Great to see such a huge debut for "Catwalk". The little shuffle shuffle performance Ru did for it for S14, E1 was a cute surprise. For a 'Drag' song, it's so sober and subdued, though, so for now I'm still partial to "Bring Back My Girls".

Leony's is currently on heavy rotation for me... simple but very effective Pop song IMO!
Yes, Stromae is definitely not a hit chasing artist these days... but this makes it even nicer to see L'enfer doing well on the charts!

So far, only all songs up to (and including) Take My Breath really stand out from the album. But it's still fresh so maybe others will grow on me the more I listen to the album.

I was living for Ru's performance! It works so well as runway song IMO. I get what you mean, but I think that's why I'm enjoying it... it's a song that also works outside of Drag Race. Ru's whole new album is surprisingly good.

Then it's probably a good thing I usually like Imagine Dragons I really think this is Muse going back to their strength and I'm excited for what's to come.

Yep the original song is so different... or one would think a Rock or Metal cover of that song wouldn't work, but I'm loving it. Especially the bridge by Melissa is just fantastic!

Because I wanted one as well but it's only available very late in the game So I added Roselia instead as both of them need a Shiny Stone to evolve and I already spent two hours to get at least one (...I actually caught five Pachirisu with Pickup ability and battled wild Pokémon in an early route with them...)
Some of your replacements sound awesome, too! Never tried Gible but always thought about it and I just thought about Frolass earlier today as well. Maybe I'll add it once I can catch a Snorunt. Are you someone who already thinks about the team previously or are you going along with what happens in the game?
Yes, the Underground is awesome. I forgot that I already loved it back in the days though, and as you say, even the digging is already addictive <3
What your overall impression on the games so far?

I'm finally in the post-game/Battle Zone now, and they've been...fine. They're as enjoyable as the original DP (slightly moreso thanks to improvements like fixing HMs), but I'm disappointed by the choice to make them SUCH "faithful" remakes. The Grand Underground was a major positive addition (though you still can't even find all the Pokémon that were added to the Sinnoh Dex in Platinum down there, like Eevee, Yanma, etc), but that's not enough to make up for the fact that the entire story, Trainer teams, region layout, etc are all identical to DP. I'm not outraged, and I still had fun, but it's sad to think that we'll probably never get proper remakes like HGSS or ORAS again. Are you still playing BDSP? What was your final team? Also: no Legends: Arceus spoilers, plz I know the whole Dex (and the entire game?) leaked this week, but I'm trying to avoid anything beyond what was revealed in official trailers (like Hisuian Voltorb).

We have two cats living in our apartment, Lucifer and Foxy, both being around 9-10 months old now. Though they actually belong to our roommate, she really wanted to have to cats when we decided to move in together. Love them, especially Lucifer who's just the sweetest, cuddliest cat I've ever met. But once we move out, we're probably going to get a dog for us

Too early yet simply because Sweet Melody is that good (and still gets me a year later) but No is definitely my 2nd most favorite song by them as for now. I'm still a bit mad I didn't get into the girls way earlier... or it's beyond me how their stuff didn't click with me back then. Since Between Us came out I love most of their singles and am shocked how most of them underperformed for me back then (side note, as I'm typing this whole reply, I'm actually listening to the best of <3)

Well, kinda-sorta. I didn't watch The X Factor, but I did pick up DNA, and it didn't really grab me beyond the singles, so I didn't pay much attention to the Salute era. Then "Black Magic" became their biggest hit with me by far, and I enjoyed the Glory Days era too, but I wasn't into the LM5 singles....so basically a lot of on-and-off over the years, ha. I hope we get at least one more (studio) album from them someday, since I'm curious how a full album/proper era as a trio would turn out.

I think Years & Years are (or is) on a downward trend anyways. Not sure if the upcoming album will come near to the perfection that was Palo Santo as none of the singles did it for me yet. But I guess this means you've been enjoying the other singles so far?

Yeah, it definitely feels like their/his weakest era so far, but "Sooner Or Later" re-kindled my interest a little, and "Sweet Talker" started growing on me this past week too. Sidenote: it's a bit off-putting that Olly's keeping the Years & Years name instead of just releasing this new stuff as solo work under his name. I know that's not unheard of (Brendon Urie did the same thing with Panic! At The Disco), but it kinda gives the impression that Olly just thought Y&Y was all about him all along I get that he's always been the frontman/face of the group, but the contributions of the other members definitely mattered (since their absence is definitely noticeable now).

