Great that Nicole has two songs in your Top 10 I like "Run" much more than "On The Rocks" and I don't understand why the latter was chosen as a single, nonetheless I still like this song.

And Ella's "Ghost" was one of my fave songs back in the summer
Thanks, really glad to hear that.
Good question! Well, the Singles Top40 is for singles (also promo singles,...). I don't own all of them and it's based on how much i like them, while the Airplay Top10 is from all songs i own and how much i played them in a week. Also, a song that gets played more obviously has better chances to chart high on the Singles Top40, while album tracks with lots of plays support an album on the Album Top20 more.

Glad you like her entries, and i agree. "Run" should have been a single in the UK too.

      week 43/2014 – 23 october 2014 Master Of Violins & Tides

      • Singles Top40

US violinist and youtube sensation Lindsey Stirling is back with a new outcoupling from her second album “Shatter Me”. The album closer “Master Of Tides” was released as the third official single a while ago and finally finds its way to the Singles Top40 with a debut directly at number one, becoming her second number one single and fourth Top2-hit. Interestingly, she also just released the video for “Roundtable Rival” which should make a debut next week.

Another debut makes a strong entry at number two and so just missed the top spot by one place, but it’s still a big improvement for the finnish pop rock group Sunrise Avenue. The band scored some hits every now and then, but their last really big hit was “Forever Yours” seven years ago (#1). Now they’re back with “You Can Never Be Ready” as the first single from their best of “Fairytales” which makes its strong debut on the album charts. Closing the Top3 is Jessie J with her new single “Burnin’ Up”, rising 11-3 in her second week on the charts.

After two weeks on top, Tokio Hotel’s “Love Who Loves You Back” declines 1-4. Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud” falls 2-5, Tove Lo’s “Habits” slips 4-6, Tokio Hotel’s second entry “Girl Got A Gun” is down 3-7 and “Break Free” by Ariana Grande decreases 6-8. There are two more new songs in the Top10, both of them are climbers but only one of them is in that territory for the first time and it’s Ella Henderson. After debuting at #12 last week, her song “Glow” becomes her first Top10 as it’s increasing by three places. The other climber is “Shatter Me” by Lindsey Stirling, going up 21-10 in its 25th week. It topped the charts for three consecutive weeks earlier this year.

Nicole Scherzinger is leaving the Top10 with both of her songs; “Run” is down 8-11 and “On The Rocks” tumbles 9-18. Both are expected to rise again next week as her second solo record “Big Fat Lie” was released and will make its debut then. Anastacia also has two songs that are leaving the Top10 this time as “Lifeline” is down 7-12 and “Staring At The Sun” falls 10-15, and with OneRepublic’s “I Lived” going down 5-13 there’s a fifth song that leaves the Top10 from last week.

English folk-rock singer-songwriter Passenger re-enters the charts with his single “Heart’s On Fire” at #14, outdoing its #25-peak from earlier this year. It’s the second single of his fifth album “Whispers” which makes its debut on the Album Top20 this week, hence the re-entry for the song. Another song climbs into the Top20 with Maroon 5’s “Animals” (25-20). It’s their second Top20 notation this year as the promo single “It Was Always You” reached #12 a few weeks ago.

Sam Smith leaves the Top20 for the first time with his third single “I’m Not The Only One” (16-21), also leaving that territory is Anette Olzon’s “Lies” but not for the first time (17-22). This step down isn’t too sad for them though as both songs get certified; “I’m Not The Only One” becomes Sam’s second Gold certified single after “Stay With Me” (24-25) while “Lies” is certified with 2x Platinum. Nick Jonas’ “Jealous” (15-23), Avicii’s “The Days” (20-24) and Carrie Underwood’s “Something In The Water” (18-30) are out of the Top20 as well.

Apart from the two Top10 singles, Lindsey Stirling gets two more entries as the singles “Beyond The Veil” (#26) and “Crystallize” (#39) climb back. There’s one last new entry with “Scare Away The Dark”, the first single from Passenger’s album “Whispers” at #28.

Lindsey Stirling and Lzzy Hale’s “Shatter Me” is the biggest climber while Carrie Underwood’s “Something In The Water” is the biggest loser.

      • Album Top20

Jessie J already celebrated a little comeback last week, but no she has even more to celebrate as her third release “Sweet Talker” increases 3-1 and becomes her second chart topping album after 2010s “Who You Are” which debuted directly on top. It also becomes the 20th number one album this year, but only the fifth that didn’t debut there after Indila’s “Mini World”, the compilation for the Eurovision Song Contest, Lana Del Rey’s “Ultraviolence” and “The Very Best Of…” by Dolly Parton.

