  • I'm quite a pessimist when it comes to new Aura's song... But maybe it was just the very first impression.
The Veronicas - well, not bad, but I think they can do much better. Where's the time of "Untouched" and "Revolution"...

Oh hopefully you will add it again Would be cool to see it back on your charts as well.
I'm glad you like "Cologne" more now than before! Yeah, when you're reading this you've already seen that it re-entered my chart, which is due to my listening to the entire thing again; I didn't even skip "Me and My Girls" (though in my defence I was out walking and it was raining and I had my iPod safely tucked away inside a pocket so the skip button was kind of unavailable ), plus a few extra plays for "Cologne". "Kill 'em with Kindness" sounded good; it's definitely my favourite out of the songs that have not charted on my chart.

Ha yes, you mean the breakdown, right? That's also the weakest part for me... Iselin's voice is just heavenly so i could live without that instrumental part.
It's the parts from ca 1:09 to 1:29 and 2:13 to 2:34 (is that called breakdown?). The beat there has a kind of "hypnotizing" effect that I guess sounds cool but I find it mostly annoying, especially when listening with headphones.

      On to the new(ish) chart...

I just checked out "Love Somebody" and I like it! I wasn't sure I had heard anything by her before so I entered "Aura Dione" into my searchbox (for my own database). It came up empty. Then I tried just "Aura" and there was a song called "Song for Sophie" from 2008. I didn't really remember it and a further search showed that I hadn't listened to it since early December 2008. It got 8 plays from November 20th until December 4th and then apparently got forgotten, until now! I find it interesting that her last/second name wasn't included; maybe she used just her first name in the very beginning, then added "Dione" when the first album was released and now dropped it again? Or maybe it was just an error; I don't remember where I found it. Anyway, I'm curious now to check out her two albums that I've never heard. It will hopefully happen later this week.

Good to see "In My Blood" enter in the top 10! It's not amazing but still a good comeback single from them.

What do you base the certifications on? Is it a certain number of plays, chart performance or something completely different? I like all the songs/albums that got new certifications this week!

Great to see Martina Stoessel's album holding at #6, even though that comment last week had made me think it would do even better.

I ended up listening to "Song for Sophie" on repeat while I typed/edited the rest of this post.

Definitely "Venus Fly", as it's by far my most favorite track of the remaining ones. I wouldn't mind a new / long version of "Life In The Vivid Dream" as well cause i love that. But overall i'm afraid i'm just over the album so she wouldn't score a huge hit anymore on my charts...

        • Ah, you mentioned that you'd been loving "Don't Let Me Down" lately, and here's the proof! When I first heard it, I thought I'd end up loving it way more than "Roses", but it wore off me surprisingly fast. I still like it, I just never got AS into it as I initially expected. I guess I prefer Daya on her own, whereas you prefer her as a guest.
        • Random, but still nice, to see "Company" finally make an appearance! I'm still surprised (and saddened) but how badly it flopped in the US, following three No. 1 hits!

        Yet another lethal chart, Tansike!
Well to be honest "You Ruin Me" and "In My Blood" are even their only two entries on my charts, none of their bigger hits made it. So the peak of "You Ruin Me" is not even that bad
So you prefer "Roses"? That song never really got me, while "Don't Let Me Down" has the chances to be quite big for me...
I'm surprised as well that it flopped. It even left the Hot100 this week despite the video release, which is really strange. Hopefully the next single will do better.

        Thanks a lot

I checked out your #2, and it's got some interesting lyrics. I enjoyed it, though.

Other highlights include "Sound of Silence" and "Church Bells" still sticking around (how amazing was that CMT Awards performance!!!) and the debut of "Company". Great to see Ariana's singles still doing well.
        ...
Woah, really glad to hear you think so, as "Kill Em With Kindness" is my most favorite song from her solo career so far! Not sure if she will ever surpass songs like "Naturally", "Love You Like A Love Song" or "A Year Without Me" for me though. Yeah, the message is good, i just wish the video would have been a bit better. Still hoping it's a hit for her

        Glad you like it!

