    • Oh gosh, I didn't know about the new Amy Lee's song! And I've been Evanescence's fan for years...
Not so many of my favourites, but somehow I kinda like your chart. Just one, sort of stupid maybe, question: why are there so few German/Schwizertuutsch songs on your chart?
Have you heard Ava's "Salt"? I find it better than SBP/SAI/Torn (though I like all three) - feeling that old 90's vibe there

Btw., have been to Zurich (well, due to being my transfer hub on the road to Turkey, but nevertheless) on March. I've really enjoyed the city - and also the fact that the airport is actually in a reasonable walking distance, not some 30 kms or more from the city centre...

        Thanks for coming by!

Yeah, she collaborated on a song of Lindsey Stirling's new album and I think it's amazing. Maybe you've already heard about Evanescence's European tour next year together with Within Temptation? They also said they plan to release new music in 2020 so I'm super excited about that!
Thanks! And that's not a stupid question... actually, there are no stupid questions, only stupid answers I don't know why, but somehow songs in Swiss-German/German rarely click with me. It happens more often that one of those is doing well for me lately, but I still prefer English songs. No idea why, but I just like them more.
        No, I haven't - I'll check it out!

Oh... glad you've enjoyed the city! It's definitely a beautiful one

Or work; when there's a shutdown (already happened around three times in the last ten years) we can't do anything at all because we rely so much on our computer, our system and everything is saved there. It's obviously impossible to live our daily life without technology and even though I think something 'negative' may happen one day (wether it is a huge shutdown, maybe because of a sun eruption, or something else... like going as far as saying technology may be more intelligent than us at some point which may be a huge risk for us) I still don't do something to avoid that and everyone is like that. So that's kinda worrying, because you never know what the future brings. On the other side, it's probably too soon to worry about these things now but it's definitely also worrying that we would be lost if something actually happens...

What are your thoughts about this?
**Nod** Well said! The fact that so much data is stored online or "in the cloud" now not only means we could instantly lose days/months/years' worth of work, but also have our bank/credit card information or entire identity stolen (as opposed to "back in the day," where someone would have to physically mug you or break into your house to steal your important documents, money, etc). I think I've mentioned this before, but I also worry about how technology isolates us. In many ways, technology does bring people together, but it also encourages people to live their entire social lives via screens and rarely engage with people in "real life." Even though we can text friends anywhere anytime, which is awesome, it can also feel really lonely if none of those friends live close enough to actually go out/hang out with. Not only does that leave us lonely, but disconnected/less empathic in general (due to minimal face-to-face contact).

Same! I mean, a higher peak would be appreciated too but longevity like "Delicate" would be nice enough.

Fingers crossed the song will grow on me - it didn't stand out to me after the first spins of "Sunshine Kitty" though Excited to hear your thoughts about the album; I've already dived a bit into it yesterday and it's already so much better than "Blue Lips"!
Well...right now, I'd say Sunshine Kitty is my least favorite album of Tove's but I often feel that way about an artist's most recent release, possibly because I need more time to grow attached to all these brand-new songs (unless they're REALLY charming right away, like much of Lover). I usually need more than a week to properly sort out my faves from the fillers. It also doesn't help that SK dropped shortly after two more "instant" albums like Lover and Charli.

Sounds like you should just start embracing your bodeh as it is now, then That way, if/when you do end up hitting the gym more often, we can all watch you evolve from hott -> mega hott.

This week has been very stressful again and my to do list at work is only getting bigger with each day, but I'm still fine with that and I will work it out for sure. Fortunately, due to all good new releases lately I'm definitely enjoying the music a lot right now and I definitely keep on posting My Charts for as long as possible, I just need to find a way to compile & post them with my new schedule in 'real life'. Also cool you're mentioning that survivor as it re-ally brought back a lot of joy when it comes to UKMix... I mean, back when I joined it used to be that busy in all places on the forum and I've really missed that, actually I've been thinking about these 'old' time a lot lately...
**Hug** Blah @ work still being such a hectic stressfest, but I'm glad to hear running the Madame X Survivor was fun/refreshing for you! It was so incredibly popular, I thought it might just add to your stress.

