    week 30/2015 – 23 july 2015 Ciara dances like she's making love

    • Singles Top40

First Aid Kit remains at number one for a second week with their single “My Silver Lining”, followed by The Weeknd who stays at number two with “Can’t Feel My Face”. There’s just a tiny gap between these two songs, and at first it looked like The Weeknd could celebrate his first top hit, but First Aid Kit stayed stronger in the end. The first of seven new arrivals comes in in the Top3, as Ciara lands her highest peaking single ever with “Dance Like We’re Making Love”. It’s the follow-up to “I Bet”, which peaked at #9 earlier this year, and outpeaks “Overdose” which hit #4 in 2013 as her previous highest peaking single. It’s also the first time she gets two Top10 notations from one album.

The second highest entry debuts at #16. Major Lazer had one of the biggest hits of the year with “Lean On” (12-17), and now they’re back with the follow-up called “Powerful”. The song features the very successful Ellie Goulding, and a singer called Tarrus Riley. A third entry makes the Top20, as Marina And The Diamonds is new at #19 with “Blue”, the next single of her third album “Froot”. It’s already the seventh song of the album to make an appearance, and four of them got certified with Gold.

While US girl group Fifth Harmony just got their first entry ever a week ago, they already have another debut with “Sledgehammer”, which is actually the previous single of last week’s entry “Worth It”, and starts at #27. American newcomer Halsey is about to release her debut album in a month, but for now she’s making her first entry ever with “Ghost” at #32. Another newcomer are Years & Years from the UK. The trio just celebrated their top debut in the UK with their debut album “Communion”, which spawned the singles “King” (#37) and “Shine” (#40), both making a debut on my charts this week as well due to their album release.

The Weeknd gets a second Top10 entry as “The Hills” increases 28-4. Selena Gomez leaves the Top3 with “Good For You”, down 3-5, followed by Jasmine Thompson who slips 5-6 with “Adore”. Kelly Clarkson’s “Invincible” keeps on increasing, up 11-7 this week. With this move, it outpeaks the previous single “Heartbeat Song” (#9) and becomes her highest peaking single since “People Like Us” debuted and peaked at #2 in early 2013. It’s also her tenth Top10 single since the beginning of my charts. Demi Lovato’s “Cool For The Summer” (4-8), “Seven Mountains” by 77 Bombay Street (6-9) and Marina Kaye’s “Sounds Like Heaven” (8-10) fill out the rest positions in the Top10.

While Marina Kaye’s “Dancing With The Devil” leaves the Top10 for the first time (10-13), “Homeless” is down as well but not for its first time (7-11). Leona Lewis is also out of them after just one week with “Fire Under My Feet” (9-14). Fifth Harmony and Zedd both had a new entry last week, and both of them get a new peak now. While the girl group rises into the Top20 for their very first time with “Worth It” (24-15), Zedd’s “Beautiful Now” is up 36-25. There are also two surprising drops, and one of them is Owl City’s new track. “Verge” just debuted in the Top20 a week ago and already tumbles 16-33, which is very unusual for the musician as he’s used to get good hits. The other drop is the one for “Ain’t Nobody (Loves Me Better)” by Felix Jaehn and Jasmine Thompson. While the song was very stable over the last few weeks, it’s down 26-39 now.

The Weeknd’s “The Hills” is the biggest climber while Foxes’ “Body Talk” is the biggest loser this week (21-35), after being the biggest climber a week ago.

    • Album Top20

First Aid Kit also remains on top of the Album Top20 with “Stay Gold”, becoming the fourth album with three or more weeks on top of the year so far after Björk’s “Vulnicura”, Nightwish’s “Endless Forms Most Beautiful” and Tarja’s “Luna Park Ride”. Nightwish is back up 3-2 with “Endless Forms Most Beautiful” in their 17th week, followed by Hilary Duff who returns to the Top3 with “Breathe In. Breathe Out.”. The album gets certified with Gold this week, being her first album certification ever.

Owl City is already down 2-4 with his newest release “Mobile Orchestra”. American newcomer Halsey debuts at #5 with her EP “Room 93”. Her debut album “Badlands” will be released in a month. While Lena stays at number six with “Crystal Sky”, Marina Kaye is back up one position with “Fearless” (8-7); both are in their tenth week, and all of them were spent inside the Top10. Fifth Harmony just got their second entry on the singles charts, and can celebrate their first entry on the album charts as well now as their debut album “Reflection” makes an entry at #8. Australian superstar Guy Sebastian remains at #9 with “Madness”, with UK newcomer Years & Years closing the Top10 with their debut album “Communion” as the third and last new entry of the week.