• Impressive longevity for Grimes and especially Halsey! Did the deluxe edition of IICHLIWP help "I Am Not A Woman" rebound? "People Disappear Here" didn't do much for me, but I might prefer "Nightmare (Reprise)" to the original version.
• Lovin' that new Top 10 peak for "Tears In The Club." I don't know FKA Twigs's catalog well at all (her only other song in my library before "Tears" was "Good To Love"), but I've been enjoying this one. Do you have any other recommendations from Caprisongs?
• I mentioned "Sooner Or Later" above, so I'm glad it debuted inside your Top 20!
• If only Avril could've managed the same thing At least it's an improvement over poor "Bite Me"s (under)performance here! I'm pretty pleased with both, so Love Sux could become the first album of 2022 to really make a splash with me.

Wohoo, congrats on making it to post-game! May I ask what your final team has been?
I feel the same as you when it comes to the games. They're good and I enjoy them a lot, but it definitely is a missed opportunity and they should've based these games on Platinum instead of just Diamond / Pearl. Thankfully I'm also not outraged by this but it seems like many fans are and everyone has been so excited for these remakes so yeah, this was yet another release that left many fans disappointed. As for my playthrough, I haven't played in a while It's somehow frustrating how quickly I get "over" playing a game, because I really didn't think this would happen this time but it did just like it happened with every generation or Pokémon game that has been released in the last decade. And it's not because the game is not good or so, it's just... I don't know, I guess I'm just not the biggest gamer anymore. But I will try to pick it up again asap, because originally I wanted to be done when Arceus gets released. I'm currently just before getting the seventh badge.
My current team is Empoleon, Rampardos, Roserade, Honchkrow, Gallade and Pachirisu.

And sure for Arceus, I also haven't see / read to much of it yet... just less than a week to go!!

No, they're not from the same litter, but they were born just with one day apart from each other. Not yet, it's actually a very difficult decision because there are so many that we would love to get... I think we will end up visiting an animal shelter and will decide spontaneously.

I think their second album was their least impactful era anyways, so it's not too surprising to hear you didn't pay attention to it... I guess looking back, their third album was definitely some make or break moment and they did everything right with it and just kept getting better with each release ever since then (IMO at least). Them also having these ups and downs for you at least makes them interesting Yep, agreed. I'm still a bit sad how No didn't end up a bigger hit for them (or the whole Between Us era).

You'll be very pleased with the upcoming new update because I'm feeling completely the same as you when it comes to Sooner Or Later - finally a single by them that really gets to me again!
As for Olly being Years & Years or vice versa, I get you, it's also like if Adam Levine decides Maroon 5 is a solo project. Or Clean Bandit ending up just being one person who produces / does DJing. On one side it feels weird, but I get it on the other side, because I'm not sure with Olly himself made a big enough name to drop music, while everyone has heard about Years & Years and in the end, it's not his fault the other wanted to leave the group, right?

It was mainly the year-end countdown that helped I Am No A Woman rising back up the charts, the deluxe edition itself didn't push it or the album that much because even before it was released, I was still so in love with it. Also agreed, the new version of Nightmare is fantastic and I'm glad it got to be part of the album now, because it fits so well.

Gotta be honest here - I played Caprisongs just three times so far and even after that, Tears In The Club remains by far the clear standout for me. All other songs are not bad, but they are all a bit samey and on a similar level. It's a good R&B record, but sadly I can't really highlight another song  

...and Years & Years is going to have an even better week!

Well yeah, it's nice so many people love the stuff from Avril's upcoming album so far but IMO they're not as strong as most of her previous stuff... I'm definitely having mixed feelings going into Love Sux for now, I thought the direction she was going for with Head Above Water suited her so well and she should've done another album with that direction.

Singles Top40

The Singles Top40 is all over the place this week and 2022 continues with being surprisingly busy - there are a total of nine new entries and two re-entries on the charts, and due to these, there are some big drops, but surprisingly also some big climbers. However, in the end, none of these were strong enough to make it all the way to the top, as it’s Leony who takes the lead this week for her latest single Remedy. The German singer already debuted high on the charts a week ago and rises 3-1 now, to score her second top hit out of four chart entries to date. Her other top hit - Raindrops with Katja Krasavice - also keeps doing well (16-20), while Leony is also part of AVAION and VIZE’s Pieces that falls 28-34 this week.

