K/DA, Miley, Little Mix, Marina, Dua
BTS tho
Get into NCT (especially NCT 127) the much more superior K-Pop BG
Also no Blackpink in your area?
Any suggestions for NCT / NCT 127?
Blackpink were in my area, "The Album" went *2*-3-6-8-15-20-Out on my album charts. They're probably my favorite K-Pop artist at this point, but it's still a genre / direction I'm not too crazy about.
Cmon Golden!!
Such an unnecessary collab with Miley for Dua Lipa.
"Golden" is a great tune, but I'm not sure if it will climb much further on my charts, because I'm already a bit "over it" after having played it a lot when the album came out.
You think so? I really like "Prisoner". It's not among the better singles by both, but it still works

Singles Top40
Spoiler!
The days are getting shorter and the weather is getting colder, this is already the fourth last weekly chart that will count towards the Year-End Charts 2020. Surprisingly, it’s a very quiet week with just four new entries and one re-entry, and basically just one of the new entries was also a new release this week. But first things first and due to this being a rather quiet week, the Top4 stays exactly the same as a week ago and shows how strong it is. That means a second week atop the charts for Ava Max and My Head & My Heart, making Ava Max the first artist having three songs with multiple weeks atop the charts in 2020 and breaking the previous tie with Lady Gaga, who spent multiple weeks atop the charts with Rain On Me and 911 (Stupid Love only did one week). Overall, My Head & My Heart is only the tenth song with multiple weeks at number one this year so far. K/DA & Co.’s The Baddest (2-2), Within Temptation’s The Purge (3-3) and Miley Cyrus & Dua Lipa’s Prisoner (4-4) all hold up really well and all put up a good fight for the top spot this week.
The highest new entry comes in at #5 and is a totally unexpected one, as it’s Rina Sawayama and her brand new single Lucid. Rina released her debut album slightly over a half year ago and even though it peaked at #2 for three weeks and spawned three chart entries with STFU! (#24), Comme des garçons (Like The Boys) (#16) and XS (#9), all of those were rather short lived and had to leave the charts very quickly. Lucid therefor not only becomes her highest peaking entry on the Singles Top40, but also has the potential to be her first big hit.
Other new and re-entries this week: Miley Cyrus finally released her seventh studio album Plastic Hearts, which is also one of the reasons why Prisoner with Dua Lipa holds up well in the Top5. The album’s lead single Midnight Sky has been a top hit earlier this year, and gets an obvious boost through the album release now. Though between the time the song left the Top40 and now, Miley released a remix of Midnight Sky called Edge Of Midnight with Fleetwood Mac legend Stevie Nicks, that had no impact on the song itself back then but does have a huge influence now, which is why the remix is credited as well from now on. The song returns to #7, giving Miley two Top10 entries this week. Not two Top10s, but two of the new arrivals go to French singer and former Eurovision contestant Bilal Hassani. His second album Contré soirée is already charting for a fourth week on the Album Top20 but only gets its own entries on the Singles Top40 now, as Dead Bae debuts at #17 while Tom enters the charts at #31. He previously only made the Singles Top40 with his Eurovision song Roi (#5 last year). Last but not least, Carrie Underwood released a video for her song Hallelujah with John Legend, which is, by the way, an original song and not a cover of Leonard Cohen. The song debuts at #35.
Other talking points this week: A quiet week means that several songs stay very stable, with Sweet Melody by Little Mix (5-6), More by K/DA & Co. (6-8), Guardian by Lindsey Stirling (7-9), Let Down by Paris Jackson (12-12), Tout Paris by Zoé (15-15), Overload by Melanie C (26-26) or Til The Light Goes Out by Lindsey Stirling (32-33) being good examples. There are also some songs that climb up some spots, with Keiino returning to the Top10 with A Winter’s Night (11-10), Bebe Rexha & Doja Cat jumping back up into the upper half with Baby I’m Jealous (22-17), Keiino also recovering with Transarctic Lover (25-22), Harry Styles going up 27-23 with Golden or Clean Bandit still surviving with Tick Tock (35-32).
Bebe Rexha and Doja Cat’s Baby I’m Jealous is the biggest climber while Katja Krasavice drops 17-29 with Ich seh as the biggest loser this week.

Album Top20
Spoiler!
Even though we’re in the midst of the fourth quarter and therefor the busiest time of the year when it comes to new releases, there are just two new arrivals and two re-entries on the charts this week and one of them easily tops all other albums on the charts. Miley Cyrus finally released her long awaited seventh studio album Plastic Hearts and as it was expected, the set immediately debuts atop the Album Top20 this week. Plastic Hearts becomes Miley’s sixth consecutive number one album, having previously topped the charts with Can’t Be Tamed (8 weeks at #1 in 2010), Bangerz (7 weeks, 2013), Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz (one week, 2015), Younger Now (3 weeks, 2017) and She Is Coming (3 weeks, 2019), while the former Disney star also charted with Breakout (#7 in 2010) and The Time Of Our Lives (#2 in 2010).
Miley’s biggest competition were K/DA, as the group dips 1-2 with their All Out EP.
