Chanel's new one is actually quite catchy, probably her best since SloMo for me.
Glad you like these two - Jessie's album is definitely one of the betters from 2023 <3 Vesna, if you enjoy My Sister's Crown, you should check out their new EP, it's good!
Hmm yeah I agree about P.M. being her best since SloMo but to be fair, that wasn't difficult to achieveOne of way too many cases of someone having such a huge hit during Eurovision, but not being able to follow that up properly.

Bubbling Under
Spoiler!Besides Sudden Lights’ Aijā (1-9) that represented Latvia but missed out on the Grand Final, there are no actual Eurovision entries on the Bubbling Under chart, but it’s still also impacted by the contest as three more Eurovision related artists make their debuts. First up is Vesna, the Czechian band represented their country at this years contest with My Sister’s Crown and just on time, they also released a new EP called Muzika. The EP not only debuts high on the album charts, but with the song Płakały, it owns a clear highlight that also makes it all the way to the top of the Bubbling Under chart this week.
Bilal Hassani represented France in 2019 and his new single Iconic starts at #4, while Chanel represented Spain in 2022 and comes in at #6 with P.M..
The second and third highest debuts on the list are more shockingly, as they’re both by artists who usually debut on the main chart rather easily and most of the times even in or close to the Top10. First is Zara Larsson, as the Swedish hitmaker finally released a follow-up to her hit Can’t Tame Her with End Of Time, though she settles down for #2 on this list for now. She’s followed by Lana Del Rey, who put out a new track called Say Yes To Heaven that arrives at #3.
Kylie Sonique Love’s True Colors debuts at #7, PNAU, Bebe Rexha & Ozuna’s Stars is new at #8, while Post Malone owns the final debut with Mourning at #10. Ashley Tisdale’s Insomnia (3-5) completes the chart.
With The National feat. Taylor Swift’s The Alcott, Miley Cyrus’ Jaded, (G)I-dle’s Allergy, Hozier’s Francesca, Kelly Clarkson’s Favorite Kind Of Hight, Robin Schulz & Fil Bo Riva’s Killer Queen and Maroon 5’s Middle Ground, there have been several more new singles this week that were close to making appearances.

Album Top20
Spoiler! The Eurovision hype also continues on the Album Top20, where the compilation for the contest spends its fifth non-consecutive week atop and therefore ties Ava Max’ Diamonds & Dancefloors as the longest running number one album of the year now. It joins the compilations from the 2021 and 2022 editions as the longest running compilations ever and it will be very interesting to see if the 2023 edition can break both records next week. Additionally, the compilation also gets certified with Gold this week.
The highest of a total of six new entries comes in at #2 with Gag Order, the fifth studio album by Kesha. Following a surprising top hit in its lead single Eat The Acid, the arrival at #2 is a big improvement over its predecessor High Road that peaked at #7 in early 2020. Before these two, all of Kesha’s releases topped the charts with Animal (four weeks in 2010), Cannibal (one week in 2010), Warrior (two weeks in 2012) and Rainbow (one week in 2017).
There are two more entries fueled by the Eurovision Song Contest and the first of the two completes the Top3: Vesna represented Czechia at the contest with My Sister’s Crown and also just put out a new EP called Muzika, that enters the chart at #3. While just an acoustic version of My Sister’s Crown made the EP, its high debut is mostly fueled by the track Płakały that scores a very high arrival on the Bubbling Under chart.
Other new entries this week: The second Eurovision fueled debut goes to Käärijä, who finished as the runner-up with Cha Cha Cha for Finland and also just released an EP called the Cha Cha Cha Mixtape EP. He debuts at #5 with it, also being his first entry on the album charts. A third EP to debut on the charts belongs to K-Pop group (G)I-dle and is called the I feel EP, arriving at #6. It’s their fourth chart entry so far and while their previous I love EP peaked higher (#5 in 2022), the arrival for the I feel EP at #6 is still their highest arrival to date. British singer-songwriter Lewis Capaldi is new at #13 with Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent, performing slightly worse than with his debut Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent (#9 in 2019), while R&B singer Summer Walker sneaks in at #17 with the Clear 2: Soft Life EP, her second chart entry following the #11 peaking Still Over It from late 2021.
Other talking points this week: Loreen snatched the Eurovision trophy for the second time as just the second artist doing so in the nearly 70 years history of the contest, definitely manifesting her as a true legend. Her victory also leads to her debut album Heal getting new life, as it jumps 16-8 this week. With currently 63 weeks in the Top20, it is among the longest charting albums ever. With Blackmore’s Night’s Shadow Of The Moon (6-11) and Ellie Goulding’s Higher Than Heaven (8-12), two albums have to leave the Top10 for their first times following some strong runs there. Especially the former that charted in the Top10 for ten consecutive weeks. Same applies for Lauren Daigle’s self-titled album (9-19) and Jonas Brothers’ The Album (7-20), though they just debuted in the upper half last week.

