Just played "My Own Beat" and it's good stuff. Interesting to see Clean Bandit as the featured act; it's usually the other way 'round.
Also great that "Angel" has rebounded and held stable in the top 10. Have you seen her acoustic "Angel" version? It's terrific!

Ah, so fun, as last week it just happened with me as well, that's why Demons & Paint The Town Red both entered at the same time and climbed a lot in their second weeks. Just on time, the album already drops next week and Doja basically went from no hype to the most hype possible.

Bubbling Under
Spoiler! For the first time ever in months – mostly because Kim Petras’ Hit It From The Back refused to leave the chart – the whole Bubbling Under chart is new, as ten new entries arrive on the list. Half of them are album tracks from the three albums that impact the Album Top20, with the other half being new singles that were released this week but didn’t stand out enough to enter the Top40.
Demi Lovato and Louane get the highest entries on the albums charts and they both also get two high entries on the Bubbling Under chart each. Demi Lovato however snatches the top easily, as the Rock Version of Neon Lights with The Maine was clearly the standout of the week and debuts at #1. Demi’s new album Revamped also brings the Rock Version of Cool For The Summer to #3. Louane is somewhat unlucky, as the French singer is the runner-up on all three charts this week, with Sentiments Heureux track Nuages debuting at #2. It gets joined by fellow album track Parano at #4.
Madison Beer is the third artist who benefits from an album release, as her new set Silence Between Songs brings the title track to #8. Sweet Relief and Envy The Leaves were two more album tracks that stand out and were close to making appearances.
Maren Morris finally returns with new music and to do so, the Country-Pop singer released two tracks at once with The Tree and Get The Hell Out Of Here, both being labeled as The Bridge. They both enter the list at #5 and at #6. Doja Cat is new at #7 with Balut, Teya & Salena’s Bye Bye Bye starts at #9 as the follow-up to their Eurovision entry Who The Hell Is Edgar?, and Sia’s Gimme Love closes the chart at #10.

Album Top20
Spoiler!Three albums were released and all three of them battled it out for the top this week, resulting in an all new Top3. Coming in on top is Demi Lovato, who released Revamped, an album that dives back into her discography and gives some of her biggest songs a Rock makeover. With its arrival at #1, it becomes Demi’s fifth consecutive number one album and seventh chart entry overall.
Demi’s closest rival ended up being Louane, as the French singer put out a deluxe version of her most recent album Sentiments. The original album reached #4 in late 2022 as already her biggest success to date, but Sentiments Heureux even exceeds that and makes it all the way to #2.
Closing out the Top3 at #3 is Madison Beer, who released her new album Silence Between Songs. It’s already her third chart entry, as she peaked at #2 with both, As She Pleases (2020) and Life Support (2021).
Other talking points this week: In its eleventh week on the charts, Taylor Swift’s Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) keeps holding up well in the Top10, only going down three spots due to the three new releases above it (3-6). The album also gets certified with Platinum this week, making it already her tenth album to reach this milestone. Additionally, Red (Taylor’s Version) seems to have another revival, as the album jumps back up 13-7, making this run already the third time the album re-enters the Top20 in the lower part only to return back to the Top10. Folklore also charts in the Top10 (7-10) and celebrates its massive 80th week on the charts, becoming just the 8th album ever to do so. The Taylor mania ends with Midnights still surviving for another week at the bottom of the Top20 (19-19). Another certification goes out to Tarja, as her Rocking Heels: Live At Metal Church (5-9) gets certified with Gold. She keeps her perfect certification ratio through this, as all of her 15 (!) albums that entered the charts since 2010 made it to at least Gold status.
Finally, here’s an incoming warning: Next week is expected to become a bloodbath with currently seven expected new releases to make their impact on the Top20. All currently charting albums are still going strong, including the ones in the lower half of the Top20, hence their stability (Tori Kelly, Feuerschwanz). But with this many new releases, it will become a real fight for a spot within the Top20.

