3 is the compilation of the Eurovision Song Contest 2014, which gets a new peak by rising 4-2, and the new album by Lily Allen called “Sheezus” at #3. “Sheezus” is Lily’s third album and second entry on the album charts after her last record “It’s Not Me, It’s You” topped the charts in early 2010.

Anette Olzon’s “Shine” falls out of the Top3 for the first time in its sixth week (3-5). It’s also getting certified with a Gold certification this week. Seven Lions’ EP “Worlds Apart” falls 1-6, Ariana Grande’s debut “Yours Truly” slips 6-7, Tuomas Holopainen is down 5-8 with “The Life And Times Of Scrooge” and Lady GaGa’s “ARTPOP” (10-9) switches places with “Hydra” by Within Temptation (9-10).

After a really surprising good chartrun, “Mother Earth” by Within Temptation is out of the Top10 this week (8-11). Just behind them there’s a nice re-entry as Ed Sheeran’s “+” is back at #12. It peaked at #9 earlier this year.

With “Hello Kitty” loosing lots of places this week, Avril Lavigne’s album is also falling down (7-14). It’s charting for ten weeks now. Another celebration goes to Katy Perry’s “Prism” which spends its 20th week on the charts (16-17). It also gets certified with Platinum this week – finally!

Two other re-entries are down the charts: Avicii is back with “True” (#18) and Pharrell Williams is back with “G I R L” (#20).

            • Airplay Top10

Another week, another ten new tracks on the Airplay Top10. All songs from last week fall out of the charts again after debuting or re-entering the charts just then, and now we say welcome to nearly all album tracks from Lindsey Stirling’s new album “Shatter Me”.

Title track and second single “Shatter Me” arrives – kinda unsurprisingly – atop of the charts with incredible 139 plays. This debut immediately gives the song the second biggest weekly plays this year, only Emmelie De Forest got more when “Rainmaker” debuted with 168 plays.

Album track “Roundtable Rival” comes in at #2 with first single and album opener “Beyond The Veil” arriving at #3.

The rest of the Top10: “V-Pop” is new at #4, “Mirror Haus” at #5, “Night Vision” at #6, the duet with Dia Frampton called “We Are Giants” is new at #7, “Take Flight” comes in at #8, “Ascendance” at #9 and closing the Top10 is “Heist”.

Since the album contains twelve songs in total, only two songs missed the Top10: “Swag” got 34 plays and album closer “Master Of Tides” got 33 plays, so both only a little bit less than the #10 of this week.

Plays of the Top10 went up by 252 to 574 (+78.3%) compared to last week

1 (NEW) Lindsey Stirling feat. Lzzy Hale – Shatter Me *139 plays*

                  • Excellent #1! It's easily one of my favourite songs of the year so far so many thanks for the recommendation! "Problem" is good, but oh so overrated. "Air Balloon" is one of Lily's poorer singles, but I am super happy to see "I Will Never Let You Down" soar so many places! Definitely one of the best tracks this year.

You're a bit late on the "All of Me" train, but better late than ever. It's a gorgeous ballad and I'm so happy that it's doing so well on the charts. Good to see "Hello Kitty" freefalling.

It occurs to me that Jude does this too, changes who she is depending on who she’s with. They’re like toads changing their skin colour. How come I’m always just me?

I know them since 2003, but the reason why these old songs/albums are charting is because i went to their concert here in march this year. I never paid that much attention to "Mother Earth" (album), but i re-listened to all their albums before the concert and fell in love with "Mother Earth". Plus i started my album charts in 2010, that's also why it never charted before (same with singles, the title track for example would have been a huge hit on my charts, if i would have make a charts back then).

So i guess you like them, too?
Yes, both "Ice queen" and "Mother earth" reached number 1 in my chart in 2002.

Haha, it just started to get a lot of airplay here and also just started to be successful in Switzerland, that's why i'm so late this time as i never checked it out before until i heard it on the radio for the first time like two weeks ago
Do you know that there's a version of "All Of Me" with Lindsey Stirling?

