One could say it’s been surprisingly quiet around Taylor Swift just based on new songs or music in general, but the singer has been smashing the charts all over the world and also doing exceptionally well with her The Eras Tour in the US. Following Anti-Hero and Lavender Haze, Taylor has finally chosen the next single of her current album Midnights with Karma, one of the album’s clear fan favorites, and to support this choice, she not only released a new remix with rap newcomer Ice Spice, but she also put out a new edition of the album called Midnights (The Til Dawn Edition), that makes a big impact on the Album Top20 and on the Bubbling Under chart as well.

As for Karma, the song is a no brainer as a top debut, especially with the Eurovision impact losing some of its steam. Karma was also a huge success on the Bubbling Under chart as an album track, where it topped the list for one week and stayed on there for 14 weeks in total. It’s Taylor’s 14th number one single on the main chart and 49th chart entry overall, while being the 15th top hit of the year and Taylor’s first. This new boost also brings Lavender Haze back to the chart at #37.

Kylie Minogue already scored a very good debut with Padam Padam last week, her new lead single to the upcoming album Tension. But following a first full week, the song jumps 13-2 to become the Australian’s legend first Top10 entry since Dancing also peaked at #2 in early 2018. Being Kylie’s 11th entry overall, Padam Padam is just her third song ever to surpass its debut position following In My Arms (debuted at #9 and peaked at #3 later on in 2008) and Higher (with Taio Cruz, debuted at #4 and rose to the top later on in 2011).

Keiino’s Ritma dips 2-3 to complete the Top3.

Other new entries this week: Beyoncé has finally chosen another new single from last years hit album Renaissance, as she collaborated with Kendrick Lamar on a new version of the song America Has A Problem. The new mix debuts at #9 as the second highest new arrival, therefore continuing the album’s Top10 streak following Break My Soul (#3) and Cuff It (#2 and Gold). The next three new entries are all in the lower regions of the Top20, with Swedish singer and Eurovision star Anna Bergendahl being up next. She released a new song called Dance With Me that is new at #16, being her tenth chart entry since making her very first entry with the Eurovision song This Is My Life all the way back in 2010. Lauren Jauregui teamed up with Ty Dolla $ign and Russ on Wolves, the standout on her new mini album In Between. The track starts at #18, tying 2019’s More Than That as Lauren’s highest chart entry as lead – though she was also featured on Halsey’s #2 peaking and Gold certified Strangers back in 2018. Dua Lipa makes the Top20 arrivals complete, as the Barbie soundtrack song Dance The Night is new at #20. Dua already collects her 26th chart entry within less than six and a half years. Just missing out on the Top20 are OneRepublic, as their Runaway arrives at #23.

A total of eight new entries found their way to the Singles Top40, so just two more to go and they’re both linked to RuPaul’s Drag Race. First up is RuPaul’s Drag Race UK star Tia Kofi, who was on their second season back in early 2021. She has become a true chart staple ever since, as her cover of Lena’s 2010 Eurovision winning track Satellite is already her 12th chart entry, coming in at #28. Kylie Sonique Love was originally on the second season of the US franchise over 13 years ago, but truly broke through when she won All Stars 6 two years ago. Just as Pride month is about to start, she covered Cyndi Lauper’s classic True Colors, becoming Kylie’s fourth chart entry by sneaking in at #40. It moves over from the Bubbling Under chart, where it debuted at #7 last week.

Eurovision highlights this week: Loreen’s Tattoo (1-4, Sweden) and Alika’ Bridges (4-6, Estonia) both hold up really well in the Top10 as not only two big successes from the contest, but from the music year in general. Alessandra’s Queen Of Kings also just sits outside of the Top10 yet again (11-12, Norway), as also one of the years most successful song so far. Vesna’s My Sister’s Crown may join them all soon, as the Czechian entry also holds up in the Top10 by sliding 7-10. Salena & Teya’s Who The Hell Is Edgar? (10-15, Austria) and Andrew Lambrou’s Break A Broken Heart (8-17, Cyprus) have to leave the Top10, but are the other remaining Eurovision entries in the Top20.

Other talking points this week: Jessie Ware continues to do well with two songs at once, as while Freak Me Now stays at #5 for a second week, Free Yourself increases 12-11. And speaking of increases, there are two very notable new peaks happening. First up is Netta, who won Eurovision for Israel five years ago and jumps 26-13 with her cover of You Spin Me Round (Like A Record), making it her third Top20 entry. Anne-Marie & Shania Twain’s Unhealthy rises 17-14 with potential to become a surprise hit this year.

Netta’s You Spin Me Round (Like A Record) is the biggest climber, while Aja’s Vulture Queen drops 20-39 as the biggest loser this week.