Other new and re-entries this week: The second and only other new arrival completes the Top3 at #3. Norwegian singer-songwriter Ane Brun has released her tenth studio album How Beauty Holds The Hand Of Sorrow that becomes her very first chart notation across all charts. 2020 already brought several Christmas albums onto the charts, in fact, Carrie Underwood, Dolly Parton, Tori Kelly, Meghan Trainor, Pentatonix and Divina De Campo all made appearances with their festive releases. Unfortunately, most of them didn’t hold up well on the chart, except for Carrie’s My Gift. Now that Christmas is coming nearer, there’s one Christmas release that makes a first re-entry this week, as Lindsey Stirling is back with Warmer In The Winter at #16. If none of the new Christmas sets comes back, the violinist may score the most successful Christmas album of the year for a fourth consecutive year. Finally, the other re-entry is Ellie Goulding’s latest album Brightest Blue at #19.
Other talking points this week: We're slowly moving towards the end of the year and that's why some highlights of 2020 are starting to recover again. While Nightwish and Lady Gaga move back up into the Top10 with their albums HUMAN. :||: NATURE. (11-8) and Chromatica (15-10), Grimes is up 13-12 with Miss Anthropocene. The latter even gets certified with 2x Platinum this week, being Grimes first multiple Platinum certification across all releases. Overall, the album charts stays rather calm, with BTS having the biggest drop for their album Be (2-9).

Bubbling Under
Spoiler!
It’s also a rather quiet week on the Bubbling Under chart, as just three new songs made it, with one of them being an album track and the other two being newly released singles.
Miley Cyrus not only has a stellar debut on the Album Top20 and two songs in the Top10 of the Singles Top40, she also owns the most successful song on the Bubbling Under chart as Plastic Hearts album track Night Crawling feat. Billy Idol debuts at #1. It’s the only track of Plastic Hearts to make an appearance so far.
Next to Miley are K/DA. The virtual girl group still goes strong and has three songs on the charts with Drum Go Dum (1-2), Villain (3-3) and I’ll Show You (5-7). Paloma Faith’s Monster (2-4), Sam Smith’s Dance (Til You Love Someone Else) (4-8), BTS’ Stay (6-9) and Little Mix’ Gloves Up (10-10) are also still charting.
The two other new entries are in the middle of the chart. First up is Jennifer Lopez, who released a new single called In The Morning. The song fails to make the main chart, but arrives at #5 on the Bubbling Under chart instead. Loredana also settles down for the Bubbling Under chart, as she debuts at #6 with Gangster, the fourth single of her upcoming second album Medusa.
. My Charts - week 49/2020 – 4 december 2020 - Lucid Hearts .
Singles Top40
Spoiler!
First things first with a new number one: Rina Sawayama scores her very first chart topper as Lucid improves 5-1 following its already high arrival a week ago. It’s not only her first chart topper, but was already her highest peaking song with its debut a week ago and as expected back then, Lucid really is on track to become Rina’s first big hit on My Charts.
There are a total of six new entries and two re-entries on the Singles Top40 this week, but the Top10 remains rather strong and just one of those new tracks made it there. While Rina rises to the top, Ava Max’ My Head & My Heart (1-2) and K/DA & Co.’s The Baddest (2-3) remain strong and complete the Top3.
The highest new entry makes it to #4 and it’s Yeah Right, the fourth single of The Bitter Truth, the upcoming new album by Evanescence. The band has been preparing the release of the album for a while now, as they started with Wasted On You in Spring 2020 (#6), followed it up with The Game Is Over in Summer (#7), scored a rather big hit with Use My Voice shortly after (#3) and with the arrival of Yeah Right this week, 2020 is the bands very first year when they scored more than three different chart entries on the Singles Top40.
Other new and re-entries this week: The second highest new arrival comes in at #13 and is called Monsters, a new single by All Time Low featuring Demi Lovato and blackbear. Even though the American Pop Punk band are no strangers to the charts especially in the UK and the US, Monsters becomes their very first chart notation on My Charts. As for blackbear, he already made two entries earlier this year on Ellie Goulding’s Worry About Me (#13 as well) and on Charlie Puth’s Hard On Yourself (#25). As for Demi, 2020 may not be her most successful year when it comes to scoring hits, but Monsters is already her seventh chart entry in 2020, making it her year with most chart entries ever. Not far below at #15 is David Guetta and his new single Dreams, a collaboration with MORTEN and Lanie Gardner. Being the first notation for the latter two, Dreams already becomes David’s impressive 31st chart entry. The Black Eyed Peas finally chose Girl Like Me with Shakira as their new single and get their first chart entry since mid 2011 with it, as the song debuts at #18 this week. Girl Like Me already topped the Bubbling Under chart earlier this year, when the band released their album Translation and the song stood out as a clear highlight. Au/Ra’s Moon River at #29 and Foxes’ Hollywood at #37 are the final two new arrivals this week.
