My two favourite country artists as your top two - I love to see it! Admittedly, though, I'm not a big "Carolina" fan.

1 (NEW) Taylor Swift – Carolina
    2 (1) Carrie Underwood – She Don’t Know
    7 (6) Grimes – Shinigami Eyes *P*
14 (NEW) Beyoncé – Break My Soul
    16 (7) Chanel – SloMo *G*
27 (14) Demi Lovato – Skin Of My Teeth
    29 (17) Rina Sawayama – This Hell
39 (31) George Ezra – Green Green Grass

(btw but I just hate how it doesn't do well on the charts...)

Also good to know... though honestly, you don't miss out on too much by skipping the semis. Besides the entry for Cyprus that you already heard through my charts, I'd only recommend to check out the Irish entry as well (Brooke with That's Rich). It's very Katy Perry - Teenage Dream era IMO and should've make it through the Grand Final, but it didn't
Yes, I also hate (and am surprised) that it's underperforming so much in the US. Thankfully, though, I think she's at a place in her career where she doesn't have to worry about being dropped by her label or anything like that so I'm happy we got a great album, and hopefully the next era can be better set up for commercial success than this one was.

Just played "That's Rich" and it is very much a bop!

Ah, thanks for letting me know! I've kinda stopped checking out all the re-releases lately because I never see the point of them I liked the old school way of re-releasing way more, like Lady Gaga's The Fame / The Fame Monster or Katy Perry's Teenage Dream.

It was a half year between Fearless & Red, so I'm surprised there are no news about the new TV yet. It must be 1989 though, as we already have to songs from that one. Maybe she waits until the fourth quarter where she often times releases music (= more sales, Christmas gift etc.) and then we may get a completely new record next year. There's also a chance of overkill and we know she's very "clever" with everything she does.

    Also... no love for Carolina?

Ah, so you're still very up to date then! I only check out the Swiss Charts but even then, I'm only scrolling through very quickly as I'm not familiar with 50% of it and don't like 30% of the other half. My own taste shifted completely from the masses' taste in the last 3-5 years

Though even with seats it's not always easy to see everything... everyone was standing up on the Dua Lipa concert and there were even kids standing on the seats, I couldn't see a lot of the actual concert and was low key annoyed (because I buy seat tickets for a reason) but then I realized it's probably the first concert for many people after Covid, so I get why they celebrated & danced like that...

Yep, first time in a while... but, Demons In You that I mentioned failed to show much longevity after these seven weeks at #1, there have been (way) shorter chart-topping tracks that ended up much more successful in the end. It may end up similar with Shinigami Eyes... we will see... but the race for the #1 of 2022 is definitely not as obvious as you may think

    • Calum's so hott but I've never taken much of an interest in his material (aside from some guest appearances, like Naughty Boy's "Undo" and Lost Frequencies's "Where Are You Now"). His own songs often seem a tad too sad/slow/snooze-inducing (like his "Dancing On My Own" cover, or that re-entry at No. 18). Have you come across any quality uptempos from him you could recommend?
    • Congrats to Dua for that Platinum cert! What cert level does her debut album have?

Yet another chart that knows exactly what I like, Tancel!
Well, mission accomplished I guess? But yeah, I saw that she's been doing well on your charts too, so glad you enjoy She Don't Know that much!! Definitely her best hit in several years and fingers crossed they will push it further in the US too.

Yeah... it's not bad, of course, but also lacks some inspiration. It just doesn't click the way I was hoping for.

YES!! I'm super late to the party honestly, only been googling him in the last week Sadly, his whole album is so ballad heavy, what left me slightly disappointed at first, but it's still not a bad album and I grew to enjoy the ballad heaviness. Also, besides that new album & Where Are You Now and You Are The Reason, I don't know his other work and if you don't even like his re-entry this week, I'm worried you like no songs at all Maybe check out Cross Your Mind, my second favorite song on the album.

Dua's debut album is not even Gold and had a very mediocre chartrun: *4*-6-9-15-19-19-19-17-19-16-20-Out-RE 17-Out

    Thank you

Ah, nice seeing you back! Also, Grimes' Shinigami Eyes is actually inspired by Death Note!! I hope you may enjoy the track, it's awesome IMO

But yeah, Switzerland is always so supportive... Million Reasons is still one of her biggest hits over here which feels so random.
You could use swisscharts.com to visit the Swiss Charts... where Hold My Hand is already #5 in the meantime

Speaking of official charts... are you still following them closely?