Yeah, I've never really gotten into Lana (the Cedric Gervais Remix of "Summertime Sadness" is her only Top 10 on my chart), but I don't think she's the reason I don't love DCMA. It's just not catchy/infectious overall (the chorus doesn't stick in my head, or make me want to sing along - it just makes me want to listen to other Ari songs).

Aw, I enjoy "Genetics", it has a "Me Too" vibe to it for me
Ah, true that! Very similar vibes/attitude.

          • Meghan's randomly dropped a few new songs lately ("Run Like The River," "Genetics"), but I completely forgot to add this one so thanks for the reminder! On first listen, it sounds pretty different for her. I don't hear any trace of doo-wop or her usual body positivity/"I'm hot shit, so you best respect" themes. In honor of her first No. 1 here, I've gotta ask for her updated chart history!
          • Aw, sorry I missed Grimes's week on top. Your enthusiasm for "Violence" has definitely encouraged me to give it more listens, and while I don't think it'll ever grow on me quite as much as it did on you, I'm warming up to it more now.
          • I forgot about Zedd's new single too! I guess one "downside"/side effect to streaming is that I can focus on full albums so easily (Lover, Charli, Sunshine Kitty), I sometimes forget to check for random new singles too. Funnily, I was just saying how Meghan's new single is void of doo-wop, but "Good Thing" actually has a slight retro-soul/doo-wop feel to it!
          • Hmmm...a No. 3 debut is still quite good, but I was expecting even higher for Sunshine Kitty after seeing you mention how you liked it a lot more than Blue Lips. Did that excitement wear off as the week progressed, or was competition just that stiff? (I know Lindsey's a legendary force here, so going up against her isn't easy).

Yet another chart I loved diving into, Tancel!

Exactly! We depend so much on all these things and I think we can be 'defeated' so easily these days. Ah yes, I think we actually talked about that a few weeks (or even months?) ago when we were talking about instagram & stuff like that. I think it was when I asked you about making an account for you or something like that - and look where we are now Anyways, I completely agree with you on that. You can already see how the youth of today changed completely compared to the youth from only ten years ago. I'm definitely worried about our future but fingers crossed it will turn out well and technology will keep on saving our daily lives...

Oh, of course I'd appreciate a higher peak as well! But I'd be fine if it's more the moderate hit with longevity = album seller type of hit instead of a high peaking, but fast falling single. I also can see "Lover" carrying the album through the rest of the year as it seems to be the perfect choice for the upcoming time of the year. And then follow it up with the fourth single in early 2020 including a performance at the Grammys. And speaking about the fourth single, would you have a favorite one if you would have to pick the next single? Mine would probably be "Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince"...

Ok, this comes as a surprise to me - but to be fair, she already released three good albums for you so it's probably not easy to top that. I think this happens a lot with artists that keep on releasing good albums (Lana would be an example for myself, her new one is great but doesn't have the same impact on me as her previous ones). So it will be very interesting to hear your thoughts about "Sunshine Kitty" at a later point I get your last point, it's been a busy and very strong few weeks lately!

Hm. I actually do that usually, but I still don't feel it's post-worthy or so. Thinking about it... sharing body pics has never been something I did, not even back when I was on gay forums and wasn't in a relationship... But what about a deal? I show you mine if you show me yours?

<3 Well, it's also a lot of emotional stress and that's what's more exhausting to me. Plus, there's someone who I work close with that is rather conservative and this is (thank god, actually) the first time someone 'near' to me isn't a 'fan' of me being gay, so I'm also not really comfortable with talking about what I'm doing on the weekend etc.. I know I should just ignore it, but that's easier said than done. Anyways, as I previously said, I keep thinking that it will be worth it and at least my boss seems to be very happy with me and my work so far.

Also, sorry for me being completely ignorant, but is it possible that I've never asked you about YOUR work? Hope you're at a good place!

As for the Madonna survivor; I was thinking the same at first, but after 2-3 days it was extremely fun to keep on checking the votes and seeing all those different voters. Definitely my most favorite survivor as a host so far!

