Systur were one of my faves from their national final, such a comforting song.
"Ela" was a missed opportunity.
Maneskin new song is a bit dire for me imo.
"Llamame" is an earworm.
All those past ESC winners simultaneously (Loreen, Netta, Conchita, Maneskin) releasing new music during the Eurovision week.

Glad to see some support for Systur! While I'm not surprised they didn't do too well in the final and only barely made it there, I think the song is so beautiful and deserved way more love.
Agreed, still a shocking non-qualifier for me, especially for Cyprus that has become some sort of "fan favorite" lately.
Supermodel was great at first, but I got over it rather quickly, so I'm agreeing with you there - also agreeing with Llamame, one of the biggest growers for me through the live performance!

Yes, and Mans Zelmerlöw also just released a new song! Same thing as every year, but I don't mind that

Ah, I think you didn't watch the semi finals of Eurovision then but only the Grand Final? Glad you checked the #1 out though, it's been my favorite entry and I'm still a bit sad it didn't make it to Saturday night last week.

Singles Top40

Following the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2022, the impact of the biggest music event in the world is still huge and all over the Singles Top40. There’s also a concert effect taking place for the first time in over two years, as Dua Lipa finally held her very first concert in Switzerland. Plus a lot more has been going on this week, but first things first… with a new number one, coming from Chanel, the Spanish entry for the Eurovision Song Contest and her track SloMo. The song has been charting every now and then before starting to finally take off two weeks ago, and it rises 5-1 now following a brilliant performance at the Grand Final. It’s the third Eurovision song to reach the top of the charts following Stefan’s Hope (Estonia, down 9-16 this week) and Andromache’s Ela (Cyprus, moves 1-5 this week). We stay in the Eurovision space when it comes to the Top3 and S10’s De Diepte, as the Dutch entry is a non mover at #3.

Completing the Top3 is the first and highest new entry of the week, which is not linked to Eurovision and the concert effect, but to something else that has become a reliable hit maker in the last few years: RuPaul’s Drag Race! The seventh season of All Stars just started and it’s probably going to be the biggest season ever, as it’s an All Winners season - something the fans has been asking for for years, and we are being served with this! For the first episode, the eight contestants had to write, sing and perform to RuPaul’s track Legends, which debuts at #2 this week. While I usually credited all contestants on these remixes in the past, they aren’t this time, as with eight contestants, the list would simply be too big… but Legends surely counts to each of the queens’ discographies.

Concert effect: As already mentioned, Dua Lipa benefits from what is the very first concert effect in over two years, as her Future Nostalgia World Tour made its stop in Switzerland and besides making some good impacts on the Album Top20 and on the bubbling Under chart, the singer is also back on the Singles Top40 with four of her biggest hits to date: Levitating at #6, Physical at #12, New Rules at #13, and Hallucinate at #21. While Levitating has become her biggest hit of all time on the worldwide charts, the song itself hasn’t been a major hit on My Charts yet and its re-entry nearly matches its original peak.

Eurovision entries this week: With Ochman’s River (2-4, Poland), Systur’s Međ hćkkandi sól (6-8, Iceland) and We Are Domi’s Lights Off (8-9, Czech Republic), there are mostly songs still charting high that were already doing well last week. This years winner - Kalush Orchestra’s Stefania, which represented Ukraine - also reaches the Top10, though doing so for the very first time by moving 13-10. Konstrakta’s In corpore sano (28-11, Serbia), The Rasmus’ Jezebel (27-17, Finland) and Sam Ryder’s Spaceman (29-20, UK) are some of the biggest winners this week, with Brooke’s That’s Rich also being in the Top20 still despite not having been part of the Grand Final (11-15, Ireland). WRS’ Llámame (24-22, Romania), Subwoolfers’ Give That Wolf A Banana (22-23, Norway), Jérémie Makiese’s Miss You (25-24, Belgium), Monika Liu’s Sentimentai (34-25, Lithuania), Sheldon Riley’s Not The Same (16-27, Australia), Alvan feat. Ahez’ Fulenn (19-28, France) and Maro’s Saudade, Saudade (39-30, Portugal) are up next, with the first few of these only moving a very few spots, Lithuania and Portugal being surprising successes, while the others are more surprisingly fallers. Amanda Tenfjord’s Die Together (35-31, Greece), Rosa Linn’s Snap (20-33, Armenia), Lumix feat. Pia Maria’ Halo (21-35, Austria), Emma Muscat’s I Am What I Am (18-37, Malta) Ronela Hajati’s Sekret (15-39, Albania) and Nadir Rustamli’s Fade To Black (30-40, Azerbaijan) are still charting, too. There are also two new and one re-entry, as Germany’s entry with Malik Harris’ Rockstars debuts at #30, Italy’s entry with Mahmood & Blanco’s Brividi arrives at #38, while Sweden’s entry Cornelia Jakobs is back at #34 with Hold Me Closer.