And yes! It's the best pop album with vocals (it's not about vocals tbh, but i also really love Britney's vocals on that record and i think she's better vocally on BJ than GaGa or Katy on their recent records for example)

Yeah, the competition mainly due to the ESC was just too big, and she had better songs. Excited to hear her next single.

After having a lot of entries last week, it’s yet another week with many new- and re-entries. This week it’s the second Semi-Final and the Grand Final of the ESC which mainly influenced the charts, so we see some climbers and some new entries. And like last week, it’s also Lindsey Stirling who got big chart action, so let’s see if Lindsey or an ESC-entry got the number one…

…and it’s Lindsey! Her collaboration with Lzzy Hale called “Shatter Me” remains on top of the Singles Top40 for a second week, becoming the fourth song to do so this year. Tuomas Holopainen’s “A Lifetime Of Adventure”, Emmelie De Forest’s “Rainmaker” and OneRepublic’s “Love Runs Out” did it before.

The austrian entry for the Eurovision Song Contest and the big winner Conchita Wurst rises like a phoenix with her so called “Rise Like A Phoenix” (30-2). It previously peaked at #8 four weeks ago, so it already had some kind of success. Unfortunately it’s the first winner song not to reach the top spot after the final since 2011. But maybe next week? Swedish entry “Undo” by Sanna Nielsen remains at number three (3-3), she also finished 3rd on the contest and runner-up on the contest, “Calm After The Storm” by dutch duo The Common Linnets, rises 12-4 this week.

Lindsey Stirling’s second entry “Beyond The Veil” is down 2-5 in its second week. She’s followed by the hungarian ESC entry “Running” by András Kállay-Saunders who rises 11-6 in his second week on the charts. Ariana Grande loses three places again with “Problem” falling 4-7. Meanwhile, UK singer Rita Ora celebrates another hit with “I Will Never Let You Down”. After the low debut two weeks ago, the song climbs 13-8 this week and becomes her highest peaking single ever, outpeaking “Radioactive” (#9 in early 2013). The last two songs in the Top10 are Emmelie De Forest’s “Rainmaker”, which re-enters the charts at #9 due to the performance on the ESC Final and Lady GaGa’s “G.U.Y.”, which decreases 7-10 and closes the Top10.

“Love Runs Out” by OneRepublic falls out of the Top10 in its fifth week (9-11). Also out of the Top10 are Katy Perry’s “Dark Horse” (after ten consecutive weeks; 8-12), Anette Olzon’s “Lies” (10-13), Molly’s “Children Of The Universe” (5-14) and Lily Allen’s “Air Balloon” (6-16).

UK newcomer Foxes reaches a new peak with “Let Go For Tonight” due to the album release (26-17). Another single of hers – “Holding Onto Heaven” – is new at #33. Coldplay’s latest charting single “Magic” only made an appearance for one week, but due to the anticipation of the album release this Friday, the song is back at #21 and is likely to climb even more next week.

Time to take a look at all other ESC entries this week. Mei Finegold took part for Israel with her “Same Heart” but didn’t make it to the final. But she’s one of the biggest new entries this week at #22. Spain’s Ruth Lorenzo comes in at #24 with the ballad “Dancing In The Rain”. Host Denmark sent Basim and his Bruno-Mars-esque “Cliché Love Song”. The song made it to the Top10 on the ESC and now enters the charts at #28. Just hitting the Top30 is “Silent Storm” by norwegian entry Carl Espen, while swiss entry SEBalter just misses the Top30 and enters the charts at #31 with “Hunter Of Stars”. Romanian entry “Miracle” by Paula Seling and Ovi is down 20-32 in its third week on the charts, estonian entry “Amazing” by Tanja is up 38-35 after the entry last week, Ireland’s “Heartbeat” by Can-Linn and Kasey Smith is new at #36 and Valentina Monetta is the last ESC-entry as San Marino’s song “Maybe (Forse)” is down 31-39 this week.