Album Top20

The Eurovision season of 2023 is officially over but even now, there are still tons of songs from the contest that keep doing well on the Singles Top40 and despite some good competition, this still secures the compilation for the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 its sixth non consecutive week atop the album charts. With this, the 2023 edition not only becomes the longest charting album of the year so far, but it’s also the longest running compilation of all time! Overall, the last time an album spend that many or more weeks at number one isn’t too long ago, as it was Taylor Swift’s Midnights at the end of 2022.

Coincidentally, Taylor is the Eurovision’s biggest competitor this week, as the singer released a new edition called Midnights (The Til Dawn Edition) and that pushes the album up 18-2. That’s just right on time, as the album has been hanging on right at the bottom of the Top20 for a few weeks now. Taylor also keeps charting with Folklore, though that descends 15-20.

Completing the Top3 is the highest of four new arrivals: Addictocrate, the third studio album by Belgian singer Loïc Nottet. He’s probably still mostly known for having represented his country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2015, where he finished fourth with Rhythm Inside, breaking Belgium’s curse of not doing well for a few years at that time. He’s become a real staple in his country and on My Charts ever since, with Addicocrate’s arrival at #3 becoming Loïc’s fourth chart entry following his debut Selfocracy (#2 and Gold, 2017), the Candy EP (#12 in 2019) and second album Sillygomania (#6 in 2020).

Other new entries this week: Lauren Jauregui released her second mini album called In Between and enters the chart at #6 with it. This makes Lauren just the second member of her former group Fifth Harmony to have multiple entries on the album charts, with Camila Cabello still being in the lead with three entries. Dinah Jane still has one, while Ally Brooke and Normani shockingly have none. The third best debut out of four entries overall belongs to RuPaul’s Drag Race UK star Tia Kofi, who put out her Pride. Power. Pop. EP and debuts at #7 with it. Since her season aired in early 2021, Tia has slowly become one of the most reliable singers from the franchise, as she already peaked at #6 with Part 1: The Damage EP in 2021 and at #3 with Part 2: The Antidote EP in 2022. Lastly, German singer Nico Santos makes it to #9 with Ride, his third album but just second chart entry following his self-titled second album from 2020 (#7).

Other talking points this week: The usual up’s and down’s, where a special shoutout goes to Ed Sheeran’s - (Subtract) (9-12). The album is charting for its fourth week, which is already one week more than he did with his previous album = and despite that one having had the two smash hits Bad Habits and Shivers, while - (Subtract) failed to get a hit on the singles charts so far. (G)I-dle’s I feel EP (6-14) and Käärijä’s Cha Cha Cha EP (5-15) both face big second week drops.

Bubbling Under

A bunch of new singles and Taylor Swift’s new edition for her current album Midnights bring a lot of action to the Bubbling Under chart, but there still was no real competition to Vesna. The Czechian group spends a second week atop the list with Płakały from their Muzika EP.

The Til Dawn Edition of Midnights has a new remix of Karma, that’s been promoted as the new actual single from the album and makes a stellar debut on the Singles Top40, but it also has a new version of the Lana Del Rey assisted Snow On The Beach with even more Lana, and Hits Different, a song that’s previously been a Target exclusive song and now the whole world finally gets to hear it. The former – Snow On The Beach – already had a fantastic run on the Bubbling Under chart last year, but makes an impressive return for a new peak at #2 now. Meanwhile, Hits Different makes its debut at #4.

Lana Del Rey owns a second entry on the list, as her current single (and rather surprising hit all around the world) Say Yes To Heaven dips 3-5, while Ashley Tisdale’s Insomnia also keeps charting (5-7).

Other than these, all other songs on the Bubbling Under chart are from new single releases: Sam Ryder teamed up with Brian May on Fought & Lost (#3), Lauren Spencer Smith is new at #6 with That Part, Felix Jaehn and Sandro Cavazza’s All For Love debuts at #8, Louanne’s new track Pardonne-moi comes in at #9, while Brandi Carlile’s Home sneaks in at #10. The only new release from this week that fails to enter any of the charts is the new Rock Version of Demi Lovato’s Cool For The Summer.

Philippines Funny enough, that's the country who supports her the most when looking at iTunes & Co. (even more than the US)

Ok, sounds a bit reserved, so I hope the TV release may put the album back on your map when it comes to her discography. Even though you're sticking with her original albums, you're still be checking the TV album out at least once, right? Thanks for the recommendation, just checked it out and you're right, I like it! Definitely at least once! There are some "Taylor's Versions" that I keep coming back to (besides the Vault tracks), like the Elvira Remix of "Love Story (TV)."