Singles Top40
Spoiler!Leigh-Anne’s strong arrival wasn’t just a one week kind of thing, as the former member of Little Mix actually defends the top spot against two high new entries this week. My Love with Ayra Starr therefore gets a second week at number one, making it the seventh song of the year with multiple weeks atop the Top40.
The highest of a total of nine new entries comes in at #2 and just like Leigh-Anne’s big debut last week, it’s also a rather unexpected big impact. It’s the song My Own Beat by French singer Louane and British band Clean Bandit, from Louane’s re-released album Sentiments Heureux. Louane’s making appearances on the charts since her debut Chambre 12 in 2015, but My Own Beat is just her fifth and highest entry so far. Late last year, Secret from the same album became her first Top20 entry by peaking at #6. As for Clean Bandit, this is somewhat of a comeback, as they haven’t been this high on the charts since Tick Tock with Mabel & 24kGoldn (#1 in 2020). Before that, they were responsible for big hits such as Rockabye with Anne-Marie & Sean Paul (#3 & Gold in 2016), Solo with Demi Lovato (#1 & Platinum in 2018), or most notably Symphony with Zara Larsson (#1 on the Year-End Charts 2017).
Speaking of Zara Larsson, the Swedish hitmaker owns the second highest debut of the week and with her new single On My Love arriving at #3, she also completes the Top3. On My Love is a collaboration with French DJ and producer David Guetta, making this already their second collaboration following This One’s For You (#8 in 2016). On My Love is Zara’s highest appearance since Love Me Land was a top hit in mid 2020 and already 24th chart entry overall since breaking through with Uncover in 2015.
Other new entries this week: Two more new entries get into the Top10 right away and they’re both from former Eurovision artists. First up is Michael Schulte, who represented Germany with You Let Me Walk Alone in 2018. He is preparing the release of his upcoming new album Remember Me and with the new single Better Me (with R3hab) debuting at #7, he scores his very first Top10 entry. Norwegian trio Keiino are not new to that part of the chart, more the opposite, as their new single Get Up continues their streak by becoming their 20th Top10 entry at #8. However, it breaks their Top3 streak after twelve songs and ties Dancing In The Smoke (2019) and Colors (2020) as their lowest peaking chart entry so far. Canadian singer Tate McRae scored a huge hit all around the world with 10:35 alongside Tiësto just recently and to build up on it, she released her new single Greedy that debuts at #13. Fellow Canadian singer Carly Rae Jepsen finally reaches the main chart with Shadow, after topping the Bubbling Under chart just a week ago, the song enters the Top40 at #17. Bella Poarch and Lauv teamed up on Crush at #21, while Jimbo – a contestant from the first season of Canada’s Drag Race (2020) and most recent winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race: All Stars 8 – gets a very first chart entry with Stitch at #23.
Finally, the ninth and last debut goes out to Olivia Rodrigo, who chose Get Him Back! as the third single of her new album Guts. The song arrives at #27, joining Vampire (13-20) and Bad Idea Right? (35-36) on the Top40.
Other talking points this week: Following her big jump the last time, Halle stays at #10 with Angel. Paris Paloma stayed at her spot the last time, but her current song As Good A Reason rises 25-18 this week, giving her a second Top20 hit. Also rising up the charts is Madison Beer’s Spinnin, as the track recovers 37-31 due to Madison’s album release for Silence Between Songs. Last but not least, there’s also a new certification happening this week, as Katja Krasavice & Luna’s Neonlights gets certified with Gold.
Paris Paloma’s As Good A Reason is the biggest climber, while Nicki Minaj’s Last Time I Saw You drops 23-40 as the biggest loser this week.

I still love the original (aw, the VIVA days <3)

I'm glad you found a "fortress of solitude" upstairs, at least.Well, last year it was my first ever earthquake AND a thunderstorm (that happened while we were at home, but since it's normal to have thunderstorms there, their buildings have lightning rods and there were sparks on these so that means the thunder hit them right away - I was so close to crying it was so frightening). But hey, for them it's so normal. Like very near to their home there's a vulcano that erupted around three years ago, I even hiked on that volcano back in 2018 and that's not possible anymore
They're like "ok nice, another one of these" while we are like "OMG we are dyinnnngggg xD"

Originally posted by crystalphoenix View PostGood question! In terms of Paulboard impact, her biggest era might actually be When The Sun Goes Down, since "Who Says," "Love You Like A Love Song," and "Dices" were all No. 1 smashes with great longevity. Akini also turned me onto "My Dilemma" before I bought the album. Rare landed a lot of tracks on my chart too. (I still haven't checked out Revival in full).
With that being said, When The Sun Goes Down was truly fantastic.
Originally posted by crystalphoenix View PostNot sure how I feel about the rest of WEEDKILLERA lot of the album is much more...aggressive, Pop/Rap than "Dying Star." (I've only given it one full listen so far, though). Some of it reminds me of Chloe Moriondo's last album.
Do you enjoyed Moonlight Magic of Ashnikko's Weedkiller? IMO it's probably the biggest "hit" in terms of its sound. But yep, if Dying Star was your first impression, I get why you're feeling the way you do about the whole album now. Good comparison!
Originally posted by crystalphoenix View PostMy Pokénthusiasm has been higher in general lately, since I finally got ahold of Emerald and LeafGreen (which I'd skipped as a teen). Also, after the Sword & Shield DLC, I'm not expecting too much additional story content in the SV DLC/it'll mostly be about catching all the old Pokémon that were added (which, like you mentioned, is a fine cozy autumn activity). My favorite game in the whole series! How did you like it?
Just started with the DLC yesterday and will try to dive more into it later today. Maybe it's time to revive the Pokémon topic on UKMix to talk about it?