Loved that CMT performance! It's good to see her performing it everywhere, it really deserves to be the biggest hit of the album so far. But just like with Selena, i wish the video would have been better

I'm already starting to get a bit over "Love Somebody" which isn't the best sign cause most of her singles showed some great longevity on my charts... it's good, but definitely not as strong as most of her singles so far.
"Untouched" was good, but i think i'm just a little bit a lover of generic music so i like "In My Blood" more

Ha yes i've seen it yesterday and was happy about this Oh "Me & My Girls" is one of the better songs for me on "Revival" so good to hear you HAD to listen to it, kinda From what i remember not many songs made your charts, so that's good when "Kill Em With Kindness" is your fave out of these .)

Yes, that's it, or also simply 'break'. That's probably the most similar part to "Faded" for me...

It's possible that she called herself only 'Aura' while she started in Denmark, and after trying to get some success in other countries as well, she added 'Dione'. Not sure though. But good to hear you like the song! I'm a bit surprised you didn't know "I Will Love You Monday (365)" and "Geronimo" which were her biggest hit to date.

Glad you like the debut for "In My Blood". Not sure if it will go higher than #7 but that's already a success for them

Certifications are only based on points. A #1 on my charts gets 40 points (singles) / 20 points (albums), a #2 gets 39 pts / 19 pts and so on. Gold is for 250 pts / 100 pts, Platinum for 500 pts / 200 pts, 3xG for 750 pts / 300 pts and so on. I'm not really happy about them anymore and i'm trying to find a new formula for over a half year now, that's also why the certification database on the first page isn't up-to-date. Adding plays is also a good way, but that would make a lot of work and i'm tracking my plays with LastFM which isn't accurate for nearly a year so i'm not sure if that would be a good way.

Well to be fair there are two new entries above her, so compared to last week she would have done better. #6 will most likely be its peak now though...

Wow great I loved it back then, and it's still awesome!

            week 25/2016 – 23 june 2016 summer in Heaven

            • Singles Top40

Inna is back! After the rainy weather that was going on for weeks, the summer finally started in Switzerland yesterday, and Inna released a new single called “Heaven” which definitely has the stuff to become the summer hit 2016. It immediately debuts at #1, becoming her second top hit following “More Than Friends”, which also debuted on top of the charts back in 2012, and is her 13th entry overall. She’s always hit or miss, as all of her entries made the Top10, while some of her songs not even made the Top40, like the “Cola Song” from 2014, which was actually her last real hit in several countries. “Heaven” even made a big enough impact that her last studio album makes a big jump on the album charts as well, plus the two singles “Bad Boys” (#28) and “Yalla” (#36) are also able to re-enter the singles charts. “Bad Boys” also gets certified with Gold this week.

Apart from all the Inna new and re-entries, there are another four debuts on the charts this week. English singer-songwriter Passenger is preparing the release of his next album called “Young As The Morning Old As The Sea” which will be released in september, and released its lead single “Somebody’s Love” last Friday, which debuts at #10. It outpeaks “Heart’s On Fire”, which peaked at #12 back in 2014 and was his highest peaking entry so far. Christina Aguilera is also back on the charts, as she released a ballad called “Change”, which debuts at #19 this week. Following the Top10 hit “Stressed Out”, twenty one pilots chose “Ride” as the next single which makes its entry this week at #23. Last but not least, Laura Pergolizzi – or simply called LP – makes her very first notation at #30 with “Lost On You”, which was a top hit in Greece this year.

So, after two weeks, “Kill Em With Kindness” by Selena Gomez dips 1-2. Right behind her, there are two climbers who only entered the charts last week. The Chainsmokers and Daya are up 10-3 with “Don’t Let Me Down”, while MΨ’s “Final Song” even climbs 19-4, easily outpeaking her previous and only solo song “Kamikaze” (#16). Kerli slips 3-5 with “Blossom”, followed by Nina Kraljic’s “Lighthouse” which dips 5-6. Ariana Grande’s “Into You” gets certified with Gold this week, but has to leave the Top5 (4-7). P!nk’s “Just Like Fire” (6-8) and Aura’s “Love Somebody” (2-9) fill out the Top10.