Two new albums finds their way to the Album Top20 this week. Finnish pop rock group Sunrise Avenue are new at number two with their first best of called “Fairytales – Best Of 2006-2014”, including hits like “Fairytale Gone Bad”, “Forever Yours” and the new single “You Can Never Be Ready”. Their fourth album “Unholy Ground” just debuted and peaked at #4 earlier this year as their only charting studio album so far. The second new entry is at #10 and called “Whispers”. It’s by singer songwriter Passengers and his first charts entry.

Lindsey Stirling is back on track. While “Shatter Me” has an impressive chartrun, it still didn’t do as good as her previous self-titled album, but now the album climbs back up 7-3 in its 25th week on the charts, plus “Lindsey Stirling” is rising 14-9 too. Meanwhile, german band Tokio Hotel fall 1-4 with their comeback album “Kings Of Suburbia”, followed by Tove Lo’s debut “Queen Of The Clouds” which experiences the same drop (2-5). Ed Sheeran is up 9-6 with “x”, while Within Temptation rise 8-7 with “Hydra”. They just announced “Edge Of The World” as the fifth single of the album, so it could show some more stability over the next few weeks. The last album in the Top10 is Anette Olzon’s “Shine” which falls 5-8 in its 30th week on the charts and is now as low as never before during this impressive chartrun.

After three weeks in the Top10, Anastacia’s surprising top album “Resurrection” falls 6-11. Colbie Caillat’s “Gypsy Heart” (10-13) and Ella Henderson’s “Chapter One” (4-14) both leave the upper half as well, especially with the latter one seeing a big decrease. Most other albums in the lower section of the Album Top20 are pretty stable and only move a very few places. The last thing to mention is Lana Del Rey’s “Ultraviolence” which gets certified with Platinum – finally!

      • Airplay Top10

I was on vacation the whole week and therefore the plays for most songs aren’t too high, but there were three albums that made clearly the most impacts and that are Jessie J’s “Sweet Talker”, Sunrise Avenue’s best of “Fairytales” and Lindsey Stirling’s “Shatter Me”, and the number one comes from the last one as Lindsey’s “Master Of Tides” also debuts at top on the Airplay Top10.

Surprisingly, the song never made the charts before despite the fact that the album made a huge impact on the airplay charts during its release month, but “Master Of Tides” didn’t impress me that much back then and remaind one of only two songs from “Shatter Me” that never made the charts – until now! Two other songs from her are back with album track “Take Flight” at #8 and title track and second single “Shatter Me” at #9.

The second highest entry comes from Sunrise Avenue with “You Can Never Be Ready” also debuting at #2 like on the Singles Top40. Their best of “Fairytales” are brings two old hits to the airplay charts as their top hit from 2007 called “Forever Yours” got enough plays to debut at #6, followed by “I Don’t Dance” from 2011 at #7.

Finally, Jessie J obviously got some entries as well from her newly number one album. The title track “Sweet Talker” remains the strongest, increasing 8-3 this time. The ballad “Get Away” is up 10-4, and “Loud” – a collaboration with Lindsey Stirling slips 9-10. There’s one new song by Jessie as the single “Burnin’ Up” is new at #5.

Plays of the Top10 went down by 140 to 206 (-40.5%) compared to last week.

Do you know if her tour is as spectacular as this? I might consider going there...

Oh you think so - that's good! Do you know some other videos of hers? I consider the video for "Master Of Tides" as one of the weaker ones....

Yes and no. I went to her concert on friday, so just two days ago. She put on a great show, played for 90 minutes which is a good time IMO and she did her 'usual' dancing, but i expected some more special effects. The first half wasn't very impressive and she played some songs i don't like that much, but the second half was fantastic. After all, she can do some amazing stuff with the violin which is great, but she still has potential to improve how to make the concert.
                Are you a big fan?
My bf had to come with me and he only knew "Crystallize" and he said it sounded all the same to him

week 44/2014 – 30 october 2014 concert effect for Lindsey Stirling & new albums by Nicole and Kiesza

                              • Singles Top40

Lindsey Stirling shows how to dominate a charts this week. After her concert here in Switzerland last friday, all of her chart hits increase a lot, including a new entry directly at number one. This means she already gets another top hit just one week after she got her last with “Master Of Tides”.
The fourth – more or less – official single from her second album “Shatter Me” is called “Roundtable Rival” and its amazing video was released last week as one of her best ones so far. That plus the fact that “Roundtable Rival” was also one of the highlights of her show makes it an unsurprising debut at #1, becoming her third chart topper and fifth entry overall.