See, I'm so not into charts anymore that I forgot Psycho has been a #1 for him If it will be a rather quiet week for new releases then yes, make sure to check the album out. IMO his albums are actually good and I rate them higher as a whole than I rate his songs (two of his albums reached the Top10 for me). He just dropped another single of Austin today, hopefully another poppier tune

I didn't realize you've heard most (all)? of Post's albums in full! Which is your favorite so far?

Sure! (low-key love to share these tbh) You know what, I never had a list of the longest charting songs or so but you're actually right, 58 weeks is wild for I See Fire that makes it the fourth longest charting song ever on my charts! He's only beaten by Lindsey Stirling's Crystallize (86 weeks, 2013 onwards), Ashley Tisdale's Suddenly (69 weeks, 2007+) and Loreen's Euphoria (66 weeks, 2012+). Worth a mention that I made just a weekly Top10 from 2007-2011 so who knows how many weeks Suddenly would've had with a bigger chart.

Yep, I Don't Care was a turning point when it comes to Ed. That's also when the overkill started to kick in. It's also not just the singles performances, but also the albums, where = went 1-2-11-Out. I still love Bad Habits & Shivers, they're great, but the album as a whole didn't live up to these two tracks. It also has to be said though that 2010-2015 (or maybe even up to 2017) is a different time line than 2017 onwards, as I discover a lot more music and so it got more difficult for songs to chart longer.

I should've guessed that Queen Lindsey would hold your song-longevity record.

Yeah, switching to streaming (and checking out more recommendations from other Personal Charts) has made it harder for songs to last as long as they used to on my chart too.

Oh, Lego House being his first chart entry <3 Definitely the biggest regret of not discovering him sooner as IMO that's still to this day one of this best songs. You Need Me, I Don't Need You is another great tune!

Low key surprised Shape Of You didn't do better, but very pleased Galway Girl also reached the Top3.

What's his biggest hit going by certification for you?

This isn't a very surprising/exciting answer, but Ed's only 2x Plat song is "Lego House" (though "I Don't Care" is nearly there).

Well, guess you've heard the most important song of the contest at least with Loreen's Tattoo She's just the second artist to win twice ever (and first female) so this is a huge achievement, and so very well deserved. I Wrote A Song is a BOP. If you haven't already, maybe you can check out Alessandra's Queen Of Kings as well (not sure anymore, maybe you already did when it did well on my chart a while ago).

Welp, I totally forgot to revisit "Queen Of Kings" these past few weeks so thanks for the reminder! It's definitely another of this year's best bangers (among the entries that I've heard).

My own insomnia I've been suffering from insomnia for years now, sometimes it's better, sometimes it comes back. Lately I've been sleeping surprisingly well but around two weeks ago it returned again and the song itself has been in my head ever since it was originally released (definitely one of my most favorite songs from 2019 onwards) so I decided to put it back on my daily playlist, to sing along to it while driving to work and therefore making "fun" of my own insomnia (or somewhat not getting defeated by it as I did in the past, more accepting it as it is and even making the best out of it in combination with the song) and so far, it worked!

• That Top2!! I love that Taylor bothered to give a 3rd single (4th? if we count "Bejeweled") special treatment like this (though I'm a little annoyed that she isn't dropping any additional remixes or discounts to secure the Hot 100 No. 1). Although I don't think any amount of remixes would help Kylie top any official charts, it's still exciting to watch it perform as well as it has in the UK and Australia
• Glad to see "Only Love..." above "Eat The Acid" Any other Gag Order faves?
• "Dance The Night" is very "mid," but it's not exactly super-rare for artists to half-ass their soundtrack singles, so I'm not too shocked or mad that it feels like a leftover

No, all with the family. His grandmother turns 90 years old so there'll be a big party and lots of family members from all around the world "come home". And following the party will be doing some other trips with the closest family members. Can't wait! Though gotta admit, I'm also low-key nervous meeting so many new people all at once

Exactly. Sometimes I look back and sometimes I miss being so invested in songs or one album for a longer time than I am nowadays. But now there's way more to discover at least (and it's way easier to do so) so both has its positive things.

This isn't a very surprising/exciting answer, but Ed's only 2x Plat song is "Lego House" (though "I Don't Care" is nearly there).

Aw, well, it is somewhat interesting as that means despite him having so many songs on your chart + also many high peaking ones, he never got many like really huge hits for you. Lego House is a great pick for his most successful song though, definitely also one of his signature hits!

Welp, I totally forgot to revisit "Queen Of Kings" these past few weeks so thanks for the reminder! It's definitely another of this year's best bangers (among the entries that I've heard).