I'd definitely recommend trying to attend one at some point... maybe once one of your favorite artists comes near to where you live. Also there's always the possibility to get seats instead of standing tickets (I never buy standing tickets... that'd be too much to stand in the whole crowd).

Yep, I wasn't too excited either... also surprising how she already moved on from her album that only got released earlier this year. True Romance is still not a bad song though and would've entered my chart in lots of other weeks (it's just so busy at the moment!).

Totally agree with Alice!! As I'm typing this I'm listening to her current album and it's really good, also much better than her debut album IMO.

Yeah I can see that... but I still enjoy it a lot, too! Excited for the whole album to come out now, as all singles from this project were very good!

Where is I Can't Be Myself from? It wasn't on my tracklist and it's actually pretty good!

Yay! Happy for the effect! I think I already saw a re-entry for Taylor (and for Grimes <3) on your charts earlier this week and thought maybe my survivor was the reason for that. It definitely had me replaying Red (TV) as well and I'm super excited again for new music... already feels like it's time for something new, right?

Surprised to hear Hold My Hand didn't crack the Top40 on the Hot100 yet... just checked and it actually peaked at #49 so far. Also not too bad for what it is I guess?
But yeah, Switzerland is always so supportive... Million Reasons is still one of her biggest hits over here which feels so random.
You could use swisscharts.com to visit the Swiss Charts... where Hold My Hand is already #5 in the meantime

Speaking of official charts... are you still following them closely?

Ah I can relate If it wouldn't be for my partner, I'd be a big homebody too! Still am, but he's at least putting me out every now and then.
I'd definitely recommend trying to attend one at some point... maybe once one of your favorite artists comes near to where you live. Also there's always the possibility to get seats instead of standing tickets (I never buy standing tickets... that'd be too much to stand in the whole crowd).

With me finally catching up again with everything & also finally having played a few more hours of my White playthrough this week after not playing at all for over a month, I really plan to reply back to the private message this week or on Monday, so we could discuss this right there

    • I'm enjoying "So Good," but it's a little sad that Halsey/her team felt the need to put out a brand-new poppier song less than a year after IICHLIWP. That album deserved so much better (but I guess there's only so much we can do about people's trash taste sometimes...)
    • It looks like we're having similar experiences with "Running Up That Hill": I like it, and it's definitely cool watching an "underrated" classic earning new peaks on official charts around the world, but I'm not in love with the song enough to chart it super-high myself
    • Aw, even the album release wasn't enough to help get "She Don't Know" onto the main chart? (Or is it not actually an official single yet)?

Yet another chart that's easy on the eyes, Tancel!
You just made me realize that I kinda forgot that Shinigami Eyes reaching 7 weeks was actually a huge milestone... it hasn't happened since late 2016, when Demons In You by Tarja feat. Alissa White-Gluz did it (even seven consecutive weeks) And it's only the fifth song reaching that milestone within the last 10 years, with the others being Élan by Nightwish (7 weeks in 2015), Break Free by Ariana & Zedd (9 weeks in 2014) and Wrecking Ball by Miley (9 weeks in 2013/2014)!

Completely agree with you when it comes to So Good & the IICHLIWP situation. The album had so much potential and... they kinda just let it go.

I loooove the rebirth on the official charts out there and I always enjoyed it (one of my favorite bands already covered it around 20 years ago or so). But yes, everytime I listen to it, I like it but don't love it or want to repeat it as often as I do many other songs.

I have no idea She Don't Know is one of these cases where I'm lost on wether it's a promo single or just something else. It's surely not an official single yet, as Ghost Story is still the only proper single of the album. But... I'm currently thinking about letting it onto the main charts because I'm obsessed with it and some songs that were just tastes for upcoming albums were also allowed to enter the main charts in the past. We'll see....

    Thank you so much

Thank you! And yes... Carrie delivered again! Honestly, I'm so glad how enjoyable Denim & Rhinestones is, because she's definitely been on a downwards trend that left me worried for her next album and with the new one, she definitely got a lot of my love for her back again <3