Feuerschwanz scored a top debut for Ding out of the blue last week and keep going strong. The Melissa Bonny assisted cover of Seeed’s hit from over a decade ago was a strong contender for the top spot this week as well, but slips 1-2 in the end. It’s still a great week for Feuerschwanz though, as their other charting track Untot im Drachenboot jumps 12-4, nearly making it an all German Top3 this week.

Completing the Top3 is the highest of all new entries, coming from the new formation Eye Of Melian. The group released their debut single The Bell just a few weeks ago and immediately got their first number one track through it. Follow-up single Vita Nova also does well right away by arriving at #3. It also gives The Bell a new boost, as the song rises 23-15 this week.

Other new and re-entries this week: Unconventionally we start with the two re-entries, as they both return due to two album releases this week. First up is Years & Years, who finally released his third studio album Night Call this week. The album already spawned a few chart entries last year and its release brings Crave back to the charts, also immediately reaching a new peak at #17. Furthermore, the latest single Sooner Or Later also experiences a boost and rises 17-5 to tie Valentino (with MNEK) from early 2019 as Years & Years’ second highest peaking song ever, with only the #3 peaking Meteorite from late 2016 having an even higher peak. The other album release with a big impact is Aurora’s The Gods We Can Touch. The Norwegian songstress has already charted several songs on the charts in the last few weeks and while the album brings Cure For Me back to #39, it also boosts Everything Matters feat. Pomme (22-12), A Dangerous Thing (29-16), Heathens (32-27) and Midas Touch (38-33), with the first two even reaching new peaks through this.

The second highest debut of the week goes to American newcomer Lizzy McAlpine, who happens to be an unexpected discovery but just at the right time, as she just announced the release of her upcoming new album Five Seconds Flat for an early April release. Erase Me with English Grammy favorite Jacob Collier was already released as a single two months ago and finally finds its way to the charts at #8. She’s followed by German Pagan-Folk band Faun, who also happen to release their new album in April this year. While they just scored two entries with Wainamoinen (9-14) and Galdra (14-25) last week, the band already released another new song called Baldur this week that makes it to #9. A fourth new entry also reaches the Top10 and it’s by Taylor Swift. The singer keeps making impacts from time to time and following the big success that was All Too Well (12-21), Message In The Bottle was chosen as the next official single of Red (Taylor’s Version), as it was already promoted on radios for a while and got some additional remixes this week. The song debuts at #10 as Taylor’s impressive 41st chart entry to date and 28th to reach the Top10.

K-Pop star Taeyeon is back with a new song called Can’t Control Myself (#24), Charlie Puth scores his first entry in a year and a half with Light Switch (#26), Christina Aguilera teamed up with Ozuna on Santo (#30), Kiesza continues the 80s trend with Passenger (#37) while Au/Ra’s Plz Don’t Waste My Youth is the final debut of the week and just sneaks (#40).

Other talking points this week: Only one more thing that’s worth a mention and that’s Grimes’ Player Of Games, as the track gets certified with Gold this week despite leaving the Top5 for its first time (4-7). Out of 11 chart entries to date, Player Of Games is already her eighth to get a certification.

Aurora’s A Dangerous Thing is the biggest climber, while among many drops on the charts and even completely out of the chart like for Gjon’s Tears’ Silhouette (ex #18) or rather shockingly Alesso & Katy Perry’s When I’m Gone (ex #21), the biggest loser of the week ends up being Katja Krasavice & Marwin Balsters’s Narben by falling 6-29.

Album Top20

Spoiler!

Three new albums and a re-entry find their way to the Album Top20 this week and two of these were the clear standouts, leading the soundtrack for Arcane: League Of Legends to fall 1-3 after reigning for the first two weeks of the year. New atop is The Gods We Can Touch, the third studio album by Aurora. The Norwegian singer-songwriter has been very successful with a bunch of songs on the Singles Top40 lately, so her new album debuting right atop the chart is a great addition to her new found success. Overall, The Gods We Can Touch becomes Aurora’s fourth entry on the album charts, following her debut All My Demons Greeting Me As A Friend (#3 in 2016), the first installment of Infections Of A Different Kind (#2 in 2018) and the second installment of Infections Of A Different Kind (#6 in 2019).