A major chart improvement over what "Don't Say Love" managed here (though I think I prefer that one)
- "Paint The Town Red" doesn't do a ton for me, but I was glad to see it climb to No. 1 on the Hot 100 (compared to some of the other US chart-toppers in recent months)
- Lovely new Top 10 peak for Halle
- Oof, poor "Tension"
- The GUTS impact! I'm slightly surprised that none of its tracks made your Bubbling Under, while the album itself debuts at No. 2. I'd love to hear more of your thoughts about the album/Olivia in general
- Speaking of Bubbling Under, I definitely approve of the Carly Rae domination! Of all the tracks to get a remix, I wouldn't have expected "Shadow," but it's the song that's grown on me the most since the album release. She grabs a Gold cert too!
- Thanks for giving Zheani a chance! Relieved to see that she wasn't a total waste of your time/I didn't totally misjudge your taste, ha
Haha yeah, the #1s on the Hot 100 weren't that good in the last few weeks. Paint The Town Red is such an unexpected big hit though - it's also #1 over here in Switzerland (already for two weeks) when Doja's previous highest peaking song was Woman at #7. It felt like Doja's current era wouldn't be a success just a few weeks ago, but how the tables have turned.
Angel is so good and needs way more love!
I knowEspecially following the fantastic Padam Padam, but somehow Tension is doing not much for me. Maybe the album release will help?
Guts is one of these albums where 1) it's very good as a whole but I haven't found highlights to enter the Bubbling Under chart yet and 2) if I have to choose highlights, it's easily Vampire, one of the singles. So far, Guts makes a better impression as a whole than Sour, which I thought was just a slightly above average album but with two big highlights (Brutal, Good 4 U). All-American Bitch and Teenage Dream are two other songs that are slowly standing out from the rest, but said, I like the whole listening experience a lot, sound-wise it's a perfect continuation to Sour and Olivia seems sympathetic. What are your thoughts on her?
Shadow was so close to enter the main chart! Let's see if she can do it this week. But yes, interesting choice for sure, they need to push Psychedelic Switch.
And yes, Gold for the album - honestly, as a whole, The Loveliest Time is on its track to become my most favorite album by Carly!
It's a good mini album with two good highlights (Bring Wet ****, Hammerhead) - but I just dislike these short songs. The ideas are great, I just need at least one more minute on almost all of the songs to get really into them.
Thank you so much!

I also like how she throws shade at Dieter Bohlen in "Mia Khalifa".Honestly, she's making great music and I'm sad she's already going downhill with her charts success in Germany. Deutschland sucht die Superbitch would have been a fantastic choice for another single tbh. I also really like Ohne meinen Mann, from the non-singles on the album it keeps changing spots as my third/fourth favorite alongside Mia Khalifa. Legend is still my favorite non-single. So I'd guess you didn't enjoy Ich hab den schönsten Arsch der Welt?

...So glad UKMix is showing some love for My Love!
Ah, so fun, as last week it just happened with me as well, that's why Demons & Paint The Town Red both entered at the same time and climbed a lot in their second weeks. Just on time, the album already drops next week and Doja basically went from no hype to the most hype possible.

Great to see some love for Demons - imo better than Paint The Town Red.

Nah but seriously, even if I wouldn't be a fan I think I'd still make that comment, because facts are facts and I just can't think of someone else who dominated the way Taylor currently does (and she's been doing for a while now, despite being in the business for already such a long time).
Originally posted by Tansike View PostOh yeah, huge expectations on the The Vault songs! But even if the re-recorded originals won't be doing it for you, I guess that wouldn't be the biggest loss anyways as you've been someone who stuck to the originals most of the times anyways?

I think for now I definitely wait for an official streaming release - if the interest is still there, I'll be watching it, but as for now, it's not worth spending so much for going to the cinema (which is super expensive here, so I prefer staying at home & having it cozy instead of going out, haha...)

