thanks so much for all comments
week 26/2014 – 26 june 2014 why are we Worlds Apart?

Slowly but steady rose this weeks number one to the top. Climbing week by week, Seven Lions and Kerli’s song “Worlds Apart” needed four weeks to peak at number one on the Singles Top40. So the US DJ and producer got his first chart hit and his first number one together, while it’s already the seventh number one ranking for the estonian singer, including both collaborations with tyDi. After all it’s also already her second top hit this year, following “Stardust” which topped the charts in the second week of the year.
Lana Del Rey’s “Ultraviolence” switches places with “Worlds Apart” as it’s down 1-2 after the big debut last time. Rounding up the Top3 is the highest of three new entries. After the huge hit that was and probably still is “I See Fire”, Ed Sheeran released his second album called “x” last friday. The lead single is called “Sing” and makes an entry at #3.
In its fifth week inside the Top5, Within Temptation’s “And We Run” is up 5-4. Lana Del Rey falls out of the Top3 as “West Coast” slips 3-5. Lindsey Stirling’s chart topper “Shatter Me” remains at #6 like the last time while the third entry for Lana Del Rey called “Once Upon A Dream” is down 4-7 in its third week. Celebrating a new Top10 hit is the band Linkin Park. Their current single “Until It’s Gone” is rising 15-8 after the debut last week, becoming just their second Top10 entry after “Castle Of Glass” debuted and peaked at #5 in early 2013. With this climb it also outpeaks their previously second highest peaking song “Burn It Down” (#13 in mid-2012).
Colbie Caillat gets a second week inside the Top10 with “Try” (7-9). Closing the best ten is Lindsey Stirling’s album opener “Beyond The Veil” (9-10). The song is getting certified with a Gold certification this week, so all of her three chart hits are certified now.
Despite being out of the Top10 for three weeks now, Ariana Grande’s “Problem” is still doing very good, up 12-11 this time. The song is on the charts for nine weeks. Also charting for the same amount of weeks is the song one place below, but that one never reached the Top10 so far. It’s “Stupid Little Things” by Anastacia. The song has a pretty weird chartrun so far and rises 22-12 this time, topping its previous peak at #15 of two weeks ago. Iggy Azalea’s worldwide hit “Fancy” (10-13) and Nicole Scherzinger’s “Your Love” (8-15) are out of the Top10. Between them there’s Rita Ora’s “I Will Never Let You Down” (14-14). It’s already the seventh week between the places #11 and #14, so it’s showing some great stability. Collecting a third consecutive Top20 is Lorde. After “Royals” and “Team” (both peaked at #9), the third single of her debut album “Pure Heroine” is called “Tennis Court” and rises 31-18 in its third week on the charts.
Lady GaGa’s “G.U.Y.” leaves the Top20 for the first time (19-21), same goes to ESC star Sanna Nielsen and her ballad “Undo” (17-22). Both are already certified with Gold, so they did pretty good and the fall into the second half of the charts isn’t too bad. “Rainmaker” by Emmelie De Forest falls out of the Top20 too (18-25), but not for the first time as it left the charts completely a few weeks ago.
As mentioned there are a total of three new entries this week. Apart from Ed, the two other new entries debuts outside the Top20. Demi Lovato gets another entry from her fourth album “Demi” as the fourth single “Really Don’t Care” featuring Cher Lloyd enters the charts at #24. The last new entry is by the UK newcomer Sam Smith who arrives with his latest release “Stay With Me” at #28. Just a few weeks ago he debuted at the same position with “Money On My Mind”. A fourth more or less new song arrives too, as canadian singer Kiesza re-enters the charts at #29 with “Hideaway” – the highest position for the song so far.
There’s one last thing to mention for this week. US violinist Lindsey Stirling celebrates a huge milestone with her song “Crystallize”. The biggest hit of last year is charting for its 70th week. It’s the first song ever to be on the charts for so long, surpassing the 69 weeks of Ashley Tisdale’s “Suddenly”. The third longest charting song is Loreen’s “Euphoria” with 66 weeks. But going by points, Lindsey is still far behind Ashley, because back when Ashley slayed the charts with “Suddenly”, there was only a Top10, so basically if there would have been a Top40 like now, Ashley’s “Suddenly” would still be the longest-charting single.
The biggest climber is the already mentioned “Tennis Court” by Lorde while Jennifer Lopez’ “I Luh Ya Papi” is the biggest loser (29-40).