Tarja leaves the Top10 for the first time with “Luna Park Ride” after seven weeks (10-11). There’ll be another new release from her later this year, as she will release a christmas album. Zella Day’s debut “Kicker” (5-12) and Björk’s “Post” (7-14) leave the Top10 as well.

Kelly Clarkson and Ciara are back on track! While the new albums by both artists didn’t do as well as their previous ones, their new singles seem to revive their albums as well. While Kelly’s “Piece By Piece” already returned to the charts as week ago and is now up 18-13, Ciara’s “Jackie” is back at #17 now. Last thing worth a mention is actually something negative, as Anette Olzon’s “Shine” is down 16-19 this week, being now as low as never before in its impressive 69-week-chartrun.

    • Airplay Top10

While The Weeknd stays at number two on the Singles Top40, his “Can’t Feel My Face” is up 2-1 on the airplay charts, earning him his first top position ever. It only got one play more than “My Silver Lining” though, which slips 1-2 for First Aid Kit. The Weeknd’s other high charting song “The Hills” increases 4-3.

The american girl group Fifth Harmony get two entries this week, as “Sledgehammer” (#4) and “Worth It” (#6) arrives on the airplay charts. Nightwish’s “Élan” is back at #5, while album tracks “Shudder Before The Beautiful” (9 plays) and “My Walden” (8 plays) just missed to make a re-entry. The Weeknd’s “Often” is down 5-7, followed by Jasmine Thompson’s “Adore” which falls 6-8. While Selena Gomez’ “Good For You” closes the Top10 (3-10), there’s another new entry with “Powerful” by Major Lazer at #9.

Some new entries from the singles charts got a few plays as well. Ciara’s “Dance Like We’re Making Love” got played five times last week, while Halsey’s “Ghost” got played six times.

Plays of the Top10 went down by 57 to 167 (-25.4%) compared to last week. This is one play less than in the week 13, which makes this the week with the lowest amount of plays of the year.

I still prefer "Can't Feel My Face", but "The Hills" grew a lot on me lately. I think one can't compare these two, as both seem to be so different. Can't wait for his album!

To be honest, i haven't see the video yet Want to check it out soon... read so many positive things about it!

Yes, i checked her out and she's great, love her voice! I also downloaded the "Room 93" EP which is good too. Can't wait for "Badlands"

                  • I don't like that picture of Ciara. I find it, what's the right word, tasteless? Don't care for her music either so let's look at the good stuff instead:

5 (3) Selena Gomez feat. A$AP Rocky – Good For You
                    6 (5) Jasmine Thompson – Adore
                    7 (11) Kelly Clarkson – Invincible
8 (4) Demi Lovato – Cool For The Summer
10 (8) Marina Kaye feat. Lindsey Stirling – Sounds Like Heaven *G*
                    11 (7) Marina Kaye – Homeless *G*
                    12 (13) Nightwish – Élan *3xG*
13 (10) Marina Kaye – Dance With The Devil
                    18 (14) Taylor Swift – Bad Blood *G*
27 (NEW) Fifth Harmony – Sledgehammer
                    29 (32) Zella Day – Hypnotic
                    30 (23) Lena – Traffic Lights *G*
                    35 (21) Foxes – Body Talk

These are the songs this week I have noticed and find good to great (not ready to add the #1 to that list yet). Great to see Sledgehammer (and #4 on the airplay chart!), it's old but very good (it reached #15 on my chart the first week of January). Not so great to see Black Magic drop out after just one week but at least one week is better than zero...

Hilary Duff's album going up again on the albums chart . I just checked out Halsey's EP and found it interesting (it won't be able to chart on my albums chart though because it has too few tracks).

                    • Hopefully, Selena can stay in the Top5 for another week and I would like to see the compilation of the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 back on your chart!

I am not into your number-one that much but it's still a good track. Also, it is great to see The Weeknd smashing! I love his voice

                      • Top 10 for "Invincible"! YAY!!!

A pretty late entry for "King" on your Charts - has the song grown on you or have you just never heard it that much before?

Also love the great longevity for "Crystal Sky" so far and the climb for "Piece By Piece" is also great!

No, I just know Homeless, but it's just me or the beginning of Homeless is really sound like Imposible?
What's your favourite song from Froot?
Oh i haven't heard these similarities yet, need to listen to "Impossible" again... but you mean James Arthur's "Impossible", right?
Probably "Immortal" and "I'm A Ruin", the title track and "Forget" are amazing as well though. What are your faves?