Following The Gods We Can Touch is Night Call, the third studio album Years & Years. While the project started as a group, Years & Years ended up as just being singer Olly Alexander now, but continues with being just as successful as before. Even though the debut album Communion only peaked at #10 in 2015, it still went on to chart for an impressive 13 weeks, while the second album Palo Santo peaked at #2 in 2018.

Other new and re-entries this week: The third and final new entry goes to Christina Aguilera, who released her highly anticipated first Spanish project with the La Fuerza EP and makes it to #9. This is her first entry in three and a half years and fourth, but lowest overall, as she previously charted with Bionic (#6 in 2010), Lotus (#2 in 2012) and Liberation (#3 in 2018). This brings her back to having thee entries on the charts, as she also keeps charting with Red (Taylor’s Version) (10-14) and Evermore (16-20).

Other talking points this week: It’s a good week for some of the newer albums, as Inna’s Champagne Problems #DQH1 returns back to its peak by increasing 5-4, The Weeknd rises 8-5 for a completely new peak for his Dawn FM, while Bastian Baker stays at #7 following the debut for Stories Of The XXI a week ago. Feuerschwanz’ Memento Mori also holds up well and only dips 6-8 in its fourth week. There are also some bigger drops though, as FKA twigs’ Caprisongs already descends 4-11, while The Lumineers’ Brightside drops 11-19.

Bubbling Under

As if the onslaught on the singles charts wouldn’t be enough, there have been even more songs that were close to making the list and have to settle down for the Bubbling Under chart instead now, making this chart also very busy. Only two songs from a week ago are still charting and they’re both from the Arcane: League Of Legends soundtrack, with Bea Miller’s Playground still taking the lead and spending a fourth consecutive week atop the list. Pvris & Miyavi’s Snakes is the other song, though that one falls 3-7.

The highest of the new entries goes to Emeli Sandé, as the British singer-songwriter has released a new single called Brighter Days. The happy Gospel-Pop song debuts at #2 and serves as the follow-up to Family, that charted for a few weeks on the Bubbling Under chart last Fall before finally making it onto the main charts a bit later, and there’s a chance it may be a similar situation for Brightest Days.

Newcomer Lizzy McAlpine not only scores her very first chart notation with Erase Me on the Singles Top40 this week, but she also gets two entries on the Bubbling Under chart. She just announced her upcoming album Five Seconds Flat for an early April release and three songs are already available, so while Erase Me clearly stands out so far, Doomsday (#3) and All My Ghosts (#4) make their impacts on the Bubbling Under chart for now.

Finnish Rock band The Rasmus are no strangers especially to European music fans, and now they will try to represent their country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 with Jezebel. The song starts at #5 and is very likely to move onto the main list soon. Gayle’s ur so horny (#6), Tove Styrke’s Show Me Love (#8), Nerds At Raves, Marc Korn & Just Mike feat. Jamie-Lee’s dance cover of Gayle’s abcdefu (#9) and Inna’s Lalele (#10) are the final debuts of the week. Special shoutout to Griff & Sigrid’s Head On Fire, which has been released this week as well but misses out to make an appearance on any list.

Singles Top40

2022 is definitely Grimes’ year so far! The Canadian mastermind has released her new single Shinigami Eyes this week and as expected, the singer keeps delivering and immediately scores another top hit through it. It’s also her ninth consecutive song to peak inside the Top2 and tenth doing so overall, out from 12 chart entries to date. Only her breakthrough hit Flesh Without Blood (#7 in late 2015, though it still got certified with Gold in the end) and California (#16 in mid 2016) didn’t end up this high on the charts. Shinigami Eyes was a very clear frontrunner this week and also becomes her fifth chart-topping hit, with all but one of them having made it to the top in their first weeks (Violence was the exception, as it rose 3-1 in its third week in 2019). Shinigami Eyes is likely to be the second single to Grimes’ upcoming album and follows-up Player Of Games, which only slips 7-8 in its eighth week in the Top10. Player Of Games is currently also the most successful song of 2022 so far, having a comfortable lead over its closest followers I Am Not A Woman, I’m A God by Halsey (down 18-29 this week) and Narben by Katja Krasavice & Marwin Balsters (out from #29).

Just like a week ago, two German artists are in the Top3 and while Leony’s Remedy dips 1-2, it’s Medieval Rock band Feuerschwanz that completes the Top3, but not with the Melissa Bonny assisted Ding that drops 2-5, but with Untot im Drachenboot, which rises 4-3 for a new peak.

