It's growing on me a bit and i listen to it every now and then - so yeah, it could actually climb next week. What do you think about "It Was Always You"?
It's good but not my favorite song off their current Album (so far). Is it a single?
It was 'only' a promo single, "Animals" is the official 2nd single after "Maps"

Oh, some late sympathy for "Prayer in C"? ;) I never thought I'd gonna like this so much. In the end it's kinda too catchy to not like it, perhaps.

You like Indila? Did you already check out Najoua Belyzel? She has a new album coming and a new track out today - "Rendez-vous".

You have a flawless #1 of course.
I really agree with you, she has somehow the same problem like Rita Ora IMO who also lacks a profile/something unique. But i still like both as long as they put a good song out every now and then "Nobody's Perfect" is one of her best IMO, so glad to read you like it too

Haha yeah. I caught myself enjoying it every now and then when they played it on the radio But i don't think it will do too good in the coming weeks tbh...

I love her! Never heard about Najoua but i surely check her out!

    Glad you like it too

    • Woah, Ariana is dominating here. "Best Mistake" is by far the best track out of the three.

Good to see Banks holding on and Maroon 5 entering with "It Was Always You".

Yes, she really is. I'm currently listening to "My Everything" a lot - and as you know, "Best Mistake" is also one of my favorites

Glad you like both entries. And both will actually rise this week

As for "Shake It Off"... it was good at first, but i'm getting more and more disappointed by the sound she's doing now. I don't see it picking up again as of now, maybe the album release can help next month though.

              week 37/2014 – 11 september 2014 she’s a Goddess

              • Singles Top40

In her tenth week on the charts Ariana Grande tops the charts for the ninth time with “Break Free”. So it’s the first calendar year since 2010 with a song topping the charts for so many weeks and the fourth overall after 2007 (Nightwish’s “Amaranth”), 2009 (Miley Cyrus’ “The Climb”) and obviously 2010 (“Can’t Be Tamed”, also by Miley). If Ariana is lucky enough to get a tenth week soon it will be the first time a song would get so many weeks on top in a calendar year.

While the Top10 was pretty quiet lately, the competition isn’t sleeping this week with two big increases, two new entries and one re-entry inside the Top10. The singer with the biggest impact is US newcomer Banks who just released her debut album “Goddess”. The singer already got her first entry three weeks ago with “Beggin For Thread” which profits a lot from the album release and increases 20-2 this week, becoming her first Top10 hit, but not her last... The other big increase goes to Hilary Duff. The singer seemed to get only two mediocre successful hits with “Chasing The Sun” and “All About You”, but out of a sudden (and also thanks to her X-Factor Australia performance) “All About You” becomes her first Top10 notation by rising 13-3 this week. While “Chasing The Sun” was a promo single (and dives 22-34 this week, by the way), “All About You” is the first official single of her upcoming fifth studio album.

The first of the two high arrivals just misses the Top3 by debuting at #4. It’s another single from Banks’ debut album and is called “Waiting Game”. Sam Smith slips one place down to #5 with “I’m Not The Only One” while Anette Olzon remains surprisingly stable with “Lies” at #6. After the #6-peaking “Fancy”, “Black Widow” is the next single from australian rapper Iggy Azalea. The song features Rita Ora who got a big hit on her own earlier this year with the #8-peaking “I Will Never Let You Down”. “Black Widow” now becomes another Top10 hit for both with debuting at #7 this week, a very big improvement as both “Fancy” and “Never” started outside the Top30. “Bang Bang” by Jessie J & Co. continues with its strange chartrun and falls 2-8, “Best Mistake” by Ariana Grande leaves the Top3 after three weeks by falling 3-9. Finally, closing the Top10 is the re-entry. Paloma Faith gets her first Top10 hit with “Only Love Can Hurt Like This”, which debuted and peaked at #37 earlier this week and now outpeaks “Can’t Rely On You” (#17) as her highest-peaking single.

Ed Sheeran leaves the Top10 for the first time with “Don’t” (8-11), same for “Drunk Tonight” by Emmelie de Forest (5-12). Also out of the Top10 are “Lovers On The Sun” by David Guetta (10-13), Lindsey Stirling’s “Shatter Me” (7-14) and the big european hit “Prayer In C” (9-19). Foxes’ gets her second Top20 entry this year with “Glorious” rising 28-18, joining “Let Go For Tonight” which peaked at #17 earlier this year.