The two re-entries both belong to Lindsey Stirling, as she comes back with two Christmas songs from her Christmas album Warmer In The Winter. First up is I Wonder As I Wander at #23, while Carol Of The Bells makes it back to #35. The latter was released back in 2017 and made it back to the charts in each season ever since, while I Wonder As I Wander was a single of the Warmer In The Winter re-release in 2018, where it was a big hit and spent five weeks atop the charts. With its re-entry this week, I Wonder As I Wander becomes Lindsey’s fourth song with 30 or more weeks on the charts following Crystallize (86 weeks), Shatter Me (42 weeks) and Take Flight (33 weeks).
Other talking points this week: Even though it broke their run of scoring #1 debuts, The Purge still proves to be a hit for Within Temptation and only dips 3-5 in its third week, compared to the 1-4-7 run of their previous single Entertain You. Miley Cyrus also keeps being really stable with her two singles, as Prisoner only slips 4-6 while Midnight Sky / Edge Of Midnight even stays 7-7. Following the release of Shawn Mendes’ fourth album Wonder, his current single Monster with Justin Bieber also benefits and reaches a new peak by rising 20-12. This is Shawn’s highest notation since peaking at #2 with his Gold certified hit Youth in mid 2018. There are also good news for Bilal Hassani, who jumps 19-14 with Dead Bae also also reaches a new peak with Tom (31-28). Last but not least, Christmas is coming and therefor it’s less of a surprise to see Carrie Underwood & John Legend’s Hallelujah leaving half of the charts behind by soaring 35-20.
The just mentioned Hallelujah by Carrie Underwood & John Legend is the biggest climber while Harry Styles drops 23-36 with Golden as the biggest loser this week.

Album Top20
Spoiler!
At first it looked like this week would be a normal one when it comes to new and re-entries, but out of a sudden and due to some unexpected releases, it’s the complete opposite and an extremely busy week, as six new arrivals and two re-entries are on the charts this week. Despite all that, Miley Cyrus defends the top spot and scores a second week there with her latest album Plastic Hearts. Besides Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz in 2015, all of her chart-topping releases spent multiple weeks atop the charts now.
Miley’s biggest competition were two of the new arrivals this week, and both already scored at least a number one album in the past. Still, the gap between Miley and both of those new entries was actually not even small, as Miley had a very strong first full week with Plastic Hearts. It’s the opposite with the two new arrivals, as in the case of Shawn Mendes, the Canadian has failed to get a proper hit on the Singles Top40 so far but still makes a good debut with his fourth album Wonder at #2. It’s his third entry so far following Illuminate (#9 in 2016) and Shawn Mendes (#1 in 2018). The other high debut goes to Romanian Dance-Pop queen Inna and her surprise release Heartbreaker. The set is new at #3, being an improvement over the #5 peaking Yo from early 2019, but still her second lowest peaking album ever, as I Am The Club Rocker (#2 in 2011), Party Never Ends (#1 in 2013), Body And The Sun (#2 in 2015), Inna (#2 in 2015) and Nirvana (#1 in 2017) all peaked in the Top2 for her.
Other new and re-entries this week: There may be tons of new releases this week, but rather surprisingly, there’s just one more besides Shawn and Inna that makes the upper half and that’s Tori Amos’ Christmastide EP at #7. The songstress may be in the music business for decades, but only made her first notation with her fifteenth studio album Native Invader in 2017 (#1 for one week) while Christmastide EP becomes her second notation now. Another new Christmas EP finds its way to #14 and it’s called Here We Come A-Caroling. It’s a new EP by the Medieval Folk band Blackmore’s Night and also becomes their first chart entry since 2017, when their best of To The Moon And Back peaked at #9. The band is expected to drop a new studio album in early 2021. They’re just one spot above Carrie Underwood at #15, who re-enters the charts with her Christmas album My Gift. Again just one spot below at #16 is Argentine actress and singer Martina Stoessel, or also known as Tini, with her third album Tini Tini Tini. It’s her third chart entry following her first two albums Tini (#6 in 2016) and Quiero Volver (#8 in 2018). Rina Sawayama’s debut album Sawayama returns to #18 following a re-release while Bastille own the final debut of the week as they barely made it to #19 with their new Goosebumps EP.
Other talking points this week: Since most new and re-entries are rather low, Nightwish actually jump back up 8-5 with HUMAN. :||: NATURE.. Lady Gaga also improves a bit with Chromatica (10-9), both being two of the biggest albums of the year. Meanwhile, even though Sam Smith’s Love Goes (4-8) and Ariana Grande’s Positions (5-10) fall down a bit, both albums still get certified with Gold this week. It’s just Sam’s second record doing so following their debut In The Lonely Hour, while it’s already Ariana’s eighth album to get a certification. Christmas it not only coming nearer with some new and re-entries this week, but also with Lindsey Stirling, who rises 16-12 with Warmer In The Winter. Meanwhile, Little Mix have to leave the upper half for the first time with Confetti (6-13). Last but not least, there also needs to be a shoutout to BTS’ Be (ex #9) and Grimes’ Miss Anthropocene (ex #12), both having the most shocking drops out of the charts.

Bubbling Under
Spoiler!