Eh, I gotta admit, I basically took no pictures at allAlso, the weather was abysmal, a typhoon came by in the first week and after that it was always stormy and rainy. I posted two stories on socials during my trip there, maybe you've at least seen them?
Originally posted by Tansike View PostOh wow, that's actually a great question - because you just made me realize that this is already the longest running #1 non-English song of all time and it just got that record this week, surpassing LaFee's Ring Frei that spent five weeks atop in 2008 / 2009. There weren't "many" non Englisch songs with multiple weeks at #1, here's a list:

So I'd guess Revival is also her peak for you?

Some of it reminds me of Chloe Moriondo's last album.

"Deutschland sucht die Superbitch" is such a BOP. And "Ein Herz für Bitches" too, but I think I prefer the former for now. I also like "Ohne einen Mann", what are your thoughts on that one? The other tracks from the album haven't impressed me too much yet tbh, but those three are a really nice trinity. I also like how she throws shade at Dieter Bohlen in "Mia Khalifa".

Bubbling Under
Spoiler!Carly Rae Jepsen’s Shadow came extremely close to entering the main chart, but in the end, the song leaps 4-1 on the Bubbling Under chart, giving her current album The Loveliest Time already the second top hit on this list following Psychedelic Switch from a few weeks ago.
Katja Krasavice remains strong on this list as well, and despite Ohne einen Mann falling out (ex #7), there are still two high charting entries from her current album Ein Herz für Bitches with Legend (1-2) and Deutschland sucht die Super Bitch (2-3). Ariana Grande also remains well, with Piano (3-4), Honeymoon Avenue (5-8) and Tattooed Heart (6-9) still charting, though all fall down some spots.
There are two new arrivals and one re-entry. The two new arrivals are both singles that were released this week and just missed out on the Top40, with The Chainsmokers’s Summertime Friends being new at #7, while Miranda Lambert’s Driving Back There In My Mind sneaks in at #10. The re-entry belongs to Ashnikko, who comes back to #5 with Moonlight Magic.
Kim Petras recovers 10-6 with Hit It From The Back to complete the Bubbling Under chart.

Album Top20
Spoiler!Probably less surprisingly considering all the success on the Singles Top40, Katja Krasavice’s fourth album Ein Herz für Bitches stays at number one for a second week. The album just became Katja’s fourth top album in Germany, a huge achievement considering already her last album made her the first female artist having her first three albums being number one entries in the country. While being her third top album on My Chart, it’s also her third album with multiple weeks atop now, and becomes the eighth album of 2023 to do so.
Katja’s biggest competition is the only new entry of the week - it wasn’t the busiest week when it comes to the new release schedule, as there are no other debuts or re-entry on the Top20 this week. But Olivia Rodrigo finally released her long awaited second album Guts and makes it all the way to #2, therefore outperforming her debut Sour that peaked at #3 in mid 2021.
Taylor Swift’s Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) completes the Top3 (3-3).
Other talking points this week: With this being a rather quiet week, this lets other albums rebound a bit. Lucky ones are Ashnikko’s Weedkiller (8-6), Taylor Swift’s Folklore (9-7), Hozier’s Unreal Unearth (10-8), but also Taylor’s Red (Taylor’s Version) (18-13). Carly Rae Jepsen’s The Loveliest Time may dip down a bit (7-9), but the album gets certified with Gold this week, making it her first certified album since Emotion (2015) and just the third overall, as her breakthrough Kiss also got certified back in 2012. Finally, while a bunch of albums in the lower half of the chart keep hanging around, Birdy’s Portraits (11-18) and Robin Schulz’ Pink (14-20) stand out for the wrong reasons with their big drops.