Other new and re-entries this week: It may still take nearly two months until Charli XCX’s highly anticipated new album Crash comes out, but the singer keeps making impacts with it already now. Lead single Good Ones ended up with a great Top3 peak, good longevity, a Gold certification and a Top20 finish on the Year-End Charts 2021, her biggest success on her own and second biggest overall only behind her breakthrough on Icona Pop’s I Love It. Follow-up New Shapes with Christine And The Queens & Caroline Polachek may not have had the same staying power, but still peaked at #5 last Fall. Beg For You with Rina Sawayama serves as the third single now and gets a similar peak like these two, as it enters the charts at #4. It’s Charli’s 21st chart entry to date and continues her most successful streak ever, as prior Good Ones, she also scored her first number one hit with Out Out alongside Joel Corry, Jax Jones & Saweetie. As for Rina, the shooting star gets her sixth chart notation through this and second highest peaking one, as only her top hit Lucid from late 2020 made it further up the charts. A special shoutout also goes to September’s Cry For You, which was used as a sample for Beg For You. Cry For You was September’s first and only chart hit, as it peaked at #7 and stayed in the Top10 for six weeks in late 2008.

January is just about to be over, but 2022 already proves to be a good year in music. Following Aurora’s The Gods We Can Touch and Years & Years’ Night Call last week, there has been already a third album release this week that has been anticipated for months, as Motordrome by MŘ finally got released. The Danish singer had her breakthrough with the Platinum certified Lean On with Major Lazer & DJ Snake nearly seven years ago and following a break of three years, she finally returned with Live To Survive last summer. The song peaked at #5 and served as the lead single to Motordrome, which is also why it returns to #28 this week. Its follow-up Kindness debuted at #20 soon after and comes back to #24 now. Finally, MŘ also chose a brand new single to support the album release with New Moon, that scores the third highest debut of the week at #6. It becomes her lucky 13th chart entry overall and fifth to reach the Top10. Fellow Scandinavian Aurora also reaches the Top10 with A Temporary High at #9, a new single taken from The Gods We Can Touch. Since Everything Matters (12-15), A Dangerous Thing (16-20), Heathens (27-33) and Midas Touch (33-38) are all still charting, this brings her to five entries on the singles charts.

Two more new entries to go and they’re also not by strangers. First up is Brandi Carlile, who follows a rather unconventional strategy for her current album In These Silent Days. The lead single Right On Time already dropped in July, a half year ago but still nearly three months prior the album’s release. The song has several Grammy nominations but unfortunately, the album itself got released just one day after the submissions for the same Grammys ended - if released just one day or week earlier, the album may have several nominations as well. A half year later, it finally gets a second single with Broken Horses, that debuts at #12. It’s Brandi’s tenth entry on the singles charts and all peaked in the Top20. Finally, getting her 17th chart notation at #17 is Tove Lo with her new single How Long. While being part of the soundtrack to the series Euphoria, it’s still expected to see a new album by the Swedish singer soon, as it’s been nearly two and a half years since her fourth studio album Sunshine Kitty was released and two years was her longest gap between albums previously.

There are not many climbers on the charts this week, so AVAION, VIZE & Leony’s Pieces only moving 34-32 is already the biggest climber, while FKA twigs & The Weeknd’s Tears In The Club drops 19-34 as the biggest loser this week.

Album Top20

2022 just started and following the highly anticipated releases for Aurora and Years & Years last week, there’s already been the next highly anticipated with MŘ’s Motordrome this week. The Danish singer finally released her third studio album and while she already scored two hits through it last year, the album still performs better than initially expected and makes it all the way to the top this week. This is actually MŘ’s very first number one with singles included, and her third entry on the Album Top20 following the When I Was Young EP (#12 in 2017) and Forever Neverland (#5 in 2018).

The two high debuts from a week ago are also doing well this week, though while Aurora’s The Gods We Can Touch falls 1-3, Night Call by Years & Years holds up at #2 and was even a real contender for the top spot this week.

MŘ’s Motordrome may be the only new entry this week, but there’s also a little comeback as Brandi Carlile’s In These Silent Days returns to #16 due to the entry for Broken Horses on the Singles Top40.