Miley Cyrus not only defends the top on the Album Top20, but her latest album Plastic Hearts is also responsible for the most entries on the Bubbling Under chart this week. While the Billy Idol assisted Night Crawling gets a second week at #1, Miley gets additional entries with Gimme What I Want at #2, album opener WTF Do I Know at #3 and the title track Plastic Hearts at #4.
Miley’s biggest competition on the Bubbling Under chart also came from Shawn Mendes, just like on the Album Top20. Higher proves to be a first standout on Shawn’s new album Wonder and enters the charts at #5.
The fifth and last new entry goes to Australian singer-songwriter Amy Shark, who just announced her second album Cry Forever for a late April 2021 release. While its first two singles Everybody Rise and C’mon made the main chart, the also just newly released All The Lies About Me has to settle down for a #9 debut on the Bubbling Under chart for now.
K/DA still do very well with Villain (3-6), Drum Go Dum (2-7) and I’ll Show You (7-10), while Paloma Faith owns the final entry with Monster (4-8).
Nice to see that we both share the same #1 this week with Rina's latest single. Rina is certainly carving out a reputation for herself as being the Queen of all genres this year! Her self titled debut is quite a rollercoaster ride style wise, especially with Lucid included on the deluxe version, but somehow she makes it work. The comparison to GaGa's Rain On Me is merited given that both tracks were produced by the same guy, but I prefer the melody of Lucid more actually. Time will tell if this surpasses XS as my favourite song from her.
I just noticed we have the same #1 album as well! Another nice surprise! I really enjoyed Midnight Sky from my first listen, but didn't really have many expectations for this project as I'm not really a Miley 'fan' as such. I just like a couple of her songs from here and there. Anyway, the album is great and have really enjoyed this musical direction for her. It seems like we connected to the same songs as my favourites are both sitting at #1 and #2 on your bubbling under charts.
Final comment is for the Ane Brun appearance on your albums chart. I was aware of her thanks to her collaboration with French producer/DJ The Avener but, like you, it was really my participation in the Album Cup that gave me the opportunity to delve deeper into her discography. I haven't yet checked out the album you've charted, I'm still digesting After The Great Storm which she also released this year which is exactly the kind of style I love from her. Looking forward to checking out How Beauty Holds... soon!
Still one of the most eclectic and interesting personal charts here - I'm still finalising my Personal Chart of The Year list, so I will be participating don't worry!
I'm actually shocked how well "Kings & Queens" is doing considering its performance on the US Spotify charts. But yeah, I'm not mad at this being so successful mainly due to its airplay now. I think this could even outpeak "Sweet But Psycho", as it never went higher than #10 on the Hot 100. With that said, following being such a stan for Ava during the whole 2020, I got over her stuff so quickly once the album finally came out. Do you have similar feelings [if you checked her album out]?
With all the holiday songs racing up the Hot 100 now, it looks like "Kings & Queens" missed its chance at a Top 10 peak Still, No. 13 DEFINITELY exceeded my expectations after the way everything else since "Sweet But Psycho" failed to take off at all in the US. Heaven & Hell isn't on the same level as Chromatica, Folklore, and SAWAYAMA as my absolute biggest albums of the year, but it's still Top 10 overall. Sometimes "basic"/surface-level upbeat pop like H&H can have a faster burnout rate (whereas Chromatica & SAWAYAMA, while also upbeat, delve into deeper themes against a dancey backdrop). The past few months have been pretty packed with other noteworthy album releases (Positions, DISCO, Confetti, Plastic Hearts, and more), so all that new competition might've hurt H&H's longevity too.
Oh... Somehow I thought you really enjoyed "Wow" when it originally got released, but I guess I mixed it up with another song.
No worries - it makes sense that it's harder to remember what I love since I stopped posting my chart (and I visit less often in general). I was really into "All The Time" (a multi-week-No. 2 smash on my chart), so you might've been mixing "Wow" up with that one.
Yes to your love for "Motive" <3 Easily my fave on the album and a much better single choice for sure. I'm surprised they actually went with "34+35" to go along the album release, when they had "Motive" ready. Plus it seems like "POV" is taking off due to TikTok challenges. This seems to be a messy era for her, but I'm glad she released yet another great album. I still may rank this as my second least favorite album of hers so far... how do you feel about "Positions" (the album)?
Eh, the overall consistency of Positions definitely works against it for me (too mellow/mid-tempo and samey). It's not awful, just not very engaging or memorable either. It'll almost certainly end up as my least-played Ari album.
#1 will be tough to achieve, but "Sweet Melody" is surely in the race of becoming my most favorite Little Mix track ever. Pop at its best to me - and I really enjoy the whole album, which also may become my favorite album by them soon. Somehow I didn't feel "Holiday" and "Break Up Song" that much when they were released as singles, but the album release definitely made me appreciate them more. Can't wait to hear your thoughts about "Confetti" once you checked it out
The singles and preview tracks had me thinking Confetti would be all-out-pop, so I was a little surprised to come across several R&B-leaning tracks that remind me more of their previous era (the title track, "Gloves Up," "Rendezvous"). My favorites (of the songs I hadn't already heard) are "A Mess (Happy 4 U)" and "Nothing But My Feelings."