Singles Top40
Spoiler! It’s basically week #2 within the Eurovision craziness, as the Grand Final happened last Saturday and it affects this weeks chart. Loreen won the contest with her smash Tattoo for Sweden, becoming just the second artist to win the contest twice and being the first female artist doing so. Tattoo also stays at #1 for a fourth non-consecutive week, extending its lead as the longest running number one single of the year but also for Loreen’s own discography, where none of her previous five number one hits spent more than two weeks on top - even her previous Eurovision winning track Euphoria somehow managed to top the charts for just one week, though it stayed on for an incredible 66 weeks as one of the most successful songs of all time. Additionally, Tattoo also gets certified with Platinum this week, being just the second song of the year reaching that achievement.
Fellow Scandinavian artists and also former Eurovision participants Keiino gave a good fight, as their current single Ritma was very close to making it to the top, but stays at #2 in the end.
The Top3 gets completed by the highest new entry of the week. Kesha just released her fifth studio album Gag Order and following its lead single Eat The Acid that topped the chart two weeks ago (6-6), she chose Only Love Can Save Us Now as a new single to support the album’s release and debuts at #3 with it. Animal (2010) and Rainbow (2017) also collected two Top3 hits each, while her second album Warrior (2012) has currently the most Top3s with three (Die Young, C’mon and Crazy Kids).
Other Eurovision entries this week: Going into the whole Eurovision week, Estonia has been far from being a favorite and it wasn’t even clear if the country would make it past the Semi-Finals. Thankfully they did and surprisingly, Alika’s Bridges even ended up 8th in the Grand Final, which is a fantastic result. The song has been one of the biggest Eurovision hits on the charts so far and also holds up well this time, just dipping 3-4 and also getting certified with Gold. It’s the fourth song of this years contest scoring a certification and most likely not the last. Czechia also did super well with Vesna’s My Sister’s Crown, finishing 10th and also hold up in the Top10 at #7 (7-7). Andrew Lambrou’s Break A Broken Heart (5-8, Cyprus) and Salena & Teya’s Who The Hell Is Edgar? (9-10, Austria) are also still in the Top10.
Despite not getting many points from the juries, Alessandra’s Queen Of Kings (Norway) still ended up fifth in the Grand Final as one of the songs with the biggest hype going into the Eurovision week. The song has also been a big hit so far and stays at #11 this week. Gustaph’s Because Of You (14-14, Belgium), Dilja’s Power (10-15, Iceland), Voyager’s Promise (13-16, Australia), Blanka’s Solo (28-18, a new peak, Poland) and Iru’s Echo (12-19, Georgia) join her in the Top20. Blanca Paloma’s Eaea (Spain) was a jury darling and gains a huge boost, jumping 35-21. She’s just above Monika Linkyte’s Stay (19-22, Lithuania), Luke Black’s Samo mi se spava (16-23, Serbia), Noa Kirel’s Unicorn (26-24, Israel), Let 3’s Mama ŠČ! (17-25, Croatia), Pasha Parfeni’s Soarele si Luna (21-29, Moldova) and Albina And Familja Kelmendi’s Duje (33-30, a new peak, Albania). Remo Forrer’s Watergun (25-32, Switzerland), La Zarra’s Évidemment (18-32, France), Käärijä’s Cha Cha Cha (36-34, Finland), Mimicat’s Ai Coraçăo (20-35, Portugal), Mae Muller’s I Wrote A Song (39-36, UK) and Brunette’s Future Lover (31-39, Armenia) are the other still remaining chart entries from the contest.
There are also two new and one re-entry linked to the contest. First, two actual contest entries, as Italy was represented by Marco Mengoni’s Due Vite that debuts at #37, while Germany was represented by Lord Of The Lost’s Blood & Glitter that re-enters at #40. The other debut goes to Netta, who won the contest for Israel back in 2018 and came back during this years Grand Final to perform a cover of Dead Or Alive’s You Spin Me Round (Like A Record) that enters the charts at #26. It’s her fourth chart entry to date.
From 37 participating countries, 31 official Eurovision entries have entered the Singles Top40 this year and they all already gathered 3,731 chart points as of this week. That’s already the second most chart entries for any Eurovision year ever, being only surpassed by the 2022 edition with 32 chart entries. Going by chart points, the 2023 edition is already ranked third, with the 2022 edition having a total of 3,925 chart points and the 2021 edition being first with 4,163 chart points (from 30 chart entries). There’s definitely no question this years edition should come in first going by overall chart points considering it still has many high charting entries.
Other new entries this week: Dutch Symphonic Rock band Within Temptation still let their fans wait for a new album, as it’s already been more than four years since their last set Resist came out. However, since 2020, they have been releasing stand alone singles and coincidentally, it has been two of these in each year ever since. The first of 2023 is called Wireless and it continues their downward trend, as it debuts at #9 as their lowest peaking proper chart entry ever (proper chart entry means singles that debuted in their original time, as the band has had several lower chart entries, but they were all originally released prior the charts started and only came back due to concert effects). Just missing out on the Top10 is Australian legend Kylie Minogue, who just announced her upcoming new album Tension and to support the announcement, she released its lead single Padam Padam. The song enters at #13 as her 11th chart entry to date. Also reaching the Top20 is Anne-Marie, who will be releasing her third album Unhealthy soon and just put out its title track as a new single. The song features Shania Twain and debuts at #17, already being Anne-Marie’s 22nd chart entry since making her debut on Clean Bandit’s Rockabye in late 2016. K-Pop group (G)I-dle own the final debut of the week, as their Queencard arrives at #33.
Blanca Paloma’s Eaea is the biggest climber, while Mimicat’s Ai Coraçăo is the biggest loser this week.