There are four more new entries in the lower part of the charts. Banks’ third arrival “Drowning” just misses the upper half with its debut at #21. The third single from Paloma Faith’s third album “A Perfect Contradiction” is called “Trouble With My Baby” and comes in at #23. The last entries are “True Love” by Coldplay at #32 and “The Chamber” by Lenny Kravitz at #39.

Maroon 5 get new peaks with both of their charting songs. “It Was Always You” increases 27-22 with the potential of becoming their first Top20 hit, and “Maps” reaches the Top30 by rising 35-29. Christina Perri is down 17-24 with “Burning Gold”, but celebrates her tenth week on the charts. Also leaving the Top20 is Taylor Swift who falls 16-25 with “Shake It Off” after only three weeks, and Nicki Minaj’s “Anaconda” (19-30). Finally, Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball” slips 37-40, being on the last place of the charts now. Maybe that’s the end after impressive 55 weeks on the charts?

Banks’ “Beggin For Thread” is the biggest climber while Train’s “Angel In Blue Jeans” is the biggest loser by falling 18-36.

              • Album Top20

It was a tough race for the first spot on the Album Top20 but in the end it’s Ariana Grande who won. The new diva gets a third straight week on top with “My Everything”, becoming the fifth album with at least three weeks on top this year and the third with its first three weeks on top so far.

The strongest competition was the debut album by Banks called “Goddess”. The album pushed two singles into the Top5 this week and also debuts at #2. Anette Olzon remains at number three with “Shine”.

Also remaining on the same position like last week is Lindsey Stirling’s “Shatter Me”. It’s at number four for the third week in a row now and with the upcoming concert in a month and a half she should continue with having a good chartrun. Amy Lee is down 2-5 with “Aftermath” in her second week. Sam Smith slips 5-6 with “In The Lonely Hour” while Ed Sheeran is up one position to #7 with “x”. After the debut last week, Maroon 5 are already down 6-8 with “V”, missing the chance to reach the Top5. Lana Del Rey’s “Ultraviolence” (12-9) and Within Temptation’s “Hydra” (11-10) are both back into the Top10.

Paloma Faith not only gets one strong re-entry and one new entry on the Singles Top40, her album also climbs back on the Album Top20 at #11. It previously charted for only two weeks, debuting and peaking at #7 earlier this year, so this ‘comeback’ is definitely outstanding for her. The never-dying “Utopia” by Kerli falls out of the Top10 (7-12) just like Ariana Grande’s “Yours Truly” (9-14) and “The Very Best Of...” by Dolly Parton (10-15).

After falling some places week by week, Marlon Roudette’s second solo album “Electric Soul” finally starts to climb again, up 20-13 this week. Meanwhile, Kerli’s “Love Is Dead” falls 13-18, but that’s not bad at all for her as the album gets certified with 3x Platinum – and that’s with a #5-peak! There are only twelve albums with the same or a higher certifications, and all of them topped the weekly album charts for at least one week, so that’s truly impressive for Kerli.

              • Airplay Top10

Even in the third week it’s still Ariana Grande who has the most entries on the Airplay Top10, but there are also three new entries including one directly on top. The lucky one is ex disney sensation Hilary Duff. She never scored hits on the charts until “Chasing The Sun” became a Top30 hit a few weeks ago and peaked inside the Top20 a little bit later. The follow-up “All About You” gets even more success now, becoming her first Top10 hit on the Singles Top40 this week and now also her first charting song on the Airplay Top10 with a debut at number one.

“Break Free” by Ariana Grande remains strong and slips 1-2 in its tenth week. It’s only the second song which spends ten or more weeks on the airplay charts this year so far after Anette Olzon’s “Moving Away”. Rounding up the Top3 is newcomer Banks who arrives with “Beggin For Thread”.

“One Last Time” by Ariana goes down to number four again while a second entry from Banks called “Waiting Game” is new at #5. “Love Me Harder” leaves the Top3 after two weeks (3-6), “Bang Bang” falls 4-7, “Best Mistake” is also down by three places (5-8), “Be My Baby” slips 8-9 and “Break Your Heart Right Back” closes the Top10 for the third time in a row.

Plays of the Top10 went down by 176 to 362 (-32.7%) compared to last week.

                • Not Ariana blocking Banks everywhere.

Anyway, amazing rise for "Beggin For Thread". I'm still not tired of the song, a very good piece of pop music.
Great to see "Waiting Game" enter, it's one of my favorites from her and her vocals on it are just stunning. The production is kind of uplifting as well, I love that.
"Drowning" is one of her top tracks - her third best, I reckon - it perfectly fuses R&B and Pop sounds and it has great lyrics, especially in the bridge.