Despite a big new release, Lana Del Rey stays unbothered and defends her top spot on the Album Top20. This means a second consecutive week on the throne for “Ultraviolence”, surpassing the one week of “Paradise” EP, but still ten to go to match the 12 weeks of her last full-length album “Born To Die”.
The big new release is the second album by british singer/songwriter Ed Sheeran. He named his album “x” and debuts at number two. This is a lot better than the peak of his debut album “+”, which peaked at #9 for three non-consecutive weeks. But to be fair, “+” had no charting hit at all and debuted just earlier this year due to his success of “I See Fire”, that was two years after its original release. Rounding up the Top3 is Linkin Park. The band is down by only one place with their album “The Hunting Party”, getting a second week inside the Top3.
Anette Olzon’s “Shine” slips 3-4. Colbie Caillat debuted with a new EP just a week ago, now the “Gypsy Heart (Side A)” EP is up 8-5 and gets a new peak. “Hydra” by Within Temptation is down 4-6. Another symphonic metal record is “Beauty & The Beat” by Tarja and Mike Terrana. After it dropped since its debut, it finally remains stable this time (7-7). Lindsey Stirling’s “Shatter Me” goes up 9-8 after the decrease last week. While Seven Lions closes the Top10 with his “Worlds Apart” EP again, there’s one last album in the Top10 which is pretty surprising. Being very successful due to their concert earlier this year, the second studio album by Within Temptation called “Mother Earth” showed amazing longevity through the year, and now even rises back to the Top10 again (18-9). It’s already on the charts for 17 weeks, not bad for a ten-years-old album!
Ed Sheeran’s already mentioned debut album “+” is still charting in this week too, rising 14-11. Miley Cyrus’ “Bangerz” drops a lot lately, this time she’s down 5-12. If she won’t release a new single soon, the album could leave the charts in a few weeks. But it’s already charting for 38 weeks, being her longest-charting album so far. A much more drastic drop goes to Jennifer Lopez and her newest album “A.K.A.”. While it just debuted last week, it’s already down 6-14 this time, leaving the Top10 after only one week.
There are two big celebrations on this weeks album charts. The first one goes to Kerli and her last record “Utopia”. The album spends its 60th week on the charts this week by climbing 16-13. It will be hard for her next album to top these or the 50 weeks of her debut album “Love Is Dead”. The second celebrations goes to Lindsey Stirling. Not only her single “Crystallize”, but also her self-titled debut album spends its 70th week on the charts (19-20).

While Lana Del Rey owned the Airplay Top10 last week, the singer has to give the crown to someone else. But after all she still has nine songs on the charts, so she’s basically still owning them.
Like on the Singles Top40, “Worlds Apart” by Seven Lions and Kerli tops the charts. It previously charted on the airplay charts for two weeks. With 48 plays during the last week, it’s one of the least played number one this year, but the song has a duration of over six minutes, while a normal song often goes three to four minutes, so 48 plays isn’t that bad at all.
“Ultraviolence”, the title track of Lana’s album, is down 1-2 with 44 plays. Closing the Top3 is album track and potential single “Money Power Glory”, up from number four last week.
The first single “West Coast” remains pretty stable (3-4) and is already charting for four weeks. It’s followed by the promo singles “Shades Of Cool” (5-5) and “Brooklyn Baby” (2-6). Three more album tracks from last week are charting this week too: “****ed My Way To The Top” (8-7) and “Sad Girl” (10-8) both reach a new peak while “Pretty When You Cry” is down 6-9. The last song on the charts is album closer “Florida Kilos”. The song missed the charts last week due to only a very few plays, but it enters them this time.
Plays of the Top10 went down by 47 to 284 (-14.2%) compared to last week.

week 26/2014 – 26 june 2014 why are we Worlds Apart?

- Singles Top40

- Album Top20

- Airplay Top10