I definitely like Speak Now, but it did feel like a bit of a "dip" after Fearless (and then I REALLY loved Red). Unlike her first two albums, SN had a lot of long, slow songs that took longer to click with me ("Back To December," "Enchanted," "Haunted," "Last Kiss"), and some that still haven't fully clicked with me ("Dear John," "Innocent")On that note, you might like her new collaboration with The National.
Funny enough, that's the country who supports her the most when looking at iTunes & Co. (even more than the US)
Ok, sounds a bit reserved, so I hope the TV release may put the album back on your map when it comes to her discography. Even though you're sticking with her original albums, you're still be checking the TV album out at least once, right?
Thanks for the recommendation, just checked it out and you're right, I like it! Though probably not enough to enter my chart. But let me put on my watch list for week 20...

IMO his albums are actually good and I rate them higher as a whole than I rate his songs (two of his albums reached the Top10 for me). He just dropped another single of Austin today, hopefully another poppier tune

Not sure if there's ever enough time but something in me tells me I need to check out her previous four albums, because That! Feels Good! is just this good and considering UKMix have been raving about her since her debut, maybe that'll be worth it. Pearls is another big standout on the album!
Originally posted by crystalphoenix View PostMany thanks for making another glorious speadsheet screenshot! 58 weeks for "I See Fire" is WILD! How does that rank among your longest-lasting hits of all-time? Funnily, he's in a similar situation on my chart where he's had a lot of hits, but only two No. 1's (one of which is "Bad Habits"). Like you mentioned, that spreadsheet really illustrates how "I Don't Care" was a turning point for you (not even Top 30! The = singles gave him better peaks again, but nothing since ÷ has lasted longer than 11 weeks).
Yep, I Don't Care was a turning point when it comes to Ed. That's also when the overkill started to kick in. It's also not just the singles performances, but also the albums, where = went 1-2-11-Out. I still love Bad Habits & Shivers, they're great, but the album as a whole didn't live up to these two tracks. It also has to be said though that 2010-2015 (or maybe even up to 2017) is a different time line than 2017 onwards, as I discover a lot more music and so it got more difficult for songs to chart longer.