These are the songs this week I have noticed and find good to great (not ready to add the #1 to that list yet). Well i thought it fits her very well, because that's more or less her image. But i get what you mean.
You should check out "Dance Like We're Making Love" though, it's really good

Good to see you like lots of entries again. I already heard "Sledgehammer" back when it got released, but never cared for it. Just now that i also got the album i cared about it so i thought it's time to let it enter the charts as well, as it deserves to do so. Great pop track. I think lots of users won't be happy to see the non-success for "Black Magic" here as there are a lot of UKMixers who love it, but it just didn't click with me

Glad you found Halsey's EP interesting. She will release her debut album "Badlands" (or stylized as BADLANDS) in a month, so i hope you'll check that one out as well

I guess i have to disappoint you with both Selena will fall out of the Top5 this week, but there's a chance "Good For You" may climb back when the album comes out or maybe even sooner As for the ESC, i guess it's definitely over now. But this years compilation is the second most successful ESC compilation ever on my charts (since 2010, so six made it to the charts). Only the one from 2012 was more successful - Loreen her impact

Oh you heard it? Glad you think it's a good track Also good to hear you like The Weeknd too

Glad you like that climb. "Invincible" grew on me a lot over the last few weeks, and now i think it's easily her best single since "People Like Us", if not even since "Stronger"

I never cared for it, but now that i listened to their album i thought it's worth an entry. But don't expect too much - it will be out again this week

Glad you like the performance of these albums. Lena's album is such a huge surprise this year, still loving it! And i have to thank "Invincible" because Kelly's album keeps on growing on me again. The first half is so strong

week 31/2015 – 30 july 2015 Run Away With Carly

                              • Singles Top40

Carly Rae Jepsen is back on top! The canadian singer just released the video for the single “Run Away With Me”, which serves as the second single of her upcoming third album “E-Mo-Tion” which will be released in a month, and it becomes her fifth number one single, with all of them getting a top debut. Only the previous release and lead single of “E-Mo-Tion” called “I Really Like You” missed the top spot, as it debuted and peaked at #3 earlier this year. Fellow canadian singer The Weeknd seems to pull a Jasmine Thompson, as he spends a third week at #2 with “Can’t Feel My Face”, just like Jasmine did a few weeks ago. And both of them had very strong weeks at number two, which would have been easy top weeks in some other weeks... closing the Top3 is First Aid Kit’s “My Silver Lining”, which falls down 1-3 after two weeks on top.

Apart from Carly, there are six more new entries on the charts this week. Swedish pop singer Tove Lo is back with “Timebomb”, the third notation of her debut album “Queen Of The Clouds”. While “Habits” (#4) and “Talking Body” (#9) both reached the Top10, “Timebomb” only starts at #19. Avicii recently released “Waiting For Love”, and while the previous two releases “The Days” and “The Nights” weren’t the big hits he probably wanted, it looks like “Waiting For Love” is doing much better on the worldwide charts and now starts at #26 on my charts as well. German DJ and producer Robin Schulz is back as well at #29, as he just released “Sugar”, the title track of his upcoming second studio album. Not purely an original song like “Sun Goes Down” and “Headlights”, and no remix like “Prayer In C”, but this time he samples a song – Baby Bash’s “Suga Suga”. European summer hit “El mismo sol” by Alvaro Soler makes an entry at #38 while french newcomer Louane gets two entries at once with “Avenir” (#34) and “Jour 1” (#40).

Ciara slips 3-4 with “Dance Like We’re Making Love”, followed by Kelly Clarkson whose up into the Top5 with her current single “Invincible”. Major Lazer owns one of the biggest hit of the year with “Lean On” (17-20), and it seems like they’re getting another hit as “Powerful” featuring Ellie Goulding and Tarrus Riley improves ten positions, up 16-6 after the debut last week. If it continues with climbing like this, it could end up as a future number one single. The Weeknd’s “The Hills” is down 4-7 with Jasmine Thompson’s “Adore” going down 6-8. “Adore” is getting certified with Gold this week, becoming her first notation with a certification, and also being the only certified song in the Top10 this week. The two former disney girls Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato are the last entries in the Top10 with their songs “Good For You” (5-9) and “Cool For The Summer” (8-10).

Marina Kaye’s “Sounds Like Heaven” leaves the Top10 for the first time after a nine-week-run (10-13). Her other two notations “Homeless” (11-12) and “Dancing With The Devil” (13-15) remain pretty stable as well. Also leaving the Top10 is 77 Bombay Street’s “Seven Mountains”, as it’s down 9-14 after two weeks. While Fifth Harmony’s “Worth It” remains stable in its third week (15-16), their “Sledgehammer” becomes another Top20 hit as it increases 27-18. Taylor Swift’s big hit “Bad Blood” leaves the upper half for the first time after eight weeks by falling 18-24. After falling week by week, Armin Van Buuren & Sharon den Adel’s “In And Out Of Love” (31-27) and Lena’s “Traffic Lights” (30-28) rise again.