• That Top2!! I love that Taylor bothered to give a 3rd single (4th? if we count "Bejeweled") special treatment like this (though I'm a little annoyed that she isn't dropping any additional remixes or discounts to secure the Hot 100 No. 1). Although I don't think any amount of remixes would help Kylie top any official charts, it's still exciting to watch it perform as well as it has in the UK and Australia
• Glad to see "Only Love..." above "Eat The Acid" Any other Gag Order faves?
• "Dance The Night" is very "mid," but it's not exactly super-rare for artists to half-ass their soundtrack singles, so I'm not too shocked or mad that it feels like a leftover
• Beautiful rebound for Midnights! "Karma" and the Til Dawn Edition really put it back on my mind too. How do you feel about the new VS original versions of "Snow On The Beach"?

Singles Top40

Several decades into her career, Australian legend Kylie Minogue seems to have another hit in her hands, as her current single Padam Padam is not only about to reach the Top20 on the UK Singles Charts, but it also becomes her very first top hit on her own here - and second overall, as Higher alongside Taio Cruz already reached number one back in 2011. Besides these two, only Dancing (#2 in 2018) and In My Arms (#3 in 2008) came close to the top, while I Was Gonna Cancel (#9 in 2014) and All The Lovers (#10 in 2010) are her only other Top10 entries, so Padam Padam reaching the top and also dethroning Taylor Swift is a huge achievement for Kylie.

Speaking of Taylor, her Ice Spice assisted remix for Karma dips 1-2 this week. Completing the Top3 is another surprise hit: Unhealthy, the unexpected collaboration by British singer Anne-Marie and Canadian Country legend Shania Twain. The song jumps 14-3, becoming Shania’s highest peaking entry ever, while being Anne-Marie’s fourth Top3 entry overall and first in over five years. She previously topped the charts with the Platinum certified number one hit Friends with Marshmello in early 2018, and her first two chart entries ever both peaked at #3 with Rockabye (alongside Clean Bandit and Sean Paul, 2016) and Ciao Adios (2017).

New and re-entries this week: With five new and one re-entries overall, this isn’t the busiest week and it’s even more interesting how three of these six are late arrivals, as these were already released in previous weeks but failed to get enough attention due to the Eurovision craziness so far. Coincidentally, these three late debuts are also the three highest debuts of the week, with German band Feuerschwanz taking the lead with their single Berzerkermode at #6. The band is preparing the release of their upcoming new album Fegefeuer (out in July) where Berzerkermode follows up Bastard von Asgard that peaked at #12 earlier this year. Besides these two songs, the band already scored two Top3 entries with Untot im Drachenboot and Ding in 2022. The other two late entries also reach the Top20, with Zara Larsson’s End Of Time being new at #17 and Lana Del Rey’s Say Yes To Heaven making it to #19. Both charted on the Bubbling Under chart and were rather shocking misses for the main chart, but it’s a better late than never situation, as Zara gets her 23rd and Lana her 29th chart entry through these.

Swedish hit maker Tove Lo is another charts staple and just like her fellow Swedish Pop singer Zara, Tove also scores her 23rd chart entry this week as the new single I Like U debuts at #22. It’s officially Pride month and to celebrate that, Adam Lambert teamed up with Sigala on a cover of You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real), that comes in at #23. Last but not least, Raffas Plasticlife and Candy Crash’s Plastic Bitch was one of the songs that suffered the most from the Eurovision craziness, but it’s able to sneak back in at #38 now.

Other talking points this week: There are a few songs that either reach new peaks or just rise back up again, and Netta is the first of them. The former Eurovision winner reaches the Top10 with You Spin Me Round (Like A Record) (13-10). Lauren Jauregui, Ty Dolla $ign and Russ’ Wolves also moves up 18-15, now being Lauren’s highest charting entry ever as a main artist (and second overall, still behind the #2 peaking Strangers by Halsey). Kylie Sonique Love jumps 40-29 also for a new peak with True Colors, benefitting a lot from Pride month. Finally, Dolly Parton’s World On Fire (31-24) and Ellie Goulding’s Better Man (32-28) gain some spots again, with the latter also being certified with Gold.

Eurovision highlights this week: Alika becomes the highest charting Eurovision artist this week, as her Bridges stayes pretty stable (6-8). This years winner Loreen is also still in the Top10, as Tattoo falls 4-9. Vesna’s My Sister’s Crown may leave the Top10 (10-14), but the Czechian entry gets certified with Gold as the fifth song from the 2023 contest reaching that milestone. The 2021 edition still holds the record for most certified entries with seven.

The title for the biggest climber is shared by two songs, as both, Anne-Marie & Shania Twain’s Unhealthy and Kylie Sonique Love’s True Colors rise 11 spots each. Meanwhile, the title for the biggest loser of the week goes to OneRepublic’s Runaway, falling 23-37.