Yes, that was unlucky for Sam. But they still delivered a great body of work, I'm even sure I'll call "Love Goes" my favorite album by Sam ever in 2-3 weeks. I just love it. If you don't want to check out the full album, I'd recommend you to listen to "Dance (Til You Love Someone Else)" which is by far my fave on the album and an absolute banger <3
...and yes, agreed about "Diamonds". Though it's about to reach the Top10 in the UK this week and keeps rising on some other charts as well, so there's still some hope that it may still become a hit for Sam in the US as well.
Many thanks for the Samggestion! Slightly annoying that "Diamonds" stalled at No. 11 in the UK right before the holiday blizzard hit but I'm glad it at least cracked the Hot 100 Top 40.
All hail Queen Rina I'm not sure if "Lucid" will spend any time atop my chart, but I'm definitely enjoying it, and I love to see Rina connecting with you more than ever before!
Ava continues to be a multi-week-monster on your chart! Almost all of her singles have clicked with you in a BIG way, but I guess something's just lacking with the rest of H&H?
I was pretty unimpressed with "Prisoner" at first...and then it jumped No. 12 ---> No. 1 on my last chart.
Glad that the Stevie Nicks remix has given "Midnight Sky" a major second wind here! I still prefer the original, but I like the duet version a lot too. Miley's collaborator choices for Plastic Hearts were really on-point!
Yet another chart that's a dream come true, Tancel!
Yeah, we really have some similarities in our charts this (or last) week <3
Rina's "Lucid" really caught me by surprise, because I didn't expect her to release such a pure Pop banger. It's very "Rain On Me", which I loved, so I'm totally here for that direction for Rina. "XS" is a great pick for your personal fave, and I actually really enjoyed the rollercoaster ride on her debut, but "Lucid" is still already my most favorite song by her after just two weeks.
So glad to hear you're enjoying "Plastic Hearts" that much even though you never were a fan of hers! I stan her since her Disney days So it's always nice to see people who were casual listeners to her music also enjoying full albums. Even better that we share some faves there
Ha, it's the opposite with me when it comes to Ane... I read about "After The Great Storm", but never checked it out so far, so "How Beauty Holds..." is my first album by Ane and it's gorgeous. Gonna check out "After The Great Storm" during Christmas week
Agreed on "Kings & Queens" - at first it didn't even reach the Hot 100, so reaching #13 after all these weeks was amazing to see and as you say, it's only her second appearance there while "Sweet But Psycho" 'only' peaked at #10 (while #1 everywhere else). Very cool to hear that "Heaven & Hell" made such a strong impression to you and ranks among your favorite albums of the year!
Side note: Talking about all those albums, I'm really anticipating all the Year-End countdowns this year! 2020 was a great year in music IMO, do you think so too?
No worries - it makes sense that it's harder to remember what I love since I stopped posting my chart (and I visit less often in general). I was really into "All The Time" (a multi-week-No. 2 smash on my chart), so you might've been mixing "Wow" up with that one.
Yes, it probably was "All The Time" that was in my head.
Speaking of your personal charts... I still miss them!
Eh, the overall consistency of Positions definitely works against it for me (too mellow/mid-tempo and samey). It's not awful, just not very engaging or memorable either. It'll almost certainly end up as my least-played Ari album.
That's my feelings, too. Though I already felt similar when "Thank U, Next" came out, I even liked that one less than "Positions", but her tour made me enjoy it way more.
So this sounds more like you're having mixed feelings for "Confetti"? After those weeks, I have to admit that it's by far my most favorite album by them. I was just a casual listener who checked their albums out before, but this time I'm really 'feeling' them. "Sweet Melody" has also become my most favorite song by them.
Many thanks for the Samggestion! Slightly annoying that "Diamonds" stalled at No. 11 in the UK right before the holiday blizzard hit but I'm glad it at least cracked the Hot 100 Top 40.
<3
Yes, that really is annoying. It should have been WAY bigger, but same was already the case with "How Do You Sleep?". A shame Sam can't really connect with the people anymore, like they did during their debut era.
So how would you rank "Lucid" among the Rina songs? Somewhere in the middle, I guess?
Yes, Ava is one of the biggest hitmakers from the last year (if not even THE biggest), but somehow the album was very short lived with me. I don't even know why, because I love several album tracks (especially "Born To The Night", "Rumors" and "Belladonna"). But I guess it has to do that there were already seven singles that were very successful with me = I already played them a lot and got sick of them rather quickly again when the album finally dropped. Plus "Naked" is my least favorite song on the album, so a completely wrong single choice to go with the album release. Additionally, the last few weeks were incredibly busy with so many new albums, so I was more interested in playing them than playing an album where I already played half of the songs to death months before it came out...
OMG congrats to Miley & Dua for that Paulboard #1 <3 I'm not even sure anymore how Miley did on your charts, but iirc she's definitely not as big as Selena Gomez, right?
Anyways, I was lowkey disappointed with "Prisoner" at first as well - I mean, it's Miley AND Dua - but the song is sooo catchy and I'm really enjoying it now.