Haha Well, I can't blame you, because Lana's only hit in the US was that remix. I'm still surprised how she scored such a big hit with "Video Games" in Europe while it only peaked at something #90-ish on the Hot100 despite a SNL performance. I get your thoughts on DCMA and it seems a lot of people think similarly, as the song has some terrible second week drops on the charts out there...

Oh! I actually feared that once I'm finally in love with one of Meghan's songs again, you won't be as enthusiastic as you were with some of her previous singles But to be honest, it feels like my taste has been quite 'against the stream' lately (Grimes' "Violence" being another example, or me loving Lindsey's new album so, so much - it currently gets me much more than her last one did in its debut month, while it's by far her biggest flop on the charts so far... or me finally having Julia Michaels on the radar while she stopped getting hits on the charts out there). So I really hope this will end up sticking with you as it's already my all time favorite from her

Sure - here is Meghan Trainor's Discography (trying to post it as a picture this time )

(I only realized now that all of her album/EP-releases start with a T... Treat Myself included )

No problem I knew "Violence" wasn't your most favorite song by Grimes at all, so I'm very happy to hear My Charts brought it back on your radar! Fingers crossed it becomes a grower for you What do you think about its music video?

Haha, I feel you! I've started to get a new strategy: I've started to check out Apple Music's New Music Playlist every Friday morning, go through that list and add to my library whatever interests me, listen to everything once and maybe delete some things again when I know that it's nothing I'd play much. Maybe that's also something for you? Though it takes some time, especially in busy weeks with lots of good releases... Ah, never looked at "Good Thing" like that! It's definitely a cool song and a nice change following three or four versions of "Stay", but it's still not as good as most of his latest singles...

It was the competition. As you say, Lindsey is basically on her own league at the moment, so there's only Sofi Tukker above Tove Lo and their new EP really got me, I've been bopping to it a lot. Lana and Tarja (below Tove Lo in her debut week) are both very successful on my album charts ever since they debuted / I started to compile them, so Tove debuting above them when "Blue Lips" went 8-18-Out is definitely a big achievement and I'm quite confident it ends up as her third Gold certified album here

            Thank you so much

Glad you like Meghan's success here! "Wave" has been such a huge surprise to me! And yes, "Me Too" has definitely been a favorite in her discography so far

Well... "Don't Call Me Angel" is cute, but after liking it a lot during its first weeks, I've started to get over it rather quickly lately

This one is not bad, I'd even say leftfield by Mark Ronson's standards.

Glad to hear you're enjoying this! I think it's definitely one of Mark's better songs and I love YEBBA's vocals. Fingers crossed this becomes a hit in the UK at least.

                              • Hi Tansike

I got so used to your new charts being posted on Thursdays it's kinda thrown me that you now update them over the weekend.

1 (1) Meghan Trainor feat. Mike Sabath – Wave

Great to see Meghan Trainor enjoying such a successful hit in your chart. Wave is a good track, certainly her best in a while imo. I do wonder whether Meghan will ever have another bonafide smash again when it comes to the charts.

10 (NEW) Niall Horan – Nice To Meet Ya

100% <3 His first top ten entry in your chart so a very pleasing result for Mr Horan. Clearly this is going to be overshadowed by @stevvy when his new chart is published. <3

14 (NEW) Mark Ronson feat. YEBBA – Don’t Leave Me Lonely

As i posted in my chart thread, i'm really happy they shot a music video for this track. It's easily one of Mark Ronson's best tracks he's done although i still rate Nothing breaks like a heart in higher regard.

15 (NEW) Camila Cabello – Cry For Me

I commented in the pop forum about how i find Camila so inconsistent as a popstar. We get a juicy delicious gem but then there's just a batch of underwhelming songs to accompany the "hit". Sadly Cry for me falls into the batch of underwhelming songs for me. I still think Liar is great but at her current rate, it's going to be the only song from this campaign that i'm going to genuinely love.

                                16 (13) Halsey – Graveyard

Naturally it takes the release of the music video to make me sit up and pay attention. A bit like Without me, this is finally set to enter my chart which i'm sure you will be happy about. I much prefer this over the last couple of songs Halsey has released. It looks like it might become something of a hit which is also a great result for Halsey too.