Final Eurovision related shoutouts go to Loreen’s Neon Lights, which drops 17-26, and to last years winner Mĺneskin, who fall 14-36 with their new single Supermodel.

Other new entries this week: There’s one more new entry to go that has nothing to do with the already mentioned things above, and it’s This Hell, the lead single to Rina Sawayama’s upcoming second studio album. The singer has been building up her profile lately and so it’s less surprising to see This Hell immediately reaching the Top10 at #7 this week. Through this, it already becomes her fifth Top10 hit out of eight entries overall.

Other talking points this week: One more thing worth a shoutout, as despite leaving the Top10 for the first time, Faun & Eluveitie’s Gwydion gets certified with Gold this week (7-14).

Konstrakta’s In corpore sano is the biggest climber, while Ronela Hajati’s Sekret is the biggest loser this week.

Album Top20

It’s no surprise at all, but the compilation for the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 spends a third week in a row and fourth overall atop the charts, further extending its lead as the longest running top album of the year. It also gets certified with Gold this week.

Even though the Eurovision compilation was an easy chart topper, the competition was still strong, too, with Dua Lipa’s second album Future Nostalgia making a strong comeback at #2 following her first concert in Switzerland. She benefits from having the first concert effect in over two years.

Closing the Top3 is the highest of four new arrivals: Harry’s House, the third studio album by Harry Styles. While its lead single As It Was wasn’t the biggest hit on My Charts and even though there’s no entry on the singles charts at all this week, the album still makes a great debut and ties his second album Fine Line as Harry’s highest peaking album so far.

Other new entries this week: Australian musician Flume is scoring his very first chart notation, as his third studio album Palaces debuts at #7 this week. This comes as a big surprise, as his second album Skin (2016) failed to enter the Top20 completely. Lykke Li debuts at #10 with Eyeye, her fifth studio album and second to reach the charts, as she previously peaked at #5 with So Sad So Sexy four years ago. Last but not least, Train just miss out on the upper half as their new album AM Gold arrives at #11. It’s also their second chart appearance, though A Girl A Bottle A Boat was way more successful by peaking at #3 back in 2017.

Other talking points this week: Faun’s Pagan (2-4), Rammstein’s Zeit (4-5), Kendrick Lamar’s Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers (6-6) and Sigrid’s How To Let Go (5-8) all hold up really well in these busy times, while Florence + The Machine’s Dance Fever (3-9), The Chainsmoker’s So Far So Good (7-15), Halestorm’s Back From The Dead (10-16) and Miranda Lambert’s Palomino (12-17) are all definitely losing their steam much quicker than expected.

Bubbling Under

With the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 still completely taking over the Singles Top40, most of this weeks new entries have to settle down for the Bubbling Under chart instead. But, the most successful track on this list is coming from Dua Lipa’s concert effect, as the Future Nostalgia album track Pretty Please has been a surprising highlight of the event and makes it all the way to the top this week. It’s getting joined by fellow album track Cool at #7, making this an overall very successful week for the British singer.

With Carrie Underwood’s She Don’t Know (#2), Mabel & 24kGoldn’s Overthinking (#3), Hayley Kiyoko’s For The Girls (#4), Harry Styles’ Late Night Talking (#5), Loredana’s Pinky Promises (#6), Aura Dione’s Marry Me (#9) and Mans Zelmerlöw’s What You Were Made For (#10), there are a lot of the songs on the list this week that would’ve reached the main chart rather easily during less busy weeks. Mans’ new single at #10 deserves a special shoutout, as the Swedish singer won the Eurovision Song Contest with the song Heroes back in 2015, making it yet another former winner who has released a new single during Eurovision weeks.