“Master Of Tides” slips 1-2 in its second week but it’s still doing strong. It’s followed by another single by Lindsey – “Crystallize”. “Crystallize” was the beginning of her huge success and the first entry of hers ever. It topped the Year-End Charts 2013 and continued with showing crazy stability in 2014 as well and due to the concert it moves 39-3 in its 74th week on the charts. This is already the second time this year an artists owns the complete Top3 after Ariana Grande did so a few weeks ago with “Break Free” (#1), “Bang Bang” (#2) and “Best Mistake” (#3), but Ariana had features or duet partners on all three songs while Lindsey did it all by herself.

Despite the Lindsey slayage, Ed Sheeran goes up one place with “Thinking Out Loud” (5-4). It needs one more week inside the Top5 to tie both “I See Fire” and “Sing” as his longest-Top5-singles. Sunrise Avenue are down 2-5 with “You Can Never Be Ready”, followed by “Burnin Up” by Jessie J (3-6). Due to the album release, Nicole Scherzinger’s current singles get a boost with “On The Rock” reaching a new peak (18-7) and “Run” coming back to the Top10 (11-10). The other two songs in the Top10 are “Shatter Me” by Lindsey Stirling (10-8) and “Love Who Loves You Back” by Tokio Hotel (4-9).

After impressive 16 weeks, Ariana Grande’s “Break Free” has to leave the Top10 for the first time by falling 8-11. But the follow-up called “Love Me Harder” is set to make its debut pretty soon. Tokio Hotel’s “Girl Got A Gun” (7-14), Tove Lo’s “Habits” (6-15) and Ella Henderson’s “Glow” (9-19) also leave the Top10. There are two more new entries in the Top20, one from the UK and one from Canada. Olly Murs got several entries over the last few years, but a big hit has yet to come. Maybe “Wrapped Up” will be that one? The new single from his upcoming fourth album “Never Been Better” starts at #12. The other entry comes from Kiesza, who already scores her third hit this year with “No Enemiesz” at #16 due to the release of her debut album “Sound Of A Woman”. Lindsey Stirling’s fifth and final chart hit “Beyond The Veil” obviously makes an increase as well up into the Top20 (26-13).

Two hits from earlier this year are back just outside the upper half due to new album releases. Kiesza’s “Giant In My Heart” re-enters the charts at #21 while Nicole Scherzinger’s “Your Love” is back at #22. Meanwhile, five entries have to leave the Top20: Maroon 5’s “Animals” (20-23), Tokio Hotel’s “Run Run Run” (16-24), Anastacia’s “Staring At The Sun” (15-25), “You Ruin Me” by The Veronicas (17-26) and Colbie Caillat’s “Try” (19-36).

UK newcomer Sam Smith gets his first Platinum certified single with “Stay With Me”, which still shows some good stability (25-27). What seemed to never have an end comes probably to an end now as Anette Olzon’s “Lies” leaves the Top30 for the first time since it re-entered the charts impressive 30 weeks ago (22-31). Finally, there’s one new entry and one re-entry more: UK band The Script are new at #29 with “Superheroes” while the huge worldwide hit “All About That Bass” by Meghan Trainor is back at #40.

Lindsey Stirling’s “Crystallize” is the obvious biggest climber while Colbie Caillat’s “Try” is the biggest loser this week.

Over on the album charts, Lindsey Stirling also benefits from her concert and rises back to the top with her second and current album “Shatter Me” (3-1). It’s on the charts for a half year now and topped the charts for three weeks total, being one of only six albums that spent more than two weeks at number one this year. Her self-titled debut also rises a few places, up 9-4 in its 78th week. That one spent its first five weeks on top, so “Lindsey Stirling” brings her total weeks at number one to eight.

Jessie J slips 1-2 with “Sweet Talker”, collecting a third week inside the Top3. Her debut album “Who You Are” also spent its first three weeks inside the Top3 (1-2-2-), so it will be interesting to see if “Sweet Talker” will be her biggest album yet. The first of two new entries makes its way to the Top3 as well. The fans of former PCD frontwoman Nicole Scherzinger had to wait for three and a half years until the singer released her second solo album called “Big Fat Lie”, but now it’s finally ready and it’s also making a good debut. Her solo debut peaked at #2 for two weeks and went Platinum.