Oh, Lego House being his first chart entry <3 Definitely the biggest regret of not discovering him sooner as IMO that's still to this day one of this best songs. You Need Me, I Don't Need You is another great tune!
Low key surprised Shape Of You didn't do better, but very pleased Galway Girl also reached the Top3.
I forgot what a great streak he's had with the No. 6 Collaboration Project songs for you.
What's his biggest hit going by certification for you?

but go Loreen! "Tattoo" was among the songs I'd heard (and enjoyed) before this year's contest, and it's awesome that she's now earned two wins spread a decade apart. "Tattoo" and "I Wrote A Song" should show up on my next chart
- Impressive for Jessie to earn a Top 5 debut during Eurovision fever! Really glad she chose "Freak Me Now" to be the next single
- I'd love to see Rita have another comeback, but I'm not that crazy about "Praising You" either
- What brought "Insomnia" back?
She's just the second artist to win twice ever (and first female) so this is a huge achievement, and so very well deserved. I Wrote A Song is a BOP. If you haven't already, maybe you can check out Alessandra's Queen Of Kings as well (not sure anymore, maybe you already did when it did well on my chart a while ago)
I know! But the song is just so good (and no idea why it didn't debut previously). Jessie having two Top10 during Eurovision when she never had entries previously is honestly super impressive.
Let's hope her upcoming new album still offer some bops. Phoenix is still such an awesome Pop album.
My own insomniaI've been suffering from insomnia for years now, sometimes it's better, sometimes it comes back. Lately I've been sleeping surprisingly well but around two weeks ago it returned again and the song itself has been in my head ever since it was originally released (definitely one of my most favorite songs from 2019 onwards) so I decided to put it back on my daily playlist, to sing along to it while driving to work and therefore making "fun" of my own insomnia (or somewhat not getting defeated by it as I did in the past, more accepting it as it is and even making the best out of it in combination with the song) and so far, it worked!

I've really been circling back to, and sticking with, "I Wrote a Song". It's just too Taylor Swift to resist.Loreen absolutely slayed the contest this year and I truly hate how her victory gets overshadowed by all the hate she receives online. The Eurovision artists (and fans) always say how much love the contest gives to their artists but every year there are so many sore loosers, and it feels like this year it's been the worst when it comes to that. I really hope she was able to stay away from all that and enjoys the victory as much as she can, she deserves it.
I Wrote A Song is a bop for sure - as you can see, it has done pretty well for me already prior the contest, because it's such a bop. Sadly I don't think her live performance lived up to that (yet I also think the UK definitely didn't deserve second to last place).
Overall super cool you've followed the contest again this year! <3 Did you watch through the livestream on YouTube or was there another way to do so?

Yaytbh I'm already way too excited to see what she'll bring on the Season 16 finale - I feel like if one can beat Violet's look from the S8 finale, then it's Sasha.

I share your hope for Enchanted to be the one that gets a lot of attention, but yes, something in me feels like it's going to be another song, also because Enchanted already got some kind of a revival lately. We will have to wait and see - the way we know Taylor, we probably won't be getting a single until the actual album drops
(which, in one way, I'm fine with if she keeps pushing Karma for the next two months).
How did you rate Speak Now back in the days? From what I remember you really enjoyed it, right?Where are you headed?
I definitely like Speak Now, but it did feel like a bit of a "dip" after Fearless (and then I REALLY loved Red). Unlike her first two albums, SN had a lot of long, slow songs that took longer to click with me ("Back To December," "Enchanted," "Haunted," "Last Kiss"), and some that still haven't fully clicked with me ("Dear John," "Innocent")On that note, you might like her new collaboration with The National.

Love, love That! Feels Good!
I charted "Say You Love Me" years ago, then nothing else until What's Your Pleasure? (and even then, none of the WYP? tracks made my Top 10). "Pearls" became her big breakthrough moment for me.