Singles Top40
Spoiler!Back in Fall 2015, British girl group Little Mix made their first chart impact with Black Magic from their third album Get Weird, when they have been big household names in their home country for years at that point. Up until their so far final release In Between in 2021, the group has become reliable hit makers, including having a Platinum certified hit with Sweet Melody (2020). Despite that, they were never able to get a number one hit, though they came close three times with Touch (2017), the aforementioned Sweet Melody, and No (2021) all peaking at #2. This makes this week even more sweeter, as Little Mix member Leigh-Anne (Pinnock) just released her second solo single called My Love and makes it all the way to the top. Leigh-Anne’s solo debut single Don’t Say Love had to settle down for the Bubbling Under chart (#4 around two months ago), making this an even greater achievement. My Love is a collaboration with Ayra Starr, who also happens to get her very first chart entry through this.
All four members of Little Mix are most likely to try out solo careers, though Perrie Edwards and Jade Thirlwall have yet to release their solo debuts. Jesy Nelson already left the band before their break, and reached #20 with Boyz featuring Nicki Minaj in 2020, while follow-up Bad Thing peaked at #3 on the Bubbling Under chart earlier this year.
Katja Krasavice completes the Top3 with two of her songs. Her new album’s title track Ein Herz für Bitches was close to rising to the top, but got prevented on last minute through Leigh-Anne’s strong arrival. So the song repeats its runner-up spot from last week, while Ich hab den schönsten Arsch der Welt finally leaves the top after an impressive seven non-consecutive weeks (1-3). Overall, the album’s release impact is already slowing down, but the German singer still owns a total of six entries on the list, with just Raindrops with Leony leaving (ex #32). Fellow Ein Herz für Bitches singles Neonlights with Luna (3-6) and Frauen (6-11) are still placed high, while her older singles Highway with Elif (28-31) and Friendzone (23-38) are towards the bottom of the Top40, with the latter experiencing a big drop.
Other new and re-entries this week: The second highest new entry from a total of six debuts also reaches the Top10, with Other Boys, a collaboration by Marshmello and Dove Cameron. The song starts at #7, being Dove’s fourth chart entry but first to reach the Top10, while DJ and producer Marshmello already gets his tenth entry overall and sixth to reach the Top10 through this. Besides all the debuts, there are also two re-entries on the Top40, both being fueled by the release of Guts, Olivia Rodrigo’s second studio album. The album spawned two singles so far, with the lead Vampire returning all the way back to its peak at #13, while Bad Idea Right? comes back to #35.
Three years ago, rappers Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion teamed up for WAP, a much talked about and very successful song all around the globe. The two teamed up again on their new track Bongos, that enters the chart at #16. It’s Cardi’s comeback to the Top40 after more than two years, when she was featured on Lizzo’s Rumors - or even more than two and a half years when it comes to being the lead artist, when Up reached #20 in early 2021. German-Spanish singer Alvaro Soler debuts at #22 with his new single Oxígeno, Avaion teamed up with Sam Welch on Goodbye at #29, while Colbie Caillat and Sheryl Crow both just sneak in at #40 with I’ll Be Here.
Other talking points this week: Doja Cat got two Top20 entries at once with Paint The Town Red and Demons last week, and both songs leap further into the Top10 this time. Especially Demons gets a big boost, as the song surges 15-4 to become Doja’s highest peaking entry since her first two hits Boss Bitch (#1) and Say So (#4) from early 2020. Paint The Town Red increases 13-9, making the two songs her eighth and ninth Top10 entry from 17 chart entries overall. Another big boost goes to Halle, who has been holding up relatively well around the middle of the Top40 with her solo debut single Angel, but as foreshadowed, the song really turns into an unexpected hit and jumps 21-10 now. Less good news go to Kim Petras, though it still deserves a shoutout that King Of Hearts has to leave the Top10 for its first time following an impressive eleven weeks run (10-12).
Doja Cat’s Demons and Halle’s Angel share the title for biggest climbers, while Katja Krasavice’s Friendzone is the biggest loser this week.

Bubbling Under
Spoiler!Katja Krasavice makes her album release week perfect, as she also tops the Bubbling Under chart and therefore sits at number one on all three charts. Following the release of her fourth studio album Ein Herz für Bitches, it’s the album opener Legend that stands out the most besides the official singles and debuts right at #1, though fellow album track Deutschland sucht die Super Bitch is right behind at #2. But there’s more, as with Ohne einen Mann at #7, Katja owns three entries on the list.
Katja is not the only artist who owns three charts entries, as Ariana Grande still rides high on the tenth anniversary release for her debut album Yours Truly, with Piano (1-3), Honeymoon Avenue (2-5) and Tattooed Heart (3-6) all still doing well.
Carly Rae Jepsen makes a debut at #4 with Shadow from her current album The Loveliest Time, just in time as the album’s only proper single Shy Boy leaves the Singles Top40. The entry for Shadow is mainly fueled by the George Daniel remix, that was officially released to give the song a boost. It’s already Carly’s third entry from the album, as Psychedelic Switch and Kamikaze charted just a few weeks ago.
The fifth and already final debut goes to Imagine Dragons, as their Children Of The Sky is new at #8. The song serves as an official soundtrack for a new game. Further shoutouts go to Anna Rossinelli’s Wonderland and Mark Forster’s Lego, two new single releases that came close to enter the list as well.
Finally, Tarja’s Sleeping Sun (Live At Metal Church) (4-9) and Kim Petras’ Hit It From The Back (10-10) complete the Bubbling Under chart.