Album Top20

With the impact of the Eurovision Song Contest finally slowing down and no other big new release this time, the soundtrack for Guardians Of The Galaxy, Vol. 3 called Awesome Mix, Vol. 3 takes the opportunity and scores a debut right atop the charts. The first movie was released back in 2014 and its soundtrack didn’t chart, while the second movie came out in 2017 and its soundtrack debuted and peaked at #3.

Taylor Swift holds up strong at #2 with Midnights, the Eurovision compilation completes the Top3 (1-3).

Other new entries this week: The first week of Pride month is surprisingly quiet, as besides the Soundtrack for Guardians Of The Galaxy, there’s just one more new arrival on the whole chart, making this a calm before and after the storm situation, as there are a bunch of expected new releases next week while the previous weeks have been busy as well. The other debut goes to former Nickelodeon boyband Big Time Rush, as they’ve already came back with new songs last year and finally put out Another Life, their first album in a decade. The set becomes their very first chart entry ever at #14.

Other talking points this week: As mentioned, the charts is rather stale, and current Eurovision winner Loreen takes advantage of that, as her debut album Heal improves 11-8. It’s currently charting for its 65th week as one of the longest charting albums of all time - and just one week below Taylor Swift’s Folklore, that somehow refuses to fall out as well (20-17). Lauren Jauregui deserves a shoutout too, as her In Between just dips 6-9, already outperforming her first mini album Prelude that went 5-16-Out back in 2021. Last but not least, just as they both returned back at the same time some weeks ago, Kelsea Ballerini’s Rolling Up The Welcome Mat EP (ex #18) and Subject To Change (ex #19) both also have to leave the Top20 again at the same time.

Bubbling Under

The Singles Top40 is not the busiest this week, but there still have been a bunch of new releases and many of them didn’t reach the main chart, so they settle down for the Bubbling Under chart instead. But none of them was also standing out enough to top this list, as Vesna’s Płakały makes it to its third week at number one.

The highest debut of the week goes to Madison Beer, who just announced her second studio album Silence Between Songs for a mid September release. Alongside the announcement, she chose Home To Another One as its new single that arrives at #2. Nico Santos is just one spot below with Number 1, the current single of his album Ride. The album already debuted on the album charts a week ago and already takes a dive this time, but Number 1 has been standing out.

Alika’s Too Much (#6), Beatrice Egli’s Balance (#8), Sam Fischer & Meghan Trainor’s Alright (#9) and Ilira’s Work Of Art (#10) are the other debuts, while Kelly Clarkson & Steve Martin’s I Hate Love and Karol G & Aldo Ranks’ Watiti missed the list.

Yay Loreen absolutely slayed the contest this year and I truly hate how her victory gets overshadowed by all the hate she receives online. The Eurovision artists (and fans) always say how much love the contest gives to their artists but every year there are so many sore loosers, and it feels like this year it's been the worst when it comes to that. I really hope she was able to stay away from all that and enjoys the victory as much as she can, she deserves it.

This happens often with Drag Race, too. Also, keeping with that comparison, Loreen gave a very Sasha-Colby-esque performance and that's why I was so captivated. It wasn't super extravagant, but still artful and impactful.

I Wrote A Song is a bop for sure - as you can see, it has done pretty well for me already prior the contest, because it's such a bop. Sadly I don't think her live performance lived up to that (yet I also think the UK definitely didn't deserve second to last place).

I think she could've done a more playful performance to bring it to life.

In the very first month of 2022, Canadian mastermind Grimes released Shinigami Eyes, that not only went on to become her biggest hit of the career, but also the most successful song of 2022 on My Charts. Sadly, fans of Grimes are used to her inconsistent release schedule and so there has been nothing new ever since – until now! Following teasing Welcome To The Opera, a collaboration with German DJ project Anyma, for months, both artists finally released the track and it’s arriving right atop. While this gives Anyma their very first entry ever, Grimes continues to put quality over quantity. Welcome To The Opera becomes her 13th chart entry since 2015, sixth top hit and already 11th Top2 hit. If this will already be her final single of 2023, it would already be the fourth year in a row where she just got one entry each. The new song also brings Shinigami Eyes back to #40, collecting its 40th week in the Top40.

Anne-Marie and Shania Twain have been real contenders for the top spot this week, as their Unhealthy has been on heavy rotation. Sadly and as it can happen, they were blocked on last minute by a strong new release, so their collaboration rises 3-2 in the end.