Despite the Euro still going on, “This One’s For You” by David Guetta and Zara Larsson is back down 8-11. The Veronicas’ “In My Blood” leaves the Top10 as well by falling 7-12, while the biggest drop out of the Top10 goes to Alan Walker, who drops 9-18 with “Sing Me To Sleep”. Shawn Mendes is about to enter the upper half of the charts, as his current single “Treat You Better” jumps 29-21, becoming his highest peaking single to date. Carrie Underwood also climbs a little bit and is about to re-enter the Top20, as “Church Bells” is up 26-22. It gets certified with Gold this week, being the first song from her current album “Storyteller” to do so and her third overall after “Blown Away” and “See You Again”. Last but not least, Rykka continues with her weird chartrun, as “The Last Of Our Kind” is down 24-38 this week.

MΨ’s “Final Song” is the biggest climber, while Cιline Dion’s and Lindsey Stirling’s “The Show Must Go On” tumbles down 18-39 as the biggest loser this week.

            • Album Top20

While there’s still a lot going on on the Singles Top40 and the competition is quite strong there, it’s quite the opposite on the Album Top20, as usual during summer time. So in what was a very quiet week, ESC winner Jamala not only gets her first album notation with “1944”, but also her very first #1 as she directly debuts on top of the charts. She beat Ariana Grande, who sits at #2 for a fourth week, and Tarja, who is down to #3 after three weeks at number one with “The Brightest Void”. Tarja’s album is now one of already five albums that spend three weeks or more on top of the charts this year so far, compared to six which did it during the whole 2015.

Nick Jonas and Tom Odell both debuted side to side on the charts last week, and while it was Nick who got the higher position than Tom, it’s Tom who has the better second week now, as his second album “Wrong Crowd” improves 5-4, with Nick’s “Last Year Was Complicated” already going down 4-7. But both are still quite successful for the fact that both have no entries on the singles charts right now. The most impressive move goes to Inna this week, as her self-titled album jumps 20-5 after its re-entry a week ago, being back in the Top5 for a sixth non-consecutive week. Selena Gomez’ “Revival” is down 3-6, the Eurovision Song Contest compilation dips 7-8, Jamie-Lee’s “Berlin” is back up 12-9 and Martina Stoessel’s “Tini” closes the Top10 (6-10).

Fifth Harmony’s “7/27” leaves the Top10 after three weeks by going down 8-11, followed by Birdy’s “Beautiful Lies” (10-12) and Mark Forster’s “Tape” (9-13) which also leave the upper half of the charts. A bit lower down the charts, there are also two re-entries, as Rachel Platten’s “Wildfire” (#17) and Anette Olzon’s “Shine” (#19) are back on the charts.

                • Hey Tansike

                  1 (NEW) Inna – Heaven

I saw the thread you posted in the dance forum and gave this a listen. It's not bad, i think i need to listen to it more to see if it clicks. I think her biggest hit i can remember was Hot from a few years back. Didn't even realise Inna was still releasing music.

3 (10) The Chainsmokers feat. Daya – Don’t Let Me Down

Wow, this is really doing well in your chart now. Roses is still my favourite song by The Chainsmokers though.

                  4 (19) MΨ – Final Song

Amazing climb for MΨ, and this is heading for my top 3 today.

                  9 (2) Aura – Love Somebody

I checked this out on Youtube and liked it a lot. It's very similar to songs like Lean on in its style and the production on the song is so sparkly and sharp. Another Tansike hit that is looking set to make my chart today (won't be high up my chart though).

11 (8) David Guetta feat. Zara Larsson – This One’s For You

Looks like this might finally make my top 20 after weeks on uncertainty, it has grown on me slowly over the last few weeks. It won't be a big hit for me though.

19 (NEW) Christina Aguilera – Change

Well, it ain't no Beautiful but i do like this. I do think this song could've been better though, but i still like this and its expected to enter my chart today.

23 (NEW) Twenty One Pilots – Ride

                  Top 10 here we come!

30 (NEW) LP – Lost On You

Yay! I'm really happy to see you discover this song thanks to FSC. I hope it wins, i shall be checking out the results when they're posted. Good luck to Grybop.

YES for Final song. I love that.

                      • The Chainsmokers inside the Top 3 If only we could've used our combined charting power

So, just for you to know: I already did my charts for this week (which I will post later!), so it's a real coincidence we both love the song this week (which doesn't surprise me of course ;) )

Have you already seen the OneRepublic video? I think it's a very good addition to the song.

How would you describe the Jamala album?