Speaking of the former winners, Conchita Wurst is the only remaining entry from a week ago, as their current single Car (Idhlargt) falls 1-8.

I don't want to leave a massive comment when you're still trying to catch up, so I'll do a full/proper response to your comments on my last post once you do, but I had to pop in for a quick celebration of that Dua concert effect!

• UKMIXer Fan is a big fan of "SloMo," and some of his enthusiasm has rubbed off on me. Very catchy, very sexy, very fun
• Fabulous Top 10 start for Rina! There's a lot that I like about "This Hell" (the lyrics giving a massive middle-finger to Christian fundamentalism, the references, the Shania/Gaga-gone-country sound), I just wish the chorus hit a bit harder (like "STFU!," "XS," etc). The video might help win me over more, since her visuals are usually stunning
• "Pretty Please" is one of my favorite non-singles on Future Nostalgia (and it has more plays than several of the singles too), but I don't often see it getting a lot of love online, so I fully support that No. 1 Bubbling Under debut
• Akini's chart got me to check out "She Don't Know," and it's definitely the best thing I've heard from Carrie in a while
• "Late Night Talking" is my early favorite on Harry's House, and that catchy chorus should make it a smart second single choice. "I can't get you off my miIiIind..."

Overall I agree with you when it comes to Rina's new single. It's a great lead single and I'm liking it a lot, but there's definitely a tiny bit missing in the chorus that would give the song a true hit status. Still, This Hell is already such a good start for the second album and I'm so excited for the whole record!

Oh wow, great news for Pretty Please then! I never rated it that much when the album got released back in the days, it was actually among my least favorites on Future Nostalgia, so me loving it like that through the concert is a true surprise! Overall, it felt soooo good to finally experience a concert again after over two years, and Dua did fantastic!

Agreed... the lead single for her upcoming album was disappointing to me, but she's going back on track with She Don't Know.

Harry's new album is good - but I'm definitely way less excited than I was when Fine Line came out. What are your feelings for Harry's House so far?

Singles Top40

Nightwish frontwoman Floor Jansen just released her second solo single called Storm this week and the title couldn’t fit more, as following the storm that was the Eurovision craziness, the Dutch songstress takes the top spot right away this week, giving her a third consecutive number one single for her solo discography out of three entries in total.

Dua Lipa’s concert effect is still having an impact and it does so even more than a week ago, as her big hit Levitating even rises 6-3 to reach a completely new peak, and additionally, it ties New Rules and Don’t Start Now as her highest peaking chart entries of all time. Besides Levitating’s rise, the singer also increases with Physical (12-10), New Rules (13-11) and Hallucinate (21-20), with the latter also getting certified with Gold this week. It’s only her fourth certified song besides the already mentioned Physical and New Rules, with the fourth being Prisoner, her collaboration with Miley Cyrus.

Chanel’s SloMo completes the Top3 as the highest Eurovision entry for another week, though the Spanish hit dips 1-2 this week.

Eurovision entries this week: Even though there are still tons of Eurovision entries on the charts this week, most of them already start to lose some steam. But first up is a big re-entry, as Grimes’ Shinigami Eyes makes a stellar comeback at #5 this week. The song has never left the Top20 while being on the charts, though it left them completely due to the Eurovision craziness only to come back just nearly as strong as it started again. With five consecutive weeks at number one, it still holds the title for the longest running number one song of 2022 so far. With Imanbek & Salem Ilese’s Married To Your Melody at #39, there’s another song coming back after falling short due to the Eurovision takeover.

The highest new entry besides Floor Jansen comes in at #14: Overthinking, a collaboration by Mabel and 24kGoldn. This is one of the songs that were already released a week previously and finally not only stands a chance to enter the charts, but immediately gets a great debut with lots of potential to grow even more in the upcoming weeks. Drag Race Espana star Juriji Der Klee debuts at #16 with her debut single XIXI, Felix Jaehn teamed up with Zoe Wees on Do It Better (#23), Drag Race US star Jinkx Monsoon makes her debut with Know-It-All at #29, Potion by Calvin Harris, Dua Lipa and Young Thug arrives at #30, while Hayley Kiyoko’s new single For The Girls is the final debut of the week at #35.