The second highest debut of the week completes the Top3 at #3, with Lilith by Halsey and Suga (of BTS). Lilith was originally already part of Halsey’s fourth studio album If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power from 2021, that was somehow supported by just one proper single with I Am Not A Woman, I’m A God. With the arrival of the extremely anicipated video game Diablo IV, Lilith was chosen as its official anthem and with slight sound changes plus a new rap by BTS member Suga. Halsey continues her success story, as this is already her 24th chart entry and 21st to reach the Top10. It’s Suga’s second solo entry and first to even reach the Top20.

Other new and re-entries this week: RuPaul’s Drag Race remains being a Pop culture phenomenon and it also keeps bringing some entries to the charts from time to time. The eighth season of their All Stars is currently airing and last week, the contestants had to sing and perform a musical about legendary actress Joan Crawford, where each contestant got their own short bit. All of these short bits were released as songs and while the series also produces proper songs that usually enter the charts, this is the first time songs from one of their musicals – site note, they’re doing a musical challenge in every season – makes it to the chart. Kandy Muse won the challenge with No More Wire Hangers, a track that also works as a song and scores high by coming in at #6. Kandy Muse was originally from Season 13 that aired in early 2021, where she already performed to the songs ConDragulations and Lucky that both peaked at #2 on the Top40. Fellow Season 13 contestant LaLa Ri is also on the current All Stars season and owns a second entry from that musical, with her Let’s Go, Joan making it to #11. It’s also her third chart entry, as she was also on ConDragulations, though her other entry was her own original song Bad Bitch Tip (#31 in 2021).

Spanish songstress Rosalía is slowly but steadily building her empire, as she scores her fourth Top20 in less than a year with Tuya at #18. It follows-up Beso (#19) and LLYLM (#6) from earlier this year, though Despechá from 2022 remains her most successful hit so far. Sam Smith teamed up with the Pop icon herself Madonna on Vulgar, a wild and chaotic yet infectous tune. The song starts at #28, Sam’s 24th but lowest entry to date, while Madonna’s 11th and also lowest entry to date. Just as his new album Ride leaves the Album Top20, Nico Santos reaches the Singles Top40 with Number 1 at #30. Belgian DJ Lost Frequencies is new at #32 with The Feeling. Last but not least, with Apache 207’s new album Gartenstadt being released, his song Komet with Udo Lindenberg makes a comeback at #36.

Eurovision highlights this week: First up two more new entries on the Top40, that aren’t actual Eurovision entries, but both are from artists who were part of this years contest, scored very well there and are also still charting with their Eurovision songs in the Top40. Funny enough, they’re both back to back at #7 and at #8. First is Alessandra, who represented Norway with the banger Queen Of Kings. That one falls 18-24 and is placed as low as never before, though it’s charting for 19 weeks now and is definitely set to be a real contender for the most successful song of the year. Its follow-up is called Pretty Devil and gets Alessandra her second Top10 entry. Also getting her second Top10 entry is Alika, as Too Much already entered the Bubbling Under chart last week and moves over to the main chart now. Alika represented Estonia with Bridges, that falls 8-13 as the highest charting actual Eurovision entry of the year. Besides these two, a special shoutout also goes out to Noa Kirel, as her Unicorn gets certified with Gold (35-35, Israel).

Other talking points this week: Kylie Monigue’s Padam Padam may still have lots of momentum, but due to the strong competition, the former top hit already falls 1-4 this time. There are better news for Feuerschwanz, as their current single Berzerkermode reaches the Top5, moving 6-5. The song was actually in the run for the top spot as well, but yet another case of suffering due to there being so many strong songs out at the moment.

With Anne-Marie & Shania Twain’s Unhealthy and Feuerschwanz’ Berzerkermode, there are just two songs that gain some spots compared to last week and both only move up one spot each, therefore making them the biggest climbers. Meanwhile, Lana Del Rey’s Say Yes To Heaven already drops 19-38 as the biggest loser this week.

Album Top20

Spoiler!

June seems to be a weird month as despite it having lots of new releases, including six new albums that debut on the chart this week, none of these are super strong competition. This means that there are some changes going on within the Top20, but there’s still no real battle for the top and this week, that’s been a great moment for Taylor Swift to reclaim the top with Midnights. The album collects its 11th week atop. The release of Midnights brought Folklore back to the charts last year and following its comeback run of 31 weeks, the album leaves the chart again this time, leaving Midnights as the only album that has charted in every single week of 2023 so far.

The soundtrack for Guardians Of The Galaxy, Vol. 3, dips 1-2, followed by the compilation for the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 that holds at #3.