Glad you enjoy the Stevie Nicks remix of "Midnight Sky" as well and agreed on her collaborations Talking about the album, how do you feel about "Plastic Hearts"?

Singles Top40
Spoiler!
12 new entries and one re-entry found their ways to the Singles Top40 this week, making it a rather busy week. Despite that, the competition atop the charts was not the strongest this week and that was the perfect timing for Taylor Swift, who dropped yet another surprise album. The superstar’s ninth studio album is called Evermore and alongside its unexpected release, Taylor also chose Willow as the albums lead single and scores her eighth top hit with it. The last time Taylor topped the singles charts was over three years ago, when Look What You Made Me Do and …Ready For It? became her sixth and seventh top hits within just three weeks. Folklore, Taylor’s surprise album from July, spawned the #2 peaking Exile (feat. Bon Iver) and the #4 peaking Cardigan.
Besides Taylor, there are no surprises in the Top3 as Rina Sawayama dips 1-2 with Lucid and Ava Max slips 2-3 with My Head & My Heart.
Other new and re-entries this week: Taylor Swift’s Evermore is one of three new arrivals on the Album Top20 this week, and the other two also bring some entries on the Singles Top40 this week. The Drag Queen trio Frock Destroyers have the lowest debut on the album charts, but score the second highest entry on the Singles Top40 as their Break Up Bye Bye arrives at #5. The song was originally released as part of the first season of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK a year ago and even made the UK Singles Charts back then, the album release finally brings it onto My Charts as well. Swiss-Albanian rapper Loredana owns the third and final entry on the album charts and scores three entries at once on the singles charts, as she debuts at #17 with Kein Hunger feat. Ufo361, at #19 with Gangster and comes back to #23 with her Gold certified hit Checka with Delara.
The remaining eight new entries had nothing to do with new album releases, but the next in line is at least preparing an album release: Madison Beer. The American singer has announced Life Support for a while now and finally put out a release date: February 2021! Boyshit serves as its new single and debuts at #12, already being her second highest charting song ever, only behind the #5 peaking More by K/DA (down 10-15 this week). Also making the upper half is Troye Sivan, who collaborated with Kacey Musgraves and Mark Ronson on a new remix of his song Easy. The original track never made it onto the charts, but the remix makes it to #18 this week.
Before becoming a huge star in the music business, Ariana Grande was a big part of the Nickelodeon show Victorious. The main role was played by Victoria Justice, who failed to get a similar career and only released one single called Gold (#10 in mid 2013). Over seven years later, Victoria finally tries it again and released a new single called Treat Myself that debuts at #24 this week. That’s just one spot above Noah Cyrus’ new single All Three (#25). It’s been just two weeks since No Other Way left the Top40, but Shaed are already back with a new single called Once Upon A Time, starting at #30. The final three debuts are Gwen Stefani, who disappoints with her new single Let Me Reintroduce Myself at #35, Country singer Lauren Alaina, who teamed up with Danish group Lukas Graham on What Do You Think Of? at #36, and Drag Race star Jujubee, who just made it to #39 with the Christmas single Together Alone.
Other talking points this week: Shawn Mendes and Justin Bieber both struggled to get back to their big hit days lately, but it looks like their collaboration Monster gets them back on track, as the song jumps 12-7 this week, reaching yet another new peak. This is Shawn’s highest peaking song since Youth peaked at #2 in mid 2018, and already ties In My Blood as his second highest peaking song ever. Meanwhile, Monster becomes Justin’s highest peaking chart entry since the #3 peaking Let Me Love You from nearly four and a half years ago. Another important jump on the charts goes to The Black Eyed Peas, Shakira and their song Girl Like Me, as it surges 18-9 following its arrival a week ago. This makes Girl Like Me already the second highest peaking entry for The Black Eyed Peas ever, as they only peaked higher with the #2 peaking Meet Me Halfway (2010) and Just Can’t Get Enough (2011), while Shakira hasn’t been this high since Chantaje (#5 in late 2016). From good news to rather bad news, as all Christmas entries on the charts are weirdly falling down this week. While A Winter’s Night by Keiino (9-14), Hallelujah by Carrie Underwood & John Legend (20-26), I Wonder As I Wander by Lindsey Stirling (23-29) and Holiday by Lil Nas X (25-34) are still charting, Lindsey’s Carol Of The Bells (ex #35) already leaves the chart. Last but not least, there are also two new Gold certifications, one for Ariana Grande’s Positions (16-27), the other one for Marina Kaye’s The Whole 9 (30-37).
The Black Eyed Peas & Shakira’s Girl Like Me is the biggest climber while Evanescence already drop 4-21 with Yeah Right as the biggest loser this week.

Album Top20
Spoiler!
For a second time this year, Taylor Swift put out a surprise album this week and it’s called Evermore. Her previous surprise album Folklore was a big hit, having topped the charts for four consecutive weeks during Summer, though it only debuted at #2. Folklore lost its first week against Ellie Goulding, who topped the album charts for a second week with Brightest Blue as it had its first full week and got even stronger due to that. It’s a similar situation this week, as Taylor’s surprise album obviously had no hit single to increase the anticipation, while Miley Cyrus is still going very strong with Plastic Hearts. In the end, it’s Miley Cyrus who gets a third consecutive week atop the charts for her album, not only making Plastic Hearts the third longest running number one album of the year alongside Grimes’ Miss Anthropocene, the album also joins Younger Now and She Is Coming to become Miley’s own third longest running number one album.