                        • Not really feeling Inna's new single yet, but i said the same about Cola Song and Rendez Vous and i ended up liking them both in the end

Glad to see "Kill Em With Kindness" being so stable. It was my favorite single choice since the album came out. I also like that Tini is still Top 10 on the album chart

So you prefer "Roses"? That song never really got me, while "Don't Let Me Down" has the chances to be quite big for me...
Aw So are "Flesh Without Blood", "Kill V. Maim", "Venus Fly" and "Life In The Vivid Dream" the only tracks on the album that you REALLY love? "Venus Fly" is in the middle for me: it's not one of my top favorites (FWB, KVM, "Butterfly", "Pin"), but it's not one of the tracks that I hardly ever play either ("Laughing And Not Being Normal", "Scream", "World Princess Part II", "Life In The Vivid Dream.")

"Roses" definitely had better longevity on my chart:

                              "Roses" = 12 - 18 - OUT - 21 - *9* - 23 - OUT
                              "Don't Let Me Down" = *8* - OUT

...but I've been getting back into DLMD lately (watching it smash on the Hot 100), so it may enjoy a second wind in the near future! ;)

                              • Awesome jump for "Don't Let Me Down"! Listening to it again now, I'm not sure why it hasn't done better on my chart I guess it's not really a matter of me disliking it, so much as it just getting eclipsed by a lot of songs that I'm loving even more lately.

Hopefully you will like it. "Devil's Paradise" was very different from her usual stuff, and "Heaven" is more like a typical Inna-summer-song
Glad you love MO's climb, "Final Song" is awesome
Also good to hear you like both debuts, unfortunately i think you'll be disappointed by their positions this week... As for "Ride", no, i knew it for several months already. I even got the album back when "Stressed Out" was a hit, so i'm already a bit over it...
I haven't heard Carrie's album for a while now (except "Church Bells"), need to spin it again soon, it became my favorite album from her so far

Glad you checked it out. Yes, "Hot" was her debut and still remains her biggest hit by far i guess. Not sure if you also know "Sun Is Up", which was quite big as well, also in the UK. Ha she's releasing a lot actually, "Heaven" is already her 13th entry on my charts ("Hot" was the first one), and there are actually a lot of singles from her which didn't make an entry over the years

I like all these! YES for the Veronicas. Brilliant single. Hope it can climb back up your charts. Selena is smashing after all this time Shame that Alan Walker is falling already.

YES for Final song. I love that.
Not sure if The Veronicas will be able to climb back up, but they should do fine over the long run And yes, i still love KEWK & the album As for Alan, i'm surprised by myself how fast i got over "Sing Me To Sleep"

                                  Glad you love it too

So, just for you to know: I already did my charts for this week (which I will post later!), so it's a real coincidence we both love the song this week (which doesn't surprise me of course ;) )

Have you already seen the OneRepublic video? I think it's a very good addition to the song.

How would you describe the Jamala album?
Haha true, i'm kinda late with that song. But better late than never

Saw it earlier today and was surprised about its top debut Glad you love it that much as well. Unfortunately, the competition on my charts is quite huge right now, so not sure if she can go higher than #4...

Yes, i've seen it around 1-2 weeks ago and liked it a lot. I think it's definitely one of their bests, don't get why it doesn't get more love, it's awesome

Hmm good question. Mainshow made a very good little review in the album topic: 'It's quite diverse (you have happy-sounding stuff on it) but it is still very artsy-fartsy and I think that her tone of her voice can be quite exhausting to listen to.' I don't really agree with the second part cause i have no problems to listen to her voice though, i even spinned the album four times in a row around a week ago... it's definitely better than expected. Like a more commercial Bjφrk.

Glad to see "Kill Em With Kindness" being so stable. It was my favorite single choice since the album came out. I also like that Tini is still Top 10 on the album chart
Oh so i hope it will be similar with "Heaven"!

I feel the same, KEWK is definitely my favorite song on "Revival", so i was very happy when they announced it as the next single. As for Tini, she will drop a few places this week, but i'm currently getting a little bit back into the album so she should be stable over the time...

Hope you will like his new single! It's nothing new for him, so when you liked his previous stuff, you should like the new song as well
Agree about "Change", let's hope she's back with a real smash soon

"Venus Fly" is in the middle for me: it's not one of my top favorites (FWB, KVM, "Butterfly", "Pin"), but it's not one of the tracks that I hardly ever play either ("Laughing And Not Being Normal", "Scream", "World Princess Part II", "Life In The Vivid Dream.")