Dua Lipa’s Levitating is the biggest climber, while Taylor Swift’s This Love (Taylor’s Version) drops 19-34 as the biggest loser this week.

Album Top20

Spoiler!

The compilation for the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 keeps topping the charts and it does so for its fifth week now, joining the edition from 2021 as the longest running top compilation of all time through that. Probably even more surprisingly though, it’s also Dua Lipa for yet another week who has been the biggest competition, as the singer spends a second week at #2 with Future Nostalgia through a great concert effect.

Completing the Top3 is Faun, who are rising back up 4-3 with their latest album Pagan. Spending its sixth week in the Top5, the album also gets certified with Gold this week.

New and re-entries this week: Two new arrivals find their way to the charts and both are back to back at #5 and #6, with newcomer Tate McRae being the slightly stronger one. Her debut album I Used To Think I Could Fly also becomes her very first chart notation, while British singer Will Young is right behind her with his best of compilation 20 Years: The Greatest Hits. There are also two re-entries in the lower half of the Album Top20, as Canadian mastermind Grimes comes back with her two evergreens Miss Anthropocene (#13) and Art Angels (#16).

Other talking points this week: From all new entries on last weeks charts, it’s actually Lykke Li’s Eyeye that scores the best second week as it actually rises 10-7. Meanwhile, Rammstein leave the Top5 for the first time with Zeit falling down 5-9, though the album should rise back up next week as the band is likely going to have a concert effect.

Bubbling Under

With Dua Lipa holding up on the Album Top20 and doing even better than last week on the Singles Top40, it’s only even better that she’s also keeping the top spot on the Bubbling Under chart with Pretty Please. The concert effect still lasts and fellow Future Nostalgia album track Cool also keeps charting, though it dips 7-8.

German Industrial Metal band Rammstein released another video for their current album Zeit, this time for the track Dicke Titten, which brings the song to #2 on the Bubbling Under chart this week. Even with an expected concert boost for next week, it’s unlikely that the song will move over to the main chart though, as the band has definitely released many way better singles in their career so far. Tokio Hotel’s When We Were Younger (#6) and Loredana, Céline & Misku / Macloud’s Ballade (#8) are the only other two new entries this week.

The list is being completed by Carrie Underwood’s She Don’t Know (2-3), Harry Styles’ Late Night Talking (5-4), Aura Dione’s Marry Me (9-5), Loredana’s Pinky Promises (6-7) and Conchita Wurst’s Car (Idhalrgt) (8-10).

I knew Screen Violence & IICHLIWP would be there, but also very please to see Star-crossed being among your most played albums of 2021. More surprisingly are Justice and Poster Girl... ok, or let me say the most surprising one is definitely Justice. I had no idea you enjoyed that album so much! Is it your favorite album by Justin (if it is Justin's Justice)?

It was actually the first Bieber album I ever checked out in full, and I was also surprised by how much I liked it It definitely had more keepers among the non-singles/less forgettable filler than I feared!

Yeah, while the charts is definitely very competitive at the moment, nothing behind Gwydion had a true shot at #1 this week, Gwydion has been out for a long time already and going into that week, I was kinda hoping for a new song to be released that immediately snatches my attention and gets a top debut - and then This Love came and made me realize how much I missed Taylor. This Love was actually among my least faves on 1989 and the new version is good, though "weak" still means great for most of Taylor's songs. How are you feeling about the new version?

It's lovely, but because the "Taylor's Versions" are so similar, I'd rather just stick with the originals There's kind of an "uncanny valley" effect where the TV's are almost identical, but something just feels slightly "off" the whole time after hearing the originals for so long. (Which I know is the opposite of the effect she intended by making them sound as similar as possible, but I can be a #flopfan sometimes).

IMO Hold My Hand is great and a lot of people just like to complain It also just rose to #13 on the Swiss Singles Charts, my country just loves Gaga doing ballads it seems, as we were the first country where Shallow became a massive hit, we also supported Million Reasons a lot (Top10 hit) <3 I wouldn't be surprised if Hold My Hand actually becomes a nice hit for her.