But back to Taylor and her ninth studio album Evermore. Just like Folklore, Evermore also debuts at #2 with potential of topping the charts next week. Overall, Evermore becomes Taylor’s eighth chart entry, with only her second studio album (and first chart entry) Fearless (#5 in 2010) and her sixth album Reputation (#3 in 2017) having lower peaks so far. They’re also Taylor’s least successful albums overall, not only by chart peaks.
At first it looked like there’s just one big new arrival this week, and that one completes the Top3 now. Swiss-Albanian rapper Loredana has released her second album Medusa, the follow-up to last years debut King Lori. Her debut debuted and peaked at #7, and Medusa immediately does better by arriving at #3.
Other new entries this week: There were no re-entries and just one more new entry on the charts this week. Coming in at #4 is Frock4life, the debut album by Frock Destroyers. Frock Destroyers is a trio consisting of Baga Chipz, Blu Hydrangea and Divina De Campo, who all participated on the first season of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK a year ago and they had to create this group for a challenge on the show back then. Due to the success of their single Break Up Bye Bye on the UK charts, they decided to record a whole album and while this is a first notation for Baga Chipz and Blu Hydrangea, Divina already made appearances with her EP’s Decoded (#4 a year ago) and Red & Silver (#18 just three weeks ago).
Other talking points this week: The surprising success of virtual group K/DA continues as their All Out EP gets certified with Gold this week, falling 4-7 in its sixth week. Similar to the Singles Top40, most Christmas releases are also going down on the Album Top20 with Tori Amos’ Christmastide EP (7-9), Lindsey Stirling’s Warmer In The Winter (12-13) and Carrie Underwood’s My Gift (15-16), though Blackmore’s Night go against the stream and score their fifth Top10 album as the Here We Come A-Caroling EP climbs 14-10. Last but not least, Love Goes by Sam Smith (8-14), Positions by Ariana Grande (10-17) and Confetti by Little Mix (13-18) all experience rather big drops this week, though they may go back up again in a less busy time next year.

Bubbling Under
Spoiler!
Miley Cyrus still rules the Bubbling Under chart with some album tracks from her latest album Plastic Hearts, though there’s still a change atop the list as Gimme What I Want rises 2-1 and dethrones the Billy Idol assisted Night Crawling (1-2). Album opener WTF Do I Know holds on to #3 for a second week while the album’s title track dips 4-6.
Even though the release of Loredana’s second album Medusa was anticipated and since Taylor Swift also dropped her surprise album Evermore, it’s rather surprising how both don’t have an entry on the Bubbling Under chart. Instead it’s the Frock Destroyers who not only have a high entry on the Singles Top40 with Break Up Bye Bye, but they also have two entries on the Bubbling Under chart with Big Ben at #4 and Her Majesty at #8.
Twenty One Pilots own the second highest new entry, as their first Christmas single Christmas Saves The Year debuts at #5. With Christmas coming nearer, the track may move onto the main chart soon.
Tokio Hotel’s new single Berlin (#7) and Drag Race contestant Miz Cracker with Eight Days Of You (featuring fellow Drag Race contestant Jujubee, #9) and with Get Me The F%#$ Out Of Here (#10) complete the Bubbling Under chart this week.
. My Charts - week 51/2020 – 18 december 2020 - December for Evermore .
Singles Top40
Spoiler!
Just a week before Christmas, it’s a very quiet week with just four new entries and one re-entry. More shockingly, Christmas has its smallest impact in years. In previous years, there were several Christmas songs near the top of the charts at this point, while this year, Keiino’s A Winter’s Night (14-19), Lil Nas X’ Holiday (34-29) and Carrie Underwood & John Legend’s Hallelujah (26-35) are all far from being big hits, and Lindsey Stirling already leaves the charts with I Wonder As I Wonder (ex #29). But this gives enough space for regular songs to shine and even though there are not many new releases this week, one still stood out the most and scores a top debut: Once Upon December by Blackmore’s Night.
Blackmore’s Night is a traditional Folk-Rock band that does a Renaissance / Medieval style of Folk Rock which is a rather special kind of genre. The band mainly consists of the two lead members Ritchie Blackmore and Candice Night, the former being a founding member of Deep Purple, and the latter contributing the vocals and also being Ritchie’s wife. Following the release of their Here We Come A-Caroling EP just two weeks ago, the band has announced the release of their 11th studio album Nature’s Light for later next year, with Once Upon December being its lead single. With its arrival at #1 this week, Once Upon December becomes their fifth chart entry and second top hit following Will O’ The Wisp, which topped the charts for two weeks in late 2015 as their previous chart entry prior Once Upon December.
Taylor Swift’s Willow (1-2) and Rina Sawayama’s Lucid (2-3) complete the Top3, with My Head & My Heart by Ava Max (3-4) and K/DA & Co.’s The Baddest (4-5) still being close to the top as well.