Meanwhile, Hersi and her “One Night’s Anger” already leaves the charts as the first ESC entry.

Conchita Wurst is the biggest climber with her ESC-winner-song “Rise Like A Phoenix” while DSDS-winner Aneta Sablik is the biggest loser as “The One” falls 25-40.

Wow, what a fight! Lindsey Stirling definitely is a huge chart monster on my personal charts, but so is the yearly compilation for the Eurovision Song Contest. And while all these compilations usually reach the top spot even before the contest, this year this didn’t happen and the compilation just peaked at number two last week after the first Semi-Final with Lindsey debuting on top with her second album “Shatter Me”. And while it looked like this would be the first year ever that the compilation wouldn’t reach the top spot, it finally happens this week as it’s rising 2-1 in its fifth week on the charts. So after only one week, Lindsey’s “Shatter Me” is already down 1-2. Rounding up the Top3 is the self-titled debut album by Lindsey, which is up 4-3 in its 64th week on the charts.

There are two new entries this week. UK newcomer Foxes just released her debut album called “Glorious” and debuts at #4 this week. The other entry comes from dutch symphonic metal band Epica and their newest release “The Quantum Enigma”. Despite having released lots of albums already, “The Quantum Enigma” is their first entry ever and starts at #6. Between them there’s Lily Allen, whose “Sheezus” is down 3-5 in its second week.

Anette Olzon leaves the Top5 for the first time, falling down 5-7 in its seventh week on the charts with her solo debut “Shine”. Also down two places is the “Worlds Apart EP” by Seven Lions (6-8). Ed Sheeran re-peaks with his debut album “+” as it’s up 12-9 this week while Ariana Grande’s “Yours Truly” closes the Top10 (down 7-10).

In its 15th week on the charts, Within Temptation’s “Hydra” leaves the Top10 for the very first time as it slips 10-11. Their other charting album “Mother Earth” is down 11-14 this week. Tuomas Holopainen’s “The Life And Times Of Scrooge” also leaves the Top10 for the first time as it’s down 8-13.

Lady GaGa’s “ARTPOP” is on the charts for its 26th week, which is a half year. It’s down 9-12 this week, but it was already as down as #18 a few weeks ago. There are two little re-entries as Bruno Mars is back at #16 with “Unorthodox Jukebox” and Tarja is back at #19 with “Colours In The Dark”. Both were very big in 2013.

This week it’s Lindsey Stirling Vs. the Eurovision Song Contest on every charts. While Lindsey got the number one on the Singles Top40, the ESC got the top position on the Album Top20. But who won the battle on the Airplay Top10? Well, it’s clearly Lindsey Stirling! While the US violinist got all entries last week, she still has eight songs on the charts this time and only one song from the ESC is charting.

The title track of Lindsey’s album “Shatter Me” remains the most played song with another impressive 130 plays. That’s only nine plays less than the song got last week. Album track “V-Pop” is up 4-2 and got 39 plays while album opener and first single “Beyond The Veil” remains at number three with 37 plays.

Album tracks “Mirror Haus” (5-4) and “We Are Giants” featuring Dia Frampton (7-5) both reach a new peak this week. Meanwhile “Roundtable Rival” (2-6), “Night Vision” (6-9) and “Take Flight” (8-10) all lose some places. The two album tracks “Ascendance” and “Heist” both got 23 plays this week, so just missed the Top10 and fall out of the charts after just one week. Also, “Swag” and “Master Of Tides”, the two last song on the album, remain the only songs that never made an appearance and with 21 plays each they just missed their entry by a few plays again.

Austrian ESC winner Conchita Wurst debuts on the Airplay Top10 with her winner single “Rise Like A Phoenix”. The song got 28 plays, enough for an appearance at #7. One place below there’s Rita Ora debuting with newest single “I Will Never Let You Down”.

Plays of the Top10 went down by 166 to 408 (-28.9%) compared to last week.