Good to see the album surging at #2 too !

Apart from Banks, still good to see Maroon 5 plus Coldplay and Iggy with "Black Widow", quite a catchy song. =)

Evanescence slay lives btw, my favourite band.
                        Glad you like these entries!

Oh really? Good to know - i adored them back in 2006/2007! I still like them a lot of course, but i prefer bands like Nightwish & Within Temptation to them now. Do you like these bands too?
Yeah Evanescence is my all-time fav band, I basically love everything they’ve ever released, which is only 3 albums but all three are some of my favourite albums ever.

Not really into those bands tbh, I did try though. Dan (Airwrecka) recommended a few tracks and an album by Within Temptation but I didn’t like the lead singers voice. I did like a Nightwish song, can’t remember the name, but never pursued it any further, I probably will at some point when I get a chance.

Oh really interesting to know! I truly hope there's a fourth album coming by them soon... at least in 2015...

Ah okay, kinda sad you don't like them that much. I know a lot NW/WT fans who like Evanesence and it's often the other way too as all of them made kinda similar music back in the days IMO. Anyway, nowadays WT is way more rock/pop while NW went to a more orchestral sound...

...really glad to see you like so many songs on my charts!
And agree about "Only Love..." and it should reach a new peak this week again

It really is! I really love it now, also due to her performances in Australia! I really hope it becomes at least a moderate hit in a few countries... i'm now also really excited for the album

                                  • Singles Top40

I guess no one expected to see a new number one this week, and especially not this one. But after the already surprising high debut at #7 last week, Iggy Azalea’s “Black Widow” rises to the top, becoming her first hit as a lead artist to do so and second overall after Ariana’s “Problem” hit the top earlier this year. Her only other charting single “Fancy” stopped at #6, so that’s a big improvement for the australian rapper, but also for Rita Ora, who scored her own biggest hit just earlier this year with “I Will Never Let You Down” which peaked at #8. Hilary Duff nearly got her first chart topper, but now “All About You” at least increases 3-2. Rounding up the Top3 is Ariana Grande’s “Break Free”, which falls down from the top position after three consecutive weeks and nine overall.

Anette Olzon’s “Lies” seem to never die, and so the song climbs back up 6-4 this time. Paloma Faith reaches a new peak for “Only Love Can Hurt Like This”, going up 10-5 after the big re-entry the last time, while newcomer Banks already goes down 2-6 with “Beggin For Thread”. Banks’ other charting Top10 entry “Waiting Game” is just behind at #7, going down from the number four debut last week. Sam Smith’s “I’m Not The Only One” is down three places too (5-8) while Ed Sheeran is back in the Top10 with “Don’t” (11-9). As if there aren’t enough singers from the UK in the Top10 this week, Paloma even gets another hit as current single “Trouble With My Baby” rises 23-10.

Banks gets a third Top20 entry with “Drowning” going up 21-11 in its second week, meanwhile Maroon 5 get their first Top20 ever with “It Was Always You” increasing by ten places too, up 22-12. Two songs fall out of the Top10; Ariana Grande’s “Best Mistake” (9-14) and “Bang Bang” by Jessie J, Ariana and Nicki Minaj (8-18). While UK singer Foxes gets her highest charting single ever with “Glorious” (18-15), “Shatter Me” by Lindsey Stirling reaches a new all-time-low (14-17) but it’s charting for 20 weeks now.

Seven new entries made their way to the charts this time, quite a lot, but none of them reaches the upper half of the charts. The highest entry is called “Staring At The Sun”, the new single by Anastacia and the follow-up to the big hit “Stupid Little Things”. The song starts at #22, a little improvement to the start of the previous single six places lower. Kiesza also got a good hit earlier this year with “Hideaway” which peaked at #4 and gets an entry with the follow-up called “Giants In My Heart” at #26, just one place higher than Sigma and Paloma Faith’s “Changing” makes its entry. Two of the four remaining debuts are by Chris Brown, who just released his new album “X”. The single “New Flame” comes in at #31 while another single called “Loyal” starts a bit lower at #38. Finally, the last two songs are follow-ups by two acts known from this years Eurovision Song Contest; Elaiza and The Common Linnets. German band Elaiza hit the top earlier this year with their ESC entry “Is It Right”, but started to fell fast... and now the second single of their debut album is called “I Don’t Love You”, coming in at #36. The follow-up to the dutch entry “Calm After The Storm” is called “Give Me A Reason” and nearly missed to make a debut as it’s new at #40.