Oh wow, great news for Pretty Please then! I never rated it that much when the album got released back in the days, it was actually among my least favorites on Future Nostalgia, so me loving it like that through the concert is a true surprise! Overall, it felt soooo good to finally experience a concert again after over two years, and Dua did fantastic!

Was "Levitating" your favorite performance of the night? Were there any songs that you wanted to see her perform that she left out?

Harry's new album is good - but I'm definitely way less excited than I was when Fine Line came out. What are your feelings for Harry's House so far?

It's the first Harry album I've heard in full, and I'm glad I did, but I haven't gotten quite as excited about him as a lot of other people. It's still fun and fascinating to watch his solo career really blow up ~7 years after 1D's "hiatus," though (and after Zayn was the one to get a headstart on his solo career).

• "Levitating" cruising to a new Top 3 peak over 2 years after the album dropped!
• Woah, "Shimigami Eyes" enjoying a massive re-entry now that Eurovision fever is fading! (I actually peeked in here earlier this week, and that put the song back on my brain too)
• "This Hell" holding up pretty well
• I thought "Potion" was a total misstep at first, but then it clicked in a big way...and now I'm not sure how I feel about it anymore
• Ha, Cheap really wants "For The Girls" to happen, but it's my least favorite of Hayley's PANORAMA singles so far

Very glad you like my latest #1! Not sure if you know, but she's actually the current lead singer of Nightwish (not sure anymore if you're familiar with them)
She's just such a fantastic live singer!

Glad we share our love for Shinigami Eyes, truly a huge highlight of 2022 so far. I really, really hope she follows it up soon. The video also remains unbothered as the best video of the year so far.
And yes, I've seen Dua live two weeks ago, which is why she's back on my radar. Levitating was kinda underrated by me back when it was originally released, so it's nice I'm finally seeing what everyone else already has seen in it.

Ah... the new song is good, but it just doesn't stand out enough to do even better for me. Maybe the album release will change that though!

Woah, but that's great then! To be fair, I still think he has yet to release a true "body of work", an album that is great from start to finish and also works as a whole, instead of the usual singles being the standouts. Is there a standout you really like that wasn't released as a single?

Hmm ok I get that... well, but do the new versions at least make you playing the old stuff from her again? I guess that's also a success in some kind of way... at least the new versions get her back on the map for people.

While Hold My Hand has reached several charts worldwide, Switzerland loooves her yet again as she does the best by far over here. The song just reached #6 on our official charts last week!
Sometimes I'm so positively surprised by our national charts, Shawn Mendes was another nice example of a song doing well basically just here but nowhere else, and it was also a good song.

Yes, pretty much! With Pretty Please being second. Both songs have been stuck in my head for a while after the concert, Pretty Please still appears a lot there. Actually not, I think Hallucinate was one of her more "underrated" songs that I wanted to hear live and she delivered it. Physical was another one I was looking forward to, and she even opened the concert with it!

Oh wow!! Then I really recommend to check out Fine Line in full, it's easily his best full album or even among all One Direction / solo albums! Glad Harry's House made a good impression on you though, it's definitely another good body of work and I really love how he already found his signature style (music & style wise overall). And yes... I think it's not the first time one guy leaves a boyband, has a huge start through that, but in the end, it's always the "main guy" of that band who gets most of the attention and I feel like Harry has always been the center piece of One Direction.

Yes, what a surprise and I'm so here for that! I'm still surprised how long it took to finally click with me and even just hours before the concert, I was listening to it and still wondered what everybody else saw in the song... and then all I needed was that live performance <3

<3 truly a big highlight of 2022 so far. With Eurovision having made such a big impact, I put a few songs on "standby modus" and wanted to check them out again once Eurovision craziness wears off and Shinigami Eyes was one of them. I didn't expect it to make such a big impact again though!

sounds like a rollercoaster ride... but yeah, similar feelings here. Wasn't feeling it much at first, put it at #30 on my charts, then I kinda liked it when I was playing it over the next few days, but somehow totally forgot about it again & now I think it's definitely more like a missstep in Dua's discography.