"Roses" definitely had better longevity on my chart:

                                    "Roses" = 12 - 18 - OUT - 21 - *9* - 23 - OUT
                                    "Don't Let Me Down" = *8* - OUT

...but I've been getting back into DLMD lately (watching it smash on the Hot 100), so it may enjoy a second wind in the near future! ;)
Yes, these are the only tracks i really love. But all other songs from the album are really good as well, there's not even one weak song on "Art Angels" IMO. But i guess i'm just over the album, i've spinned it a lot and it was very successful on my charts, so nothing (except "Venus Fly") can change this now.

Ah interesting runs, especially the one for "Don't Let Me Down"... you let it down i guess
But glad to hear you're getting back into it. Speaking about the Hot 100, i've just seen how well it's doing there yesterday, i had no idea it was already that successful Would love to see it back in your charts

                                    • Awesome jump for "Don't Let Me Down"! Listening to it again now, I'm not sure why it hasn't done better on my chart I guess it's not really a matter of me disliking it, so much as it just getting eclipsed by a lot of songs that I'm loving even more lately.
                                    • Nice to see Jake's influence's with "Lost On You." ;)
                                    • The longevity of "Never Forget You" is incredible! No other song on your chart right now has lasted even 20 weeks, let alone 30+! Is it one of your biggest hits EVER?

                                    Yet another ethereal chart, Tansike!
I think "Sun Is Up" was also the only one which got a little attention in the US. She's became one of my favorite artists over the years and i can always count on her when i need a song for the summer or the vacation. Glad you like "Heaven"
I know what you mean. There's currently a lot of competition on my charts, so despite me loving songs like "Don't Let Me Down" or MO's "Final Song" a lot right now, i'm not sure if they can go higher in the upcoming weeks. They'd be #1s in other weeks of the year though...
Yes, i have to thank him for this nice discovery. Really liking it.
Good question. I have currently no list of the most successful/biggest hits from my charts to be honest (only currently because i've started working on it & something else a few weeks ago.....) but it's probably in the Top50? or definitely Top100... Its longevity is kinda irritating though. Despite having spent lots of weeks on the charts so far, it spent lots of weeks outside the Top20, so it doesn't have that many points actually compared to other songs with more points, but less weeks on the charts. But despite being a pretty new song, i'd definitely call this as one of my all-time-faves already, that's also why i can't let it go...

                                    Thanks a lot

Yeah, you remember correctly. Five songs from the album have charted so far; in addition to the two obvious ones they are "Same Old Love", "Sober" and "Me & the Rhythm". I'll probably listen to the album again (minus a song or two) soon.

Yeah, I don't have a good explanation for how I completely missed those albums, especially the first one which was released while I was still checking out a lot of new music. It's possible I actually downloaded it but didn't like it after checking out a few songs; I don't keep records of such things for songs that don't make it into my database. I haven't listened yet but plan to soon.

Ah, OK, thanks for the explanation! Yeah, I think that score system has a much too small difference between the top positions (#1 only worth 14% more than #6 for example), although it has the advantage of only having small, even numbers.

I just checked out "Somebody's Love" and "Change" and they're both good, although probably not something I will go crazy about.

"Heaven" sounded good in the verses but they sound quite similar to her other songs and unfortunately the chorus is horrible so I don't see any reason to listen to it. I'll stick to "Fool Me" and "Devil's Paradise" for this era. I was surprised to see that "Yalla" (which I don't like either) has nearly 80 million views on YouTube, hadn't realized she's that popular.

Albums: Oh, so Jamala released an album with the same title as her ESC winner? Considering that song wasn't one of my favourites I'm not sure I will check it out. Do the other songs sound similar or is there something more melodic and less "weird"?

Good to see Selena and Martina stay in the top 10, even though both albums lose positions compared to the week before. And Jamie-Lee returning to the top 10! 86 weeks for Anette's album looks impressive!

Oh interesting choice. By the release of "When The Sun Goes Down", i didn't get the hype around "My Dilemma", but it became one of my faves as well over the time (probably in the Top10 from all 'The Scene' stuff). I still don't get why they didn't release it in the end, cause i remember there were rumours about a single release, and there was even a remix...