[sublime spreadsheet]
Yes, x is my favorite album by him. I See Fire easily by favorite song. As you can see, his debut era didn't make an impact for me (+ only did so following I See Fire's impact in early 2014 and kept charting for a while due to x. I also need to point how that ÷ is closer to 2xP than it is to P. Ever since I Don't Care, I kinda turned a bit off of Ed but he's still among the best performers on my charts. Will be exciting to hear if you share some favorites! Many thanks for making another glorious speadsheet screenshot!
Screenshotting my spreadsheet would be pretty massive (since I let every random album track chart), but you've inspired me to recap all his singles as the lead (plus any album tracks that made my Top 5), in debut-date order:

Bubbling Under
Spoiler! The Eurovision Song Contest 2023 also makes its impact on the Bubbling Under chart, where two songs - one from each Semi Final - enters the list, with Latvia’s Sudden Lights’ Aijā making it all the way to the top. The song sadly missed out on the Grand Final and also just barely misses out on the main chart now. Greece was represented by Victor Vernicos and the song What They Say and despite a lackluster performance, the song itself is still solid and debuts at #9. From all Semi Finalists, even missing out on the Bubbling Under chart and therefore having no entry across any of the charts at all are TuralTuranX’ Tell Me More (Azerbaijan), Wild Youth’s We Are One (Ireland), Theodor Andrei’s D.G.T. (Off And On) (Romania) and Piqued Jacks’ Like An Animal (San Marino).
There are further Eurovision related debuts for Voyager, who are representing Australia at the contest this year and already released a new song called Prince Of Fire (#6), and for Rosa Linn, who represented Armenia with the worldwide hit single Snap last year and just released a new song called Hallelujah (#8).
It’s been a super busy week with the whole Bubbling Under chart being either new or re-entries - plus, there have been an additional seven (!) songs that were considered for the main or this chart but failed to enter any of them due to the competitiveness. More on them later. The highest non Eurovision related entry goes to Feuerschwanz, who still prepare the release of their upcoming new album with the new single Berzerkermode. The song was also very close to the main chart and could move over there once the Eurovision craziness ends, but it has to settle down for #2 on this list for now.
Most surprisingly is the re-entry at #3, as Ashley Tisdale returns with Insomnia, a track from her latest album Symptoms (2019) and one of the most successful songs ever on the Bubbling Under chart, as it charts for its 23rd week now.
Rachel Platten returns back with her new single Girls following a long break (#4), Christine And The Queens put out a new track called Tears Can Be So Soft (#5), LP announced an upcoming new album with its lead single Golden (#7), and Becky Hill teams up with Lewis Thompson on Side Effects (#10).
Final shoutouts go to the songs that even missed the Bubbling Under chart this week: James Arthur’s A Year Ago, Sam Ryder’s Mountain, Milky Chance’s Purple Tiger, Janelle Monae’s Lipstick Lover, Shakira’s Acrostico, Billie Eilish’s Hotline (Edit), and BTS’ The Planet.

Album Top20
Spoiler! The Eurovision craziness reaches new heights following the first two Semi Finals on Tuesday and Thursday and the contest’s entries invaded the Singles Top40. With that, there was absolutely no question that its compilation will spends its fourth non-consecutive week atop the Album Top20, where it surpasses Blackmore’s Night’s Shadow Of The Moon to become this years second longest running top album. It’s only one week behind Ava Max’ Diamonds & Dancefloors and should definitely be able to tie her at least. With four weeks at #1, the 2023 compilation also tied the ones from 2012 and 2013 as the second longest running Eurovision compilations ever, only behind the 2021 and 2022 editions with five weeks each.
More Eurovision related entries go to Loreen, who re-enters the Top20 at #16 with her debut album Heal, and to Gjon’s Tears, who represented Switzerland two years ago but already falls 11-19 with The Game.
Jessie Ware might become one of the breakthrough stars of 2023, despite being a household name in the UK for a very long time now. But her fifth album That! Feels Good! is not only her first entry ever, it also brought her the first entry ever on the singles charts with Free Yourself. Jessie already gets a second high peaking entry on the singles charts this week and that also lets the album improve 4-2 for a new peak. Ed Sheeran’s - (Subtract) completes the Top3 (2-3).
New entries this week: There are just two new arrivals and both weren’t exactly highly anticipated, but still good enough to enter the upper half. First up is Jonas Brothers’ The Album, their first new releases in nearly four years, when Happiness Begins marked their comeback as a band and reached #4. The album didn’t score an entry on the singles charts yet and so it also does slightly weaker, reaching #7. Also scoring her second chart entry is Lauren Daigle, as her self-titled album debuts at #9. This is already an improvement over her breakthrough album Look Up Child, which peaked at #13 in mid 2018.
Other talking points this week: Following Ed Sheeran and Jessie Ware, there are two more British singer-songwriters who are currently doing exceptionally well, with Freya Ridings, who rises back up 5-4 with her second album Blood Orange, and with Ellie Goulding, who may continue to dip down the chart with Higher Than Heaven (6-8), but the album gets certified with Gold this week. Returning to the Top10 once more is Taylor Swift’s Folklore, rising 13-10 mainly due to the hype of the announcement for the upcoming Speak Now (Taylor’s Version). Besides Ellie, there are two more certifications happening, with another Gold one going to Lana Del Rey and her Did You Know That There’s A Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd (15-18). From all nine album entries on the album charts, Blue Banisters is now her only without a certification. A Platinum certification goes to Kesha’s Warrior (10-14), therefore making its comeback after a decade even more impressive.