17 (NEW) Loreen – Walk With Me

It's no Euphoria but at this stage i'm not expecting Loreen to ever release another banger to match the perfection of that song. Shame but i kinda admire Loreen for being so experimental with her music even if the songs don't quite have that same level of impact on me.

                                37 (RE) Lindsey Stirling – Crystallize *4xP*
                                Chart Run: *2*-2-2-5-3-8-11-14-10-10-5-2-7-12-15-14-14-16-16-17-20-20-23-24-27-21-19-22-24-21-22-24-19-23-24-15-22-23-26-14-9-13-18-21-24-25-30-26-28-33-27-25-23-29-32-37-36-Out-RE 11-8-13-24-16-27-29-26-30-29-34-38-35-33-38-Out-RE 39-3-8-16-26-37-Out-RE 6-13-22-37-Out-RE 37- / 83w

Just highlighting Crystallize for this epic chart run. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see this song get more weeks in your chart in the future. Once a classic, always a classic! Just a shame i only discovered the track about 4-5 years ago (well, at least i discovered the song eventually but still )

I got so used to your new charts being posted on Thursdays it's kinda thrown me that you now update them over the weekend.
                                  Hey Jake
                                  Thanks for coming by!

Haha... I know... I've changed my job and so I have to change some other things as well, and posting on a Thursday has become nearly impossible for me, so I had move the 'posting time' to the weekend and with no fixed day. Somehow I hope this may change again as I also enjoyed having a clear day, but otherwise it's less stressful the way it is now

Great to see Meghan Trainor enjoying such a successful hit in your chart. Wave is a good track, certainly her best in a while imo. I do wonder whether Meghan will ever have another bonafide smash again when it comes to the charts.
So happy to hear you're also enjoying this more than her latest singles! That's what I'm wondering as well - unfortunately, I think it will be nearly impossible to smash again for her. It's a shame how she, Charlie Puth and Carly Rae Jepsen all sit in a similar boat with still doing great pop music but having such struggles of getting the hits they deserve

100% <3 His first top ten entry in your chart so a very pleasing result for Mr Horan. Clearly this is going to be overshadowed by @stevvy when his new chart is published. <3
Glad you like his debut here! Haha yes, he will slay stevvy's chart! It's nice to see how popular Niall is with a few on here, though I still think he's too underrated and deserves even more. With his Spotify positions rising, I really hope "Nice To Meet Ya" can be a nice hit for him.

As i posted in my chart thread, i'm really happy they shot a music video for this track. It's easily one of Mark Ronson's best tracks he's done although i still rate Nothing breaks like a heart in higher regard.
Completely the same for me! It's one of Mark's best songs though it doesn't come close to NBLAH for me.

Aw, that's sad to hear, as I think "Cry For Me" has a major Marina (And The Diamonds) vibe in the chorus and I love that, I'd also pick it as my favorite song of "Romance" so far. But as messy and inconsistent her current releases are: There's at least something for everyone

Great news! I still think it's not on the same level as most songs on her last album, but she has definitely became a reliable hit maker which is cool, because she seems to be a great person. I guess this means you enjoyed the video?

It's no Euphoria but at this stage i'm not expecting Loreen to ever release another banger to match the perfection of that song. Shame but i kinda admire Loreen for being so experimental with her music even if the songs don't quite have that same level of impact on me.
Agreed. To be fair, "Euphoria" is also a song I'd call a masterpiece, but I even think she'll never come close to other songs from "Heal" as well. It's sad to me as someone who absolutely adored "Heal", but at the same time I'm feeling similar and I'm happy that she can do whatever she wants and it's still cool what she is doing, even though it's also not for me.

Just highlighting Crystallize for this epic chart run. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see this song get more weeks in your chart in the future. Once a classic, always a classic! Just a shame i only discovered the track about 4-5 years ago (well, at least i discovered the song eventually but still )
Yes, this is probably going to make several appearances over the next few years and who knows, maybe it will even end up with 100+ weeks at some point. It's pretty crazy that it never hit #1 on my charts though. Ha, don't worry, 4-5 years ago isn't that much time ago and as you say, at least you discovered it!