Other talking points this week: It’s a good week for Bastian Baker, as his current album Stories Of The XXI reaches a new peak by going up 7-5 in its third charting week. It’s already the most successful entry ever for the Swiss singer now. It’s also a great week for Taylor Swift, as she still has three entries on the list and probably rather surprisingly, it’s Fearless (Taylor’s Version) that is her highest charting one by jumping 17-10. The album also gets certified with Gold this week, which means all of her 10 chart entries on the album charts are certified with Gold or more now. Her other two entries are also increasing with Red (Taylor’s Version) being just behind Fearless (14-11) while Evermore comes back up 20-14. Halsey’s If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power leaves the Top10 after being back for several weeks (10-12), now also tying her previous album Manic as her second longest charting album ever. Her second album Hopeless Fountain Kingdom is still far ahead with 49 weeks though. Last but not least, Christina Aguilera’s La Fuerza EP (9-18) and FKA twigs’ Caprisongs (11-19) can’t hold up well and have the biggest drops this week.

For a fifth consecutive week, Playground by Bea Miller tops the Bubbling Under chart rather easily. It’s definitely a missed opportunity that this was never promoted as an actual single so far as it could have been the singers biggest hit to date. While the soundtrack to Arcane: League Of Legends holds up well on the album charts as well, Playground is also not the only entry on the Bubbling Under chart from it, as Pvris & Miyavi’s Snakes keeps charting as well (7-8).

A bunch of new songs that were released this week didn’t quite stand out enough to enter the main chart so they settle down for this list instead. The highest of these is In Your Arms (For An Angel) at #2, a collaboration by Topic, Robin Schulz, Nico Santos and Paul Van Dyk. Other new releases were High, the comeback single by The Chainsmokers at #5, Anyone For You, the new lead single by George Ezra at #6, and You’ve Got To Let Go If You Want To Be Free by Disclosure & Zedd at #10.

There’s also a fifth new entry on this list, though it’s not a new single. Following the arrival for Years & Years’ Night Call on the album charts a week ago, Immaculate has become one of the albums standout and debuts at #4.

From what I saw juries aren't too keen on this, but Eesti Laul has this 100% televote superfinal made out of the top 3 songs in the Grand Final (both Victor Crone and Uku won Eesti Laul despite being ranked 8th-9th by the juries just on the back of a strong televote), so it's not all set in stone yet.

Singles Top40

All eyes are on Grimes for another week and a number one single hasn’t been that clear in the lead for a very long time, as Shinigami Eyes smashes and keeps being on heavy rotation. With just two weeks so far, Shinigami Eyes is already a very early contender for the song and video of the year. As for now, it already ties So Heavy I Fell Through The Earth from late 2019 as her longest running top hit, as her other top hits Violence, My Name Is Dark and Player Of Games only made it to one week each. And speaking of Player Of Games, Shinigami Eyes’ predecessor benefits from the success of the new single and moves back up 8-6.

Grimes’ biggest competition this week is MŘ, as the Danish singer jumps 6-2 with her current single New Moon. While it surpasses Final Song (#4 in 2016) as her highest peaking chart entry as a solo artist, it ties the Platinum certified Lean On by Major Lazer, where she was featured on, as her highest peaking song overall. She also keeps charting with Kindness, which is up 24-22, and Live To Survive, that drops 28-34.

Leony’s Remedy dips 2-3 and completes the Top3.

New entries this week: Eight debuts are on the charts this week and none of these made the Top10, but three of them were really close. The highest debut goes to Sofi Tukker, as the Dance duo released a new track called Original Sin that enters the charts at #11. It’s their first entry since Sun Came Up peaked at #26 in late summer 2021 and their 11th chart entry overall. They’re directly followed by fellow duo Lo & Leduc, as the Swiss Hip-Pop musicians are new at #12 with Häreta, the new single of their upcoming album Mercato. Even though the duo has already released a bunch of songs from the upcoming album, none of these made the charts expect Tribut, which peaked at #18 already over a year ago. Being their 12th chart notation ever, Häreta is also their third highest peaking one, as only Jung verdammt (#8 in 2015) and 079 (#2 in 2018) made it further. Finally, Tokio Hotel’s new single Bad Love was also close to make the Top10, as the song debuts at #13. There are another two Top20 entries with Doja Cat at #17, who chose Get Into It (Yuh) as the new single of her latest album Planet Her, and with Helene Fischer at #19, who chose Jetzt oder nie as the new single of her latest album Rausch.