Singles Top40
Spoiler! It all lead up to this week… following the first two Semi Finals that were held on Tuesday and Thursday, we’re in the midst of the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 and its impact is absolutely insane, as with an additional seven new and two re-entries, there are a massive 29 songs from the contest on the Singles Top40, out of 37 participating countries. Going back to the top of the chart is Loreen’s Tattoo, the Swedish entry that was performed on Tuesday and made it to the Grand Final that is happening on Saturday. She returns for a third non-consecutive week, making Tattoo the longest running number one song of the year so far and there’s even a chance to see the song spending more weeks there, as Loreen’s entry is the big favorite to win the whole contest.
Joining Loreen up high is Alika’s Bridges, the entry for Estonia, that has been charting for quite a while now and jumps 24-3 for a new peak following its performance on Thursday. She also moved on to the Grand Final, just like Andrew Lambrou’s Break A Broken Heart (15-5, Cyprus), Vesna’s My Sister’s Crown (23-7, Czechia) and Salena & Teya’s Who The Hell Is Edgar? (18-9, Austria) that are all joining the Top10. Also reaching the Top10 is Dilja’s Power (17-10, Iceland), though sadly she didn’t impress the audience enough and didn’t move on to the final, so this might end up being her peak chart wise.
Alessandra’s Queen Of Kings represents Norway and already has been a massive hit as the only song of the year to have been certified with Platinum so far, so despite a good performance on the first Semi Final, she already reached most of her potential and the song just misses out on a Top10 placement, rising 16-11. Another big hit from the past few weeks has been Iru’s Echo, the entry for Georgia. Unfortunately, the song ended up being the most shocking elimination in the Semi Finals and didn’t move on, but it still jumps 20-12 on the charts. The highest of all Eurovision new entries goes to Gustaph, who represents Belgium with the fun track Because Of You and enters the charts at #14 following a stellar performance in the second Semi Final. Joining the Top20 as new entries are Let 3 with Mama ŠČ! (#17, Croatia) and Mimicat with Ai Coraçăo (#20, Portugal), while Luke Black’s Samo mi se spava is the highest re-entry at #16 (Serbia). Voyager’s Promise (10-13, Australia) and La Zarra’s Évidemment (14-18, France) dip down a bit, while Monika Linkyte’s Stay reaches the upper half for the first time (28-19, Lithuania).
Pasha Parfeni’s Soarele si Luna (26-21) and Noa Kirel’s Unicorn (31-26, Israel) are among the songs that already have been successes in the past so their good performance in the Semi Finals doesn’t result in big chart impacts. It’s the opposite for Blanka’s Solo (38-24, Poland) and Remo Forrer’s Watergun (32-25, Switzerland). Tvorchi represent Ukraine, who won the contest last year and therefore they’re automatically in the Grand Final and have yet to perform, so their Heart Of Steel slips a bit (27-30). Finally, in the last quarter of the Top40, there are a bunch more new and re-entries with Brunette’s Future Lover (re at #31, Armenia), Albina And Familja Kelmendi’s Duje (new at #33, Albania), Reiley’s Breaking My Heart (new at #34, Denmark), The Busker’s Dance (Our Own Party) (new at #37, Malta) and Joker Out’s Carpe Diem (new at #40, Slovenia), all joining Mia Nicolai & Dion Cooper’s Burning Daylight (35-32, Netherlands), Blanca Paloma’s Eaea (36-35, Spain), Käärijä’s Cha Cha Cha (39-36, Finland) and Mae Muller’s I Wrote A Song (30-39, UK) as the final Eurovision entries in the Top40.
One Eurovision related act completes the Top3, as Norwegian trio Keiino have released a new single just in time for the contest, where they were huge favorites with their entry Spirit In The Sky back in 2019 and have been releasing tune after tune ever since. Their new song is called Ritma and debuts at #2, being their 18th chart entry, where all peaked inside the Top10 with this being already their 11th consecutive Top3 hit.
Other new and re-entries this week: Yes, there is also something to highlight that isn’t linked to the contest, as there are three more debuts on the charts. One of them comes in very high at #4 with Freak Me Now, the current single of Jessie Ware’s new album That! Feels Good!. It joins her other chart entry Free Yourself, that hangs on in the Top10 as well (7-8) and was actually used for a performance by Drag Queens during the second Semi Final of the Eurovision Song Contest. Drag Race superstar Aja debuts at #22 with her new single Vulture Queen, actually being her very first chart entry on the singles charts (and second overall, as her last album made an appearance on the Album Top20 back in 2019). Dolly Parton starts a new era with her new track World On Fire, new at #23. Last but not least, still somewhat Eurovision related, as Rita Ora performed during the first Semi Final as an interval act that pushes her current single Praising You back to #29. Needless to say that most other chart entries are experiences big drops this week.