Other new and re-entries this week: The second highest new entry also makes the Top10 and comes from German YouTube star Katja Krasavice. The singer is still preparing the release of her upcoming second studio album Eure Mami and just released its third single called Alles schon gesehen. The first two singles Million Dollar A$$ (#9) and Ich seh (#17) both reached the Top20, but only charted for two weeks each which was rather underwhelming since her debut album Bo$$ Bitch spawned the Gold certified hit Casino at the beginning of 2020. Alles schon gesehen has the chance to get Katja back on track, as it makes a better first impression and debuts at #7 this week. The other two new arrivals just miss out on the Top20 and are both coming from new album releases. First up is K-Pop singer Taeyeon, who released a new EP called What Do I Call You. Its title track also serves as the lead single and arrives at #23, the exact same position like her previous lead single #GirlsSpkOut reached just a few weeks ago. Rap legend Eminem surprise-released a Side B version of his latest album Music To Be Murdered By and scores an entry on the singles charts with Gnat at #25. That’s a bit lower than the #23 peak of Darkness, the only chart notation from the original album at the beginning of 2020.
The one re-entry goes to Swiss-Albanian rapper Loredana. Her second album Medusa dropped last week and has even more impact this week, as Rockstar is back at #34, in addition to Gangster jumping 19-6, Kein Hunger dipping 17-20 and Checka only moving 23-24.
Other talking points this week: Loredana is not the only artist who scores a new Top10 single, as Madison Beer does the same with Boyshit (12-9). The song is her second Top10 entry following her collaboration on K/DA’s More (15-21 this week). From many good news to probably the best news, as for the first time in a while, Miley Cyrus’ Midnight Sky / Edge Of Midnight mix gets certified with Platinum this week (down 10-15). This makes it Miley’s first Platinum certified single as a lead artist since her biggest hit days ended with Adore You in 2014. Miley also keeps doing well with the Dua Lipa assisted hit Prisoner (6-8). Last but not least, former Disney star Victoria Justice scores her second Top20 hit with Treat Myself (24-17).
Loredana’s Gangster is the biggest climber while Evanescence’ Yeah Right drops 21-32 as the biggest loser for a second week in a row, though it’s tied with Shawn Mendes & Justin Bieber’s Monster this week (7-18).

Album Top20
Spoiler!
Just like the singles charts, the Album Top20 also is a rather quiet one this week with just two new arrivals - one of them being a surprise release - and two re-entries. None of those were strong enough to change something at the top, as the three most successful albums are still the same like a week ago, though in a slightly different order. Just like she did with Folklore, Taylor Swift also rises to the top following her first full week with Evermore (2-1). Evermore becomes Taylor’s sixth number one album, following Speak Now (five weeks), Red, 1989, Lover (all one week each) and the just mentioned Folklore (four weeks), that also makes a re-entry at #18 this time. With Evermore topping the charts this week, Taylor has spent a lucky 13 weeks atop the charts across all of her albums.
Miley Cyrus’ Plastic Hearts dips 1-2 after three weeks atop while Loredana’s Medusa stays at #3.
Other new and re-entries this week: The higher of the two new entries goes to Rap legend Eminem and his surprise release Music To Be Murdered By - Side B. Side A, or as it was called Music To Be Murdered By, was released in January 2020 as a surprise release as well and debuted & peaked at #4 back then, with Side B doing slightly worse by arriving at #6. Overall, this Side B becomes Eminem’s fourth chart entry, with the other two being Revival (#3 in 2018) and Kamikaze (#8, in 2018 as well). The second and already last debut goes to K-Pop star Taeyeon and her fourth mini album called What Do I Call You at #8. She just peaked at #8 with the #GirlsSpkOut EP just a few weeks ago, both being currently her lowest peaking albums out of six chart entries in total. The second and also already final re-entry is Grimes’ Miss Anthropocene at #19.
Other talking points this week: Ane Brun makes an unexpected jump back up the charts as How Beauty Holds The Hand Of Sorrow soars 11-4 this week, nearly matching its peak at #3 from three weeks ago. Blackmore’s Night also have a big increase, as their Here We Come A-Caroling EP is up 10-5. Two spots below are Nightwish, also moving up with their album HUMAN. :||: NATURE. (8-7). The album also gets certified with 3x Platinum this week, being their second album doing so following the 2011 album Imaginaerum. Another big certification - 2x Platinum - goes out to Lady Gaga’s Chromatica, even though it’s falling 12-17 this week. It’s already her sixth album getting this certification, following The Fame, The Fame Monster, Born This Way, Artpop and Joanne. Besides Blackmore’s Night and just like it is on the singles charts, Christmas albums are also still on their ways down with Tori Amos falling 9-13 with Christmastide EP while Lindsey Stirling’s Warmer In The Winter (ex #13) and Carrie Underwood’s My Gift (ex #16) already leave the charts completely, just a week before Christmas. Last but not least, Bilal Hassani’s Contre soirée (15-14) and Little Mix’ Confetti (18-15) are also able to move up a bit in the lower half of the charts.