.
Album Top20
Spoiler!Katja Krasavice has released her fourth studio album Ein Herz für Bitches and as expected, she makes it all the way to number one this week. This isn’t a big surprise especially considering how well the singles - most notably Ich hab den schönsten Arsch der Welt with Felix Jaehn - have been doing. Overall, Ein Herz für Bitches is Katja’s fourth chart entry; her debut Bo$$ Bitch reached #5 in 2020, follow-up Eure Mami topped the chart for three weeks in 2021, while her third album Pussy Power topped the chart for two weeks in 2022.
Ariana Grande’s Yours Truly dips 1-2, while Taylor Swift’s Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) recovers 6-3 and completes the Top3.
Other new entries this week: Swedish Dance-Pop duo Icona Pop started their career with a big bang all the way back in 2013, when I Love It with Charli XCX became a big hit all around the world. They never really disappeared and kept releasing stand alone singles, but ten years later, they’re finally back with their second album Club Romantech, including also finally getting another hit with the current Fall In Love. Club Romantech starts at #5, the same debut and peak position of their debut album This Is… from ten years ago. That’s just one spot above the third and final debut of the week, Australian musician Zheani who makes her very first chart debut with the album The Spiritual Meat Grinder at #6.
Other talking points this week: Just as 1989 leaves the charts (ex #17), Taylor’s already back with another one, as Red (Taylor’s Version) returns to #18. It joins the already mentioned Speak Now (Taylor’s Version), Folklore that keeps charting in the upper half (4-9), Evermore that falls 13-19, and Midnights, that stays at #20. Finally, following a strong ten weeks run, Kim Petras’ Feed The Beast has to leave the Top10 for its first time, dipping 9-12.

Singles Top40
Spoiler!Katja Krasavice has been on top of the Singles Top40 for several weeks now and got some additional entries along the way, but with this being finally her album release week, the German singer and former YouTube personality is as successful as never before, with a total of seven songs in the Top40. First things first though, despite there being a completely new single to support the album’s release, it’s still the album’s second single Ich hab den schönsten Arsch der Welt with Felix Jaehn that is still on top, and being there for already its seventh week now. It’s the first song to spend seven weeks at number one since Grimes’ Shinigami Eyes from early 2022. With this massive success, the song could be a real contender to become the most successful song of the year and if it does, it would break a curse that the number one song of a year is usually released in the first half of the year (or in most cases even within the first quarter) - only one song that was released in the second half of the year topped the year-end charts since 2013.
Katja’s fourth album is called Ein Herz für Bitches and its title track serves as the album’s fourth and most likely also final single, having been a real contender for the top spot as well but finally settles down for the runner-up slot. Overall, it’s Katja’s 19th chart entry since making her debut with Dicke Lippen in early 2018, and already 11th to reach the Top3, not only making her the most successful non English artist of the past five years, but overall one of the biggest hit makers during that time. The album’s third single Neonlights with Luna also keeps holding up at #3, giving Katja the whole Top3.
Frauen was released as the album’s first single in Spring, unfortunately right around the Eurovision craziness. So while it debuted at #2, it left the Top40 completely the following week (though more than half of the charts left them in that week). The song was never able to recover up until now, as the album release brings it back to #6. Additionally to the four official Ein Herz für Bitches singles, Katja has been charting with three of her biggest hits already last week, and these three also improve further this time. Friendzone from her second album Eure Mami (2021) is still the highest of these, rising 30-23. It’s followed by fellow Eure Mami single Highway with Elif, that jumps 39-28. Her final entry is Raindrops with Leony from her third album Pussy Power, her biggest hit so far is increasing 39-32.
Other new entries this week: The second highest new entry goes to Beyzil, a Swiss artist who gets his very first chart debut with the dance track Daydream at #4. The vocals are by his girlfriend and both of them have actually been my roommates not too long ago, so this is a very proud moment! Doja Cat is currently preparing the upcoming release for Scarlet, her next album that will be released later this month. Attention served as the album’s lead single and already reached #11 earlier this year. Paint The Town Red was chosen as the album’s second single a few weeks ago and only reached the Bubbling Under chart, but with the song being a sudden hit all around the globe, the attention was brought back to it. Additionally, Doja Cat just put Scarlet out for pre-orders and also already released another new single with Demons - and all these things actually result in Paint The Town Red to finally debut at #13. Demons is not too far behind, coming in at #15 and therefore giving Doja two new Top20 hits at once. With Måneskin’s Honey (Are You Coming?) at #16, Nicki Minaj’s Last Time I Saw You at #17, and Lost Frequencies & Tom Gregory’s Dive at #19, there are a bunch more new arrivals in the Top20. Most notably is Nicki’s debut, as she’s failed to make a proper impact as a lead artist lately, while Lost Frequencies gets his follow-up entry to the slowburner The Feeling (21-30).
Newcomer Paris Paloma is back. Following the breakthrough hit Labour (#4 earlier this year) that also brought the previously released Notre Dame to the chart (#28), the British singer-songwriter released As Good A Reason as her new song that debuts at #25. From a newcomer to three artists who’ve been in the business for a very long time and celebrate their comeback in a way: Timbaland, Nelly Furtado and Justin Timberlake. The three already collaborated on the song Give It To Me all the way back in 2007, while Timbaland also produced Nelly Furtado’s biggest album Loose (2006) as well as the super successful FutureSex / LoveSounds era for Justin (2006), so the expectations on their comeback has been huge and built up for years. Their new collaboration is called Keep Going Up and starts at #29, which is Timbaland’s first entry in five years, Nelly’s first entry in over six years, with Justin being the only one who kept releasing songs and entered the charts, last time alongside Calvin Harris, Halsey and Pharrell Williams on Stay With Me (#2 in 2022). The tenth and final debut of the week belongs to Kylie Minogue, as the Australian legend finally released the follow-up to her number one track Padam Padam with Tension, the title track to her upcoming album. Unfortunately, the song can’t live up to the hype of its predecessor and just barely sneaks in at #38.
Other talking points this week: Charlie Puth keeps rising with his current track Lipstick - after just missing out on the Top20 in his debut week and missing out on the Top10 last week, the song leaps 12-5 this time, becoming his highest appearance in almost seven years, when Dangerously peaked at #4 in late 2016. Prior Dangerously, only We Don’t Talk Anymore with Selena Gomez also peaked at #4, making Lipstick Charlie’s third highest peaking chart entry ever. Kim Petras’ King Of Hearts may go downwards, but the song is still within the Top10 and that’s already in its 11th chart week (8-10). The song reaches Platinum status, making it Kim’s first song reaching the milestone. Back to a climber, as Halle’s Angel recovers 24-21 despite tons of the new arrivals above her. The song has been holding up really well lately and still has the potential to become a true surprise hit. Last but not least, Troye Sivan’s Rush (14-22) and Taylor Swift’s I Can See You (26-31) both get certified with Gold. While being a first for Troye, Taylor keeps being on a strong streak, as this is already her sixth Gold certified song within the last year.
Katja Krasavice & Elif’s Highway is the biggest climber, while amongst several big drops, Babymetal & Tom Morello’s Metali!! takes the biggest dive of the week (17-39).