Don’t mind Curtains by Ed, can’t get into Kesha.
Aw. Kesha's new one is fab IMO but I get why I'm basically alone with thisBut yes Curtains is good (better than Eyes Closed and Boat at least to me)

You aren't missing much with "All Of The Girls You Loved Before." It makes sense she left it off Lover. So super excited for this announcement and the album is coming out just one week before I'm going on vacation, so this could be my soundtrack of that vacation <3 As we talked recently about your trip to the UK with Ellie, I also always have like an album that I connect to my trips and that end up being so well remembered because of that, so that's like the best possible outcome for Speak Now (TV)
From what I remember you really enjoyed it, right?
Ok, good to know. I still will check it out eventually so I'm "up to date" with her discography at least.

Have you also checked out (one of) his albums?
Originally posted by crystalphoenix View Post- Experimental Kesha isn't getting much play from me, so thankfully you're showing her plenty of love while I let her down
I think this is the last album for her contract, so I'm glad she's able to end that awful saga with something that's really meaningful/cathartic for her
- Akini's chart nudged me to check out "Goddess," which is uhLOT of fun. (That bitch is a g-o-d-d-e-s-s indeed)
- "Free Yourself" finally entered my chart too after the album release
- This has turned into "Ed Week" for me. I hardly played him during 2022, so the release of - has made me realize I "missed him" more than I thought. - isn't about to become my favorite album of his or anything, but it inspired me to revisit + (and other older songs), which has held up well/reminded me why I was ever excited about him as an artist. "Eyes Closed" has definitely grown on me too. Do you mind re-capping the peaks and certs for all his albums here? (x is your fave by far, yeah)?
But something just clicked with me - fun thing is, I don't rate Fine Line that much. Still, really looking forward to the album. And yes, it's her last album under that contract and yes, glad she can end it with something that feels like true to her.
Ah yay glad you already got into THE goddess that is Sasha Colby <3 I'm a stan <3
Wow, somehow I thought you already charted the song last year? Good to know I wasn't the only one being late on the Free Yourself fan trainTbh, Jessie's such a weird case for me as I know people on here have been raving about her since her debut and I kept checking one and another song out, but it took her up to now until I finally got into her. Love, love That! Feels Good!
Wow x2 - glad to hear Ed got you back into his music with -. The album is a bit samey and maybe also long (deluxe at least) but has so much more substance than his last album. I hope it does well for her and I'm sure he is aware that this won't be an album cycle where he can get a big hit. Sure - here you go:
Yes, x is my favorite album by him. I See Fire easily by favorite song. As you can see, his debut era didn't make an impact for me (+ only did so following I See Fire's impact in early 2014 and kept charting for a while due to x. I also need to point how that ÷ is closer to 2xP than it is to P. Ever since I Don't Care, I kinda turned a bit off of Ed but he's still among the best performers on my charts. Will be exciting to hear if you share some favorites!
Thank you so much

Originally posted by Tansike View PostOhhh "doomscrolling" is such a good word for that, I'll definitely use that from now on as well!! This really helped with my own health because yeah, all the negativity out there is just not healthy.