Like their single, Sunrise Avenue’s album “Fairytales” also drop 2-5, Tove Lo’s “Queen Of The Clouds” is down 5-7, Tokio Hotel’s “Kings Of Suburbia” falls 4-8, Within Temptation’s “Hydra” decreases 7-9 and Ed Sheeran’s “x” is closes the Top10 (6-10). There’s one more album on the charts and as shortly mentioned it’s a new entry. Canadian newcomer Kiesza already scored a Top5 hit with “Hideaway” earlier this year, plus she got two more Top20 hits with “Giant In My Heart” and “No Enemiesz”. Now her debut album called “Sound Of A Woman” was finally released and debuts at #6.

After impressive 30 weeks Anette Olzon’s “Shine” leaves the Top10 for the first time, going down 8-11. Also out of the Top10 is Passenger’s “Whispers” (10-13), but only after one week. The rest of the charts is pretty stable. Banks’ debut album “Goddess” is certified with Gold, becoming her first certified release as none of the singles were that successful.

                              • Airplay Top10

Quite unsurprisingly Lindsey Stirling is also dominating the Airplay Top10 and owns all ten songs with six songs from “Shatter Me” and four songs from her debut “Lindsey Stirling”. “Roundtable Rival” is the strongest entry, coming back at #1 and becomes her third chart topper on the airplay charts. “Crystallize” re-peaks at #2 nearly two years after its initial release and “Master Of Tides” rounds up the Top3 by falling 1-3.

The album track “Take Flight” reaches a new peak by increasing 8-4 while former #1 airplay hit “Moon Trance” from her debut album climbs back to #5. Surprisingly, her big hit “Shatter Me” featuring Lzzy Hale is only up 9-6 followed by “Stars Align” which is back at #7. This Top7 is pretty interesting as these seven songs were all performed as the last seven songs from her concert last Friday, just not in the same order. There are obviously three more songs: Album opener from her debut – “Electric Daisy Violin” – is back at #8, while album opener from “Shatter Me” – “Beyond The Veil” – is back at #9. Closing the Top10 is “Night Vision”.

Apart from the songs that fall out of the charts, lots of other songs still got played quite a lot but missed the charts. The most played ones are “Transcendence” and “Mirror Haus” by Lindsey, followed by the album tracks from Nicole Scherzinger’s new album which were played at least five times each.

Plays of the Top10 went up by 139 to 345 (+67.5%) compared to last week. So back to normality, as it went down by 140 plays last week.

I honestly didn't expect to hear that sound, a bit disappointed to be honest as I expected symphonic rock! Gotta give her more time!

One Republic, Avicii, Ed Sheeran and Maroon 5 are all ace!

I also took the liberty of checking out "Wrapped Up" and "Enemiesz" and I liked them both.

                                        • Great entry for "No Enemiesz". Also good to see "Giant In My Heart" returning to your Charts this week.

Nice debut Position for Kiesza's debut Album, hope it can Show some longevity here.

Good to see Banks still holding up with the album, I'm still so into it !
Oh glad you love "Crystallize". Unfortunately, as much as i love her, i'd say nothing from her second album comes close to that song but there are still some fantastic songs on it ("Shatter Me", "Roundtable Rival", "Take Flight")... "Take Flight" comes close to "Crystallize" though...

I honestly didn't expect to hear that sound, a bit disappointed to be honest as I expected symphonic rock! Gotta give her more time!

One Republic, Avicii, Ed Sheeran and Maroon 5 are all ace!
                                            Yes, she's slaying
So you didn't know her music before? "Crystallize" was quite popular... but yeah, her music isn't everyone's cup of tea.

                                            Glad you like some entries

I also took the liberty of checking out "Wrapped Up" and "Enemiesz" and I liked them both.

Yay, glad you enjoyed another Lindsey song. Now you should think about buying one of her albums #shamelesspromo
No, really, i'm very happy that you enjoyed all three songs of hers you checked out so far

Glad you like Kiesza's entries this week. Her debut album is pretty good, but the competition right now is really strong so i don't expect her to have lots of success with "Sound Of A Woman"....

i'm little disappointed with new Olly song, and that just really drop for "Try"

Yes, do that you just need to know that she's 'only' playing violin on her main tracks, so no vocals
Same with Olly, he probably drop some places next week. I guess i'll need the album to get into the song more. As for "Try": it did great, the drop is okay and a good placement on the YEC is sure