That are good ones though. I wish they would release a fifth single, and that would be "Me & The Rhythm" or "Sober"...

It's possible I actually downloaded it but didn't like it after checking out a few songs; I don't keep records of such things for songs that don't make it into my database. I haven't listened yet but plan to soon.
Well to be fair, both albums may be solid, but apart from a few really good songs, they're nothing outstanding. At least for me. But they're nostalgic valuable for me.

Oh that's not even my main problem with the system. Something is already clear; i want to change the german system to the usual one, so instead of G > P > 3xG > 2xP > 5xG etc. to G > P > 2xP > 3xP> etc.

Thanks for checking them out! One of them will have a very short chart life, while the other one is quite good IMO. I guess this week's chart will make it quite easy to see which is the one with the short chart life and which isn't

Oh interesting that you think the chorus of "Heaven" is horrible I think it's something new for her. But the verses kinda reminded me of "Fool Me". I still think she should have released this at first to see if it could be a surprising hit. It's still the best song left on the last album. btw "Heaven" is not from this era, it seems to be a new song, as it's not on the albums "Body And The Sun" / "Inna". Yes, "Yalla" was very popular in countries like Turkey.

Yes she did, i'm actually listening to it right now If you weren't a fan of the winner song, you also won't be a fan of the album i think. It's quite 'weird' but still comemrcial, like a mixture of a commercial Bjφrk, FKA twigs and Banks, if you know them all. Aminata's "Love Injected" would also fit on the album The clear standout apart from the title track ist "My Lover".

Glad you like these, both of them will leave the Top10 this week though. As for Anette, yes, 86 weeks is immense. She could reach 100 weeks over the years as "Shine" is an album that i always play every now and then. It's like my "Only Teardrops"

                                            week 26/2016 – 30 june 2016 Don't talk about Innocence anymore

                                            • Singles Top40

Poor Selena! She finally released the smash that waited to happen for so long, and now she has to face such a strong competition. While it looked like “Kill Em With Kindness” could go back to number one shortly after posting the charts from last week, she’s still below Inna now. But “Kill Em With Kindness” still slips 2-3, and Inna’s “Heaven” also dips 1-2 due to an even bigger, and actually much stronger competitor who more or less came out of nowhere. Only a very few weeks after releasing “The Brightest Void”, which serves as the prequel to the upcoming album “The Shadow Self”, finnish siren Tarja already released “Innocence” which serves as the first single of “The Shadow Self” last Friday, alongside a great video, which is even her best video since her solo debut “I Walk Alone” from 2007. “Innocence” becomes her tenth entry on the singles charts and also her tenth number one hit, with nine of them debuting directly on top of the charts. Unfortunately, the previous release “No Bitter End” just leaves the Top40 this week after a rather weak nine weeks, becoming her first single to leave the charts without getting a certification so far.

There are another five new arrivals on the charts and one re-entry. The second highest debut makes the Top10 quite easy as well as it’s “We Don’t Talk Anymore”, the third single of Charlie Puth’s debut album “Nine Track Mind”. The song features Selena Gomez, so its debut at #4 is not even that strong, but that’s only because there’s a lot of competition. Speaking about Selena, this entry week may be a good sign for the song, as “Love You Like A Love Song”, her biggest hit to date, entered the charts exactly five years ago, while “Good For You”, also a big hit, entered the charts exactly one year ago. New Zealandish duo Broods are completely new on the charts, as they enter it at #16 with the single “Free”. Norwegian pop singer Julie Bergan just missed to make a debut inside the upper half, as her new single “Arigato” debuts at #21 this week. It’s the follow-up to “All Hours”, which peaked at #14 at the end of last year.

After leaving the charts with “Wrong Crowd” last week, Tom Odell is back on the singles charts again, but this time with “Magnetised”. It re-enters the charts at #27, which is even better than its previous peak at #29. One position below there’s “Toothbrush”, the new single by DNCE, which immediately becomes their highest peaking hit as “Cake By The Ocean” only peaked at #31 earlier this year. The last debut goes to Chvrches who make their very first notation by debuting at #37 with “Bury It”, which features Paramore singer Hayley Williams.