Still crossing my fingers for Karma to do well, but it'll be tough considering Lavender Haze already wasn't the biggest success. Yay for the Folklore love
And yes, crazy to see how the tour has been helping Cruel Summer. But...... I want Speak Now TV now not a 2019 song to be a single(do you see my desperate need for Speak Now TV?
)

Bubbling Under
Spoiler!Following the release of Ed Sheeran’s new album - (Subtract), one song on the album stands out the most and that’s Stoned, one of the additional songs on the deluxe version of the album. The song becomes Ed’s only entry on the Bubbling Under chart, but a strong one right away as it debuts at #1.
With The Busker’s Dance (Our Own Marty) (new at #4, Malta) and Reiley’s Breaking My Heart (re at #7, Denmark), two songs from this years Eurovision Song Contest also find their ways to this chart. Anna Rossinelli is a former contestant on the show and released her new single I Used To Be Young that debuts at #7.
There are further debuts for Gayle’s Don’t Call Me Pretty at #9 and Tia Kofi’s Satellite at #10. The two new singles Muero by Alvaro Soler and Greatest Day (Robin Schulz Remix) by Take That feat. Calum Scott were both close to making appearances as well.
Finally, Azealia Banks & Lazy Jay’s 212 (1-2) and Crookers & Róisín Murphy’s Royal T (2-3) hold up well, while Bebe Rexha keeps charting with both, I’m Not High, I’m In Love (3-5) and Miracle Man (4-8) to complete the Bubbling Under chart.

Album Top20
Spoiler! With a look at the Singles Top40 there was just no way to see something else other than the compilation for the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 returning to the top of the Album Top20. It does so for its third non-consecutive week, joining Blackmore’s Night’s Shadow Of The Moon (8-7) as the second longest running number one album of the year, being just two weeks behind Ava Max’ Diamonds & Dancefloors (20-Out).
Ed Sheeran released his sixth studio album - (Subtract) and gets his fifth consecutive Top3 entry with it, as the album arrives at #2. His previous album = may have spawned two Gold certified hits with Bad Habits and Shivers, but none of the following singles performed well, none of the current singles were successes so far, and = itself may have topped the chart, but also already left them after a rather abysmal three weeks, so the arrival for - (Subtract) is actually much better than anticipated. His only album to miss out on the Top3 so far was is debut +, as it didn’t enter the album charts during its original run, but reached the Top20 and peaked at #9 on the back of I See Fire and his second album x (2014).
Bebe Rexha’s Bebe completes the Top3 this week (1-3).
Other new and re-entries this week: No other new entries, but with Kesha’s Eat The Acid being an unexpected smash on the singles charts, her new track also brings her back catalogue back on the radar, which is why her second studio album Warrior makes a stellar return to #10. The album was originally released back in 2012 where it topped the chart for two weeks, but it also charted well during 2013. There’s another re-entry that finally comes back as this is a relatively calm week otherwise: Delirium, the third album by Ellie Goulding at #16. Ellie’s been a similar case to Kesha, as her new album Higher Than Heaven (5-6) was also a reason to dive back into her older songs and albums, so Delirium has been close to making a re-entry for a few weeks now but always just missed out on doing so due to the strong competition.
Other talking points this week: What has started as somewhat of a comeback story for Kelsea Ballerini has turned into being as successful as never before, as the Country singer has never been the biggest hit maker but 2023 is already by a big margin her most successful year ever. As if the past few weeks haven’t been good enough, her Rolling Up The Welcome Mat EP reaches a new peak this week (10-8), with Subject To Change also rising 11-9. As usual, no week passes by without something to tell about Taylor Swift, and that’s a huge one. With Folklore rising 16-13, the album that was originally released back in 2020 is currently the album that’s been the most successful in 2023 so far! Though for the year-end countdowns, there’ll be a point reducing rule for older releases as usual. Last but not least, Leony’s debut album Somewhere In Between gets certified with Gold (12-14).