New entries this week: The highest of all the new entries goes to Milky Chance and their new album Living In A Haze. The duo has already scored their biggest hit with the album’s title track earlier this year and so it’s less surprising to see the album also becoming their highest charting entry ever at #5, surpassing Blossom (#8 in 2017) and Trip Tape (#13 in 2021). They’re directly followed by fellow German musician Apache 207, who released his long awaited second proper studio album Gartenstadt. Apache 207 only broke through in 2019, but even within these four years, he emerged as one of the most successful German artists of all time. As a Pop rapper, he’s basically the German equivalent to Post Malone. Gartenstadt debuts at #6, the same debut and peak position as his debut Treppenhaus from 2020. Country singer Lauren Alaina is new at #8 with her mini album Unlocked, improving over the peak positions of her last two entries Sitting Pretty On Top Of The World (#13 in 2021) and Getting Over Him EP (#9 in 2020), though still far below the #2 peaking Road Less Traveled from 2017. Finally, Janelle Monáe snatches the final debut inside the Top10, as her fourth studio album The Age Of Pleasure makes it to #9. That’s just her second chart entry, as her third album Dirty Computer became her first entry when it debuted and peaked at #5 five years ago.

Former One Direction member Niall Horan has released his third solo album called The Show, and sadly, he becomes the first one of the boys to miss out on the Top10 with one of their releases, as the set arrives at #13. That’s also a big shocker considering his second album Heartbreak Weather actually topped the Top20 in early 2020 (though it only charted for four weeks in total). Christine And The Queen owns the sixth and final debut of the week and despite just sneaking in at #15 with Paranoïa, Angels, True Love, this is a spot higher than the peak of their last album Redcar les adorables étoiles from last year.

Other talking points this week: Jessie Ware’s That! Feels Good! leaves the Top10 for its first time (7-12), but the album gets certified with Gold, giving Jessie her very first certification ever.

Bubbling Under

The Joan Crawford musical on the latest episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race, All Stars Season 8 not only brings two high charting entries to the Singles Top40, but there has been a third standout that snatched the top spot on the Bubbling Under chart with Bring Me The Ax, sung and performed by Jessica Wild.

There are a total of six debuts on the list, and the second highest of these belongs to Kelly Clarkson. The original American Idol winner is still preparing the release of her upcoming new album Chemistry that comes out later this month, and to do so, she chose Red Flag Collector as its newest single. The song arrives at #2, the best showing for one of the album’s singles so far. Birdy is also preparing her upcoming new album Portraits (mid July) and while Raincatchers and Heartbreaker both sneaked in the Top40 earlier this year, Your Arms settles down for the Bubbling Under chart at #5 for now. Not a completely new album, but a re-release is being prepared by Carrie Underwood, where her new single Take Me Out is taken off (#10). The final two debuts are both new singles with no album announcements so far, with Shawn Mendes’ What The Hell Are We Dying For? coming in at #4, and Kylie Sonique Love & Timo Nunez’ God’s Child (Baila Conmigo) being new at #8.

With Anna Rossinelli’s Backstabber, PinkPantheress’ Angel and BTS’ Take Two, there have been three more new releases that failed to appear on any of the chart, but were at least close to do so on the Bubbling Under chart.

Vesna’s Płakały (1-3), Taylor Swift & Lana Del Rey’s Snow On The Beach (5-6), Sam Ryder & Brian May’s Fought & Lost (4-7) and Taylor’s Hits Different (7-9) complete the Bubbling Under chart.

Yay, thanks for checking out the #1. I'm a big fan of Grimes and sadly, she hasn't released something new since January 2022... so I was very happy with Welcome To The Opera. With that said, it's definitely not among her best ones for sure.

Ugh, good question. With Karma I feel like I will stick to the original soon, while with Snow On The Beach I'd be fine with using the new one instead (if I had to choose one). What about you?

So that's the one that sticks out the most for you?
To be fair, a combination of both is what works best for Kesha. Even Gag Order still has some elements from her earlier days and she just got the right attitude for this kind of sound, so it would be sad if she leaves that behind her completely.

I've never gotten super-into Lana (#flopgay, I know), so I never had super-strong feelings about the original. I prefer the production on the new version, but I'm fine with having less Lana on the original.

Oops, I already forgot about Take Me Out so reading your comment I had to look up on my chart what song you were talking about She's taking a weird route with this album, she left the original one go so quickly, waits over a year to announced a deluxe and already released two songs from there but it's still taking three more months to be released.

Good question for Cruel Summer - spoiler for week 24 that I'll be posting in a minute, but for this week, the song enters the Bubbling Under chart. I was still unsure to let it onto the main chart or not... but things are likely to change for week 25. Since I said I want to be more open to let songs that aren't exacly "proper" singles onto the main chart + me being back in Taylor mood (she just announced she's finally coming to Switzerland for the very first time aaaaaahhhhhaaaahhhahhahah ) everything looks good for it to become another hit for her on my chart too. btw was it among your faves back when Lover was released, and how are you feeling about its resurrection?