Major Lazer’s “Powerful” is the biggest climber while Kygo’s “Stole The Show” which falls 23-35 is the biggest loser of the week.

In a pretty quiet week, finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish climb back to the top spot with their eighth studio album “Endless Forms Most Beautiful”, getting a fitting eighth week at number one. Last years best charting album “Shine” by Anette Olzon, the former singer of Nightwish, also topped the weekly album charts for eight weeks, so that may be a good sign for the group. First Aid Kit slip 1-2 with “Stay Gold” after three weeks on top, while Hilary Duff remains at number three with “Breathe In. Breathe Out.”.

Fifth Harmony get some surprising success everywhere. While they didn’t have a successful start, their single “Worth It” becomes a moderate hit in lots of countries, and it seems like they’re the most successful girlgroup since the The Pussycat Dolls. Their debut album “Reflection” also gets a new peak this week, up 8-4 after the entry the last time. Lena’s “Crystal Sky” (6-5) and Marina Kaye’s “Fearless” (7-6) are both up one position, followed by Kelly Clarkson. The superstar is back in the Top10 with her current album “Piece By Piece” as it’s up 13-7. The only weeks when it was higher was in its first two weeks at #2 and #3, so she finally found her old strength again when it comes to her success. Tarja is back in the Top10 as well, as “Luna Park Ride” increases 11-8. The finnish singer will release a christmas album in september, so expect another success from her soon. Owl City drops 4-9 with “Mobile Orchestra”, which is a disastrous success in the US by the way by dropping out of the Top200 after only one week, and Guy Sebastian closes the Top10 with his “Madness” (9-10).

The first and only new entry just misses to make an entry in the upper half of the charts by debuting at #11 – it’s Louane, a singer from France and a huge one, as her debut album “Chambre 12” already spent eight week on top there, and it also reached the Top10 in Switzerland and got a Gold certification here. Halsey’s EP “Room 93” (5-13) and Years & Years’ “Communion” (10-15) fall out of the Top10. Madonna re-enters the charts at #18 with “Rebel Heart”. With her upcoming tour she should get another Platinum certified album in the end.

Carly Rae Jepsen also gets a stellar debut on the airplay charts, as “Run Away With Me” got 141 plays, which are the seventh most weekly plays of the year so far. The Weeknd’s “Can’t Feel My Face” slips 1-2, while Major Lazer’s “Powerful” leaps 9-3.

Nightwish’s “Élan” is up 5-4 in its 16th week, being already my sixth most played song ever. While The Weeknd’s “The Hills” is down 3-5, his third entry from last week called “Often” leaves the Top10 this time. Kelly Clarkson enters the airplay charts with “Invincible” at #6, followed by Jasmine Thompson who is back up 8-7 with “Adore”. The current number one on the album charts also gets more entries, as “Shudder Before The Beautiful” (#8) and “My Walden” (#9) are back on the charts for Nightwish.

Finally, closing the charts is actress and singer Vanessa Hudgens. She’s not a big name when it comes to her music, and her last album “Identified” was released over six years ago, but this week the album track “Did It Ever Cross Your Mind” becomes her first airplay entry ever at #10. The album tracks “Set It Off” and “Amazed” nearly made the charts as well.

Plays of the Top10 went up by 79 to 246 (+47.3%) compared to last week.

Probably "Immortal" and "I'm A Ruin", the title track and "Forget" are amazing as well though. What are your faves?

                                                  40 (NEW) Louane – Jour 1

I just checked out most of the songs on your chart that I wasn't already familiar with (some of them I may have heard before and forgot). Most of them didn't catch my interest but Louane (who I had never heard of before) sounded interesting! I haven't listened to the entire album yet but will do so later. I don't understand French (except a few words here and there) but I like to listen to it because it tends to "sound good" and if I need to understand the lyrics there's always Google translate... It was actually a song in French ("Parle-moi" by Isabelle Boulay) that was the first song I ever played more than 100 times in a single week, back in February 2001, at least since I started measuring plays (I can think of one or two songs in the late 90's I may have played more), although that doesn't seem so dramatic these days when around 150 songs have reached that and the record is above 900... Anyway, I feel that there has been a shortage of good songs in French in recent years (or maybe I just haven't looked hard enough) which makes this extra interesting.

Also nice to see a song at #1 that I actually like (although it still hasn't charted in my top 30 and I prefer a few other songs from the album), and nice climb for "Sledgehammer"!