MΨ and The Chainsmokers are still on fire and could have been top hits in most other weeks, but their songs “Final Song” (4-5) and “Don’t Let Me Down” (3-6) suffer from the very strong competition. Kerli’s “Blossom” leaves the Top5 for the first time after eight weeks by dipping 5-7, followed by P!nk’s “Just Like Fire” which stays at #8 and gets certified with Gold this week. Ariana Grande’s “Into You” (7-9) and Nina Kraljic’s “Lighthouse” (6-10) close the Top10.

LP is having a huge jump this week, as her “Lost On You” increases 30-11. Maybe it also becomes her first Top10 hit next week? Leaving that part are Passenger’s “Somebody’s Love” (10-13) and Aura’s song with a similar name (9-15). The latter is definitely doing weaker than expected. In her tenth week on the charts, Dami Im is still staying inside the Top20 with “Sound Of Silence” (15-19), which becomes the fourth ESC single that gets certified with Gold this week, making this years contest the one with most certified entries so far. There’s still the chance to see even more certified entries, as Jamala’s winner track (24-20) and Poli Genova’s “If Love Was A Crime” (17-26) are still doing fine and are not far away from being certified.

LP’s “Lost On You” is the biggest climber, while Christina Aguilera’s “Change” is already tumbling down 19-40 as the biggest loser this week.

Three new albums made the Top10 this week, and all of them never made an entry on my album charts so far, so it’s the debut for all of them. The biggest debut goes to someone who definitely also deserves it the most though, and that is the “Side A” EP by Christina Grimmie, who shockingly got killed nearly three weeks ago. “Side A” was her last release and came out in february this year and now becomes her very first notation ever, unfortunately posthumously. It was by far my most played album of the week, with the song “Snow White” being played over 40 times alone. May she rest in peace.

Ariana Grande still sits at #2, making it five weeks now for “Dangerous Woman”. Despite being pretty unlucky when it comes to the top spot, she’s showing incredible stability so far and so it’s not surprising to see the album getting certified with Gold this week. Tom Odell makes the Top3 complete as he rises even further with “Wrong Crowd”, up 4-3 this week. Tom switches positions with Tarja, who dips 3-4 with “The Brightest Void” and leaves the Top3 after four week. Her new single “Innocence” is not on “The Brightest Void”, so it’s not a big surprise to see no push for it. Last weeks chart topper Jamala is already down 1-5 with “1944”, followed by the other two mentioned new entries. New Zealandish duo Broods are new at #6 with their album “Conscious”, while the legendary Red Hot Chili Peppers settle down at #7 with “The Getaway”. Broods never had an entry on both charts until this week, while the Peppers had a little hit on the singles charts with “Snow” back in 2007. Inna’s self-titled album (5-8), Nick Jonas’ “Last Year Was Complicated” (7-9) and Selena Gomez’ “Revival” (6-10) fill out the Top10. Inna’s album gets certified with Platinum this week, giving her her first Platinum cert since the album “I Am The Club Rocker” got certified with Platinum back in 2012.

After an immense chartrun, the compilation for the Eurovision Song Contest leaves the Top10 in its tenth charting week (8-11). If it won’t drop too fast now, it should get certified with Platinum in the end, making it only the second ESC compilation to do so. Martina Stoessel’s “Tini” (10-13) and Jamie-Lee’s “Berlin” (9-15) are leaving the upper half as well. There’s even a fourth new arrival on the charts, but it only barely made it at #17. It’s the “I’m Not OK” EP by Billy, who is better known as the lead singer of Tokio Hotel. He scored a #1 album and a #1 single with his band less than two years ago, so that low debut for his solo EP is rather disappointing.

                                              • Year-To-Date Charts

Time is flying by incredibly fast, and as usual during a year, I’d like to ‘tease’ a little year-to-date charts this week. All songs and albums are listed in alphabetical order, and are not ordered by points / YTD position.

As of now, 222 songs made the weekly Singles Top40 this year, while 96 albums made the weekly Album Top20 so far. So the chances for a new record are quite big, as 2015 holds both records with 313 different songs during the whole year and 132 albums. However, the difference of new and old releases is striking, as there are only two non 2016 releases in the Singles YTD Top15, while there are 6 non 2016 releases in the Album YTD Top15, with all of them being in the Top10, and the highest 2016 release being only at #5 right now. It’s also interesting that the #10 on the Album YTD list has currently 42 points more than the #11, which is an even bigger difference than the one between #11 and #24.