Agreed! This didn't work for me when it came out, but listening to the album it was a clear standout and I've started to become obsessed with this, so it may rise even further in the upcoming weeks

And again: agreed! It's not bad (especially compared to a lot of other songs that are on the charts out there) but I definitely prefer Niall's new song.

Hey Belpop - thanks for coming by!

Glad there are some entries that you enjoy on my charts! Yes, Indila's comeback has been weird, but I'm glad that she's at least back and somehow I think it was just a first taste and the real comeback single (with video & promotion) will hopefully come soon.

**Nod** "Lover" definitely has that wintry-ballad feel to it (and she even mentions Christmas in the lyrics, making it even MORE fitting for the upcoming season). I knew "Miss Americana" was one of your personal favorites, but it strikes me as a pretty risky single choice! "The Man" seems like the most obvious/safest choice, based on how much attention it got when the album dropped, but there's still several radio-friendly/mass-appeal options left, so hopefully she keeps actively promoting this era longer than she did reputation.

Thinking about it... sharing body pics has never been something I did, not even back when I was on gay forums and wasn't in a relationship... But what about a deal? Oh my! That sounds like the kind of deal that's best discussed via private messages.

Ugh, that sucks As if starting a new job wasn't stressful enough, now you have to tiptoe around this asshole too. SMH. Like you said, simply avoiding the topic isn't as easy as people think, since co-workers often ask about your weekend plans, who you think is the cutest in the office, who you're spending holidays with, who that guy is in the picture on your desk, etc. Our romantic partners are a big part of our lives, and straight people take for granted that it's never an issue when they casually mention theirs in the workplace. (Well, unless their partner is the boss's son/daughter or something...)

Fabulous! It's awesome that your favorite Survivor to run was also your most popular (unless you had an older one that was even bigger...?)

So I really hope this will end up sticking with you as it's already my all time favorite from her
Aw, sorry to let you down there Even though "Wave" probably won't become one of my favorite M-Train singles, I'm definitely still rooting for her success (not like my support's been doing her much good these past couple years).

Thanks! It's extra-convenient having it embedded right in the post as a picture, so well done there! I'd forgotten just how minor/average Meghan's first era was on your chart (only one Top 10 hit, no certs at all). She still doesn't have any Platinum certs to her name, so hopefully "Wave" can change that!

Well, her commitment to her visuals/aesthetic (album art, videos, etc) definitely elevates her as an artist, but the "Violence" vid still doesn't hit me quite as hard as several of the Art Angels clips (or even "We Appreciate Power," though that vid did get a bit repetitive, like the song itself).

I've started to get a new strategy: I've started to check out Apple Music's New Music Playlist every Friday morning, go through that list and add to my library whatever interests me, listen to everything once and maybe delete some things again when I know that it's nothing I'd play much. Maybe that's also something for you? Though it takes some time, especially in busy weeks with lots of good releases.
Ah, that's a VERY smart way of keeping up with new releases! That approach does seem like kind of a "big commitment" (which sounds silly to say, since it's just listening to music, but like you said, it does require setting aside a chunk of time), but that's probably one of the best ways to discover songs by unfamiliar acts (aside from personal charts).

As you say, Lindsey is basically on her own league at the moment, so there's only Sofi Tukker above Tove Lo and their new EP really got me, I've been bopping to it a lot. Lana and Tarja (below Tove Lo in her debut week) are both very successful on my album charts ever since they debuted / I started to compile them, so Tove debuting above them when "Blue Lips" went 8-18-Out is definitely a big achievement and I'm quite confident it ends up as her third Gold certified album here
Makes sense, and compared to Blue Lips's terrible run, Sunshine Kitty does look MUCH better!