Somehow in the middle of Pride month, RuPaul’s Drag Race happens to make a big impact yet again but in a different way than previously. In almost every season of the franchise, there’s a so called Rusical challenge, where the contestants have to perform a musical to a specific topic and sometimes they have to record the verses on their own, sometimes professional singers record them. As for the currently running All Stars 8 season, the queens performed to Joan! The Unauthorized Rusical, an ode to the legendary Joan Crawford, and while there were already some big entries on the charts last week, they’re even bigger this time. Kandy Muse won the challenge for her part of No More Wire Hangers, that also becomes her very first top hit ever by rising 6-1 now. Let’s Go, Joan by LaLa Ri joins the Top10, jumping 11-7, while Jessica Wild’s Bring Me The Ax debuts at #13. There are even more entries from this Rusical on the Album Top20 and on the Bubbling Under chart this week.

Anne-Marie and Shania Twain were very close to the top yet again, and yet again they have to settle down for the #2 spot with Unhealthy.

The Top3 gets completed by last weeks number one track, Welcome To The Opera by Anyma and Grimes. While the song itself can’t hold up as well as last time, its impact is still strong enough to let Grimes’ previous release Shinigami Eyes jump all the way back up 40-25. Additionally, Grimes gets a third entry as Player Of Games makes a comeback at #39.

Other new entries this week: In late 2021, the second season of Canada’s Drag Race aired and there, Icesis Couture ended up winning the whole season. The sympathetic queen scored her first chart entry with La Pusetta (with Velvet Code) shortly after, peaking at #9. Last year, she was part of the new international season Canada Vs. The World and despite quitting due to mental health, she also scored a chart entry through it with Bonjour, Hi! from the first main challenge (#22). She keeps collecting one entry in each year, as now, she finally gets another hit as she teamed up with Velvet Code once again, but also with Drag daughter Savannah Couture. The new song is called Icy and becomes the highest chart entry for them all at #8. Just a few spots below at #11 there’s Attention, the long awaited comeback for Doja Cat. It’s been two years since the release of Doja’s international breakthrough album Planet Her and over a year since Get Into It (Yuh) became its last chart hit in early 2022, that marks Doja’s longest break since making her very first entry ever in early 2020 with Boss Bitch. That one started her career with a bang, as it debuted at number one as still her only top hit so far.

Finally, it’s not the busiest week so the fourth and already final debut of the week goes to Dolly Parton. Magic Man featuring Ann Wilson serves as the new single to her upcoming album Rockstar and sneaks in at #37. It joins the album’s first single World On Fire, that improves 31-28 again. The song is charting for its 6th week, surpassing Home from 2014 to become Dolly’s second longest charting entry ever – only her signature hit Jolene spent more weeks in the Top40 (11 overall, due to some revivals from 2014 onwards).

Other talking points this week: For the first time in six years, Kesha finally gets another certified hit, as Eat The Acid gets certified with Gold (12-14). There are some more good news for Belgian DJ and producer Lost Frequencies, as his The Feeling rises 32-26 following its arrival last week.

Grimes’ Shinigami Eyes is the biggest climber, while Vesna’s My Sister’s Crown drops 25-36 as the biggest loser this week.

Album Top20

We’re in the drought of the mid June release schedule and that’s the perfect opportunity for the RuPaul’s Drag Race franchise to snatch not only its first entry on the album charts overall, but one that arrives on top right away. With some songs doing super well on the Singles Top40 and also on the Bubbling Under chart, the full album for Joan! The Unauthorized Rusical makes a stellar debut.

It holds off Taylor Swift, who dips 1-2 with Midnights. The singer also returns back to #19 with Folklore. Loïc Nottet completes the Top3 as his Addictocrate re-peaks (4-3).

Other re-entries this week: There are no more new entries, but two more comebacks. First up is Miss Anthropocene, the latest album by Grimes. Ever since its release in early 2020, the album has been coming back to the Top20 several times and scores its 76th week now at #9. The other re-entry belongs to Halsey, as her 2021 album If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power returns to #17 mainly due to the success of Lilith on the singles charts.

Other talking points this week: For the first time ever, the compilation for the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 leaves the Top3 in its 10th charting week (3-5). It’s the longest running Top3 compilation ever and only the ones from the 2019 and 2021 contest charted longer in the Top5, though just one week more. Current reigning Eurovision artist Loreen reaches a new peak in 2023 with Heal, her debut album from 2012 (11-7). Last but not least, Blackmore’s Night achieve Platinum status for their Shadow Of The Moon (25th Anniversary Edition) (17-14), making it the very first album to be released in 2023 to reach this milestone.