She keeps out doing herself in each new year, incredible!

Yes! "Cruel Summer" smashing now is exciting, but also makes more sense since it wasn't a single before/it's "new" to the GP in 2023 - but a former multi-week-No. 1 like "Blank Space" re-entering the chart just because she announced 1989 (TV) is WILD!
I've got lots of love for 1989 (so I'm extra-excited for the Vault tracks, but setting my expectations low for how some of the TV's will sound without Max).Me? Stirring up stan wars?
Nah but seriously, even if I wouldn't be a fan I think I'd still make that comment, because facts are facts and I just can't think of someone else who dominated the way Taylor currently does (and she's been doing for a while now, despite being in the business for already such a long time).
Yep. Also, it's been more common these days to see "old" songs suddenly being successes, and Cruel Summer was one of Taylor's song that makes the most sense to suddenly blow up.
With Blank Space & Style re-entering and the original 1989 suddenly being back in the Top10 (even at #1 in Ireland!!) I'm already so, so, sooo excited just to see all the charts action happening in the release week of 1989 (TV), let alone being already way too excited for the music / album itself <3
Oh yeah, huge expectations on the The Vault songs! But even if the re-recorded originals won't be doing it for you, I guess that wouldn't be the biggest loss anyways as you've been someone who stuck to the originals most of the times anyways?
Originally posted by crystalphoenix View PostHmm, I'm realizing now that I don't know much about your taste in movies, so I'm not sure. It's tough for any movie to fully live up to hype the size of Barbie's, so I'll say that I'm glad I saw it, but not in a rush to see it again. It definitely has more slow/reflective moments than I expected (when I thought it'd be more silly overall/mostly geared toward making kids laugh, with just a few "adult" jokes thrown in).
I think for now I definitely wait for an official streaming release - if the interest is still there, I'll be watching it, but as for now, it's not worth spending so much for going to the cinema (which is super expensive here, so I prefer staying at home & having it cozy instead of going out, haha...)
Originally posted by crystalphoenix View PostPhew, that. sounds. INTENSE! I'm definitely someone who needs some "down time"/"recovery time" between social events, so having 10+ people buzzing around all day every day would probably make my head explodeHuge respect for not only stepping up to the challenge, but learning to genuinely enjoy it! Your man's very lucky to have such an adaptable partner. (Any chance you'll share some beach pix here...?)
Aw, so you and your man are already planning your retirement there?
Eh, I gotta admit, I basically took no pictures at allAlso, the weather was abysmal, a typhoon came by in the first week and after that it was always stormy and rainy. We were just once at the beach but while we were swimming, a tornado started to appear in the clouds so we immediately went back
I posted two stories on socials during my trip there, maybe you've at least seen them?
Yes we do