Three more new entries to go, with Bastian Baker being next. The Swiss Pop singer has been doing really well with Stories Of The XXI on the album charts lately and now he finally gets an entry on the singles charts through the album as well, as The Way It Is debuts at #23. It’s only his fourth charts entry overall and immediately second highest peaking one, with Tattoo On My Brain being his most successful song to date and by far (#9 in 2015, ten weeks on the charts). He’s followed by Alok, who teamed up with Au/Ra on Side Effect (#24), while Calum Scott owns the final debut of the week for If You Ever Change Your Mind at #32.

Other talking points this week: Following an already good arrival a week ago, Broken Horses by Brandi Carlile rises 12-9 this week and already surpasses the peak position of her previous single Right On Time (#10 last summer). The song is Brandi’s seventh Top10 hit from ten chart entries overall. Also a special shoutout goes to Halsey’s I Am Not A Woman, I’m A God, that may leave the Top30 for its first time (29-33), but charts for a 23rd week and therefore surpasses Without Me as her longest charting song ever.

MŘ’s New Moon is the biggest climber while Faun’s Baldur drops 18-37 as the biggest loser this week.

Album Top20

2022 already produced several unexpected yet still clear top albums with Arcane: League Of Legends, Aurora’s The Gods We Can Touch and MŘ’s Motordrome, and the year keeps doing the same this week as it’s British group Bastille who takes the lead with their fourth studio album Give Me The Future. Just like it happened for Aurora and MŘ, Give Me The Future also becomes the very first chart topping entry for Bastille with singles included. With this arrival, it also breaks their downward trend, as they peaked at #4 with All This Bad Blood in 2014, their sophomore album Wild World peaked at #5 in 2016, Doom Days made it to #10 in 2019, while the Goosebumps EP just barely entered the charts at #19 in 2020. Overall, this makes Give Me The Future their fifth chart entry on the album charts and also already the fourth release to top the weekly charts in 2022.

MŘ’s Motordrome dips 1-2, while Years & Years’ Night Call slips 2-3 to complete the Top3.

Other new and re-entries this week: Japanese-American singer-songwriter Mitski owns the only other new entry this week, as her sixth studio album Laurel Hell arrives at #11. It’s her very first and only chart notation across all three charts so far. Besides Bastille’s and Mitski’s new arrivals, there’s also one re-entry and that goes to the unstoppable Taylor Swift. Her 2020 surprise album Folklore is back at #19, bringing her back to four entries on the charts, as she also keeps charting with Fearless (Taylor’s Version) (10-7) and Red (Taylor’s Version) (11-8), that both go back up again, while Folklore’s follow-up Evermore dips 14-15 as her final entry.

Other talking points this week: The upper half of the Album Top20 keeps being rather competitive with Aurora’s The Gods We Can Touch (3-4), Bastian Baker’s Stories Of The XXI (5-5), Arcane: League Of Legends (4-6), The Weeknd’s Dawn FM (7-9) and Inna’s Champagne Problems #DQH1 (6-10) all holding up really well. Special shoutout to Arcane: League Of Legends, as the soundtrack gets certified with Gold this week as the very first album that debuted in 2022 doing so.

Bubbling Under

The busiest list this week is probably the Bubbling Under chart for once, as all but one song are new entries on this list and for the first time in 2022, there’s also a new number one song. Bastille score their very first top album with Give Me The Future on the Album Top20 and while the Indie-Pop band has no entries on the singles charts, they top the Bubbling Under chart as well as album track Back To The Future immediately stands out as a big highlight (#1).

Their biggest competition are two new single releases that were very close to make the main chart. First up is Do We Have A Problem?, a collaboration by Nicki Minaj and Lil Baby at #2. The song only seems to be a first taste, as another duet by the two is already expected to drop next week. Italian’s Eurovision entry for 2022 was just chosen to be Brividi by Mahmood and Blanco. The former already represented Italy with Soldi back in 2019, where he came in second. The song debuts at #3 and is likely to move onto the main chart soon.

Tate McRae’s She’s All I Wanna Be (#5), Jax Jones & MNEK’s Where Did You Go? (#8) and Machine Gun Kelly & Willow’s Emo Girl (#9) are other new single releases from the week that settle down for the Bubbling Under chart for now.

Finally, another three new entries to go and they’re all linked to RuPaul’s Drag Race. The first international season called UK Vs. The World just started last week and as always with non regular seasons, the season kicked off with a Talent Show where the contestants had to show their talents and a few of them performed original songs. Three of these make the chart with Monique Heart’s Redemption (#6), Jujubee’s Back For More (#7) and Baga Chipz‘ Much Betta (#10).