                                                  • YES! I was just celebrating Hayley's strong start over on cheap's chart, and now I'm seeing a terrific Top 20 (even Top 15) debut here too! Not gonna lie, I wish "I Wish" had gotten this much love but "Demons" is a really great follow-up, and such positive reception for it around UKMIX truly warms my heart.
                                                  • Camila seems to have better luck on official charts lately with her collaborations than her own solo singles, so I'm curious to see if that holds true for "South Of The Border." Top 10 in the UK is a given for Ed lately, but I wonder if/how this one will transfer to the States (and elsewhere).
                                                  • Aw, hopefully "Parle à ta tête" doesn't become another of 2019's uncertified No. 1's!

Definitely... let's just hope this will be the case and "Lover" will really carry the album through the upcoming Christmas period. It's still growing on airplay and could reach a nice peak until the Christmas songs start to rise. Oh, why do you think "Miss Americana" is a risky single choice? It's a very catchy uptempo track that goes straight to your ears, so it's one of the best choices in my books. "The Man" would be a nice choice as well and you're right, it's been the most successful track from the album since the album release, though that doesn't mean it will also do well as a single (OOTW comes to my mind - though we could say that was a different situation). But we'll see what happens! If "Lover" does well, I'm definitely more than satisfied and the best scenario would be to get another "Delicate" situation next year.

Yep. Somehow making woman jokes has been a thing lately and it annoys the hell out of me because every time someone's making such a joke, certain people look at me and I know exactly what their look means. That's just one of few things going on of course, and I'm glad that it isn't even worse though, because I've heard or read about really bad situations when it comes to this, but it still hurts a little bit as it's the first time I'm making these experiences with being open about my private life (and I'm not someone who screams out loud that I'm gay; people usually know it because I'm just open about what I did on the weekend if someone asks me etc., basically exactly like straight couples would talk about their weekends etc.). Fingers crossed it will be less tensed once they really know me.

Yes, Meghan has never been a huge hit maker on my charts, looking back I'm surprised by myself how "Deat Future Husband" or especially "Like I'm Gonna Lose You" didn't do better. "All About That Bass" at least showed some longevity despite its peak. Her albums were also really unlucky as they're near to a certification (especially "Thank You" that only needs one more point... so fingers crossed Meghan will tour one day or release a very strong new album that pushes the album back onto the charts).

True! And agreed about the "Violence" video, most of her previous videos are definitely better / more impressive to watch. I got goosebumps when the dancing scene with the 'beat drop' started the first time I was watching it though

It is, but you could also just go through that playlist without listening to the songs you're interested in and simply add the songs from artists you are usually into. That playlist is definitely a good way to have a good overview about all the releases & you definitely wouldn't miss out a single release (except from unknown ones as not all artists are featured there obviously).

Aw... I love how you just said Hurricane Lindsey because I had something similar planned as the topic title at first. Honestly, I didn't play Link's Awakening that much yet, but what I've played was really enjoyable. It's the first time I'm playing a game from that franchise by myself so it's great to me but I guess it's kinda easy for people who are familiar with it. My favorite part about it is the design though! <3 Maybe I'll be able to tell you more about the game next week...
And yes, "Crystallize" has a very impressive chartrun. I never really realized how well she actually did with all of her releases so far until a few weeks ago - she's been slaying My Charts for over six years now and there's still no sign of weakness in her discography to me

I knew you would love that debut for Hayley! "Demons" is such a good track and I'm really looking forward to the whole album now. She's always been a very interesting artist to me but somehow her songs never really clicked, so it would be cool if "Demons" is the start of a bigger career for her (on My Charts, at least). And yes, the praise she's getting it's cool too - I think none of her previous releases got that many positive comments. Can't wait to see where she will debut on your charts!

"South Of The Border" is probably going to be yet another #1 in the UK for Ed But that would be ok to me as it's most likely ending up as my favorite release of the whole album so far. Love Camila's parts there - though I have to say that "Cry For Me" is growing on me a lot these days as well. It's sad how none of her solo songs really broke through on the official charts so far...

Well... that may be the case because Gold is still not as near as one may expect. She was very unlucky that I was so obsessed with this song (around 100 plays within the first weekend) that I got over it rather quickly afterwards, so she's been falling down ever since. But hopefully another single, a live performance of it or an album release may give it another boost.

                                                    Thank you so much