- Speaking of Selena, sounds like you're enjoying "Single Soon" more than any of her other 2021-2023 offerings (though still not quite enough to stop Katja & Felix)
I like it, but I was hoping it'd hit me even harder, since she seemed to be hyping it up more than any other release in a while
- I definitely agree with it belonging several spots about Miley. Not sure why she decided to drop this random ballad and tack it into ESV instead of just...properly promoting "Jaded" more? Or any or the other single-worthy tracks left on ESV? I get that "River" and "Jaded" have both under-performed, but it's not like "Used To Be Young" screams "smash hit potential" either
The Yours Truversary impact!!
LOVE that the album's gone to No. 1 now. Seeing "Piano" + "Honeymoon Avenue" as your Bubbling Under Top 2 really takes me back (two of my faves from that album). I get that a lot of people view YT as too childish and not at all reflective of her now, but I thought it was a sweet introduction to her (and what her voice can do)
- I wasn't planning to check out Ashnikko's full album, but I'm really enjoying her collab with Ethel Cain
- Unrelated to music, but are you hyped at all for The Teal Mask?
- Tony's chart recently introduced me to Zheani, who might be up your alley. Some of her stuff is like Grimes + Charli + Drag Race sass (with the occasional touch of metal too):
Yet another chart that's the most beautiful in the world, Tancel!
Spoiler!Julieta Venegas - Me voy (2 weeks in 2007)
LaFee - Ring Frei (4 weeks in 2008 + 1 week in 2009)
Eisblume - Eisblumen (4 weeks in 2009)
Anette Olzon - Vintersjäl (2 weeks in 2016)
Eluveitie - Lvgvs (2 weeks in 2017)
Elina Nechayeva - La forza (2 weeks 2018)
Eluveitie - Ambiramus (3 weeks in 2019)
Katja Krasavice & Leony - Raindrops (2 weeks in 2021)
Katja Krasavice - Friendzone (2 weeks in 2021)
Go_A - Shum (2 weeks in 2021)
Faun feat. Eluveitie - Gwydion (4 weeks in 2022)
Katja Krasavice & Marwin Balsters (2 weeks in 2022)
Going by overall success though that's not as easy to find out, but judging from the list above, LaFee's Ring Frei has the most chart points (and is still a song I like to listen to these days).
Yep, Single Soon is definitely an improvement over her last few songs but to be truly fair, Selena has lowered my expectations for new songs by her in the last few years with each new releaseIt's a good bop for sure but at this point I'm not sure if she's ever coming close to the greatness of her earlier days (or at least up until the Revival era) for me personally. iirc you still haven't heard most stuff from her & The Scene days, right? So I'd guess Revival is also her peak for you?
Miley's been so confusing. I like Used To Be Young - the more I listen to it, the more I like it. But yeah, weird release strategy. But let's be real, as a big Miley fan I still think Endless Summer Vacation was a rather boring album and her weakest to date, I don't think any of the songs would've been a success for her
YESSSS <3 <3 <3 So so glad to hear you also enjoying Piano! I mean, Honeymoon Avenue seems to be universally loved, but Piano has always been my personal fave of the record and I'm not feeling alone on that one anymore <3 This anniversary release made me realize that it's actually not even that different to the latest stuff she's been doing. Yes she grew older of course but the stuff on Yours Truly aged so, so well.
If you like the collab with Ethel Cain, the album is definitely worth a spin if you have some time to do so. It's a great album. My brother recommended it to me after he found out I was into Grimes.
Hmm not much yet to be honest. Besides watching Nuzlockes on YouTube from my favorite Nuzlockers the Pokémon fever hasn't caught me in a while now; haven't played for two months or so. I'll definitely be getting back into the games once The Teal Mask gets released though, plus the days are getting colder & darker again = more game friendly, so maybe the fever catches me again. How's your excitement for it?
Ugh, that sounds VERY promising! Just saw she's released an album last week so I just added it to my library and check it out in full tomorrow. Tomorrow's new release schedule doesn't look as full anyways, so thank you for the perfect timed recommendation!
Thank you