The only remaining song from a week ago is Bea Miller’s Playground that falls 1-4 after five weeks atop the list.

Wohoo, congrats on making it to post-game! May I ask what your final team has been?
I feel the same as you when it comes to the games. They're good and I enjoy them a lot, but it definitely is a missed opportunity and they should've based these games on Platinum instead of just Diamond / Pearl. Thankfully I'm also not outraged by this but it seems like many fans are and everyone has been so excited for these remakes so yeah, this was yet another release that left many fans disappointed. As for my playthrough, I haven't played in a while It's somehow frustrating how quickly I get "over" playing a game, because I really didn't think this would happen this time but it did just like it happened with every generation or Pokémon game that has been released in the last decade. And it's not because the game is not good or so, it's just... I don't know, I guess I'm just not the biggest gamer anymore. But I will try to pick it up again asap, because originally I wanted to be done when Arceus gets released. I'm currently just before getting the seventh badge. My current team is Empoleon, Rampardos, Roserade, Honchkrow, Gallade and Pachirisu.

My final BD team = Hubris the Empoleon, Seraphy the Togekiss, Phantasm the Spiritomb, Shivers the Froslass, Astute the Lucario, and Mirage the Garchomp. Like you mentioned, I wanted to finish/get as far as I could before Legends: Arceus dropped, but I never got around to all the post-game rematches (like how the Elite 4 levels-up several times). Has Arceus rekindled your gaming enthusiasm at all? At first, I was a little overwhelmed by how different Arceus is to past main series games, but I've settled into an enjoyable rhythm now, and I get why people find the gameplay loop so addictive (always wanting to finish "just one more..." task). I've beaten two of the Nobles so far and should start exploring the third main area (Cobalt Coastlands) later today.

No, they're not from the same litter, but they were born just with one day apart from each other. Not yet, it's actually a very difficult decision because there are so many that we would love to get... I think we will end up visiting an animal shelter and will decide spontaneously.

I think their second album was their least impactful era anyways, so it's not too surprising to hear you didn't pay attention to it... I guess looking back, their third album was definitely some make or break moment and they did everything right with it and just kept getting better with each release ever since then (IMO at least). Them also having these ups and downs for you at least makes them interesting Yep, agreed. I'm still a bit sad how No didn't end up a bigger hit for them (or the whole Between Us era).

Yeah, the longevity of "Heartbreak Anthem" and success of "Kiss My (Uh Oh)" definitely over-shadowed their other Between Us singles. Even if it was more Anne-Marie's single than theirs, I think they should've given "Kiss My" a little more room to breathe before trying to push "Love (Sweet Love)" (granted, the pregnanices complicate promo plans too).

As for Olly being Years & Years or vice versa, I get you, it's also like if Adam Levine decides Maroon 5 is a solo project. Or Clean Bandit ending up just being one person who produces / does DJing. On one side it feels weird, but I get it on the other side, because I'm not sure with Olly himself made a big enough name to drop music, while everyone has heard about Years & Years and in the end, it's not his fault the other wanted to leave the group, right?

Or was it?? Ha, kidding, I haven't read anything like that, but I wouldn't be shocked if Olly's a bit of a diva/had the biggest ego of the group and wanted to have complete creative control.

Well yeah, it's nice so many people love the stuff from Avril's upcoming album so far but IMO they're not as strong as most of her previous stuff... I'm definitely having mixed feelings going into Love Sux for now, I thought the direction she was going for with Head Above Water suited her so well and she should've done another album with that direction.

Makes sense that the Love Sux sound shift would create some whiplash after HAW (well, other than "Dumb Blonde").

• At first, I thought "Shinigami Eyes" was just OK...and then it shot up to No.1 on my last chart too!
• I'm still a little underwhelmed by "Beg For You," though Both Charli and Rina are so creative, I'm surprised that it sounds SO similar to "Cry For You"/they didn't use the sample to create something more distinct and innovative. It's still fun, and I'm really glad it helped Charli score another UK Top 40, but it's probably my least favorite Crash track so far.
• Love that "Sooner Or Later" managed a Top 5 peak! I noticed that "Immaculate" made a Bubbling Under appearance, but any other Night Call standouts for you at this point?
• Thrilled that "Message In A Bottle" debuted inside your Top 10! It's easily my favorite of the "new" Red Vault tracks. You mentioned the remixes in your write-up when it debuted, so which version have you been playing the most?