There are three songs that fall out of the upper half. While “Prayer In C” by Lilly Wood & The Prick and Robin Schulz (19-24) and Linkin Park’s “Final Masquerade” (20-25) never were big hits, the third was actually one so its fast drop is quite surprising. It’s “And We Run” by Within Temptation, which spent impressive 13 weeks inside the Top10, but only three more inside the Top20 and now it’s already down 17-23. The last thing to mention is Ariana Grande’s “Problem” which celebrates its 20th week on the charts. It’s only her second song to do so after “The Way” (24 weeks in total), but it’s pretty safe to say it’s not her last.

Paloma Faith’s “Trouble With My Baby” is the biggest climber while “Bang Bang” by Jessie J & Co is the biggest loser.

It was an exciting week on the Album Top20 with two new entries, and while one of them makes its entry very low, the other just missed to get a top debut. But let’s take a look at the number one at first: Anette Olzon is back on top with “Shine”, climbing 3-1 in her 25th week on the charts. It’s the albums 8th non-consecutive week on top, becoming the first album to spend so many weeks on top since Lana Del Rey spent 12 weeks at number one with “Born To Die” in 2012. Last year’s longest running number one album was Kerli’s “Utopia” with seven weeks (down 12-15 this time).

US R&B singer Chris Brown released his sixth studio album called “X” and just missed the opportunity to get a top debut, but still makes an impressive appearance at number two. It’s his second album to make an entry, his fifth record “Fortune” also peaked at #2 a week after debuting at #4. Banks slips 2-3 with “Goddess”, rounding up the Top3.

After three consecutive weeks on top Ariana Grande’s “My Everything” falls 1-4. Due to the new success of two of her singles, Paloma Faith also increases a lot with “A Perfect Contradiction”, going up 11-5 this week and reach a new peak after the debut at #7 earlier this year. Sam Smith remains stable at number six with his debut “In The Lonely Hour”, Lindsey Stirling is down 4-7 with “Shatter Me” while celebrating the 20th week on the charts and Ed Sheeran slips 7-8 with “x”. Another albums climbs back into the Top10 with Marlon Roudette’s “Electric Soul” rising 13-9, it previously debuted and peaked at #5 five weeks ago. Closing the Top10 is Amy Lee whose “Aftermath” falls 5-10.

Lana Del Rey already falls out of the Top10 with “Ultraviolence” after the short visit (9-11), same for Within Temptation’s “Hydra” (10-12). Also out of the Top10 are Maroon 5 with their fifth album “V”, but they’re that low for the first time (8-13).

As shortly mentioned there was a second new entry but lower, and it’s the irish band U2 with their album “Songs Of Innocence”. The album can be found on iTunes for free, so even if you don’t like their music you still get it, and that’s also why it doesn’t debut higher as I’m not the biggest fan of them – but nevertheless, it’s still an entry and it’s their first ever, so it’s better than nothing. A little comeback closes the Top20 as Lindsey Stirling is back at #20 with her self-titled debut album.

After three weeks of Ariana-domination, all tracks by the US superstar have to leave the charts and it’s Anette Olzon who reigns again. But while the singer got incredible seven out of ten entries, the whole Top3 belongs to other acts.

Iggy Azalea makes her charts debut on the Airplay Top10 as a lead artist with “Black Widow”, debuting at #1. Overall it’s her second entry after being featured on Ariana’s “Problem” which hit #1 on the charts earlier that year. Rita Ora, who is featured on “Black Widow”, got one entry as a lead artist so far with “I Will Never Let You Down” which debuted and peaked at #8 earlier this year. Hilary Duff slips 1-2 with “All About You”, despite getting more plays than the last time and Chris Brown’s album track “Don’t Be Gone Too Long” closes the Top3.

As mentioned the rest of the charts is full of Anette, and quite unsurprisingly it’s “Moving Away” which makes the highest re-entry at #4. It’s followed by the single “Lies” at #5, ballad “Invincible” is back at #6, “Floating” at #7, album opener “Like A Show Inside My Head” comes in at #8, title track “Shine” at #9 and “One Million Faces” is the last re-entry at #10. All three missing tracks from her album got 18 plays, so only one less than the number ten this week. Also, some interesting facts: “Lies”, “Invincible” and “Floating” are charting for their tenth week, plus the title track re-peaks at #4 for a fourth non-consecutive week.

Chris Brown’s “Autumn Leaves” with ten plays and Paloma Faith’s “Only Love Can Hurt Like This” with eight plays aren’t too far away from an entry. Maybe it will be enough the next time?

Plays of the Top10 went up by 7 to 369 (+1.9%) compared to last week.
